Sen Nelson now ALL ABOARD for ObamaCare cloture vote

I watched as Senator Ben Nelson made his announcement he is now “All Aboard” For ObamaCare.

Ok, so Nelson has been bought off with changes on abortion that he says satisfies him, plus a grant to his home state to defray the burden of State liability for Medicaid short falls created by ObamaCare.

What about the other states, Senator? What about the other states?

ObamaCare will rip off $500 Billion from Medicare… what about that Senator Nelson? Think that will work?

WHAT ABOUT THAT???

These Lying Asshats will get FIRED! 2010/2012

If he didn’t get “all aboard” I have the reason to believe his life would be in danger. That’s how Obama and folks roll… Marxist Dictators.

Following in the footsteps of Hitler and Stalin, Obama obviously thinks that telling a Big Lie often enough will fool most of the people.

Is our President, and America itself, becoming laughingstock of the world to be ignored and dismissed, if not ridiculed, as Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro have? The world has taken measure of the man and he has fallen short.

Chavez calls Obama “the devil” and that, using his favorite way to describe the odor of American President, he smells of sulfur. Even Fidel Castro mocks him .

Then other world leaders “include him out” of meetings that he has to invite himself into to by barging in. The Iranians have swatted away his outstretched hand by depicting him as no better than George Bush.

Of course, the way he has mistreated allies – ignoring Prime Minister Gordon Brown (who had to force his own meeting with the President by meeting him in a kitchen), sending the bust of Winston Churchill back across the pond; stiffing the Dalai Lama, ignoring the work of allied nations that led to the tearing down on the Berlin Wall and the downfall of communism, and throwing various former allies under the bus does not engender trust or loyalty. He stabbed Alice Palmer, his mentor, in the back as he used legal challenges to knock her off the ballot during a race that he wanted to win. The list could go on..and will in the years ahead.

  17. rosehips says:

morning peeps! hope I didn’t miss you all.

I’m trying to figure out what in the remaining bill will help struggling Americans. Will individuals without group insurance be able to join a co-op to purchase it? Will we be able to purchase our pharmaceuticals from Canada? It is ludicrous that Canada can sell prescription drugs for so much less. Why? Because the gov’t purchases in bulk. I think this would be a good thing for Americans if our gov’t did the same.

The subsidies in the bill will help keep some people from bankruptcy and welfare. That is good, I think.

The mandate will never be acceptable.

So if noone likes this bill, what would be a better alternative? To do nothing? I believe that most Americans still think reform is needed. But what would it look like?

Blue print for Obamacare, written by ex-Con, Robert Creamer in prison…

•“We must create a national consensus that health care is a right, not a commodity; and that government must guarantee that right.”

•“We must create a national consensus that the health care system is in crisis.”

•“Our messaging program over the next two years should focus heavily on reducing the credibility of the health insurance industry and focusing on the failure of private health insurance.”

“We need to systematically forge relationships with large sectors of the business/employer community.”

•“We need to convince political leaders that they owe their elections, at least in part, to the groundswell of support of [sic] universal health care, and that they face political peril if they fail to deliver on universal health care in 2009.”

•“We need not agree in advance on the components of a plan, but we must foster a process that can ultimately yield consensus.”

•“Over the next two years, we must design and organize a massive national field program.”

•“We must focus especially on the mobilization of the labor movement and the faith community.”

•“We must systematically leverage the connections and resources of a massive array of institutions and organizations of all types.”

•“To be successful, we must put in place commitments for hundreds of millions of dollars to be used to finance paid communications and mobilization once the battle is joined.”

I don’t think that will survive the final bill. All they need is this framework bill, then they can alter it at will.

  26. rosehips says:

thanks for reposting Creamer’s manifesto. I wanted to refer to this: •“We must create a national consensus that the health care system is in crisis.”

I believe there is a consensus that our system is in crisis. So if Obama’s bill isn’t the answer, what is?

  27. m2 says:

Why do we need the “Federal” gov’t anyway. That’s the point of local/State government. The Federal government is what is allowing the Corruption on both Wall Street and in the Capital. They are monarchs.

Too bad we committed in Suicide.

  29. VotingFemale says:

    Good Morning Rosehips!

  30. m2 says:

Are you suffering from the crisis right now?

The concensus you see is based on their “propaganda” of making you think the system is in crisis.

If it is in crisis… why does it start in 2014?

Do you know what is in crisis, life support right now? Jobs and our Debt. The killing of the private sector to assume rule, is gonna be the death of this nation.

  31. rosehips says:

    hey VF!

m2, I am not suffering but I know people who are. I may be affected here shortly as I am on state subsidized (and actually now federally subsidized) health insurance but our governor just announced the state has to cut the program entirely, at least temporarily.

I have friends who sold their business a couple years ago and their net income is now less than their insurance premiums/deductible ($10,000) so they had to cancel.

I also have friends without insurance. My oldest son has no insurance. It’s simply cost prohibitive.

  32. rosehips says:

and m2, I think that the time gap between passing the bill and putting it in effect is ridiculous.

  33. SamHenry says:

M2 It doesn’t start until 2014 because they are waiting for another large number of oldies like me to die before they have to cover us. LOL

Probably doesn’t start because they have to get nailed down procedures, the administration of it, etc. It may take longer than they realize.

    Gooooood morning everyone.

  34. m2 says:

yeah but that’s not a crisis. The reform put forth by Republican’s alone would have created competition and lowered cost. They could stand to be more open, and debate for a few months at the very least, especially if they are not going to do anything systemic (except tax the living crap out of us) until the opportune 2014. And I mean, that’s only because if they enact it sooner, it costs more, and also the elderly will see cuts.

    No crisis.
    Just a sham.

The crisis is putting Obama in the white house.

He’s killing the nation with his spending and fascist takeover of the private sector.

  35. m2 says:

Not true SH. It doesn’t start until after re-election because they can’t come under a trillion.

the real price tag is 2.5 Trillion though.

SH says: Probably doesn’t start because they have to get nailed down procedures, the administration of it, etc. It may take longer than they realize.

  36. SamHenry says:

I am very concerned about your coverage and that of your son, Rose. I hope something will happen to change that. It is immoral.

  37. rosehips says:

another thing I support is, I forget the term, for policies to be continued if you move out of state. I don’t think this would be possible without a federal bill. When I consider moving, losing my health insurance is a major obstacle for me to leave the state. But I wouldn’t expect the state to continue my policy. I just would be sh!t outta luck.

  38. m2 says:

If they put it into effect now… instead of just taxing everyone, the elderly will be denied care because of cuts in reimbursements to doctors and hospitals.

It’s pretty obvious this isn’t about healthcare but about Dictatorial Control.

As once they get (maybe the last vote) in 2012, they don’t give a shit about “old people”… in fact, they want them to die because their the only people that remember history and the fight for freedom in WW2, and Communism.

  39. m2 says:

But I mean, why isn’t your son covered Rosehips? When I was a single adult and unemployed I bought an individual plan. It costs about 50 bucks a month.

  40. SamHenry says:

Im really tired of so much legislation being passed that will soak the rich and give it to the poor. I agree there is excess in pay, etc. That needs correcting but to tax the transfer of a family farm when they are just getting by, etc. is nuts.

When you rob from the rich to give to the poor, you rob the rich from incentive to do well. And you rob the poor of incentive to make a better life for themselves knowing it will just be taken from them.

We live under global Socialism Already.

However, the good news I am seeing more and more LIBERALS against Obama and what is happening. I was one of those “I resemble that remark.” (Yogi Bear)

  41. m2 says:

    It’s not immoral… it’s about choice.

It cost me 50 bucks because I was young and healthy… so couldn’t he do that?

  42. SamHenry says:

M2 cuts to medicare have made me part of the throwaway generation.

  43. rosehips says:

Hey SH! Thanks for your concern. My son will be okay because he has nothing to lose. The system does take care of the indigent.

I will most likely be fine too, barring illness, accident, or insanity. heehee

If I go insane I will just move to the city with a sign and a cup and find a shopping cart for the stuff I can’t bring myself to sell or part with. Actually, I think I will need a train of shopping carts. hahahah

  44. m2 says:

Plus you have a historical memory SamHenry…

the thing Totalitarian Leftists want is a dumbed down ignorant population… and a population who doesn’t remember the “greatness” of our Country is a good thing to them.

  45. SamHenry says:

My website is being hacked by those loons over at loonwatch. What can I do?

  46. m2 says:

what does that mean when they hack it? Do they go in and change words and post things?

  47. rosehips says:

m2, from what I understand, premiums have more than doubled since you were his age. I really have no idea how much it would cost, but I know he won’t pay it. Like many poor Americans, he will go to the emergency room if he needs care and the hospital will end up getting stuck with the bill. This raises costs to everyone else. It is a bad system.

  48. m2 says:

uhhh… actually, I have to go… do some errands… bbl… ho ho ho.

    or should I say O, O, O.

  49. rosehips says:

  50. m2 says:

I mean I had friends that didn’t buy insurance. I think if you go to an insurance broker… (which is what our family did for our HSA), you can get a deal of “catastrophic coverage” for Cheap.

It’s responsibility and priorities, imo. To each their own, but had we done the Conservative fix- this not very bad problem would be very resolved.

No, no… lets just destroy the country instead and kill the old people and children.

  51. m2 says:

Fraud in Europe’s Cap and Trade System a ‘Red Flag,’ Critics Say

    By Joshua Rhett Miller

    – FOXNews.com

The top cops in Europe say carbon-trading is an organized crime scheme that has robbed the continent of $7.4 billion — a massive fraud that lawmakers and energy experts say should send a “red flag” to the U.S., which approved cap-and-trade legislation over the summer amid stiff opposition.

  56. samiam60 says:

The top cops in Europe say carbon-trading has fallen prey to an organized crime scheme that has robbed the continent of $7.4 billion — a massive fraud that lawmakers and energy experts say should send a “red flag” to the U.S., where the House approved cap-and-trade legislation over the summer amid stiff opposition.

In a statement released last week, the Europol police agency said Europe’s cap-and-trade system has been the victim of organized crime during the past 18 months, resulting in losses of roughly $7.4 billion. The agency, headquartered in the Netherlands, estimated that in some countries up to 90 percent of the entire market volume was caused by fraudulent activities.

“These criminal activities endanger the credibility of the European Union Emission Trading System and lead to the loss of significant tax revenue for governments,” Rob Wainwright, Europol’s director, said in a statement.

Launched in 2005, the Emission Trading System seeks to reduce greenhouse gas emissions — which many scientists believe contribute to global warming — by allocating carbon pollution allowances to member states to fulfill its obligations under the U.N.’s Kyoto Protocol. Companies that emit less than their allowance can sell the difference on the trading market to firms that exceed their established limits.

But, according to a diagram of the scheme provided by Europol officials, the accused traders would open an account in a national carbon registry and then purchased emission allowances without value added taxes from other companies in other countries. Those allowances were then transferred to the country where they were registered before the accused trader moves them to an unregulated broker, selling the allowances on a trading exchange, often through various buffer companies. Finally, the accused trader charges the value added tax on the transaction but does not submit that money to authorities.

France has reportedly launched a criminal probe into four men who allegedly took part in the scheme, two of whom have been jailed.

It’s a lesson to be learned, critics of cap-and-trade say. Creating such a system in the United States would invite “corruption, illegality and criminal activity,” much as it has in Europe, said Max Schulz, senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute.

“This is the problem with politicians trying to create a market for something that the free market otherwise doesn’t value,” Schulz said. “An emissions trading market is an artificially, politically-created market….

“If we pass a system like Europe has, we’re going to get all the problems Europe has experienced,” he said. “You’re asking for a lot of problems.”

U.S. Rep. Joe Barton, R-Texas, ranking member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, said it’s no surprise cap-and-trade systems are vulnerable to corruption.

Barton said he recently asked the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California to unseal the court file of Anne Sholtz, a former environmental executive who co-created the Regional Clean Air Incentives Market (RECLAIM) in 1999. Sholtz’s company, Automated Credit Exchange, provided a market for companies to buy and sell pollution credits under RECLAIM. In 2005, Sholtz pleaded guilty to wire fraud for using counterfeit credits to pocket more than $12 million. Sholtz was later sentenced to one year of house arrest. (Barton wrote about Sholtz earlier this year for TheHill.com.)

“We already know from an example in California that cap-and-trade systems are vulnerable to fraud, so the discovery of potential fraud in Europe shouldn’t surprise anyone in America,” Barton said in a statement. “What happened in California is that not much thought was given to the possibility that people with questionable intentions could manipulate the system. The case has drawn fresh attention because it looks like the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Justice still may not understand how to stop a vastly more destructive, Bernie Madoff-like scheme from taking advantage if the nationwide cap-and-trade system is approved by Congress.”

Diana Furchtgott-Roth, the former chief economist for the U.S. Department of Labor and now a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, said she was concerned with political favoritism as much as outright fraud if a cap-and-trade system is implemented.

“Depending on how many emission allowances you have to purchase and how many emission allowances you are given, you can be a winner or a loser,” she said. “It’ll be an opportunity for corruption, not by tax avoidance but by political corruption, both on the state level and the national level.”

Furchtogott-Roth said the fraud allegations are a “real example” of why any carbon-trading system in the U.S. should not include a value added tax (VAT).

But such a scheme won’t happen stateside, namely because a value added tax won’t be part of any carbon-trading system in the United States, said William Whitesell, director of policy research at the Center for Clean Air Policy, a Washington-based nonprofit think tank.

“We don’t have a value added tax in this country, but there will be attempts [to defraud a carbon-trading system], so we have to have a robust regulatory framework around a carbon market,” Whitesell told FoxNews.com. “But we don’t want to throw out the baby with the bath water.”

Whitesell cited the massive fraud of disgraced trader Bernie Madoff as evidence that potential fraud doesn’t negate the potential benefits of a cap-and-trade system, which would “reduce the cost of controlling carbon,” he said.

“You don’t close the stock market because of fraud,” he said. “You increase regulations.”

FAIRFAX, Va. – As Erick Williamson sees it, being naked is liberating, and if passers-by get an eyeful while he’s standing in front of a picture window, that’s not his problem.

A Fairfax County judge saw it a little differently Friday, convicting Williamson of indecent exposure in a case that has raised questions about what’s OK when you’re in your own home.

  89. rosehips says:

yes sami, a woman’s place is in the bedroom and a man’s place is in the gutter. haha

  91. VotingFemale says:

SamHenry, that “pulsation” is an artifact of you turning on Snow Flakes on your blog, dear.

  107. rosehips says:

yeah sami, I know about that desperation thing. Who wants to take on the baggage and latent emotions of the desperate? Hold out for more. I wish I could assure you that the wait will be worth it.

DOG has to rush into town on a errand. BBL

Her mom and dad will be at our Christmas dinner then pick her up. The computer really messed up the week. I was supposed to be working on one of the upstairs rooms.

Most of today and tomorrow have been taking care of Christmas. Sorry for being a no show. Been missing you guys.

BTW, I’m on call Christmas which is why I’m having it tomorrow.

Do You Feel Like We Do Lyrics
    Peter Frampton

Well, woke up this morning with a wine glass in my hand.
Whose wine? What wine? Where the hell did I dine?
Must have been a dream I don’t believe where I’ve been.
Come on, let’s do it again.

Do you…you, feel like I do?
    How’d ya feel?
Do you…you, feel like I do?

My friend got busted, just the other day.
They said,”Don’t walk, don’t walk, don’t walk away.”
Drove him to a taxi, bent the boot, hit the bag.
Had to play some music, wonder why’s he [brag or drag].

Do you…you, feel like I do?
How’d ya [turns from mic, can’t catch it]?
    Do you…you, feel like I…

    [1st guitar solo]

Do you…you, feel like I do?
    Yes ya do.
Do you…you, feel like I do?

Champagne for breakfast and a Sherman in my hand.
Peached up, Peached Ale, never fails.
Must have been a dream I don’t believe where I’ve been.
Come on, let’s do it again.

Do you…you, feel like I do?
    How’d ya feel?
    Do you…you, feel like I…

    [keyboard solo]

“Bob Mayo, on the keyboards. Bob Mayo”

Do you feel like we do?
Do you feel like we do?
    Oh, that’s true.
Do you feel like we do?
    Get back.
Do you feel..do you feel like we do?

    [2nd guitar solo]

    [start voice box]

    Oh baby do you feel?
Oh baby do you feel, feel like we do?
Do you feel…do you feel…like we do?
    I want to thank you.
Do you feel like we do?
That’s alright, that’s alright to feel you’d like,
Feel you’d like, a good time.
We’ll goto bed and good night.
Good time, good time, good time, good time, good time.

  124. samhenry says:

CAT – do you mean that Senator Lieberman had to get out of Dodge?

He knew the game was up. He’s our man. But he also deserved to go home for Shabas (spelling). Isn’t it still Hanukkah? He has sacrificed enough. He may want to think some other things through who knows. The evil lurks in the minds of the Democrats and the witch of the West Wing, Nancy Pelosi

  126. Foxwood says:

The only time I remember the term Sherman, other that the tank and the general, was when I lived in Phoenix, the hookers would have MJ cigarettes dipped in mushroom or peyote juice.

I didn’t have hookers over. I lived in the same apartment complex and they were my neighbors. We had alot of parties. 🙂

  127. LisaInTX says:

They all sound like whores IMO…..
Is there ANY left in congress that has a clue about the CODE OF ETHICS, what it says and means?
It is to the point that individuals states may have NO choice in this ‘survival of the fittest, but to secede to save their own states from economic destruction.
Of course when the south did that during the civil war, it did not end well for us, but 2nd time might be a charm—lol

  128. Foxwood says:

I can remember the 4th of July,
    runnin’ through the backwood bare

  129. samhenry says:

There you are Lisa – I was just stepping into the harbor master’s launch to go ashore. I am gathering all of our stockings to hang on the halyards for Rose Santa to fill. I notice yours is a large as your 10 gallon hat. Lucky kids in Texas. Mine was always, well, smallish.

I am not totally infirm to need a walker all year – just in winter. You should see my new one – hot dang, looks like a Trek bike. Has brakes on the handle bars, it’s maroon and black and has a neat seat that folds with cargo storage underneath. I could live in the thing. I think I’ll just set myself up in the magizine aisle of the supermarket and wait for all of my friends to go by!

Off subject but to return – I have talked with NORMAL people here and they think there will be some kind of revolution – with or without shooting. The Democrats have gone too far. This Obama is out of control.

  130. Foxwood says:

If this thing passes, it looks like Nebraska is the place to live out your old age.

  131. Kynikos says:

Samhenry, I suggest you paint some skulls and flames on that walker. Also consider straight pipes, it will keep the weasels out of the garden.

  132. Kynikos says:

would rather forget the police raid on the apartment tho…

  137. Foxwood says:

  138. rosehips says:

dang peeps. I missed you all. especially wish I was here when kinky was!

thanks for the music and the memories! I can’t listen now cuz my son is watching Hurricane. I am cooking something dangerous. haha Morrocan chicken with onions and prunes.
    can’t wait.
SH, I will be on board shortly to fill the stockings. I crawled into my storage crawl space/attic three times today searching for our stockings and my collection of flocked ornaments, which I sometimes collect. I looked everywhere including my basement. I almost gave up but looked a little more and eureka! now our stockings are hung and my flocked ornaments are hanging. all is good.

Sorry I missed you lisa but I saw all your posts last night altho I didn’t have time to view the vids.

    gotta go. love u all.

  139. rosehips says:

  140. Foxwood says:

    Open a roll of sausage,
Add 1 tbsp of dried basil (I grew it in my garden)
    1 tbsp of dried oregeno
1 tbsp of fennel seed, crushed
    1 tbsp of crushed garlic
    mix with sausage
roll sausage up into meatballs (just big enough to fit the end of manicotti) and cook till done.

Chop half a lb of spinach
add 1 lb of cottage cheese (my preference over ricotta)
    and 1 egg
    mix in bowl.

Cook manicotti as per instructions on package
    put meatball in one end
stuff manicotti with cottage cheese, spinach, egg mixture
    put meatball in other end

pour your favorite sauce over the top (I make a red sauce using tomatoes, mushrooms, olives, oregano, basil, fennel, and garlic.)

Put in oven for 30 minutes.

  141. Foxwood says:

He also said the bill includes “massive tax increases” at a time of double-digit unemployment.
