commenter’s post: Ten examples of Conservative “extremism”

When the inmates run the asylum, and the craziest one notes: I am far different from them.

All I can say is “Thank you.”

Yes. we are extremely far from the Socialist/Marxist bent of Obama.

We believe in the power of individual over the power of the state.

It is not us who are extreme, when related to this country and in what believes, it is him.

It is the basis on which this country was founded.

People, and their efforts, need to be seen as more than as suppliers of wealth to feed the voracious appetite of the leadership and it’s plans.

Ten examples of mainstream American Extremism

  1. We are extreme because we believe that a person’s wages for his work belong to him, not the government.
  2. We are extreme because we believe in individual choice not government mandate.
  3. We are extreme because we believe power flows from the people to it’s leadership, not from it’s leadership to the people.
  4. We are extreme because we believe in “we the people” not some mindless government agency.
  5. We are extreme because we believe the color and shape of our skin should not reflect our opportunity or ability and certainly not our vote.
  6. We are extreme because we reject the idea that the Government has the right to invade our life, liberty, or pursuit of happiness
  7. We are extreme because we believe government seldom has the right answer.
  8. We are extreme because we believe in Free enterprise over government control
  9. We are extreme because we believe that the government should not give incentives to individuals who can, but refuse, to work.
  10. We are extreme because we believe in a government that works for the people not for a larger government.

Citation for this article is given to Orca, a commenter on my blog, who says “My words, but taken from the words our country was founded on. I have an eleventh but it more in the way of a quote:

“Real political power flows from the keyboard of the bloggers,
    not from a controlled media.”

A statement of conservative bloggers’ creed:

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the socialists of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the government halls.

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of conservatism, and having shod your feet with the preparation of peace.

Above all, taking the shield of faith in the candidate you have selected with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked ones.

And, take the helmet of the keyboard and the sword of the blog which is on the internet.

CHILLING LETTER FROM PROCTOR & GAMBLE TO OBAMA

By Lou Pritchett, Procter & Gamble

A LETTER FROM A PROCTER AND GAMBLE EXECUTIVE TO THE PRESIDENT*

THE LAST SENTENCE IS THE MOST CHILLING

Lou Pritchett is one of corporate America’s true living legends- an acclaimed author, dynamic teacher and one of the world’s highest rated speakers. Successful corporate executives everywhere recognize him as the foremost leader in change management.

Lou changed the way America does business by creating an audacious concept that came to be known as “partnering.” Pritchett rose from soap salesman to Vice-President, Sales and Customer Development for Procter and Gamble and over the course of 36 years, made corporate history.

    AN OPEN LETTER TO
    PRESIDENT OBAMA

    Dear President Obama:

You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike
any of the others, you truly scare me.

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive
Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no
    visible signs of support.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth
growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus
don’t understand it at its core.

You scare me because you lack humility and ‘class’, always blaming others.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned
yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to
publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail..

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the ‘blame America ‘
crowd and deliver this message abroad.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style
country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system
    with a government controlled one.

You scare me because you prefer ‘wind mills’ to responsibly
capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose

that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of
    living in the world.

You scare me because you have begun to use ‘extortion’ tactics
    against certain banks and corporations.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from
challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider
opposing points of view from intelligent people.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both
    omnipotent and omniscient.

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything
    you do.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the
Limbaugh’s, Hannity’s, O’Reillys and Becks who offer opposing,
    conservative points of view.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will
probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years.

    Lou Pritchett

This letter was sent to the NY Times but they never acknowledged it.
Big surprise. Since it hit the internet, however, it has had over
500,000 hits. Keep it going. All that is necessary for evil to succeed
is that good men do nothing. It’s happening right now.*

What scares me is that he told us he wanted to transform this country and nobody heard him or did not know what he was saying. I heard him nobody listened to me.

    One more for the road
We are extremely unhappy with obama and what he has done to the USA
Years from now, it will be interesting on how history will treat him.
If it presents him as a great potus rest assured we will be a weak nation probably operating only at the whim of another nation.
If it shows him to be what we believe him to be, then we will have survived as a country and as a nation.

Tellit, Obama will no doubt be defended by the lamestream media as the first president to suffer a “nervous breakdown” as a result of being “victimized” out of his presidency in 2010 by a racist country who also refused to buy that “he’s a Christian” BS. lol

Orca… the lamestream media is still trying to revise the history of the Carter administration…

CBS Begins Media’s Rehabilitation of ‘Fantastic’ Jimmy Carter, ‘Cursed’ Presidency Actually More Successful Than Reagan’s

CBS broke into summer re-runs of 60 Minutes to let Lesley Stahl promote Jimmy Carter’s new book, White House Diary, which he maintained delivers “absolute unadulterated frankness” and which she described as an “often harsh critique” of his presidential term. She, however, was far from harsh toward him. Noting an “image of ‘a failed President’ haunts the Carters,” Stahl trumpeted: “Carter argues that despite the image of failure, he actually had a long list of successes, starting with bringing all the hostages home alive,” as if that wasn’t because of Ronald Reagan’s inauguration. Stahl proceeded to tout as a success his installation of “solar panels on the roof of the White House.” Absolving Carter of responsibility, Stahl contended he “was cursed by a dismal economy, poor relations with Congress, and a nightmarish standoff over 52 Americans held hostage by Iran.” Yet, “when all is said and done, and many will be surprised to hear this,” Stahl insisted, “Jimmy Carter got more of his programs passed than Reagan and Nixon, Ford, Bush 1, Clinton or Bush 2.”

    The Obama Economy!

When one in seven Americans is in poverty, it’s time to give
By MARK JORGENSON and PATRICK “DUKE” DUJAKOVICH

    Read more: http://www.kansascity.com/2010/09/19/2235264/when-one-in-seven-americans-is.html#ixzz107aX0yrb

Poverty statistics released by the U.S. Census Bureau last week are sobering. More than 43.6 million Americans found themselves living in poverty during 2009, the highest number since the Census Bureau began keeping such data 51 years ago. One in seven Americans lived in poverty last year. But numbers don’t convey the personal nightmares of so many American families these last few years.

We all know, even love, someone who has struggled to find a job or had to settle for drastic pay cuts. And many of those jobs don’t include health insurance. The latest census figures estimate nearly 51 million Americans last year lived without health insurance, mostly because they lost jobs in this recession. While living without insurance doesn’t necessarily equate to poverty, it does mean a health care emergency can drain a family’s savings and push them over the edge.

Statewide census figures show that 15.5 percent of Missourians and 13.7 percent of Kansans had household incomes below the poverty level last year, which was $21,954 for a family of four. That means an additional 174,000 people fell into poverty in Missouri and Kansas during 2009.

Although local census figures won’t be released for another week, there are indications that the situation in Greater Kansas City mirrors state and national trends. In the first half of this year the number of people seeking assistance by calling United Way 2-1-1 increased 23 percent. More than 60 percent of those calls were from people seeking such basic needs as rent or mortgage assistance, food for their families or help paying delinquent utility bills. Many were in danger of having their utilities shut off or becoming homeless. These statistics reinforce the need for United Way right now. They are the reason those of us who have jobs and health insurance should be thankful for our good fortune and step up to help our neighbors by giving.

United Way is one of the most efficient and effective ways to help those in need, supporting more than 310 local health and human service programs, many of which form the safety net for our community. Some focus on helping people cope with immediate crisis, while others are aimed at providing people with the skills and tools needed to build a better future.

This year, United Way of Greater Kansas City has set a goal of recruiting 25,000 new donors. Quite simply, it will require all of us to help meet our community’s growing needs. If you aren’t already giving to United Way, we encourage you to consider doing so. If you are retired or work at a company that doesn’t run a United Way campaign, you can make a pledge online at unitedwaygkc.org. If you have given to United Way in the past, we thank you and ask you to continue to be generous.

By working together, we can create opportunities for all in Greater Kansas City to reach their full potential, no matter what challenges they have faced during these last few years. As volunteers, we’ve learned firsthand that nothing feels better than giving to make a difference in the lives of others. But even more importantly, after seeing these poverty statistics, we are more convinced than ever that it’s the right thing to do.

Mark Jorgenson, the regional president and CEO of U.S. Bank in Kansas City, and Patrick “Duke” Dujakovich, the president of the Greater Kansas City AFL-CIO, are the 2010 campaign co-chairmen of United Way of Greater Kansas City. Jorgenson lives in Shawnee; Dujakovich lives in Kansas City
