In no particular order…
- No one expects us to agree on everything. But we are expected to govern with integrity, good will, clear convictions, and… a servant’s heart.
- At its most basic level, conservatism is a respect for history and tradition, including traditional moral principles. I do not believe I am more moral, certainly no better, than anyone else, and conservatives who act “holier than thou” turn my stomach. So do some elite liberals. But I do believe in a few timeless and unchanging truths, and chief among those is that man is fallen. This world is not perfect, and politicians will never make it so. This, above all, is what informs my pragmatic approach to politics.
- Personal integrity is making a hard decision and sticking with it. It’s about digging down deep and holding onto your faith, even when you don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.
- I know He hears me when I just call out to Him, which I do a lot. Oh, yes, I pray. I talk to God every day. I’ve put my life, so I put my day, into God’s hands, and I just ask for guidance and wisdom and grace to get through one situation after another.
- Americans expect us to go to Washington for the right reasons and not just to mingle with the right people. Politics isn’t just a game of clashing parties and competing interests. The right reason is to challenge the status quo, to serve the common good, and to leave this nation better than we found it.
- Government cannot make you happy or healthy or wealthy or wise.
- I always tell my kids that God doesn’t drive parked cars, so we’ll talk about getting on the next road and gearing up for hard work to travel down it to reach new goals.
- Everything I’ve ever needed to know I learned through sports.
- Let’s do what our parents told us before we probably even got that first credit card. Don’t live outside of our means.
- I believe in the strength and the power of women, and the potential of every human life.

Location of the Fort is at the mouth of the Niagara where it comes into Lake Ontario above. It is directly across from then British Fort George, Ontario Canada in Niagara-on-the Lake. Both forts were very active during the war of 1812. By that time, Old Fort Niagara was in the posession of the US.
Niagara-on-the Lake was the first capital of Canada. We burned it and in retribution, the British burned Washington.
Neither country gained an inch of territory during the War of 1812. Farmers left the fight in spring to plant; returned and left in fall to harvest and returned to fight on in winter.

VF this is pretty funny, I was just on Fox News and saw this story:
A pregnant mother gave birth moments after starting to prepare her Christmas dinner – and was back home in time to serve it up.
Paula Thomas, 29, was preparing a feast for her family in England on Christmas Day when she began to go into labor, The Sun reported.
She continued to baste the turkey in the oven until the contractions were just three minutes apart.
Her husband Damian, 32, took her to hospital and daughter Lexi was born one hour later.
She was back home in St Austell, Cornwall, a little more than an hour after giving birth – eating dinner and toasting the new arrival.
Paula Thomas, who is already the mother of twins Caitlin and Gabby, both 6, and Reece, 3, said: “No one could believe I’d come out so quickly. I really wanted my Christmas dinner – I was starving. I had prepared most of the dinner before I went into labor so everything was in the oven.”

Democrats Join Calls for Napolitano to Step Down Following Failed Attack
Some Democrats have joined in calling for Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to step down following the attempted bombing of a Northwest Airlines flight a week ago.
Though the CIA and an agency under the Director of National Intelligence have been under particular scrutiny in the preliminary review of possible missteps, Napolitano so far has taken the most heat from lawmakers. Not only does her department oversee the Transportation Security Administration, but her initial claim Sunday that “the system worked” was widely ridiculed and interpreted by critics as a sign that she’s in over her head.
Some Republicans, who’ve taken issue with her in the past for calling terrorist acts “man-caused disasters” and other remarks, started calling for her ouster in the spring. The failed bombing on Christmas Day revived those calls.
Now Democrats have joined the chorus.
New Jersey State Senate President Richard Codey, a Democrat, wrote a letter to Napolitano this week calling on her to step down. He said Napolitano, an attorney and former Arizona governor, does not have the experience for the post she is in.
“We should have someone who doesn’t need to go in there and learn about terrorism, learn about security,” Codey told Fox News. “How close were these 300 people on this plane from losing their lives because homeland security broke down? Boy, it was really close.”
The Department of Homeland Security was created in the wake of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks and has grown into one of the largest Cabinet departments in the federal government. Charged with keeping the nation safe from terrorist attacks and responding to natural disasters, it covers the TSA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and a slew of other agencies.
Codey said a candidate “well-versed” in intelligence should step into the job.
Democratic strategist Dan Gerstein also said Napolitano’s response to the incident should be the last straw.
“I tend to think she will be pushed out in the next couple of months,” Gerstein, a former adviser to Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., said.
For now, the administration says it has absolute confidence in Napolitano. She is an active part of the internal review and on Thursday took additional steps to improve security at international airports.
She announced that she’s sending senior officials abroad to meet with leaders from international airports to review security measures. Napolitano said she is “fully committed to making whatever changes are necessary to protect the safety of the traveling public.”
Napolitano on Monday also clarified that she didn’t believe “the system worked” in the run-up to the attempted bombing, which failed because the explosive mixture used did not properly detonate. Napolitano said she was merely referring to the inter-agency cooperation in the aftermath of the attempt.
To Republicans who have lambasted the administration in recent days over its response, the White House accuses critics of playing political games.
“Unfortunately too many are engaged in the typical Washington game of pointing fingers and making political hay, instead of working together to find solutions to make our country safer,” Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer wrote on the White House blog.
Republicans, though, have not held back.
Republican Rep. Dan Burton, R-Ind., said Napolitano does not have the experience for the job, and her remarks only prove that she doesn’t take the terrorist threat as seriously as she should.
“She’s not doing her job,” Burton told Fox News.
Former New York Republican Sen. Alfonse D’Amato also said Napolitano should resign.
But other Democrats are urging lawmakers not to jump to conclusions when the internal review is only now getting underway.
Rep. Bill Pascrell, D-N.J., said that if it turns out the secretary dropped the ball then members of Congress will ask for her resignation.
“I’m not at that point yet,” he said.

My broken hip does not stop me from what I want to do. I am a tough and determined SOB. The weather was shitty but it did not stop me from having a good time. I hope you all had a great time as well. It’s 2010 now and there is an election less than a year away. I can’t wait to vote these traitors out of office.

Here’s a wakeup call:
Rooster on a llama’s back. The llama also puts out his bleat.
This is a MUST SEE. A rooster and a dog playing with a plush toy.
In the vid above – the rooster wins and ends up with the toy! They play like two dogs. The dog does play growling and playfully nips at the rooster and the rooster puts up with it. The rooster gets the toy in the end when he flaps his wings, grabs it and runs away with it to his “corner” where he prances in front of it proudly.
It is also funny to see the dog – when the rooster’s interest wanes, go up to the rooster and wave the toy in his face. As I said – a dog and a would-be dog or vice versa.

I think the attack shows us that Obama doesn’t care if 100 Americans die. His citizens. People should start preparing to take care of themselves. Obama’s psychosis (total void of empathy) means a rough and tumble future… Especially for the poor pricks that hang on him like gnats and wait for him to make their lives better.
I think if we chose a person, not just out of the phone book, but at random- out of prison, we’d get a more sane, intelligent CiC….
