To Moderate House DEMS: Grow some balls and stand with Majority Opposition to ObamaCare or else… your future hangs in the balanceI

Seems the final vote on ObamaCare hinges on the failure or success of Obama’s Snake Oil Salesmanship… accompanied with Chicago style wielding of pressure of the office of the president to do his bidding.

You do not depend on Obama for your political future… your fate is in the hands of your moderate constituents who expect you to vote for them as their Representative in Congress.

Obama is going down the tubes and you know it in your heart of hearts. If ObamaCare passes it will be accelerated.

He is already political toast and he wants you to believe he is something more than what he is.

There is much more money on the side of the Tea Party Movement than he and his leftist organizations can hope to muster. And he knows it. That is why he acted all PO’ed at the Supreme Court during the SOTU address.

It is not too late to do the right thing and vote NO TO OBAMACARE.

As soon as the vote is called by Pelosi, your fate will be sealed one way or the other.

Who do you fear most? A Socialist Snake Oil Salesman or the American Public?

Any play for pay for yea votes will be uncovered.

Every one of you who are culpable will suffer your act being stripped naked and exposed to the Public.

Public Political tarring and feathering comes to mind…

    Hello VF!

I want to copy this comment over:

We know about the Cornhusker deal, Lousiana purchased deal, special consideration for a number of states including Nevada and Massachusetts and now here is the Bismarck Bank deal starring Kent Conrad, D/ND

The health care bill as many know, includes an educational bill that has nothing-zip-zilch-nada to do with health. It makes student loans subject to the US government by elimination of federal subsidies to banks. It’s a popular liberal move to get votes from undecided (or uncommitted) liberals and it furthers liberals grab for power and big government agenda.

Not so fast. Senate Budget Chairman Kent Conrad doesn’t want to play that game, so he made a deal to keep subsidies for the Bank of North Dakota. “It’s unique” he says it is “owned by the people of North Dakota. … And they service the loans that they write, so they are not like these other institutions that have created this problem. They don’t farm out servicing of their loans. They retain it.”

There is nothing unique about the deal however, like Nelson and Landrieu, backroom deals are necessary if you want the vote. Pay for play–kinda like the Chicago Way.

Who’s next to have their moment of headlines and fame?

  7. ohiobelle says:

I just heard this on cspan. Alot of the sweetheart deals are job offerings once they lose their seat for voting yes to healthcare. The jobs that were mentioned was Administrator of NASA and US Embassador in NATO. I guess we wouldn’t find out about these sweetheart deals until long after the vote.

  8. ohiobelle says:

I still don’t know if Countrywide Dodd is getting the $100 million “hospital handout”.

I might as well take Kilroy off the list. She sells us out every single time.

  12. ohiobelle says:

I have been unable to contact any of them at their local offices and their DC numbers are all busy. I was able to talk to people at their local offices and told them I am against this bill. I was told that Kilroy is still undecided.

  13. Foxwood says:

Ok… I wasn’t able to comment a while ago. It said I didn’t give an email. I was logged in… Odd!

  14. Foxwood says:

They do NOT have the votes!

  15. ohiobelle says:

Fox, I was able to read the bill and it is worse than before. There are alot more cuts to Medicaid and alot more taxes.

They don’t want people to read this bill! They really screwed us over.

Do you think the Congressmen are reading this bill?? They better be.

  16. ohiobelle says:

I called Carneys office and they slammed the phone down. We need to keep putting the pressure on. They don’t have the votes.

    (b) COORDINATION WITH STATE LAW OF HAWAII.—The Commissioner shall, based
on ongoing consultation with the appropriate officials of the State of Hawaii, make
adjustments to rules and regulations of the Commissioner under this division as
may be necessary, as determined by the Commissioner, to most effectively coordinate
the provisions of this division with the provisions of the Hawaii Prepaid Health
Care Act, taking into account any changes made from time to time to the Hawaii
Prepaid Health Care Act and related laws of such State.

  26. Foxwood says:

The way I understand it, the bill you read, Belle is smoke and mirrors. Within the bill, or the vote, not sure, is the rule that says they deem the Senate bill passed. Palosi will separate the bill from the deemed passed Senate bill and send the deemed passed bill (Senate bill) to the President.

It’s unConstitutional, because Article VI Clause 2 in the Constitution says the exact bill has to be passed (not deemed passed) by both sides of Congress.

    Rules for Bullshit Bingo

    1. Before Barrack Obama’s next televised speech, prepare your “Bullshit
Bingo” card by drawing a square.
I find that 5″ x 5″ is a good size — and dividing it into columns –five
across and five down. That will give you 25 1-inch blocks.
    2. Write one of the following words/phrases in each block:

    . Restored our reputation
    . Strategic fit
    . Let me be clear
    . Make no mistake
    . Back from the brink
    . Signs of recovery
    . Out of the loop
    . Benchmark
    . Job creation
    . Fiscal restraint
    . Win-win
    . Affordable health care
    . Previous Administration
    . Greed on Wall Street
. At the end of the day
    . Empower (or empowerment)
    . Touch base
    . Mindset
    . Corporate greed
    . Ballpark
    . Game plan
    . Leverage
. Inherited as in “I inherited this mess”
. Relief for working families (alternate – “unprecedented”)

    3. Check off the appropriate block when you hear one of those
    words/phrases.
    4. When you get five blocks horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, stand
    up and shout “BULLSHIT!”

Testimonials from past satisfied “Bullshit Bingo” players:

“I had been listening to the speech for only five minutes when I won.” –
    Jack W., Boston

“My attention span during speeches has improved dramatically.” –
    David D., Florida

“What a gas! Speeches will never be the same for me after my first win.” –
    Bill R., New York City

“The atmosphere was tense in the last speech as 14 of us waited for the fifth box.” –
    Ben G., Denver

“The speaker was stunned as eight of us screamed “BULLSHIT!” for the third
time in two hours.” – Harry A, Kansas City

“This is the most fun I have ever had with my pants up!” –
    Robert H. Portland

Report: ACORN on the Verge of Bankruptcy

Officials from the group told the New York Times it is dealing with “mismanagement along with a severe loss of government and membership funds.”

  39. samiam60 says:

The liberal activist group ACORN is suffering from a steep loss of funding and will this weekend discuss plans to file for bankruptcy in a teleconference, the New York Times reported.

Officials from the group told the Times it is dealing with “mismanagement along with a severe loss of government and membership funds.”

The group is reeling from a disbanding of at least 15 of its 30 state chapters while its large New York and California chapters have set up fresh organizations.

ACORN, or the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, describes itself as an advocate for low-income and minority home buyers and residents.

The group has come under fire over the past six months for videos showing some ACORN workers giving tax tips to conservative activists posing as a pimp and prostitute.

ACORN’s financial situation and reputation went into free fall within days of the videos’ release in September. Congress reacted by yanking ACORN’s federal funding, private donors held back cash and scores of ACORN offices closed.

For years, ACORN could draw on 400,000 members to lobby for liberal causes, such as raising the minimum wage or adopting universal health care. Locally, its activists pushed city officials to fix broken street lights and it pressured banks to offer more favorable loans to low-income Americans. ACORN was arguably most successful at registering hundreds of thousands of low-income voters, though that mission was dogged by fraud allegations, including that some workers submitted forms signed by ‘Mickey Mouse’ or other cartoon characters.

I still wear my cnn ireporter tee shirt to bed sometimes.

or maybe you are talking about somebody else? Please tell me you didn’t mean me, because frankly I think that if you get your news primarily from FOX, you are in la la land. I don’t want to make you feel bad, although I fear I might. I’ve already been dissed here this week leaving me thinking that some peeps around here really don’t value my opinions very much at all. I may not agree with you, but of course I feel my views have validity. I don’t expect any of you to agree, but if my opinions are viewed as “full of holes” or misinformed, I guess maybe I should leave them to myself. I don’t want to embarrass myself.

Rosey, Your making me work. I’m trying to find the info on the Communist Party leader running for President in 1936 against FDR. When FDR started work on the NEW (Raw) DEAL, he got out of the race, saying that Roosevelt had much of his agenda taken.

You mentioned last week that the CPUSA liked Obutthole. Sound familiar. Even if Obutthole is not a Communist (you can’t convince me he’s not), he has taken much of their agenda.

  66. rosehips says:

and I defend no media but Free Speech tv and Democracy Now. and other media that does not accept advertising or depend on gov’t funding.

  67. Foxwood says:

Rosey, Did I mention last week I read The KOS and other extreme bullsh!t?

  68. Foxwood says:

But I get my real sources from REAL news.

  69. rosehips says:

I don’t know enough about CPUSA to comment. I think you are probably overstating. Can you be more specific about how Obama and the CPUSA are alligned?

foxy said: Even if Obutthole is not a Communist (you can’t convince me he’s not), he has taken much of their agenda.

  70. rosehips says:

and did I mention I DON’T read the KOS?

  71. rosehips says:

I guess “real” is a relative term.

  72. Foxwood says:

“Can you be more specific about how Obama and the CPUSA are alligned?”

I don’t mean alligned, Obutthole has the same agenda as CPUSA. As you say, that doesn’t make him a Communist, because CPUSA likes him, but if it quacks.

  73. rosehips says:

could you be more specific foxy? What agendas do they both have? I’m not asking what you think they have. I’m talking official agendas.

  74. rosehips says:

and by alligned I meant having the same agenda.

  75. Foxwood says:

    Healthcare
    spread the wealth

You don’t need much, Rosey, CPUSA likes him. You will not believe that the SEIU is ran by a Communist. What’s his face has spent more time in the WH than anyone. “Workers of the world unite” Communist saying said by the SEIU leader. Unions have always been pinko.

Obutthole is bypassing the Constitution to get his Communist plan in place. You will never believe Healthcare is the keystone to Socialism if Lenin crawled out of his grave and told you himself.

All the information I have given you the last two weeks is what Communist is about. You just have to listen.

  76. Foxwood says:

Did you read the 45 goals?

  77. Foxwood says:

Do you know what social justice means?

  78. rosehips says:

foxy, does CPUSA support the health reform bill?

  79. Foxwood says:

“Spread the wealth” does not mean free market.

“Spread the wealth” depresses the free market.

    “Spread the wealth” is intentional.

  80. Foxwood says:

“Medicine is the keystone to Socialism.” Lenin

  81. Foxwood says:

Everybody Obutthole has grown up with is or was Communist, including his mom, dad, and grandparents. He hires Communist, Marxists, etc into his administration. Healthcare is 20% of the economy and he is going to control it if this bill passes.

You can’t prove he’s a Communist, but he quacks.

  82. VotingFemale says:

So the House will vote to approve the health care bill on Sunday, the Senate will promptly polish off a “fix-it” bill, and this whole political nightmare will end — right?

    Not so fast.

Michigan Rep. Bart Stupak, an anti-abortion Democrat, is floating a plan to introduce an entirely separate bill — in addition to the main Senate bill and the House’s package of changes — to tighten restrictions on abortion funding. This would create a whole new set of votes that have to be cast before Congress can finish its work.

On top of that, Republican senators are warning that they will drag out the process of approving the “sidecar” package of changes that House Democrats want to see passed in exchange for their vote on the main Senate bill. Republicans plan to tinker with that bill so that after they’re done with it, the House has to take it up again.

If they succeed, it means the health care issue won’t go away Sunday — or even next week. And Democrats who are looking to get beyond the debate, particularly those in moderate or conservative districts, will be dogged by the issue as they enter the high season of campaigning.

  83. VotingFemale says:

    continued from above…

“There’s way too much uncertainty,” House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, R-Va., told Fox News.

Ideally for Democrats, the House will approve the original Senate bill, approve the “reconciliation” bill and then send that to the Senate, where it will be adopted intact and sent to President Obama’s desk. The “reconciliation” bill is the package of changes to the Senate-passed bill that was unveiled Thursday — under the reconciliation rules, Democrats will be able to pass that bill with just 51 votes in the Senate, instead of 60.

But there are several problems with that plan.

First, Stupak’s move to draft a new bill is a considerable complication. He’s the moderate Democrat who spearheaded a measure on the original House bill to create a virtual wall between taxpayer dollars and abortion coverage. The Senate bill is seen to be weaker on that front, and Stupak and his allies have pledged to oppose the bill unless they see changes.

If he can pass a bill of “corrections” to the abortion language out of the House, that would have to pass the Senate and then be signed into law by the president before the Senate can take up the package of changes.

Then there are problems with the reconciliation bill itself.

“People who are relying on the reconciliation bill in the House of Representatives … may well be being sold a bill of goods,” Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H., said on the floor Thursday.

If the bill is changed at all in the Senate, the House has to take another stab at it. And then if the House changes it, then the Senate has to take it up again. And so on.

    Republicans see this as likely.

“It would in any case have to go back to the House of Representatives,” said Sen. John Thune, R-S.D.

The prospect of a prolonged health care debate surely doesn’t sit well with many Democrats, even though Obama reportedly is telling them the vote is good for their political survival.

The Republicans’ specific strategy for prolonging the debate is to exploit a potential problem with the reconciliation bill.

The main trouble spot is that the package includes a change to the controversial tax on high-cost “Cadillac” insurance plans — under a compromise, because liberal Democrats and unions despise it, the tax would be put off until 2018, as opposed to 2013.

But Republicans argue that the adjustment would run afoul of a congressional rule that says reconciliation cannot be used to tweak Social Security. Because the tax on “Cadillac” insurance plans is projected to bring in revenue to Social Security, any change to that tax would presumably affect Social Security.

This is a clear violation of the rule, GOP sources told Fox News.

It takes 60 votes to waive any objections Republicans might bring up on the floor on those grounds, but Democrats have only 59. And there aren’t a lot of senators crossing aisles these days.

Even Democratic North Dakota Sen. Kent Conrad, in an interview with Fox News, conceded that changes are likely. But his strategy is to fix the bill on the House side before it gets to the Senate to minimize the chances of it getting sent back.

The GOP strategy appears to be two-fold, though: Either toy with the bill when it gets to the Senate and drag out the process, or prevent the bill from coming to the Senate at all.

If Republicans can make the case that key parts of the “sidecar” bill will never be passed, then they hope a number of fence-sitting House Democrats will not want to go on record in support of a Senate bill they see as seriously flawed.

“So if you’re a member of the House of Representatives, the best you can hope for is you’re going to get a bill back to the House that has a lot of these provisions that you care about knocked out,” Thune said, calling the idea that the Senate is going to fix all the problems in the original bill an “incredible leap of faith.”

Fox News’ Chad Pergram and Trish Turner contributed to this report.

  84. rosehips says:

the whole process of reconciliation is a farce, at least in the case of this health care bill.

I watched Greta’s interview with a Rep. rep last night. I don’t remember what his name is. But he explained what would most likely happen if the bill is “approved” and I think the process is severely flawed.

One of our main slogans is “People and Nature Before Profits.”

The Communist Party stands for the interests of the American working class and the American people. It stands for our interests in both the present and the future. Solidarity with workers of other countries is also part of our work. We work in coalition with the labor movement, the peace movement, the student movement, organizations fighting for equality and social justice, the environmental movement, immigrants rights groups and the health care for all campaign.

Marxist ideas have been elaborated and modernized by other great revolutionaries such as Vladimir Lenin, Ho Chi Minh and Fidel Castro. The validity of Marxism has been repeatedly demonstrated by its role in guiding successful social struggles and revolutions in every part of the world. Marxism is not a rigid dogma, but relies on the scientific method to analyze and change society, so it is constantly developing and adapting as society itself changes.

Founded in 1919, the Communist Party has helped win important changes in our country. Communists helped organize the great industrial unions including steel, meatpacking and auto. Communists were pioneers in the 1930s in the fight for Social Security, unemployment compensation, the 8-hour day and the 40-hour week. They took a lead in the fight against lynching and to save the Scottsboro Nine. Communists were among those who developed militant direct action tactics – such as the sit-down strikes that helped win unionization of the auto industry. At the height of the Great Depression communist neighborhood clubs organized mass unemployed councils that put back the furniture of evicted neighbors. In rural areas, communists organized to block bank auction of foreclosed farms.

Is the environment? are we too hygenic? The answers are not clear, but theories do exist. Why don’t we spend more research money on finding out what causes such high rates in the US?

LOS ANGELES – Cases of severe, therapy-resistant asthma are on the rise worldwide, and new strategies are needed to treat the estimated 100,000 people who die of asthma every year. Researchers from the National Institutes of Health and their colleagues are exploring a radical solution: bone marrow transplants.

  89. rosehips says:

    The “Hygiene Hypothesis”
One theory researchers have for what causes asthma is the “hygiene hypothesis.” They believe that our Western lifestyle—with its emphasis on hygiene and sanitation—has resulted in changes in our living conditions and an overall decline in infections in early childhood.

Many young children no longer experience the same types of environmental exposures and infections as children did in the past. This affects the way that the immune systems in today’s young children develop during very early childhood, and it may increase their risk for atopy and asthma. This is especially true for children who have close family members with one or both of these conditions.

US child obesity problem worse than thought

    Last Updated: 2010-03-19 9:29:36 -0400 (Reuters Health)

    By JoAnne Allen

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Extreme obesity among American children is much worse than previously believed, putting them at greater risk of serious health problems as they age, U.S. researchers said on Thursday.

A study of more than 700,000 children and teens in southern California found that more than 6 percent, or 45,000, were extremely obese and more boys than girls were far too heavy, the researchers reported in the Journal of Pediatrics.

“This study is unique because it is the first time that we’ve had a large up-to-date snapshot of what’s happening with obesity in our children,” co-author Dr. Amy Porter of Kaiser Permanente health care system said in a video statement.

“The prevalence of obesity in children is much higher than we ever thought it was” Porter said. She said the study also showed that extreme obesity was rising in almost every group.

It found that 7 percent of boys and 5 percent of girls were extremely obese, as were more than 2 percent of all children under 5 years old.

Have you read “Wet Dreams of my Father” yet, Rose?

During Obama’s campaign for the 2008 presidential election, he portrayed his mother as a conservative girl from Kansas; however in reality she was a radical leftist and cultural Marxist. She lived in the Seattle area; spending her teenage years in Seattle coffee shops with other young radical leftist. Obama claims his mother’s family were conservative Methodists or Baptists from Kansas. However his mother’s parents were members of a left-wing Unitarian church near Seattle. The church located in Bellevue, Washington was nicknamed ‘the little red church,’ because of its communist leanings.

The school Ann attended, Mercer Island High School, was a hotbed of pro-Marxist radical teachers. John Stenhouse, board member, told the House Un-American Activities Subcommittee that he had been a member of the Communist Party USA and this school has a number of Marxists on its staff. Two teachers at this school, Val Foubert and Jim Wichterman, both Frankfurt School style Marxists, taught a critical theory curriculum to students which included; rejection of societal norms, attacks on Christianity, the traditional family, and assigned readings by Karl Marx. The hallway between Foubert’s and Wichterman classrooms was some times called ‘anarchy ally.’

Dunham has been described by her friends as ‘a fellow traveler’ meaning ‘a communist sympathizer.’

Stanley Ann Dunham Soetoro (November 29, 1942 – November 7, 1995), also known as Ann Dunham and Stanley Ann Dunham, was an American cultural anthropologist, left-wing social activist, and the mother of Barack Obama and Maya Soetoro. She was born on an Army base at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, to Stanley and Madelyn Dunham. Her father (who gave his only child his name) was a furniture salesman and her mother a bank vice president. The family lived in Kansas, California, Texas and in 1955 moved to Seattle, Washington.[1] A year later they moved to nearby Mercer Island so that 13-year old Ann could attend Mercer Island High School that had just opened. At the school she was on the debate team and graduated in 1960.[1]
