Obama will bring on an Unemployment Czar to oversee a new Federal Unemployment Bureau designed to turn Unemployment into a Career Choice thus lowering Unemployment numbers to Zero.
There will also be College Grants available to minorities only for the purpose of training for the challenges of being unemployed.

well I knew it would happen sooner or later… my Dell Inspiron laptop finally pooped out yesterday. Video is now DOA.
The darn computer had a major design flaw… which caused heat build up after several years of use. I have used it for most of 4+ years and have nursed it along for several years but alas it finally gave up.
Am using a non-laptop system now but all my account setups are on the dead laptop. grrr
this is going to mean days of work getting this system to my liking and needs.
But, I knew all this was coming eventually… so was emotionally prepared. This system has far superior hardware compared to what the Dell Inspiron had and that laptop was no slouch by any means.
have to install MS updates… this system is way behind in updates.

Well… it is simply a matter of transferring and/or installing and/or moving stuff off the disk of the laptop to this system. I need to get a cable so I can remove the laptop’s hard drive and install it on this system so I can get to the files on it.
This system already has two hard disks and the second one is a new solid state disk, AKA an SSD, and is a replacement for the mechanical hard drives in most people’s computers. Presently the boot disk is mechanical because the SSD is not set up and does not have the operating system on it yet. Hubs got two SSDs at half price from work; one for him and one for me.
These SSDs are the wave of the future and makes the computer totally scalding fast when it is set up and used as the primary/boot disk. When booting from it, Windows loads like in 2 seconds. No kidding. You should see his system boot up and also loading programs. It is insane how fast it is. With that said, both of our desktop systems have 4 gig of ram which makes no small contribution to an increase of speed as compared to previously having only 1 gig of ram.

It is going to take time and work to get the SSD set up as the primary/boot disk which includes installing windows on it. Lot of work in the future but I will chip away at it a bit at a time as time permits and switch it out with the present mechanical boot disk.

SSD current load is much lower and its internal resistance is a lot higher thus the generation of heat is a lot less. That all bodes well for laptops and reduction of their battery drain rate.

the desktop system went belly up. wont boot even to bios. All I get is the motherboard splash screen and it hangs there. Not a good sign. I am currently using the laptop which came up with video working again. sigh
I hate computers sometimes.
mmm… I went looking on the laptop modes and discovered the high res mode I have been using low the entire time I have had it is not considered ‘supported.’
I switched to display supported modes only and video heat is way down. duh… also changed power setting to leave the video on forever if on house power.
Will have to see if this solves the disappearing video problem. hope so.
Meanwhile… God only knows what is up with the desktop system.

Video Shows USDA Official Saying She Didn’t Give ‘Full Force’ of Help to White Farmer

Days after the NAACP clashed with Tea Party members over allegations of racism, a video has surfaced showing an Agriculture Department official regaling an NAACP audience with a story about how she withheld help to a white farmer facing bankruptcy — video that now has forced the official to resign.
Shirley Sherrod, the department’s Georgia director of Rural Development, is shown in the clip describing “the first time I was faced with having to help a white farmer save his farm.” Sherrod, who is black, claimed the farmer took a long time trying to show he was “superior” to her. The audience laughed as she described how she determined his fate.
“He had to come to me for help. What he didn’t know while he was taking all that time trying to show me he was superior to me was I was trying to decide just how much help I was going to give him,” she said. “I was struggling with the fact that so many black people have lost their farmland and here I was faced with having to help a white person save their land — so I didn’t give him the full force of what I could do. I did enough.”
The Agriculture Department announced Monday, shortly after FoxNews.com published its initial report on the video, that Sherrod had resigned.
“There is zero tolerance for discrimination at USDA, and I strongly condemn any act of discrimination against any person,” Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said in a written statement. “We have been working hard through the past 18 months to reverse the checkered civil rights history at the department and take the issue of fairness and equality very seriously.
Sherrod explained in the video that, at the time, she assumed the state or national Department of Agriculture had referred the white farmer to her. In order to ensure that the farmer could report back that she was indeed helpful, she said she took him to see “one of his own” — a white lawyer.
“I figured that if I take him to one of them, that his own kind would take care of him,” she said.
The point of the story wasn’t entirely clear; only an excerpt of the speech is included in the video clip.
“It was revealed to me that it’s about poor versus those who have,” she said, suggesting she had learned that race is less important.
The video clip was first posted by BigGovernment.com. The clip is dated March 27 from an NAACP Freedom Fund banquet.
The clip adds to the firestorm of debate over the NAACP’s decision to approve a resolution at its convention last week accusing some Tea Party activists of racism — a charge Tea Party leaders deny. FoxNews.com was unable to get a response to this story from the NAACP.
In a second clip from the same event posted online, Sherrod appeared to urge black job seekers to find work at the Department of Agriculture because the federal government won’t lay people off.
“There are jobs at USDA and many times there are no people of color to fill those jobs because we shy away from agriculture. We hear the word agriculture and think, why are we working in the fields?” she said. “You’ve heard of a lot of layoffs. Have you heard of anybody in the federal government losing their job? That’s all I need to say.”

Does President Obama have any idea what’s in his own health-care reform law?
Since he signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act a bit more than 100 days ago, the president has given a number of speeches and interviews in which he continues to say things that, well, just aren’t so. Just last Friday, he told MSNBC’s Chuck Todd that the law “not only makes sure everybody has access to coverage but is reducing costs.”
Wrong on both counts.

I am presently using the desktop system… turns out it will complete it’s booting… but only after an aprox 30 minute delay after power on. I suspect the BIOS battery is fooey.
I am thinking of a DroidX in the near future.
May not need this PC any longer if that can do all it is cracked up to do.
