Stupak: They are ignoring me now; Obama turns to SEIU for threatening House no voters. With what? death?

The polite phrase is ‘ARM TWISTING’

…but there is nothing polite about Obama’s baseball bat tactics of using Chicago Union Thuggery to beat Congressional Reps into submission.

If bribes and lies are ignored then the baseball bats come out. You can be sure SEIU has been deployed to force Congressional Reps into seeing it ‘their way’ or else.

Those of the ‘Stupak Twelve’ who bend to Obama’s Union Thug tactics are an embarrassment to America. We will collect their names and faces and create a Congressional Hall of Pro-Life Shame for use in defeating the Democrat Party and their army of SEIU Union Thugs in the Mid-Term Elections and in 2012 and beyond.

Obama & Co have revealed their Mobster Selves… now we freeze it, focus it, and use it to defeat these domestic political enemies of the Republic at the election booths across the country.

In a way… this ObamaCare Battle of Obama & Co may or may not be won by the Socialists but their battle against the Majority of American Voters will be used against these Socialist Thugs to win the WAR against them. Bank on it…

These Socailists think the Majority of Voters are energized now? Just see what happens if ObamaCare passes.

The battle cry into the 2010 elections and 2012 will be Repeal ObamaCare; Down With Socialism.

The Socialists are creating the rope with which they will hang themselves in the coming elections.

‘They Just Want This Over’ [Robert Costa]

Sitting in an airport, on his way home to Michigan, Rep. Bart Stupak, a pro-life Democrat, is chagrined. “They’re ignoring me,” he says, in a phone interview with National Review Online. “That’s their strategy now. The House Democratic leaders think they have the votes to pass the Senate’s health-care bill without us. At this point, there is no doubt that they’ve been able to peel off one or two of my twelve. And even if they don’t have the votes, it’s been made clear to us that they won’t insert our language on the abortion issue.

According to Stupak, that group of twelve pro-life House Democrats — the “Stupak dozen” — has privately agreed for months to vote ‘no’ on the Senate’s health-care bill if federal funding for abortion is included in the final legislative language. Now, in the debate’s final hours, Stupak says the other eleven are coming under “enormous” political pressure from both the White House and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.). “I am a definite ‘no’ vote,” he [Stupak] says. “I didn’t cave. The others are having both of their arms twisted, and we’re all getting pounded by our traditional Democratic supporters, like unions.”

Stupak says he also doesn’t trust the “Slaughter solution,” a legislative maneuver being bandied about on Capitol Hill as a way to pass the Senate bill in the House without actually voting on it. “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me,” he says. “I don’t have a warm-and-fuzzy feeling about what I’m hearing.”

Stupak notes that his negotiations with House Democratic leaders in recent days have been revealing. “I really believe that the Democratic leadership is simply unwilling to change its stance,” he says. “Their position says that women, especially those without means available, should have their abortions covered.” The arguments they have made to him in recent deliberations, he adds, “are a pretty sad commentary on the state of the Democratic party.”

What are Democratic leaders saying? “If you pass the Stupak amendment, more children will be born, and therefore it will cost us millions more. That’s one of the arguments I’ve been hearing,” Stupak says. “Money is their hang-up. Is this how we now value life in America? If money is the issue — come on, we can find room in the budget. This is life we’re talking about.”

If Obamacare passes, Stupak says, it could signal the end of any meaningful role for pro-life Democrats within their own party. “It would be very, very hard for someone who is a right-to-life Democrat to run for office,” he says. “I won’t leave the party. I’m more comfortable here and still believe in a role within it for the right-to-life cause, but this bill will make being a pro-life Democrat much more difficult. They don’t even want to debate this issue. We’ll probably have to wait until the Republicans take back the majority to fix this.

“Throughout this debate, even when the House leaders have acknowledged us, it’s always been in a backhanded way,” he laments. “I’m telling the others to hold firm, and we’ll meet next week, but I’m disappointed in my colleagues who said they’d be with us and now they’re not. It’s almost like some right-to-life members don’t want to be bothered. They just want this over.”

And the politics of the issue are pretty rough. “This has really reached an unhealthy stage,” Stupak says. “People are threatening ethics complaints on me. On the left, they’re really stepping it up. Every day, from Rachel Maddow to the Daily Kos, it keeps coming. Does it bother me? Sure. Does it change my position? No.”

I respect Stupak and company for standing firm. I think that since so many Americans are opposed to taxpayer-funded abortion that there’s a valid argument against it. But what to do about unwanted pregnancy? My answer is to do whatever we can to prevent them. How? Education, birth control and perhaps disincentives.

How bout a tax on babies? You can’t leave the hospital until you pay. If you can’t, we’ll give the babies to the IRS and sell them on the open market. Lots of peeps would love to adopt a newborn, as long as it is healthy and white.

  6. Foxwood says:

“But what to do about unwanted pregnancy?”

Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.

looks like not everyone is stupid in Illinois

State taking steps to phase out dry cleaning chemical
Legislative proposal would limit perchloroethylene in 2013 and ban it by 2026

Illinois is moving to phase out the use of perchloroethylene, or perc, a common dry-cleaning chemical linked to cancer, liver damage and neurological problems.

Under legislation pushed by Gov. Pat Quinn’s administration, dry cleaners would be banned from installing new perc machines after this year and from using the chemical in residential buildings by 2013. All perc use would be outlawed in 2026, giving businesses time to switch to other cleaning methods.

Concerns about perc have been growing for years. The widespread contamination of groundwater from dry-cleaner spills came into sharper focus last year after the Tribune reported that residents of south suburban Crestwood unwittingly drank water contaminated with perc and related chemicals for more than two decades.

hmmm… are you talking about having sex, foxy? So you suggest we make it a crime to have sex if you can’t afford a baby? brilliant.

  9. Foxwood says:

The lefty answer to everything is taxes. Tax the rich give to the poor. Redistribute the wealth. Sounds like the 10 planks and the Soviet Constitution I posted yesterday.

Here’s one way to solve our problems. If we can only increase industrial pollution everywhere maybe no more boy babies will be born.

Dramatic decline of male births in indigenous communities tied to industrial pollution
    By Terri Hansen, Today correspondent

    Story Published: Mar 13, 2010

    Story Updated: Mar 9, 2010

A strange reality exists in at least one indigenous community – babies that should be born boys are instead, born girls.

Research in 2007 showing skewed birth ratios in the villages of northern Greenland exposed earlier studies that found indigenous mothers living in the northern most reaches of the Arctic Circle were giving birth to daughters.

The studies linked the skewed sex ratios with human exposures to PCBs and other persistent organic chemicals.

  11. Foxwood says:

“So you suggest we make it a crime to have sex if you can’t afford a baby? brilliant.”

No, I suggest morals. You teach them in school. Maybe the way the textbooks are going to be written now, they’ll teach morals also.

  12. Foxwood says:

Yeah, I agree we need to control pollution.

    But CO2 ain’t air pollution.

Louisiana’s birds threatened by climate change, report says

Courtesy of Bill Stripling, National Audubon Society The royal tern is one of the birds threatened, according to new report.
Climate change poses a threat to most U.S. bird species, including many that live and visit Louisiana’s rapidly disappearing coastline, according to a new report released Thursday by ornithologists with university research laboratories, federal agencies and environmental groups.

  14. rosehips says:

you teach morals in school? good luck with that.

  15. Foxwood says:

Each state needs to regulate their pollution levels, as it’s not in the Constitution, therefor left to the states to do.

  16. rosehips says:

and how do you propose we do this?

foxy said: Yeah, I agree we need to control pollution.

  17. Foxwood says:

Climate Crap as been proven a hoax. No such thing.

  18. Foxwood says:

“I refuse to discuss climate change here anymore. You all know what I think and it does no good whatsoever to repeat myself.”

  19. Foxwood says:

    Again:
Each state needs to regulate their pollution levels, as it’s not in the Constitution, therefor left to the states to do.

  20. rosehips says:

and what is your state doing to control pollution? How do you propose they do this? What if they made you park your SUV?

  21. Foxwood says:

How do you propose the Government do it when the don’t do shit well, not to mention it’s not their duty?

I suppose you suggest we become socialist and let the government diaper us, huh?

  22. Foxwood says:

“What if they made you park your SUV?”

    From my cold dead hands.

  23. rosehips says:

could overtesting and treatment contribute to rising health care costs?

    March 13, 2010 in Nation/World
    Testing may be bad medicine
President’s recent physical exam illustrates the problem, some say

CHICAGO – Too much cancer screening, too many heart tests, too many cesarean sections. A spate of recent reports suggests that many Americans are being overtreated. Maybe even President Barack Obama, champion of an overhaul and cost-cutting of the health care system.

Is it doctors practicing defensive medicine? Or are patients so accustomed to a culture of medical technology that they insist on extensive tests and treatments?

A combination of both is at work, but new evidence and updated guidelines are recommending a step back and more thorough doctor-patient talks about risks and benefits of screening tests.

I am horrified at the white houses tactics to push this bill through…It started ugly and now it has become down right EVIL!
Rachael Maddow, just a bitch of a commentator is slandering pro life democrats, thus taking part in the BULLY method for votes! This has BECOME SHAMEFUL and I am disgusted in the behavior of the liberals pursuing strong arm tactics for votes!

Really, how can this be expectable! Granted we have freedom of speech, but when members of the press use their ability to spread lies and rumors about senators to gain votes for their own liking, it is a form of corruption, CHEATERS! Just blatant immoral, unethical behaviour…let the will be OF THE PEOPLE! The will of THE SENATORS, AND NOT the medias threat to bring a politician down by publicly slanderous insults and accusations!!!
This really should be frowned upon by ALL MEDIA!!!
    VERY DISTURBING!!!

  25. VotingFemale says:

Thanks for sharing your views, zenstorm.

  26. Foxwood says:

Just so you know the law of the land which is our Costitution

    The Tenth Amendment:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people

  27. Foxwood says:

“Is it doctors practicing defensive medicine? Or are patients so accustomed to a culture of medical technology that they insist on extensive tests and treatments?”

The test because of layers that sue doctors. So what is needed to bring down costs is tort reform.
