I know ALOT about basketball. It’s a team game. The best players do pass off the “ball” when the opportunity is right. They don’t throw the game just because people are jeering from the bleachers. They don’t walk off the court before the final buzzer. They stay in the game and help their team win.
When was quitting ever considered a heroic thing to do in America? It seems like some people are overlooking what Sarah has done to her team “up there in Alaska.”

I at least think that she best be prepared for the onslaught and she better practice her jump shot.

I think we should replace firework displays with virtual fireworks that are projected onto screens for all to enjoy.

The way I see it is this. Sarah was on team Alaska. Team USA recruited her for the big leagues. With visions of grandeur, she abandoned her team before her contract was played out.
She lost the big playoff game and returned to her team, but she is now such a celebrity that she has become a liability to her team.

Is she helping or hurting AK by stepping aside? I will admit that it is probably best for AK for her to let someone else take care of business and let her capitalize on her celebrity status.

I once attempted to make a dinner of cous cous for my family after I came back from a european trip that included a jouney into Morrocco. I was a vegetarian and in Morrocco they served us the dish with the meat removed, but not the flavor. I attempted to cook the dish without meat and did not replace it with any substitute flavoring. Hahaha. It was the blandest dish ever and my dad still to this day makes jokes about cous cous, over 30 years later. lol

TO THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES: YOU ARE BEING DECEIVED ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING

You have recently received an Open Letter from the Woods Hole Research Center, exhorting you to act quickly to avoid global disaster. The letter purports to be from independent scientists, but that Center is the former den of the President’s science advisor, John Holdren, and is far from independent. This is the same science advisor who has given us predictions of “almost certain” thermonuclear war or eco-catastrophe by the year 2000, and many other forecasts of doom that somehow never seem to arrive on time.

The facts are:

The sky is not falling; the Earth has been cooling for ten years, without help. The present cooling was NOT predicted by the alarmists’ computer models, and has come as an embarrassment to them.

The finest meteorologists in the world cannot predict the weather two weeks in advance, let alone the climate for the rest of the century. Can Al Gore? Can John Holdren? We are flooded with claims that the evidence is clear, that the debate is closed, that we must act immediately, etc, but in fact

THERE IS NO SUCH EVIDENCE; IT DOESN’T EXIST.

The proposed legislation would cripple the US economy, putting us at a disadvantage compared to our competitors. For such drastic action, it is only prudent to demand genuine proof that it is needed, not just computer projections, and not false claims about the state of the science.

SCIENCE IS GUIDED BY PROOF, NOT CONSENSUS

Finally, climate alarmism pays well. Alarmists are rolling in wealth from the billions of dollars floating around for the taking, and being taken. It is always instructive to follow the money.

We are back and everything went VERY well at our local rally!!! Numbers only totaled around 200-300 people, but hey, it’s a start!
Mysteriously missing were minority groups….hmmmm….that is NOT hard to figure out why though. (only a couple of hispanics, one carrying a sign written in spanish and a couple of blacks-one was ex-military, injured in the line of duty and who was also an honored speaker at this event. )

They handed out a red carnation to each veteran present and had them all meet on the courthouse square to honor them and have their picture taken.
Then a group got up and sang the song God Bless the USA. That song always makes me cry, but it also makes me very proud too!
We meet allot of people, some I haven’t seen since high school!!
Free Hot dogs, pizza, water, tea (sweet and unsweetened were served too)
It was a great time and I’m so glad we went!!!
I feel inspired in the greater cause now.

Just a fly by to say that I volunteered for several hours at the 1941 Historic Aircraft Group Museum. It is in the valley below me on a large farm. There is a large hangar and a couple of smaller ones where restoration and parties take place! I worked in the office building on the computer contacting media reps for the air show next weekend. Antique aircraft from all over the US. Today there were biplane rides $300 for an hour, @200 for a half hour. One was a Stearman. I loved being at that old airstrip in the field with the old planes buzzing around. Beautiful day and for four hours straight no thought of Michael Jackson! There were, however, dangerous Dunkin Doughnuts singing their siren song. I lapsed – 1/2 but that is better than 100% Must take off again but will make intermittent landings. WG should be jealous. She has a car; I have a biplane. All of us dogs like my brother Snoopy are high flyers. We don’t bother with roads.

I grew up on the Jersey border and there was a house in the downtown main roundabout, across from the statue of the soldier with a grenade in his hand (that was aimed at the Catholic Church across the street and so they removed it) that George Washington had once slept in when he was passing through. They had it preserved historically so you could see inside the rooms as they were way back when.

Then a Burger Chef wanted to build on the site and the city council had to make a decision whether to allow the historic house to be demolished.

My school was next door to the Catholic Church which was across the street from the Burger Chef. We loved going there after school. It was the first fast food chain in our town. It beat the George Washington historic house hands down in our opinion.

later it became an Arthur Treacher’s Fish and Chips. I think they are considering it now for a historical monument to fast food. heehee

I just started up the grill. I am so going easy on myself. We are just doing dogs and sausages with all the trimmings and sides. Jonah has some friends over and they just went to get more. Jonah wants me to pull him aside if some “gangsters” show up and then he will tell them they will have to leave. I don’t know if I am very comfortable with this plan. I am going out later to see the Model T’s and the fireworks and party at my friends who live across the street from the display. I don’t want to leave my house if there are “gangstas” that refuse to leave.

As VF would say: This is true; this is a fact. As I go off to my lair I have to say, I’m glad I stayed close to home today. We have a bunch of finger lakes near here but at the closest, in one hour someone fell on their dock and broke their arm, a boat flipped, a deck with lots of people on it fell, and a car swiped 5 others parked on west lake road. Nearby there was a terrible head on collision. Some guy was being chased by police and was going 100mph when he slammed into another car. All of this happened within an hour. We turned the scanner off. I hope you all had good weather and a fine day. Yours in intelligence – the ole dawg – overboard!

I’m off for brunch with a friend at a new restaurant on Conesus Lake. Conesus has come up in the world. They have got rid of the algae due to runoff from surrounding farm-dotted hills (fertilizer) and with it – yup you guessed it – dead fish! We should have a sign: Dead Fish Welcome Here.

Sad fact: Most of the beautiful Finger Lakes up here have property either in the hands of speculators from all over the world to wealthy out of town/state people who have torn down the charming old cottages and have built mcmansions that create huge footprints and large driveways that allow runoff of all kinds of stuff into the lakes. The character of the area is greatly changed; people who retired to their winterized cottages can no longer afford to live where they are because of increases taxes. I miss the woodland get away charm of the lakes as they were. Time was when a lake vacation was a simple life. That was really relaxing. Now its wall to wall carpeting and air conditioning. Where’s the charm in that? There is no change in scene involved. It reminds me of the super highways where you drive all over the US but don’t see any of it because you are whizzing by on a road that could be anywhere. When I lived in Massachusetts, I wanted to go north to the beach and drove right passed the area and was in New Hampshire at at race track in no time.

Oil traders in London and New York said the “unauthorised trading” explained the exceptional spike in business activity and prices in the early hours of Tuesday that some initially thought must have been caused by a geopolitical event. “Trading volumes rose overnight and prices jumped more than $2 a barrel without apparent justification,” a senior oil trader in New York said.

PERSONALLY, I thought it may have been the death of Michael Jackson and the thought that there would be high gas usage as fans from all over the world put a strain on all forms of transportation.

After Palin’s speech at the RNC, I called a friend of mine and was sooooo pumped and jazzed up. Thrilled to hear someone talk that I really could relate to on a personal level.
My friend was NOT impressed!! In fact, the very opposite. She found her to be a ‘hick’, an affront to feminist, etc….LOL
Much to my disappoint, though we both voted Hillary, my die-hard dem party loving friend thought Obama was soooo cool and intelligent…and voted for “that one”. We have rarely spoken since then.

You know why I posted the Star Wars one? Because my hubs was watching Star Wars and was taken aback by Natalie Portman going “So this is how liberty dies, to thunderous applause” and he thought ol’ Obama was a lot like Palpatine in that movie… so he said he went online this week and typed it in. Our founding fathers are rolling in their graves knowing we screwed this pooch. They never realized how successful we would became. All of our success is built off of their dreams. The success of the rest of the world came about with the success of the United States.

The United States of America leads the world in prosperity, power, individual liberty and freedom. We became the worlds greatest country because of our ingenuity. Ingenuity comes from keeping the fruits of our labor. Greed is good. Without greed, there is no innovation. Without innovation, there is no success. This is why Capitalism works. Our founding fathers knew the free market would bring national and world success.

In a democracy, all citizens enjoy legitimized freedoms and liberties. Democracy and Capitalism go hand in hand. Trade and industry are privately, not state owned, generating profits for private individuals. Each person owns his or her own labor, and sells the use of it to employers. Private rights and property are protected by rule of law. Legislative action is confined to defining and enforcing the basic rules of the market.

Obummer pisses on the cornerstone of freedom. By the Constitution, we have God given rights; we can worship freely, speak our minds without fear of persecution, and keep the fruits we have earned from our labors. The federal government no longer serves at the pleasure of the people. We are to bend over, without a jar Vaseline to ease the pain. Individual freedom and liberty dies the moment that we stopped upholding the Constitution and the Free Republic for which it stands.

You can take that bet, that if your a TEA Party protester, the FBI and DHS are monitoring you as a “Domestic Terrorist”. Those who dare oppose the direction of our government will experience a fate similar to those in Iran and Honduras. Obummer is not impressed. He is laughing his ass off at us.

Congress and the White House are systematically ripping off pieces of the Constitution, using it to wipe their ass, forcing policies into law in direct contradiction to the Constitution. Not word to oppose those policies are said by those that could stop them.

The leader of the “free world”, Obummer, concerns himself more with the dictators of the world. As a Senator, voted against freeing Iraqis from Saddam Hussein. When Hugo Chavez held a referendum to set aside the country’s long tradition of presidential term limits, Obummer said the re-election was democratic. He took close to two weeks before making a statement to Iran about the brutal force used against peaceful protesters. Now he sides with the U.N. in putting the Honduran dictator back in place, after he was constitutionally remove from Honduran office.

His Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, followed suit, in opening testimony at her Senate confirmation hearings, invoking every conceivable goal but democracy promotion. Not a word about elections, human rights, or freedom. And during her trips to Russia and China, human rights were never mentioned. It’s not in Obummer’s agenda. He’s already made it a point that he doesn’t give a crap about spreading democracy around the world and given aid and comfort to enemies in Iran and other piss ant third world dictators.

Americans embrace human rights and democracy and its advancement requires American influence. It is our responsibility to see them spread. People enjoy God given freedom thanks to our aid in WWI, WWII, the fall of the Soviet Union.

The evil in America today is capitalism and democracy. The Obummer administration has confiscated control of the banking and auto industry. Next he want control of the insurance industry, the health industry and the energy industry. This will make the Constitution obsolete.

We don’t want freedom anymore. We demonstrated this by voting to be governed by elitist dicks who know what’s best for us. This is end of individual liberty and the death of independence. We are idiots. We have no foresight. We’ve voted against people who have bigger TVs, and SUVs, and better food, and bigger homes. We’ve voted against smokers, and anyone who has more than us. I can crap bigger than you. So what!

Our freedom is being sold. We want free healthcare, free housing, free food. Our politicians are taking money for their votes, and now our government is bankrupt. Individual freedom, the greatest good on earth will die for the false promise of free stuff? The freedom our founding fathers is gone. The greatest nation of free men ever known to mankind is being destroyed, with it, the hope of freedom for all others around the world.

When CRAP and Trade, and Healthcare are passed, the Constitution will no longer be valid. It will just be an ancient document, just as they teach our children in school. Your free healthcare will not be free. We have already overextended ourselves. Utility companies will have to pay a tax for a gas your body creates. And that tax will be passed on to us.

Every time you watch TV, turn on a light, use your microwave, charge your cell phone, do anything that uses energy, you will pay for it. Businesses don’t pay taxes, they add it to their cost of doing business. More taxes equals less freedom. How does that shit sandwich taste?

When government increases spending or raises taxes, it expands its power. That power is stolen from us, directly impacting our rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. President Obummer has robbed our generation, our children and our children’s children of wealth and in doing so, he has robbed us of freedom.

Government is not the giver of rights. Government is the vessel of God given rights. Freedom is never more than a generation from extinction. Whether or not the Obummer is aware of it, he was echoing a theme first propounded long ago by Soviet propagandists and piece of shit third world dictators.

Socialism/Communism advocates state ownership and administration of production and distribution of goods, is characterized by equal opportunities for all individuals and equal compensation base, promotes the establishment of an egalitarian, classless, stateless society based on common ownership and control of the means of production and property, even if the country does not actually claim that it has already reached socialism/communism.

lisa, I don’t like the cap and trade vid. I don’t like that guy who narrated. He is assuming that there will be no conservation efforts to thwart the measure. Won’t businesses who are practicing conservation benefit from cap and trade? Won’t this be an incentive for manufacturers to cut their energy use and therefore not pay the tax?
Won’t consumers find ways to reduce their gas and electric use?
I didn’t like that he said the poor don’t pay for their transportation or heating. well I think a lot of poor do.
I don’t think cap and trade is the best solution. I am no longer supporting it, partially because of how they tried to ram all the other addendums in there. I think it will fail.

So now we, and the EPA, will be negotiating with China to get the studies they are conducting done correctly? That is just too much to fathom. geesh.

Well, I’m going to (in my dreams probally) going to do a post of my own on sweet ‘ol Sarah. It won’t be anything like ones VF does or others here on WordPress or other blogs, but I like to say my say and post my post and that is it (eventhough I’m not a great thinking person) but I do have my thoughts on things.

I absolutely despise the “left” and hope they canibalize each other in the inevitable civil war.

Watching their relentless ad hominum attacks on the Palin family makes me believe to the core of my being that “Democrat” is a synonym for “evil”.

I’m hoping instead she’s gonna roll up her sleeves and go after the sneaky Obama / smarmy Biden team what with their “progressive” / half-socialist / resurrected Democratic nightmare. Obama’s popularity is steadily dropping as more and more people realize “Change” can mean going from a troubled situation to one a lot worse. Tax revolts and Tea Parties rule. Go for it, Alaskan Lady! – if you don’t, there are Republicans who will.

It IS amazing! The left are such a bunch of mindless bots that they have to criticize everything which doesn’t fit into their “mold”. Palin was right when when she stated “How sad that Washington and the media will never understand; it’s about country,” Her moves terrorize the left because she wont play by their rules…she embodies everything they despise, God, Country and self-respect. Any good strategist knows the concept of hitting them where & when they least expect it.
