Indonesians join the Hate Obama bandwagon

Have fun during your March 2010 visit to Jakarta, Barack! They love hate you there.

Gee… didn’t Indonesian politicians build a monument to Obama?

opps… seems Indonesian citizens had different views about Obama… After many protests objecting to that statue it was uprooted from the Jakarta park where it was erected and moved to a school yard.

Sooo…. undaunted, Obama scheduled a trip to Jakarta from March 20 through 22.

According to the Associated Press, the approaching Obama visit is being protested.

JAKARTA, Indonesia – Scores of Islamic students staged protests outside Jakarta’s parliament and in at least three other major Indonesian cities on Friday against President Barack Obama’s upcoming visit to this predominantly Muslim country.

The students carried banners branding Obama as an enemy of Islam and an imperialist in downtown Jakarta as well as in the provincial capitals Padang, Yogyakarta and Surabaya.

Protest organizer Ahmad Irhamul Fikri, spokesman for the Coordinating Board for Campus Proselytizing Institute, said bigger rallies will be staged next Friday in more Indonesian cities ahead of Obama’s March 20-22 visit.

    BREAKING
    *****************************************************

Democrat Rep. Eric Massa NY resigned today. He had previously announced his retirement. It is alleged that he made a pass at a young male staffer.

My tally of Members of Congress retiring has been updated to reflect that this is a resignation:

This is some scary sh!t on Glenn. Is anyone DVRing it? I’m gonna try to put it to DVD from my Tivo.

  18. samhenry says:

    According to the AP

WASHINGTON — New York Democratic Rep. Eric Massa, the subject of a harassment complaint by a male staffer, is stepping down from his seat, The Associated Press has learned.

Knowledgable Democratic officials told AP that Massa, who has announced he will not seek reelection due to a recurrance of cancer, is resigning his seat, effective Monday.

Massa’s resignation comes as the House ethics panel was reviewing a harassment complaint by a male staffer who reportedly felt uncomfortable in a situation with Massa that had sexual overtones.

Massa, who had initially dismissed the rumors, will resign effective Monday evening, according to three Democratic officials with knowledge of his plans. They spoke on condition of anonymity because no formal announcement had yet been made.

I just love living in New York the Quagmire State. It is filled with really great sleaze operatives – democrats – that have run the place into the ground:

    WOW

Rose, You need to watch this. I don’t think you know anything about pollution now.

  21. samhenry says:

Is the end of the world coming as Sami says.

Earthquakes abound; immorality is being uncovered. Nancy Pelosi is shaking today. Hey it’s not her “fault” LOL.

  22. Foxwood says:

I will be buying “Conquering Gotham”. Pollution over 100 years ago worse than anyone alive today has ever seen it?

How is it possible we even exist on earth today?

    Unless we’ve been lied to.

  23. samhenry says:

Well it is true that during Victorian times when the industrial revolution started – Charles Dickens made a career out of setting novels amid the dirty air and cinders of the factories.

Then, too, they still had out houses. Think about it….

  24. samhenry says:

Now that I listen to Beck, no one is on the blog from 5-6 EST.

    Rose, take it away…

  25. samhenry says:

Swell, the SDS is now in high schools.

OK – no religion in the schools; no political action organizations either.

  26. samhenry says:

I grew up with the SDS on my college campus. Their power over kids cannot be underestimated. I remember when they shut down the U of R to demonstrate. I still went to class but my professor met me at the door and asked me why I wasn’t out demonstrating with my class (he wanted me to do it). I told him that I was paying my own tuition and that I could not afford to miss a class.

  27. samhenry says:

After Beck, I will probably have to got do some house cleaning. I will try to check back in.

  28. samhenry says:

    From Mitch Steward at OFA

This week, a confidential fundraising memo from the Republican National Committee leaked to the press, detailing a new, desperate effort to manipulate voters and crush health reform.

The plan calls for “an aggressive campaign capitalizing on ‘fear’ of President Barack Obama and a promise to ‘save the country from trending toward socialism.'” What’s worse, the presentation included offensive caricatures of Democratic leaders, including President Obama as the Joker from Batman.

So while President Obama was organizing a bipartisan meeting to discuss real solutions, and incorporating the best ideas into his proposal, right-wing political operatives and their special interest allies were preparing a campaign of fear and falsehoods to personally attack the President and deny Americans the care we need.

Enough. We cannot let the lowest form of politics derail the progress we’ve made for the American people. To counter their attacks, we’ll need to take our message to the air and to doorsteps across the country — and with a final vote on health reform expected in a matter of weeks, there’s no time to lose.

Please donate $5 or more today to help us defeat the attacks and pass reform

  29. Foxwood says:

These groups at the colleges were holding signs saying they wanted the government to indoctrinate them from K to PHD.

And the unions want daycares to become unionized.

If they can get your kids early, they can turn them against you.

  30. samhenry says:

FOX, the SDS is now in secondary schools.

  31. samhenry says:

    From Fire Dog Lake

UPDATE: Politico is reporting (no link) that Massa has been accused of sexually harassing a male staffer, and that this is the reason for him stepping down. There’s no corroboration whatsoever for these allegations.

UPDATE II: ABC quotes a source saying that Massa will immediately resign. We’ll know soon enough.

UPDATE III: On his conference call, Massa confirms that he has had a recurrence of cancer. He will retire but not resign. And he said on the call that “I will now enter the final phase of my life.”

Hey, thanks for “winning the day” and smearing a terminally ill man with anonymous sources, Politico! Get that Pulitzer application ready!

UPDATE IV: Just wondering if John Bresnahan, Jonathan Allen and Josh Kraushaar will burn their sources now that the main reason for the retirement, as described by Massa, is terminal cancer.

  32. samhenry says:

Obama just goes from issue to issue to keep us breathless:

Reporting from Washington – Despite steep odds, the White House has discussed prospects for reviving a major overhaul of the nation’s immigration laws, a commitment that President Obama has postponed once already.

Obama took up the issue privately with his staff Monday in a bid to advance a bill through Congress before lawmakers become too distracted by approaching midterm elections.

  33. Foxwood says:

How many NY politicians have quit or said they will quit this week? I’ve lost track…

    Hmmm…. Paterson may stay on.

  34. Foxwood says:

I hope Paterson stays in office. It will add wee wee to the koolaid for Obutthole.

  35. samhenry says:

I could give a flying fig about Sptizer’s private life. If he did not do anything illegal, then bring him back. He was a great governor.

There are so many ditsy dems in this state it is difficult to say. Louise Slaughter is from this neck of the woods and she has always been radical and raging. She is one tough broad.

  36. Foxwood says:

I wished someone would find stuff on the Landrieus.

  37. samhenry says:

For your enlightenment and entertainment, where dance is headed:

  38. m2 says:

SamHenry, I’m enraged at that OFA email. If a “leaked” letter came out using “fear” and Oba caricatures you bet they’d name the offender and ALSO the media would DROOL at the prospect of slathering that story across the air waves.

It is not only a fake! It is what Dems always paint the opposition to Obama as -they juveniley think opposition is extemist, irrational, or racist! And don’t even HEAR out the message of people opposing the policies because it gets them farther they feel to slander GOOD fellow citizens to stir up the rancid hateful Left base!

    LIES!

From the mouth of Alinsky that OFA email is. I wager.

Alinsky must have been a tool of the devil to trick and torture mankind for decades!!

  39. samhenry says:

Sadly, M2 the media did drag it across the airwaves. They had the entire powerpoint presentation on CNN.

I forget the “source” of the info. I’ll do a search for you.

  40. m2 says:

Does anyone realize the jobs bill is the second stimulus the Dems wanted but didn’t want to “call” stimulus?

Does anyone realize the “second stimulus” was on the point list for CPUSA.org?

Obama’s administration’s main function is to:
manage the decline of The United States of America.

  41. m2 says:

That is sad SamHenry…. And that kind of email is not the way to stop Obama’s fundamental transformation of this country. It needs ‘substance’ not ‘flash’.

There is enough substance against everything Obama does it’s veritable ‘common sense’…

  42. samhenry says:

I think we need to have an accounting. All the bills and acts he has signed and how much each has cost us. For example the Omnibus bill that allowed for the massive land grab.

  43. m2 says:

All the repub. email had to say was, “Pelosi doesn’t have the votes but we have to make sure she doesn’t get them. Reconciliation was a fake out. All the House has to do is pass the Senate bill and it’s law.”

“Let’s get on the House reps and make sure they vote against this nation-killer.”

  44. m2 says:

I have no doubt that Obama is of SDS cloth, SamHenry.

David Horowitz says that they just don’t want their true intentions, agendas outwardly know (true Leftists communists and marxists don’t).

Bernadine Dorn was a big player in SDS. Anyone who thinks Obama is different from the terrorist Ayers and his wife are fooling themselves.

  45. m2 says:

    “group type” – Revolutionary Comminist

Weatherman, known colloquially as the Weathermen and later the Weather Underground Organization (abbreviated WUO), was an American radical left organization. It originated in 1969 as a faction of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS)[2] composed for the most part of the national office leadership of SDS and their supporters. Their goal was to create a clandestine revolutionary party for the violent overthrow of the US government and the establishment of a dictatorship of the proletariat.

  46. m2 says:

    Communist- sorry, typo.

Alls that’s missing is the ‘violent’… That part was just reconfigured since the 70’s.

Dictatorship is what it feels like now already.

Why on Earth do people like this want a dictatorship?

  47. samhenry says:

They are not stopping at the US – somewhere earlier today I had a quote about how they want world wide communism.

  48. Foxwood says:

Yes, M2, we elected a leader who’s handlers have made it his job to manage the decline of the United States.

    Not manage the United States.
Not manage the repair of the economy.
But to manage the decline of the United States.

This is the first time in history the United States has been in decline, and it’s no coincidence that Obutthole is the President.

That is why Obutthole bows to others, and that is why he has no concern of China owning us. His handlers have given him his orders.

  49. Foxwood says:

The United States is one of the biggest things in the way of world wide Communism. Obutthole is to remove the United States as the blockage.

  50. samhenry says:

FOX is reporting on the jobs situation. I agree with them that discouraged workers bring under employment rate to 16%

We just are not adding jobs at a fast enough rate to ensure that people will have jobs anytime soon. This will just delay the day we emerge from this financial nightmare.

  51. Foxwood says:

Obutthole is not adding jobs. The only jobs Obutthole is adding are government jobs, and most of those this month are temporary census jobs.

  52. Foxwood says:

Sorry for being so depressing. I’ve heard alot of depressing sh!t all day.

  53. Foxwood says:

    Foxwood cooking tips:

Don’t scratch your eyes after cutting peppers.

Be careful when going to the potty also…

  54. Foxwood says:

Time to wash my eyes out now!

  55. m2 says:

Yes that is Andy Stern’s dream SamHenry. Horowitz calls Stern a Leninist.

That is why he is on the Debt Commission. In order to make his multitudes of visits to the white house have a function.

I believe you can find the recent clip of Andy Stern’s vision of a “worldwide WORKERS revolution & unite” on YouTube. I believe he was talking to Charlie Rose….

    samhenry says:
They are not stopping at the US – somewhere earlier today I had a quote about how they want world wide communism.

  56. samhenry says:

Poor peppered FOX. So sorry. I gave up on peppers years ago -can’t do it. Love to eat’em; won’t cook’em.

I did a post on the Census today, FOX

  57. m2 says:

You mean those tears weren’t for the impending “manages decline” of the greatest freeist nation he Earth had ever seen?

  58. samhenry says:

It’s so overwhelming. I am having a helluva time finding work at 68. I am just blogging away, letting the world fall all around me! LOL

I have to go to the grocery store and the pharmacy. Didn’t get there last night.

I just had to wake Sam Henry up. He was having a doggie dream and he was growling. I wonder if he was growling at Bo Obama? He’s very political. His Barack IS as bad as his bite. LOL

  59. samhenry says:

Ah, the power of peppers, M2. BBL GOOD to talk.

  60. Foxwood says:

I’ll have a revolution before I give up on the United States like some other person on this blog I know, not mentioning flower names.

  61. Foxwood says:

I’ve noticed this week, M2, SamH, Rush and Glenn have been on the same wavelength.

    It all came together today.

  62. m2 says:

SamHenry is not the only one having bad dreams. I dreamed I was out with Robert Gibbs in my dream last night!

These people are affecting our free lives! I guess one should never forget the COST of liberty.

I just don’t get why Communists want what they want? Slavery? Really?

I just out in a batch of red velvet cupcakes! I’ll send one to SamHenry so he has better dreams. Haha.

    I can’t wait to eat them. Mmmmmmmm…

  63. m2 says:

Well fox, I bet rosehips is with you. She’s definitely not the stripe of leftist we are plagued with in this government. She has empathy, but not radical violence “let’s institute a dictatorship!” like Obama and his FRIENDS. There is such a thing as an innocent liberal. I’m sure most of my friends that say they are liberal and voted for thus hag President would be horrified to know what is really going on. They wanted a better life, they said, not destitution for the “world stage”….

  65. m2 says:

I only caught parts of Beck on the radio today (thankfully the part with David Horowitz, ex-60’s Communist radical), and I stopped listening to Rush when he started up about the lights on the beach, aka, ‘When Rush diverts from politics to be a regular dude complaining about his neighborhood’ -Rush always loses me when he chats about golf, football, or 24.

But up until that point he was right on. And I’m waiting the next 8 months for the media to pick up on his revelations. As they always do, 6 to 8 months after Rush points it out.

I missed the Beck at 5 show..
But I know what’s is happening…. All too well.

  66. Foxwood says:

“SamHenry is not the only one having bad dreams. I dreamed I was out with Robert Gibbs in my dream last night!”

Hmmmm… I was dreaming of Alysne Camarata last night. I hope her husband doesn’t find out!

  67. Foxwood says:

Did you ever watch Battlestar Galatica or do you watch Caprica?

  68. Foxwood says:

“Well fox, I bet rosehips is with you. ”

The reason I went off on a tirade a week ago was because she started the day off with, “The United States will never be the same. We are in a decline.”

I was not a happy camper with her.

  69. Foxwood says:

That is why I brought up Rose just a while ago. It was her talking.

  70. Foxwood says:

The only reason we are in a decline is because we have the Regressive Obutthole and his henchmen and women in Congress.

    Good Evening Everyone!

Banks shuttered in Fla., Ill., Md.
Regulators shut down banks in Florida, Illinois, Maryland; makes 25 US bank failures this year

WASHINGTON (AP) — Regulators on Friday shuttered banks in Florida, Illinois and Maryland, boosting to 25 the number of bank failures in the U.S. so far this year following the 140 brought down in 2009 by mounting loan defaults and the recession.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. took over Sun American Bank, based in Boca Raton, Fla., with $535.7 million in assets and $443.5 million in deposits. Also seized were Bank of Illinois of Normal, Ill., with $211.7 million in assets and $198.5 million in deposits; and Waterfield Bank in Germantown, Md., with $155.6 million in assets and $156.4 million in deposits.

First-Citizens Bank & Trust Co., based in Raleigh, N.C., agreed to assume the assets and deposits of Sun American Bank and to share losses with the FDIC on $433 million of the failed bank’s loans and other assets. It was First-Citizens’ fourth acquisition of assets of a failed bank since last July; the others were First Regional Bank of Los Angeles, Venture Bank of Lacey, Wash., and Temecula Valley Bank of Temecula, Calif.

Heartland Bank and Trust Co., based in Bloomington, Ill., is buying the assets and deposits of Bank of Illinois, and is sharing losses with the FDIC on $166.6 million in loans and other assets.

For Waterfield Bank, because no buyer was found, the FDIC set up a new savings institution that will operate until April 5 to allow customers access to their deposits and give them time to open accounts at other banks.

The failure of Sun American Bank is expected to cost the federal deposit insurance fund $103.8 million. The cost of resolving Bank of Illinois is estimated at $53.7 million; that of Waterfield Bank is $51 million.

The pace of bank seizures this year is likely to accelerate in coming months, FDIC officials have said.

As the economy has weakened, with unemployment rising, home prices tumbling and loan defaults soaring, bank failures have mounted, sapping billions of dollars out of the deposit insurance fund. It fell into the red last year, hitting a $20.9 billion deficit as of Dec. 31.

Banks, meanwhile, have tightened their lending standards. U.S. bank lending last year posted its steepest drop since World War II, as the volume of loans fell $587.3 billion, or 7.5 percent, from 2008, the FDIC reported recently.

President Barack Obama recently promoted a $30 billion plan to provide money to community banks if they boost lending to small businesses. The program, which must be approved by Congress, would use money repaid by banks to the $700 billion federal bailout fund.

But many lawmakers want the $30 billion sent directly to the federal Small Business Administration. It would then decide which businesses should get loans.

The number of banks on the FDIC’s confidential “problem” list jumped to 702 in the fourth quarter from 552 three months earlier, even as the industry squeezed out a small profit. Banks earned $914 million, compared with a $37.8 billion loss in the fourth quarter of 2008, at the height of the financial crisis. Still, nearly one in every three banks reported a net loss for the latest quarter.

The 140 bank failures last year were the highest annual tally since 1992, at the height of the savings and loan crisis. They cost the insurance fund more than $30 billion. There were 25 bank failures in 2008 and just three in 2007.

The FDIC expects the cost of resolving failed banks to grow to about $100 billion over the next four years.

The agency mandated last year that banks prepay about $45 billion in premiums, for 2010 through 2012, to replenish the insurance fund.

Depositors’ money — insured up to $250,000 per account — is not at risk, with the FDIC backed by the government. Apart from the fund, the FDIC has about $66 billion in cash and securities available in reserve to cover losses at failed banks.

Congressional estimates show grim deficit picture.

WASHINGTON – A new congressional report released Friday says the United States’ long-term fiscal woes are even worse than predicted by President Barack Obama’s grim budget submission last month.

The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office predicts that Obama’s budget plans would generate deficits over the upcoming decade that would total $9.8 trillion. That’s $1.2 trillion more than predicted by the administration.

The agency says its future-year predictions of tax revenues are more pessimistic than the administration’s. That’s because CBO projects slightly slower economic growth than the White House.

The deficit picture has turned alarmingly worse since the recession that started at the end of 2007, never dipping below 4 percent of the size of the economy over the next decade. Economists say that deficits of that size are unsustainable and could put upward pressure on interest rates, crowd out private investment in the economy and ultimately erode the nation’s standard of living.

Still, the Feb. 1 White House budget plan was a largely stand-pat document that avoided difficult decisions on curbing the unsustainable growth of federal benefit programs like the Medicare health care program for the elderly and Medicaid, which provides health care to the poor and disabled.

Instead, Obama has created an 18-member fiscal reform commission that’s charged with coming up with a plan to shrink the deficit to 3 percent of the economy within five years. But the Republicans to be named to the panel by congressional GOP leaders are unlikely to go along with any tax increases that might be proposed, which could ensure election-year gridlock.

“While the president is intent on ramming through Congress a new trillion-dollar health-care entitlement, he appears far less concerned with addressing the looming crisis of entitlement spending already on the books,” said Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, the top Republican on the Budget Committee. “Instead, he delegates this task to a ‘Fiscal Commission’ — which would not even report until after the next election.”

The report says that extending tax cuts enacted in 2001 and 2003 under GOP President George W. Bush and continuing to update the alternative minimum tax so that it won’t hit millions of middle-class taxpayers would cost $3 trillion over 2011-2020. The tax cuts expire at the end of this year and Obama wants to extend them — except for individuals making more than $200,000 a year and couples making $250,000.

For the ongoing budget year, CBO predicts a record $1.5 trillion deficit. That’s actually a little better than predicted by the White House, but at 10 percent of gross domestic product, it’s bigger than any deficit in history other than those experienced during World War II.

The new report predicts that debt held by investors, including China, would spike from $7.5 trillion at the end of last year to $20.3 trillion in 2020. That means interest payments would more than quadruple — from $209 billion this year, to $916 billion by the end of the decade.

Indonesian students protest Barack Obama’s visit

JAKARTA, Indonesia – Scores of Islamic students staged protests outside Jakarta’s parliament and in at least three other major Indonesian cities on Friday against President Barack Obama’s upcoming visit to this predominantly Muslim country.

The students carried banners branding Obama as an enemy of Islam and an imperialist in downtown Jakarta as well as in the provincial capitals Padang, Yogyakarta and Surabaya.

They also threw shoes at large pictures of Obama’s head. An Iraqi journalist was sentenced to a year in prison for throwing his shoes at U.S. President George W. Bush during a news conference in Baghdad in 2008.

Protest organizer Ahmad Irhamul Fikri, spokesman for the Coordinating Board for Campus Proselytizing Institute, said bigger rallies will be staged next Friday in more Indonesian cities ahead of Obama’s March 20-22 visit.

Such demonstrations of hostility toward Obama are rare in Indonesia, where he enjoys widespread popularity because he spend part of his childhood in Jakarta while his mother was married to his Indonesian stepfather.

Local government officials allowed business people to erect a statue of a 10-year-old Obama in a Jakarta park in December. But it was shifted last month to a nearby elementary school that he attended after more than 50,000 people supported a Facebook campaign against it and court action was threatened.

Obama is expected to sign the statue’s pedestal while in Jakarta.

FOX was reporting last night that the WH said if ObamaCare does not pass in a House vote by March 18 it is the last time Obama will push for ObamaCare and will drop it.

I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT FOR ONE SECOND!
It is, imo, an infantile threat to the party radical Leftists in order to light a fire under their asses to go out and hardball play pile on on the House Blue Dogs to force them to go with the Marxist Flow, or else.

I do not believe Obama will even think of giving up unless the statute of limitations runs out on exercising the Nuclear Option in the Senate… as I understand it that expires in May.

  110. m2 says:

The thing about the ‘centrists’ that stick up militantly for Obama’s agenda (like you were talking about on Facebook), it’s like- why can’t they just say “I’m a Socialist.” I mean the least that Obama is, is a socialist (I mean, at best)… So if Socialism is so ideal, why are the Obama lovers always denying it? Why do the Dems in congress cringe? Wouldn’t one stand up for something if they believe it is good???

Or does Socialism have an understanding of suffering and loss of freedom that is universal- so they know inherently they have to hide their love of it- like standard Leftist beliefs (hide)… The stuff that Baldy McCommunist was saying against the “Code” on that hidden video.

So I guess Socialism is just as bad as Marxism and Communism if they feel they can’t call themselves “Socialist”?

  111. Foxwood says:

    Good morning VF!

M2, Socialism is bad. They can’t say the word because it would turn away the masses. It has to be disguised so the gullible can swallow it.

Socialism’s multi-front attack on American Prosperity never sleeps.

What behind-the-scenes deals are going on between Obama & Co and the RINO Senator Bob Corker (R-TN)???

This Judas Priest Asshat is conspiring with Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT), of all the corrupt Socialists in the Senate, to pass a $4 trillion dollar slush fund and oppressive Socialist regulations designed to allow the government the means to own the entire wealth of the country, the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act H.R. 4173, a Barney Frank gift to America.

The government does not have $4 trillion dollars to pay for this, as if that matters to anyone in congress except Congressman Bunning.

In case you do not have time to read Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act H.R. 4173 today, here is an overview of the bill which passed in the House and is now in the Senate.

Bankers Get $4 Trillion Gift From Barney Frank

    by David Reilly, Bloomberg

    Nuggets Gleaned

Here are some of the nuggets I gleaned from days spent reading Frank’s handiwork:

    – For all its heft, the bill doesn’t once mention the words “too-big-to-fail,” the main issue confronting the financial system. Admitting you have a problem, as any 12- stepper knows, is the crucial first step toward recovery.

    – Instead, it supports the biggest banks. It authorizes Federal Reserve banks to provide as much as $4 trillion in emergency funding the next time Wall Street crashes. So much for “no-more-bailouts” talk. That is more than twice what the Fed pumped into markets this time around. The size of the fund makes the bribes in the Senate’s health-care bill look minuscule.

    – Oh, hold on, the Federal Reserve and Treasury Secretary can’t authorize these funds unless “there is at least a 99 percent likelihood that all funds and interest will be paid back.” Too bad the same models used to foresee the housing meltdown probably will be used to predict this likelihood as well.

    More Bailouts

    – The bill also allows the government, in a crisis, to back financial firms’ debts. Bondholders can sleep easy — there are more bailouts to come.

    – The legislation does create a council of regulators to spot risks to the financial system and big financial firms. Unfortunately this group is made up of folks who missed the problems that led to the current crisis.

    – Don’t worry, this time regulators will have better tools. Six months after being created, the council will report to Congress on “whether setting up an electronic database” would be a help. Maybe they’ll even get to use that Internet thingy.

    – This group, among its many powers, can restrict the ability of a financial firm to trade for its own account. Perhaps this section should be entitled, “Yes, Goldman Sachs Group Inc., we’re looking at you.”

    Managing Bonuses

    – The bill also allows regulators to “prohibit any incentive-based payment arrangement.” In other words, banker bonuses are still in play. Maybe Bank of America Corp. and Citigroup Inc. shouldn’t have rushed to pay back Troubled Asset Relief Program funds.

    – The bill kills the Office of Thrift Supervision, a toothless watchdog. Well, kill may be too strong a word. That agency and its employees will be folded into the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Further proof that government never really disappears.

    – Since Congress isn’t cutting jobs, why not add a few more. The bill calls for more than a dozen agencies to create a position called “Director of Minority and Women Inclusion.” People in these new posts will be presidential appointees. I thought too-big-to-fail banks were the pressing issue. Turns out it’s diversity, and patronage.

    – Not that the House is entirely sure of what the issues are, at least judging by the two dozen or so studies the bill authorizes. About a quarter of them relate to credit-rating companies, an area in which the legislation falls short of meaningful change. Sadly, these studies don’t tackle tough questions like whether we should just do away with ratings altogether. Here’s a tip: Do the studies, then write the legislation.

    Consumer Protection

    – The bill isn’t all bad, though. It creates a new Consumer Financial Protection Agency, the brainchild of Elizabeth Warren, currently head of a panel overseeing TARP. And the first director gets the cool job of designing a seal for the new agency. My suggestion: Warren riding a fiery chariot while hurling lightning bolts at Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke.

    – Best of all, the bill contains a provision that, in the event of another government request for emergency aid to prop up the financial system, debate in Congress be limited to just 10 hours. Anything that can get Congress to shut up can’t be all bad.

    morning peeps!

VF, re: Obama being good for America, actually that h/t goes to President Reagan. At least that is what I said about 30 years ago. haha

There is validity to this argument. There is nothing like a good economic crisis or moral outrage to motivate people to action.
That happened with Reagan and although Reaganomics was touted to be “revolutionary” it never lived up to that claim. In the end it did more harm than good, but at least it helped to motivate youth in America. Never underestimate the power of angry youth.

This is an interesting quote from an article I found about Reaganomics written originally in 1987 by Murray N. Rothbard, I believe:

“All of this, along with the universal misperception of Reaganomics, illustrates once more the wisdom of those incisive political philosophers, Gilbert and Sullivan: “Things are not always what they seem; skim milk masquerades as cream.”

Murray N. Rothbard (1926–1995) was dean of the Austrian School. He was an economist, economic historian, and libertarian political philosopher.

Unemployment for Americans 55 and older surged 331 percent over the past decade, according to a new analysis by the AARP Public Policy Institute.

“The data clearly shows that older workers have faced a devastating rise in unemployment, with far-reaching implications not only for their employment status but also for their health and retirement security,” said AARP spokeswoman Mary Liz Burns. Burns added that unemployment puts a particularly tough squeeze on middle-aged folks — who often have to provide for kids moving back home after college and elderly parents.

hi SH! I know it’s bad out there for seniors. It’s bad for youth and for the middle aged too! damn, we are all in deep sh!t.

perhaps if we eschewed blogging and spent more time in pursuit of employment? I know it is discouraging when you spend hours looking for what does not exist. I learned at the employment agency that the best way to get a job is through socializing (no, not health care silly). and you know what, it’s true! networking, socializing, meeting folk outside of the front desk will get you work more readily than submitting dozens of resumes online or in person even.

And if we are lucky enough to get a job like foxy’s, we may be able to continue blogging after we land that job! whoo hoo. 🙂

  157. Foxwood says:

    Like I just said…

Liberal economics are to TAX from birth to grave with no economic or job growth.

  158. rosehips says:

well, foxy. you could always petition to have me censored. 😉

foxy said: The problem with putting liberal garbage on a Conservative blog, is that the trash has to be taken to the dump. And I’m the trashman.

  159. samhenry says:

Exactly – I just noted that you were responding to FOX and not me LOL

  160. samhenry says:

Rose my last comment was for you! This is such a good example of not reading carefully on a blog. And your comment did fit in nicely with my other one LOL.

    Forgive an old Ph….t

  161. Foxwood says:

“Murray N. Rothbard (1926–1995) was dean of the Austrian School. He was an economist, economic historian, and libertarian political philosopher.”

    And full of Communist CRAP!

  162. rosehips says:

and old Ph…t? what is that sh? Phart? heehee

  163. samhenry says:

Rose – Worse, I had two iterations of this blog up and got lost!

  164. rosehips says:

    bring it on, Joe Mcfoxy!

foxy said: And full of Communist CRAP!

  165. samhenry says:

Ph..t is a whiste that escapes a posterior orafice. LOL

  166. Foxwood says:

What you fail to understand (most liberals do, it’s not your fault), is that it did work. Clinton reaped the benefits of the Reagan/Bush policies.

  167. rosehips says:

the more pungent the better? haha

SH said: Ph..t is a whiste that escapes a posterior orafice. LOL

  168. rosehips says:

    it worked? according to whom?

  169. Foxwood says:

    Naw, I like spanking you better… 🙂

  170. samhenry says:

FOX – Clinton reaped the benefits of the Reagan/Bush policies.

By this do you mean that he decided to whistle our his anterior orafice?

  171. Foxwood says:

    According to any non communist.

  172. Foxwood says:

Rosey, To understand, you have to have an education. Not an indoctrination.

  173. rosehips says:

love it when foxy cites his influences. pick an non-commie, any non-commie…anyone will do.

  174. Foxwood says:

You don’t tax businesses into the dirt. Did you know that 10% of Americans pay 90% of the taxes?

No wonder there are no jobs.

Go back to school Rosey. Not to some commie school tho.

  175. rosehips says:

ahhh, now I understand. my problem is I am uneducated? or educated by commies?

  176. rosehips says:

and where are you educated foxy?

  177. Foxwood says:

    Commienomics…

  178. Foxwood says:

“my problem is I am uneducated? or educated by commies?”

    Thank you for understanding… 🙂

  179. rosehips says:

This is worth repeating. Better than 4 years of collage!

  180. Foxwood says:

    I was educated properly. I didn’t have Communist/Atheist teachers.

  181. samhenry says:

O have to go get dog food.

As the French said to the English in Monty Python in the Holy Grail – I send a whistle in your general direction

  182. Foxwood says:

Do you want to read the Communist manifesto Rosey?

You don’t have to. You spout it. Had to be your education?

  183. rosehips says:

foxy, when you are educated by the uneducated, you can learn a very valuable lesson. Maybe there is a reason that person flunked out of college?

  184. Foxwood says:

    Things a Communist/Marxist would say…

“capitalism is not the fix-all for our problems.”

“we tried that and businesses failed miserably.”

“I never said we should kill granny. Just put her out to pasture.”

  185. Foxwood says:

So much communism from one that claims not to be one.

  186. rosehips says:

love it when you repeat yurself, foxy… 😉

  187. rosehips says:

what about my desire to take ss and medicare entitlements away from the rich foxy? Doesn’t that warrant repeating?

  188. samhenry says:

“I never said we should kill granny. Just put her out to pasture.” LOL

What a way too say good-bye, FOX. I’ll fix you at the threads!

  189. Foxwood says:

“love it when you repeat yurself,”

Only because you keep REPEATING the same Commie CRAP!

  190. rosehips says:

well at least I put a new twist on most of the things I say. It gets so booooring when you repeat the same old stuff in the same old way.

  191. Foxwood says:

Repeat the Commie Crap and you best look out for me to say something about it. I’m not telling you you have to stop it, but I will correct it.

  192. Foxwood says:

It’s nice to know you don’t deny it. 🙂

  193. rosehips says:

SH, that is something I said one morning when I was in a sarcastic mood. I really wish there was a more dignified way to go like the Native American women who go out into the woods to die.
In Wash over 30 peeps have taken advantage of the death with dignity law we passed. I am a big advocate of allowing people to die with dignity, even if other’s call it sinful.

  194. rosehips says:

deny what? that I’m a communist? hahahaha

I am not a communist foxy. You can tear your anal hairs out trying to prove it. Have at it! If what I say mimics Marx than so be it. Do it make me a communist? maybe in your eyes. so form a commission and have me blacklisted. From what would you blacklist me anyway? a gov’t job? HAHAHAHAHAHA

    better luck next term….

  195. Foxwood says:

“In Wash over 30 peeps have taken advantage of the death with dignity law we passed. I am a big advocate of allowing people to die with dignity, even if other’s call it sinful.”

So you said it, and meant it…

  196. rosehips says:

    repeat, but with a twist:

if what I say mimics Marx, then so be it. Does it make me a communist? perhaps, in your eyes. I consider Marx a genius, so any comparison to him I consider a complement. Thanks foxy.

  197. rosehips says:

    said what? what you quoted?

ABSOLUTELY! Have I tried to deny it?

  198. rosehips says:

are you opposed to gov’t assisted suicide foxy?
    hahahahaa

  199. rosehips says:

I fully support a person’s right to take their own life. I don’t think it should be illegal, especially in the case of terminal illness that would burden the surviving family.

  200. Foxwood says:

I don’t have to prove it Rosey. All I have to do is hear you talk it.

  201. Foxwood says:

Everyone else here hears you talk it also. 🙂

  202. rosehips says:

and what do you think should be done to me foxy?

  203. Foxwood says:

    So you like Marx…
    Hmmmmm…

  204. Foxwood says:

Most Marxists and Communists today deny they are.

  205. rosehips says:

Did I say I liked Marx? No.

I said I think he was a genius. If you say that what I say is what he said, then I say that what you say about what I say is a complement.

  206. Foxwood says:

Oh… Just stay here so I can continue to out you. 🙂

    We need examples.

  207. rosehips says:

so do you contend that they really secretly think they are marxists, but deny it?

  208. Foxwood says:

“If you say that what I say is what he said, then I say that what you say about what I say is a complement.”

    Very sly, Rosey… 🙂

  209. Foxwood says:

Some Marxists, ROSEY (wink wink) don’t know it.

  210. Foxwood says:

    It’s called indoctrination… 🙂

  211. rosehips says:

yes foxy, McCarthy was like that too. If you can’t find any “out” commies, just fabricate accusations against them. Quote them and show how closely the words mimic Marx. Condemn them for being ignorant and indoctrinated. Show how much you hate and despise them. Others will surely see your pure and forthright objective and will follow in step to eradicate the demonic commie bastards who are hiding throughout our great United States in the cities, hills, and throughout the entire blogosphere. You have one heck of a job ahead of you my friend.

  212. Foxwood says:

See, Rosey, there are those that indoctrinate, then those that got indoctrinated but they just didn’t know it. Poor things.

  213. Foxwood says:

Communist out themselvs, Rosey. They can’t help it. They open their mouths.

  214. rosehips says:

lol, thanks for the pity foxy. hahahaa

  215. rosehips says:

and again, to repeat myself, what is it that should be done with us?

  216. Foxwood says:

You got me Rosey. I hate. I hate Communists, Marxist, Socialists and Progressives. SO F-ing WHAT?

My motto: “Kill a Commie for your mommy”.

  217. rosehips says:

perhaps a commie tat on my forehead to alert potential employees that if they hire me, they will be staring down the barrel of a union contract in no time flat. haha

  218. rosehips says:

would you ever considering killing a person for their political beliefs foxy?

  219. Foxwood says:

“and again, to repeat myself, what is it that should be done with us?”

I don’t want to call you ignorant Rose. I answered that 3 comments ago. They do teach to read in public schools, I’ll grant that.

  220. Foxwood says:

I’ve never been in the Army, Rose. Ask Sami or Arlene.

  221. rosehips says:

yes and they teach us the diff between good grammar and poor too. 😉

foxy said: They do teach to read in public schools, I’ll grant that.

  222. Foxwood says:

Did you know that Americans used to kill Communists and Facists, Rose?

    Oh your a peacenik…

  223. rosehips says:

you don’t have to call me ignorant foxy. You’ve implied it many times.

  224. Foxwood says:

“yes and they teach us the diff between good grammar and poor too. 😉 ”

    That was a funny line!!!

  225. rosehips says:

foxy, not really talking about war. I mean if you listened to a commie spouting their diatribe, do you think you’d be capable of killing him/her?

  226. Foxwood says:

Rosey, Think about this before you ask me. Would a Commie consider killing someone. You’ve already admitted to this tho.

  227. rosehips says:

do you know that the US helped to depose democratic governments and helped to impose military dictatorships?

  228. rosehips says:

would I consider killing someone? Yes, but only with their full consent. I would never, ever kill someone because I disagreed with their politics, no matter how many lives I think it might cost us.

  229. Foxwood says:

So now it’s time to manage the decline of the U.S.

I know how much you hate the U.S.

Did you know that is what Obutthole is doing. Sounds like you might agree with him. Open your mouth so more. Show yourself.

  230. rosehips says:

the US historically has a rep for thinking that what is good for the goose, might be bad to give the gander because then they will threaten our goose…geesh.

  231. Foxwood says:

Rosey, Communists would consider killing. Read the Communist manifesto. You’ll see yourself.

  232. Foxwood says:

You do hate the U. S. You spout it every time you open your mouth.

“the US historically has a rep for thinking that what is good for the goose, might be bad to give the gander because then they will threaten our goose…geesh.”

  233. rosehips says:

foxy, I have nothing to hide. I enjoy the right of free speech. I am still waiting to hear what it is that you think should be done to me for expressing my views? I’ve heard you say McCarthy was misunderstood. Could you tell us a little more about what it was we misunderstood?

  234. Foxwood says:

“the US historically has a rep for thinking that what is good for the goose, might be bad to give the gander because then they will threaten our goose…geesh.”

That’s the indoctrination Crap I was telling you about.

  235. rosehips says:

foxy, despite what you would love to see, I am not here to defend communists and what they believe. If they consider killing, then they not for me. Comprendo????

  236. rosehips says:

yes foxy, that is indoctrinated into me. I learned that in kindergarden. didn’t you?

  237. Foxwood says:

I’m not shutting you up, Rosey. You have free speech. What your doing is outing yourself…

Go ahead! Keep talking by all means.

  238. Foxwood says:

I comprehend they you don’t know your indoctrinated. You spout the crap because you learned it.

  239. rosehips says:

    outing myself as a communist?

Can I see it put a little clearer foxy? Can you honestly say you think I am a communist? or are you afraid to say it?

  240. rosehips says:

of course I learned it foxy. What do you know about history that you haven’t learned?

  241. rosehips says:

foxy, you out yourself as well. you just don’t realize it.

  242. Foxwood says:

I wasn’t taught Communist was good. You might not have been taught that either, but the major difference is that you still spout the Commie Bullsh!t. I don’t.

  243. Foxwood says:

HAHAHAHAHAAHAHH!!! I out myself of a Conservative blog were everyone here says the same thing I say.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

  244. rosehips says:

everyone here says the same as you? uh. don’t think so foxy. If they did, I wouldn’t be here.

  245. Foxwood says:

Shhh!!! it’s ok for you to show your commie ways.

  246. rosehips says:

This is what happens when industry is left unregulated…very sad.

The awful cost of a rural lead-smelting miracleStruggling peasants welcomed the expansion of a local industry. Then people got sick

JIYUAN, China–When news began circulating that the smelting industry in this remote farming area was about to expand, peasants rejoiced.

Lead smelters would bring jobs, they knew, and jobs meant prosperity. And so the smelters moved into the countryside, bringing their enormous transformative power.

Jiyuan’s rutted roads were smoothed over with cement and shaped into big, broad boulevards.

The local government built a cultural palace big enough to rival Beijing’s Great Hall of the People.

And then came a basketball stadium, so swish and stylish it would be the envy of any NBA city.

But that’s not all the new industry brought. Today, years later, Jiyuan is at the centre of a lead poisoning epidemic. Its blue skies are gone, its fruits and vegetables stunted, its children poisoned.

  247. Foxwood says:

    You are nieve, Rosey. 🙂

  248. Foxwood says:

Commie crap Rosey. Your jedi bullshit don’t work here.

  249. rosehips says:

and you are omnipotent foxy. 🙂

  250. Foxwood says:

The United States today is what happens when your regulate the shit out of a country.

  251. rosehips says:

your jedi references don’t work with me. not a star wars fanatic…

  252. Foxwood says:

    And your impotent, Rosey. 🙂

  253. rosehips says:

lol foxy. sure doesn’t look that way. 😉

  254. Foxwood says:

“everyone here says the same as you”

    That’s why I’m here, Rosey! 🙂

  255. rosehips says:

foxy, I come here to be entertained. and I thank you.

  256. Foxwood says:

Do you enjoy seeing the decline of the United States? Seems, like the President, you feel like you have to apologize for our transgressions. And since it was Capitalist Imperialism that cause our transgressions, that it must decline and in managed declination, so that a better system can be installed.

If you teach the children the America is bad and that you need to worship the world, it’s so much easier to guide the citizens into a world order.

How do you feel about that, Rosey?

  257. rosehips says:

so glad you feel that you can put words to me feelings. did I really say this or is it something I said? What exactly did I say that leads you to this statement below?

foxy said: you feel like you have to apologize for our transgressions.

  258. rosehips says:

and just what better system do I propose foxy? god your simple ways of deductive thinking amaze me.

  259. rosehips says:

and I believe in God worship and through God ‘s wisdom and love we should respect and protect the earth. Where does that fall in Marxist theory oh educated one?

  260. rosehips says:

and please help me understand. Should we not educate our children to the indescretions of our great country in the hopes that we can rise above our past and foster honesty and integrity in our leaders? Do we revise our history to mask our involvement in coups of democratically elected governments? Or should we tell our children the truth and let them decide whether our actions were justified for the greater good?

  261. Foxwood says:

Or we teach the children that we are bad so we can bring in a new world order, Rosey. you don’t see that or you secretly endorse it.

  262. Foxwood says:

My opinion is that your not stupid and secretly endorse it. 🙂

  263. rosehips says:

funny how you discredit our history books but would replace them with diatribe that I’m sure would conveniently pass over our involvement in Central American coups and anywhere else we’ve put our dirty fingers. I am all for the truth, warts and all.

  264. rosehips says:

if truth equals a “secret” endorsement, okay. What am I endorsing?

  265. rosehips says:

foxy, maybe you should go back to cnn for an education. I do not have the heart to argue your points. sorry.

  266. Foxwood says:

“funny how you discredit our history books but would replace them with diatribe that I’m sure would conveniently pass over our involvement in Central American coups and anywhere else we’ve put our dirty fingers. I am all for the truth, warts and all.”

Oh you know me, huh Rosey?

  267. rosehips says:

    American imperialism bad,
    New World order good.

okay peeps. I guess I’m busted. No need to infiltrate this blog any more. I’ve been exposed.

  268. Foxwood says:

“I do not have the heart to argue your points. sorry.”

Because your points are wrong. and if you re-read the thread above, you know what you secretly endorse. 🙂

    bye

  269. Foxwood says:

Thanks for the clarification Rose. 🙂 I’m happy now.

  270. rosehips says:

lol foxy, no but I can only judge by what you say here. You did say this didn’t you:

Or we teach the children that we are bad so we can bring in a new world order, Rosey. you don’t see that or you secretly endorse it.

  271. rosehips says:

glad you are happy foxy. now go rewrite the history books and show how great the US has been throughout history. Don’t worry about leaving out the bad stuff. Afterall, the ends justify the means. If you give our youth the truth and let them sort out the good from the bad it could lead to a new world order.

and if you need help with grammar, go on over and debate with your college boys. They may help you out so that you don’t make a fool of yourself with a history book that is full of gramatical errors.

  272. Foxwood says:

    Are you pissed Rosey! 🙂

Your funny when your pissed. 🙂

  273. Foxwood says:

Did I tell you, I’m having a great day?

    How about you? 🙂

  274. Foxwood says:

There is no way I can stifle your freedom of speech.

Don’t expect to give bad information and not be corrected.

  275. rosehips says:

ha. bad information? so are you disputing America intervention in central american democracies?

    correct me please foxy.

perhaps you are mistaking pissed off with playfulness? you haven’t seen pissed off. hehehehehe 🙂

  276. rosehips says:

that is the greatest pleasure I get from debating you foxy. You, as a constitutionalist, cannot stifle me, as much as you would love to smash me and my liberal thoughts into a pancake and then you’d love to piss on it and whatever else your burning hate would allow. I know it’s sick that I get pleasure from that. I should seek professional help.

foxy said: There is no way I can stifle your freedom of speech.

  277. Foxwood says:

The problem with putting liberal garbage on a Conservative blog, is that the trash has to be taken to the dump. And I’m the trashman.

  278. rosehips says:

the irony is that you have no place to put the trash foxy. so sad….

  279. Foxwood says:

OK… I can see there’s no more point to this today, Rosey… Time to get along…

    If your happy, I’m happy.

  280. Foxwood says:

I’m sure others got a kick out of it too. 🙂

  281. rosehips says:

foxy, that is like you putting on a trashman’s suit, walking around the neighborhood and putting big signs on the piles of trash on the curb. The signs say GARBAGE in big letters. Now it is up to the people walking by to determine if what you label as garbage is actually garbage.

The sad thing is that many people will believe you but the good thing is that people with discerning minds will open up the bags and decide for themselves. phew.

  282. Foxwood says:

I got this big dump box where I burn my trash Rosey!

  283. samhenry says:

Good Grief, you two are getting down and dirty:

    Rose said:

you would love to smash me and my liberal thoughts into a pancake and then you’d love to piss on it

Rose, I will never look at a pancake again without thinking of you LOL.

  284. Foxwood says:

Hmmmm. That piece of chicken still looks good!

  285. Foxwood says:

    SamH! Don’t worry be happy!

  286. rosehips says:

    truce foxy?

okay, sure. I can stop now. 😉

  287. samhenry says:

If you guys are down to dump boxes, I had better go make lunch. I have a friend coming over. I am going to bake lamb chops with garlic and rosemary. I love them baked.

I think we may go see Alice in Down Underland. It is so sunny here I hate to.

I fell on the ice again in my own driveway. I hope the back will not hurt too bad this time. I was not using my walker. Must do that.

    Love to you two

    SamHenry

    DOG reluctantly hangs up phone.

  288. rosehips says:

SH, I know what you mean. I thought about other things he might like to do, but I stopped myself. haha

  289. Foxwood says:

I thought you said truce, Rosey? Why do you want to “stir it up”?

    “bake lamb chops”

SamH? What will Sherri Lewis say?

  290. Foxwood says:

SamH! Be careful! Don’t take chances on the ice.

  291. Foxwood says:

Truce? Naw, just an armistice. I got work to get done.

  292. Foxwood says:

    “correct me please foxy. ”

I’m afraid you might like it. 🙂

  293. Foxwood says:

This is what LSD can do for you!

  294. rosehips says:

love the pink floyd song foxy. Thanks for the drug education. Never did lsd. I didn’t think a chemical would be a good thing to ingest. I knew a lot of dumb asses that did though. They had a great time. I guess I was a little jealous. haha

  295. Foxwood says:

    I miss the parties…

I remember talking to a roach once… Not a burnt joint, but a bug. He wanted to harvest my plant in the bathroom…

  296. Foxwood says:

Syd Barrett went to the institute for LSD abuse.

  297. Foxwood says:

Debating? 🙂 Rosey, not being mean here, I promise. It was like being with my second wife! Your a hoot tho!

  298. Foxwood says:

Check out the video above, Rosey!

  299. Foxwood says:

You have to have your headphones on and be really receptive (wink wink nudge nudge) to hear the barely perceptible “thank you” at the end.

  300. m2 says:

This is hilarious! This is a letter from the German tabloid Bild to the Greek Prime Minister. Keep in mind Greece is burning because of the overtake of the nation by Unions and also the Socialism misery they’ve instituted.

    Dear prime minister,
If you’re reading this, you’ve entered a country different from yours. You’re in Germany.
Here, people work until they are 67 and there is no 14th-month salary for civil servants. Here, nobody needs to pay a €1,000 bribe to get a hospital bed in time.
Our petrol stations have cash registers, taxi drivers give receipts and farmers don’t swindle EU subsidies with millions of non-existent olive trees.
Germany also has high debts but we can settle them. That’s because we get up early and work all day.
We want to be friends with the Greeks. That’s why since joining the euro, Germany has given your country €50bn.

  301. rosehips says:

foxy, did I ever tell you my oldest sis saw pf nine times? holy cow! I was in absolute awe of her when I was a young teen. She even saw them in Carnegie Hall. I was smitten with my own sister..haha and her bf. lol

  302. Foxwood says:

Wow, M2, Greece is showing us what Socialism could (WILL) do to us. Maybe we need to take notice?

I doubt Obutthole will. Let’s just regulate the sh!t out of businesses till they’ve all left the country. That’s what a leftist Communist would do.

  303. rosehips says:

yes where shall our businesses go? definitely not Greece. That fo’ sho’!

  304. rosehips says:

serious question. If Obama’s regs are too much, where will, or are, our businesses going? Where will they go when the same constraints are placed on them as they face here? just throwing that out…

  305. Foxwood says:

These dik Democraps in Congress are going to get voted out one way or the other. If they vote for HC, the people will vote them out. It they vote against, Obutthole will make sure they are out.

They are getting voted out. It’s a matter of conscience how they get voted out.

  306. Foxwood says:

They ARE going to China and India where guess what? Global pollution anyway!!!

  307. Foxwood says:

In the salad bar of Socialism, Greece is the water chestnut to Germany’s green leaf lettuce.

In the salad bar of Obama’s Keynesian decline of the United States to pure Socialism, California is the water chestnut.

No bailouts. No socialism. Down with Unions.

  309. Foxwood says:

We have to break down and stop the spending, and pay off debts.

It’s going to hurt, but if we don’t, it’s going to hurt worse. There is no way out of it. This BULLSH!T one world economy is why we are here. We can’t go back to the gold system, but we can see the land grab. The dollar, if it doesn’t totally collapse first, will be backed by land, because there is not enough gold in the world to go back to the gold system.

And I hear people say that there is only so big a piece of pie. Why is it we can’t go back to the gold system then? But I digress.

We may have to have a land standard dollar, but I don’t want the government owning my land or house. That’s not Capitalism.

  310. Foxwood says:

Just to educate some on this blog. If it’s not pure free market Capitalism, it’s NOT Capitalism, PERIOD. At best, it’s Socialism.

  311. rosehips says:

foxy, next you’ll be suggesting an information currency, eh?

  312. Foxwood says:

“next you’ll be suggesting an information currency, eh?”

Makes you sound so smart… 🙂

  313. Foxwood says:

“next you’ll be suggesting an information currency”

    I’m not suggesting… it’s coming.

LONDON (Reuters) – British Prime Minister Gordon Brown told an official inquiry into the Iraq War on Friday that joining the 2003 U.S.-led invasion had been the right decision and denied he had left the military short of funding.

Brown, appearing just weeks before an election to discuss a war that still rankles with many Britons, acknowledged the human cost of the conflict, said mistakes had been made in the chaotic aftermath of the invasion but distanced himself from the most contentious decisions.

“I believe we made the right decision for the right reasons,” Brown told the five-person inquiry that he set up last year to learn lessons from the conflict following the withdrawal of British troops.

Brown said that former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein was a “serial violator” of international law and that tackling him had been an important test for world powers after the Cold War.

“Obviously the loss of life is something that leaves us all sad, the loss of life particularly after the success of the initial military operation to remove Saddam Hussein is something that leaves me very sad indeed,” he said.

Commentators say Brown can expect some uncomfortable headlines from his appearance at the inquiry but do not believe it will cause him or Labor any lasting electoral damage.

They argue most Britons who were deeply opposed to the Iraq war had already abandoned Labor at the 2005 election.

Brown, finance minister at the time of the invasion, is the most prominent figure to give evidence since his predecessor Tony Blair made a highly publicized appearance in January.

While Blair was criticized for saying he had no regrets about the conflict, Brown expressed sorrow for the deaths of both British servicemen and Iraqi civilians at the beginning and end of the hearing.

Although a far less vocal advocate of the war than Blair, critics, including senior civil servants and military chiefs, have accused Brown of failing to provide enough funding to equip troops properly.

Some relatives of the 179 British soldiers killed in Iraq said this led to unnecessary deaths and had urged the inquiry team to press Brown for answers.

    LOOMING ELECTION

The issue of support for Britain’s military remains relevant because 10,000 troops are fighting in Afghanistan and face a similar threat from insurgents.

“There was no time … when the Treasury said this is a better military option because it’s cheaper or less costly,” Brown told the inquiry. “Every request that military commanders made to us was answered. No request was ever turned down.”

The invasion of Iraq has been one of the most damaging episodes during the Labor Party’s 13 years in power, provoking internal divisions and huge public protests.

With an election due by June 3 and polls indicating that Britain is on course for a hung parliament, Brown would have wanted to avoid giving ammunition to his opponents.

Despite appeals by the inquiry’s chairman not to make the probe political, the opposition Conservative Party accused Brown of shirking the blame for any errors that had been made.

“Gordon Brown was a member of the inner circle, but true to form he didn’t want to take any responsibility for decisions which had negative consequences,” said Conservative defense spokesman Liam Fox.

“He admitted that planning for the war was deficient, but with typical weasel words he tried to pin the blame on everyone else, above all the Americans.”

Brown focused on Saddam’s failure to comply with United Nations resolutions as a justification, saying he had hoped diplomacy would prevail until the last minute.

He said lessons learned from mistakes on rebuilding Iraq were being applied in Afghanistan.

“We couldn’t persuade the Americans that this had to take the priority that it deserved. I regret this. I can’t take responsibility for everything that went wrong,” he said.

“We won the battle within almost seven days but it has taken us seven years to win the peace in Iraq.”

We cannot have one ethnic group in this ethnically diverse country pressure Congress to take a moral stand no matter how justified. This is a resolution that needs to be made by agreement of many nations. This is a far more effective response and will not put the US in the position of being a one-country UN.

    Examples debunk health care myths
    Trudy Rubin The Spokesman-Review

One of the most bewildering aspects of the current health care debate is the failure to learn key lessons from health systems abroad.

Conservative talk show hosts decry the alleged evils of “socialized medicine” in countries with universal health coverage; they warn grimly of rationed health care. Yet there’s nary a peep from Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck – let alone Congress – about countries such as Germany, France, Switzerland, or Japan, where coverage is universal, affordable, and top quality, and patients see private doctors with little or no waiting.

And, oh yes, their health costs are a fraction of our bloated numbers: The French spend 10 percent of GDP on health care, the Germans 11 percent, and they cover every citizen. We spend a whopping 17 percent and leave tens of millions of Americans uninsured.

  338. samhenry says:

Hey Rose. Now I know I will never make it back to bed for my mid-morning nap, lol. I’ve been up since 4 writing. I heard a professor say once – write when you feel you want to and the time usually settles into a range. Mine is 3-6 AM, ugh.

  339. samhenry says:

Rose – I envy your 60 degrees. It will be in the 30s to 40s for a time more here. Just enough to be annoying. I do hear, however, that with his increasing power, when Obama frowns, the clouds gather.

  340. rosehips says:

  353. Foxwood says:

I still find it funny about the lies the left tell. The prime minister of Canada comes to the US to get medical care. Now that’s telling. If someone want’s Commuinized healthcare so bad, she can walk across the border.

  354. rosehips says:

you said “They hate you there”…I doubt anyone inferred that all Indonesians hate Obama or that there are none who love Obama.

What I said was that the article shows a rational view. How can you contend that I’m stating a fact? I don’t think this can be proven one way or the other. Must we put “in my opinion” or “imo” after every opinion? Can’t we assume that others will know this is opinion? Will you agree to put “in my opinion” after all your opinions?

  355. samhenry says:

Ah, well, trapped in arguments beyond his ken, THE DOG sees images of an Ibsen character leaving with a slam to the door. Ah ha, and he slams the hatch on the great ship VF and boards a hot air baloon fueled by this mornings discussions.

  360. samiam60 says:

    IN MY OPINION:

I think this whole left right thing boils down to only one thing.

“This editorial in the moderate Spokesman Review shows a rational view about socialized medicine. It is nice to see an unbiased article on the subject…”

Most lefty Communists call themselves moderate and centrist. It’s an old lefty Communist trick.

  362. rosehips says:

sami, thanks for your encouragement. Any doo doo is not coming from me. I am just posting an opinion that I respect.
It “opins” that other countries are providing good health care for far less than we spend. I think humility would be valuable here. Can we not admit to our failure and take guidance from those who are providing a better model? The article pointed out the difference in amount of GDP that we spend on hc compared to France and Germany. It certainly does come down to money. What if we could cut our percentage by more than a half? Who here has received health care in France? I’d love to hear how inadequate it is…

  363. samhenry says:

    DOG yells from balloon

    “Bullcraaaaaaaaaaaa

  364. Foxwood says:

Doo doo is doo doo Rose. Considering this is a Conservative blog, Liberalism here is trash as doo doo.

  365. samhenry says:

DOG picks up the radio phone on the balloon and says:

Rose – remember the health care summit? I thought one argument the Repubs made was important. That the US was too big and complicated for a national program. Because of that, we need to leave much of this to the states or in private hands with the government ensuring things like caps on insurance costs, legal settlements, etc.

  366. samiam60 says:

    Rosie,

I can only comment from my personal experiences at the Veterans Hospitals. Government Run anything will ration Health Care and Quality of Life. I am living proof of this as are many other Veterans. No one can argue with this, not even you.

  367. rosehips says:

whatever foxy. you don’t give opinion? okay.
    I’ll remember that…

well fox, you may call the Spokesman Review lefty commies. They endorsed John McCain. I guess he is a commie in your book too. Right? Is that a fact?

I do not consider myself a centrist, I am not a moderate. what do you suppose I call myself foxy?

foxy said: Most lefty Communists call themselves moderate and centrist. It’s an old lefty Communist trick.

  368. Foxwood says:

    EW, Someone’s button pressed already?

  369. samiam60 says:

    John McCain is a Progressive.

  370. samhenry says:

Rose – you are rose. By any other name you are our friend Rose.

Rose – I forgot to add that the governments in the article are in countries with less population.

  371. Foxwood says:

I can definitely speak from the Indian Hospitals, Sami.

  372. rosehips says:

sh, I am all for the states providing universal health care but I would like to see it be carried over if you move. One reason I cannot go help my mom care for my dad is that I would lose my hc insurance if I leave the state.

  373. Foxwood says:

    And a Rose is Red.

  374. samiam60 says:

    Rose,

You know there is some Conservative in you somewhere. Feel the Force Rose. Let go and let the Force guide you.

    Jedi mind trick: lol

  375. rosehips says:

yes foxy, all my buttons have been pushed. You are a master button pusher. I am so pushed out that I am a raving lunatic.

there is something about an opinioned person claiming that they only state facts that gets my motor reving. heehee

  376. samhenry says:

I meant to add what others have proposed – that you could move it across state lines and Obama could move it across genders.

  377. VotingFemale says:

    Rose?

I, for one, did not decide their views were rational… in fact, I think their views are irrational as they ignore the real issue… in a perfect world such as the garden of Eden, there are no cares, no unfufilled needs or wants… no challenges or personal responsibilities for keeping one’s self alive and well… rather a “taken care of existence” by a higher power…

You obviously think their views are rational… but this is not the Garden of Eden and it is not the place of government to provide all things to all people. No where in the US Constitution is it written that the government provides for all needs of all citizens.

If folks want that, they should move to Sweden…

And you don’t speak for me, dear.

  378. samhenry says:

I guess all we are guaranteed is in the Declaration of Happiness I mean Independence. We are given the right to pursue happiness.

    Is everybody happy?

  379. rosehips says:

love how foxy implies I am a commie but will never come right out and say it, or will you foxy?

  380. samhenry says:

FOX, Rose is being clinical here this AM. She is a white rose.

Don’t go painting the rose red, OK? LOL

  381. samhenry says:

I slammed the door (hatch) I floated away – do I have to call myself a Commie to get some attention to my questions and statements on this barge?

  382. samhenry says:

The DOG thinks back to the unemployment stats or old people they published last week. I think they have gone up 301% in the past decade.

Then the DOG thinks upon gray hair and fat hips. No, out of work, gray-haired dogs that are not ROSE hips are like shadows on the cave wall.

  383. rosehips says:

vf, I hope I never, ever give the impression that I am speaking for you. I would never be so presumptuous.

I do not believe that we have a constitutional right to health care. I do not think we live in the Garden of Eden. I only feel that the government could learn from others how to protect its citizens from financial ruin simply because health care is beyond their reach. What kind of a country allows for its citizens to go untreated simply because they lack the resources to afford the exorbitant costs of American care.

I am sorry that my views are so divergent from the norm here. If you don’t like opposing views, I will respect that and I will shut up. If anyone is looking for a conservative cheerleader, you will not find one here. And the chances of me ever being one is zero to zilch.

  384. samhenry says:

Like Rose, THE DOG feels that a certain amount of comments alone on the blog are reason enough to slip away…..

  385. VotingFemale says:

Lets refrain from being tempted to name call folks… when it is in jest it is obvious that it is in jest, however.

I, for one, enjoy Rosehips interjections of opposing views… it stimulates debate.

    So let us, instead, debate.

  386. Foxwood says:

I’ve called you a commie before. You are a marxist.

  387. Foxwood says:

“but this is not the Garden of Eden and it is not the place of government to provide all things to all people. No where in the US Constitution is it written that the government provides for all needs of all citizens.”

    [a little round for Sunday]

  389. samhenry says:

Rose – remember CAT’s words of today

it keeps the place lively! 😉

NOT my IMO – her statement. woof

  390. VotingFemale says:

    Who Is The Government?

And, Where Does The Government Get Money?

    The Government creates No Money.

Life has no rights other than those granted by Nature. It is indeed a harsh reality… and no one with a modicum of reality can rationally argue with the Axiom: Life is not Fair.

Is it fair that one person wins a lottery? Should the Government step in and right that obvious unfairness? and if so, where will the money come from?

    Rosehips says…

I only feel that the government could learn from others how to protect its citizens from financial ruin simply because health care is beyond their reach.

  391. Foxwood says:

THE DOG returns to bed. THE DOG has been paid little attention – positive or negative. The DOG has not even been called a name other than the one dispensed at birth. Is this any way to live. I do not feel alive. There is no ebb and flow in my tide so I will away to my cloud to sleep, perhaps to have a socialist dream….

  393. m2 says:

    Hi ppls….
So there is micro chip mandate in HR3200. No matter what ppl feel they want, it’s not ex-SDS types (Obama and his congress, administration) that are going to provide it. This stealthcare coming from the top, is not just bad for debt. It will drive up premiums, thereby negating it’s usefulness. Only cover 10% more people… but push millions off their insurance. We can talk bout France and Germany all we want, but they are busy tryng to keep the EU propped up. France is forcing women out of hospital beds, not resources enough for laboring women. etc. etc. The amount of misery brought by Obamacare- of a population that is 250% greater in population than the “greatest” socialized countries is not worth what can be solved by even diverting that Democrat “slush fund” (stimulus) to the uncovered of USA.

In my opinion, dealing with reality is “rational”. And that is reality.

Obama and his terrorist anti-American killer friends that run his shadow gov’t and his greedy congress are not going to ever do anything altruistic or helpful to anyone.

  394. VotingFemale says:

  398. m2 says:

Slavery existed before the US. The people here started because the slave owners in Africa suggested it, they enslaved their own race there. There is so much focus on the US, but all throughout Europe, slavery had been happening for thousands of years. And before that, the ME and the east utilized slavery, hello Moses. Slavery is a blight on anthropological history, and I feel slavery to Congress and a Socialist government none the more sophisticated.

Individuals should be free to govern themselves. That is why the US has appealed to millions and been exceptional, above all other nations.

  399. rosehips says:

    hey m2!

foxy, just because I say Marx was a genius does not make me a Marxist. C’mon. Are you blind? If you don’t know enough about me by now (and you know enough to post my real name in the comment block) to know that I don’t ascribe to any one philosophy, you need to take a look back in time and read all my comments. You try to put me in a neat little box. You fail miserably. Can you do me a favor? Throw the box away. I’ll throw any box I think about putting you in. okay?

  400. VotingFemale says:

    Good Morning M2!

This sort of device would be implanted in the majority of people who opt to become covered by the public health care option.

But… the “public option” is not part of the Senate Bill currently in the House.

H.R 3200 did indeed mandate those availing the public option submit to being implanted with a data microchip.

  401. m2 says:

I should say, an “imperial congress” because that is how they are imposing their “Master” over us.

  402. samhenry says:

RE reparations for blacks – I believe Barack is for this?

The America of 1865 is no more. To those who are the descendants of slave owners – greetings wherever you are – I am now sure we know where you are to make you pay. But should the sins of the father…etc.

To everyone else – you don’t mind paying for something you not only do not know about but do not have in your history do you?

The seed of the slaves – Obama is not going to be your savior. You are. Use the tools the US government has always made available for those motivated to seek them out. What more can anyone say or pay beyond what time and I’m sorry and positive actions have been given to y ou?

  403. Foxwood says:

There was slavery in Rome. It had nothing to do with color. There has been war since Cain and Able. So bullsh!t reparations are nothing but that.

  404. VotingFemale says:

when where did Fox post your real name in public? Implying he did is not wise if it did not happen.

    SamH? lol

    good goggie!!!

I have commented on your blogpost… gave it an A+

  407. Foxwood says:

    Good morning M2!!

  408. m2 says:

Hello SH, Rose, VF, Sam, Fox.

SamHenry, of course Obama is for anything that is destructive and lacking in common sense. Instead of “reparations”, he calls it, “returnig the wealth to it’s rightful owner”. It’s all over the cap and trade legislation. There’s probably more in there about the “direct deposit of money into low-income households” than anything genuinely benefiting the environment.

  409. samhenry says:

    Dare I say, IMO

The Hatians were enslaving other Hatians just prior to the quake. They slold their sons and daughters to wealthy individuals who could do anything to them they wanted to do.

In South Africa today, they are preparing a large, modern stadium for the soccer championships later this year. In the shadow of that stadium, blacks are already training up kidnapped young kids to turn tricks.

Who of the above are of a race that is exempt from the ability to have slaves?

  410. rosehips says:

foxy, this is similar to saying that Indonesians hate Obama. Are we to think that all Brits and Canadians do not like their gov’t healthcare? Of course not. That would be prepostorous. (my word of the day 😉 )
It goes both ways. I may give an example of a friend who received adequate care in Canada. This does not mean that ALL Canadians are happy. He was happy this time but in the past he has experienced horror. I have had good and bad care in Canada. I used to use their system a lot. It is very affordable for non-residents, at least it used to be.

I contend that in the whole scheme of things, socialized medicine is better all around. I think we, as Americans, should be able to develop a system that works, but the environment in Congress and the country is not at all conducive to creating legislation that will work. It will be luke watered down warm and that is worse than nothing, imo.

foxy said: It is documented that Brits and Canadians do not like their government healthcare.

  411. Foxwood says:

I only point out socialist sh!t. If one spouts it, I correct it.

  412. Foxwood says:

Someone tends to get mad when I point it out to her.

  413. samhenry says:

    VF has said:
I have commented on your blogpost… gave it an A+

Right, CAAAAT and I gave you a THAAAAANKS and a whooohoooo

And now I am commenting on your post and…. and….andpersand….and….

  414. rosehips says:

    okay sorry for flashing, VF.

VF said: Again… lets debate and drop the personal barbs… I mean it, both of you.

  415. rosehips says:

SH, sorry to ignore you. I am having some hot flash moments and get on one track. I hope I haven’t offended you.

  416. samhenry says:

That would be prepostorous. (my word of the day 😉 )

Rose, my word of the day appears to be “goodbye” and I can’t keep using it like someone yelling “fire” where none is. I must observe my words IMO.

M2 I had no idea reparations were in Cap and Trade. Really, is Obama in here to clean up 200 plus years of what he considers bad behavior?

  417. m2 says:

VF, I know the senate bill is different, however considering the bad judgement of Obama and the SEIU or Tides or whoever the hell Soros funded organization writing the bills for Pelosi and Reid, we don’t know the full extent of te horrors that are contained within. If they can seriously microchip people, what can’t they do? They’re all sick in the mind. Judging by the quality of the stimulus which was written by the Stern, Soros friends- nothing they “write” will be “fair” or good for anyone. No one but the people who write it. That’s why socialism a la Germany style will never be in USA. The left here is so corrupted and greedy, the conditions so massive and impossible to implement without tidal waves of suffering and debt, it’s not even a relistic ideal to hold.

Anyway, based on policy and process these government thugs have already outer themselves as not caring a wit about this nation. The goal is to destroy it, since it’s standing in the way of their other unrealized unreal dream of enslaving the world in a government of social justice! i.e. Communism, Marxism, “Democracy”, Socialism… Whatever code word they are using now to denote mass servitude of the many by a few….

    VF says:
This sort of device would be implanted in the majority of people who opt to become covered by the public health care option.

But… the “public option” is not part of the Senate Bill currently in the House.

H.R 3200 did indeed mandate those availing the public option submit to being implanted with a data microchip.

  418. Foxwood says:

Communised medicine means just that, Rose, Communism. You can bury your head all you want, that’s what it is.

This bill proposes to fix only 10% of the population and make everybody elses healthcare government care in 5 years. You have to read the bill to see that.

The smart thing to do would be to fix the problems in healthcare and insurence, but who ever said liberals were smart?

  419. Foxwood says:

We must learn from our past people. But history is not taught in schools anymore.

“Medicine is the keystone of the arch of socialism.” — Vladimir Lenin

  420. m2 says:

One thing I noticed last week, I was perusing the front page of the dailymail.co.uk … The stories were unanimously showing a frustration with their socialism enslaved state.

Kids not getting the school they want even after waiting list, parents at a loss

more stories of healthcare denied by the state

chips in “bins” spying on people’s trash disposal

overweight woman denied a new knee by NHS

    — talk about a police state, with Bureaucrats guiding every indicidual’s supposes “choice” in life.

    Sounds lovely // sarcasm

  421. samhenry says:

No, Rose, I knew you were not ignoring me. It was CAT and FOX mainly. CAT the most. I did get an LOL out of her IMO!

    Then VF said:
H.R 3200 did indeed mandate those availing the public option submit to being implanted with a data microchip.

And I panicked. You had spoken of your hot flashes and now I thought she had said:

H.R. 3200 did indeed mandate those ovulating in public to be implanted with a data microchip.

  422. Foxwood says:

Looks like this one has come to fruition…

“The best way to destroy the capitalist system is to debauch the currency.” — Vladimir Lenin

  423. VotingFemale says:

I would shudder to think that if there were no checks and balances.. what Obama & Co would do to this country.

I have blogged from the beginning that Obama & Co is a communist menace to the United States… and every day brings more to support that view.

    m2 says

VF, I know the senate bill is different, however considering the bad judgment of Obama and the SEIU or Tides or whoever the hell Soros funded organization writing the bills for Pelosi and Reid, we don’t know the full extent of the horrors that are contained within.

  424. Foxwood says:

    Sorry SamH, I was “distracted”.

  425. VotingFemale says:

In my view, Obama is the third Communist to hold the office of President of the United States.

  426. samhenry says:

And that right there CAT is why I think you DID say that the controlling Freaking Freddie the 13th President proposed
H.R. 3200 did indeed mandate those ovulating in public submit to be implanted with a data microchip.

  427. samhenry says:

So FDR and his wife were the first communist/pinko

    Then Truman?

    Then Johnson?

Who do you have on your list?

  428. VotingFemale says:

    Rose?

How about Taxpayer funded Universal Doogie and Kitty Care?

  429. m2 says:

Well I’m off to get a donut at the local mom and pop donut shop!

Got to do these things, before Obamacare is enacted and I’m put to the pasture for eating fat and trans fats.

Also before Obama’s Satanic agenda of crushing this nation in debt, managing job loss and growing the welfare state while he puts in his healthcare/immigration framework to dispose of
this country’s liberty for once and all drives my mom and pop donut shop small business out of existence.

  430. Foxwood says:

Would that be Wilson, Roosevelt and then Obutthole?

  431. samhenry says:

I can vividly remember people saying FDR was a communist and that Eleanor was a “pinko.” It was probably more the other way around IMO

  432. samhenry says:

That sounds about right frog I mean FOX. You keep hopping around in your subjects it must have just sprung into my mind lol.

    Plunk your magic twanger froggie!

  433. samiam60 says:

Woodrow Wilson perhaps the worst of them all was the first tried and failed Communist President.
    He was a Elitist Progressive.

  434. samiam60 says:

    Good Morning M2.

  435. Foxwood says:

Government does nothing right with on exception, the military. And they only get that right when the politicians get out of the way.

The only thing they normally get right, is one of the FEW things given them power in the Constitution.

  436. rosehips says:

sorry, my ‘puter froze when I tried to go to a gov’t website. lol

vf, re doggie tax credits? I have posted comments on your blog about this. I find it preposterous!

    SAY WHAT!

  438. rosehips says:

vf, sorry. tax credits for pet care is a diff issue. NO I would not support gov’t subsidized pet care. I am very strongly against animals getting gov’t assistance. I know I can be heartless sometimes. I am all about euthanizing old sick animals and am against breeding for profit. hehe

  439. samhenry says:

You out jumped me on that one, FOX

  440. Foxwood says:

“sorry, my ‘puter froze when I tried to go to a gov’t website.”

Whew! I was hoping it wasn’t me… I just bathed!

  441. rosehips says:

I know too many people who spend way too much to keep old animals alive. In a way, it is similar to keeping granny alive. We spend most money on our pets in end of life care. Why not just stick a needle in them, or take em out to the woods and put a bullet in the back of their head?

  442. samhenry says:

And I need to take a bath. Rose, I was just keeping the Ole “red” fox company. ‘Course he is probably a gray American native fox. LOL

    Bye-Bye-loves

Later CAAAAAAT in the Tag Cloud.

  443. VotingFemale says:

    can’t fool you! lol

    Foxwood says

Would that be Wilson, Roosevelt and then Obutthole?

  444. Foxwood says:

Animals get subsidies all of the time. The wild horses have been given land by the government. But the real agenda is where that land is. If you do a little research, that land is where the shale oil is.

  445. rosehips says:

I know of a couple who spent over a thousand dollars to have their dog’s leg removed. It’s an old dog. They have a baby on the way and can’t afford the vet bill. But people do irrational things when love and emotion get in the way. At least that is my opinion. haha

  446. VotingFemale says:

  448. Foxwood says:

  449. rosehips says:

    Hmmmm… very telling…

  452. Foxwood says:

I always wondered about those three men in the tub.

  453. rosehips says:

lol sami. As I type this there is a stray cat wailing outside my window. I am tempted to put it out of its misery. haha

foxy, I would say to granny: “Granny, you’ve had a good life. I want to remember you as you are now. I don’t want to watch you wither and die. Don’t you owe it to me and the rest of your family to give us this one last memory of you? Now turn over. This might hurt a little. lol

  456. VotingFemale says:

Rose, “the government” can not subsidize a damn thing… the government does not earn a nickel.

What “the government” does is take from A and give A’s stuff to B.

The mistake Obama & Co keeps making is assuming this is not a Republic.

  457. rosehips says:

did you hear Utah is grabbing federal land to develop oil and gas? Whoohee, that’s why they call it the “outlaw west”

    You forgot the IMO…

  459. rosehips says:

I don’t think the founding fathers considered giving protection to nature because it might not have dawned on them how very important it would one day be to our very survival. If we really wanted to protect pets, we would not allow the inbreeding we are so ready to impose on them. We don’t allow it for people, why animals?

  460. VotingFemale says:

Did you hear that “the government” grabbed that land in the first place and Utah wants their damn state land back?

As Martha says “That’s a good thing.” We need to get of of foreign oil. I’m all for it.

  462. samiam60 says:

    Rose,

There is a whole lot of Human Inbreeding going on. Just look take a good look at Pelosi and Reid.

  467. rosehips says:

well good for Utah. I hope the people will realize the beauty around them is more precious than the natural gas reserves under their ground and will force the state to reconsider. I’m sure they won’t see it that way…at least most of them won’t.

  471. samiam60 says:

The biggest problem we are facing is the filling up of our Landfills. We are running out of place to dispose of our refuse. I would propose a long term solution to the Problem if I were a Progressive.

The Grand Canyon. We now have enough picture post cards of the Canyon for posterity and so I would say why not fill it with Nuclear and biological waste.

Rose I am re-posting this question to you from earlier since you ignored it:

I can only comment from my personal experiences at the Veterans Hospitals. Government Run anything will ration Health Care and Quality of Life. I am living proof of this as are many other Veterans. No one can argue with this, not even you.

  479. rosehips says:

sami, are you serious? Have you ever been to the bottom of the Grand Canyon?

foxy, are we keeping score now? What button did you push and congratulations for pushing it? You are so sly I didn’t even notice! hahahahaa

  482. Foxwood says:

And what about the Indian Hospitals, Rosey? I’ve experienced them and they are government ran, not so well I might add. Would you havc our HC system ran like the VA and Indian Hospitals?

  483. rosehips says:

sami, I know that you do not get adequate care from the VA. I think it’s a crime! Although I am against war unless all estimates of costs are considered. I think we should give you better care but we should have thought of that before we entered Vietnam. I’m all for giving vets their due however.
sami, can you not buy insurance through a private source?

  484. samhenry says:

Speaking of droppings, I thought I would drop this off for all of you. It is the status of the omnibus bill that would have claimed the lands connecting up some of the state parks.

There is a need for balance in everything. We can’t put resources off limits forever if there is a security risk in doing so. In every state where lands would have gone into this program, there has been loud uproar. The bill still has not passed.

IMO we CANNOT afford it even if it is the right thing to do. Obama is acting like he is in a socialist candy store.

Northern Rockies Ecosystem Protection Act – H.R. 980. This controversial bill would designate 23 million acres of land in Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming as wilderness, wild and scenic rivers, wildland recovery areas, and biological connecting corridors. The bill was introduced on February 11, 2009 and was referred to the Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands.

  485. samiam60 says:

Of Course I can buy Private Insurance Rose. All I need is a sustainale Income that I am counting on Obama to provide. IMO

  486. rosehips says:

no foxy, I don’t think the Indian hospitals are funded well as the vets hospital are not. You can’t do a half way job and expect people to be satisfied.

  487. samiam60 says:

    I spelled sustainable wrong. IMO

  488. rosehips says:

good luck trying to afford hc insurance sami. glad you feel you can blame obama for that. I’d say the opposite, b ut what do I know?

  489. Foxwood says:

“can you not buy insurance through a private source?”

Not after we get Obutthole Care.

  490. Foxwood says:

Still not answering the questions Rose.

  491. samiam60 says:

You are right Rosie. Yes you are. For me to buy Private Health Care Insurance at my age would be very very expensive. I agree with you on this.

I am all for seeing Private Health Care Reform.

I am against Government Run Health Care.

The difference is huge and will cost countless lives Rosie if this Government Run Health Care is passed.

  492. samiam60 says:

    Rosie,

I also do believe I did pay for my Veterans Health Care coverage at a price I would ask no one else to pay.

  493. Foxwood says:

You avoided the facts again Rose. The facts: Healthcare insureance is F-ed up.

Fact: some people have very good healthcare.

Fact: the bill says if will get those off of their very good insurance programs, except for unions, in 5 years.

Fact: we can fix healthcare without F-ing up everyones good healthcare.

Fact: Government can NOT fix healthcare, proven by the VA, Indian Hospitals, Post Office, DMV, Social Security, Medicade and Medicare.

  494. samiam60 says:

Soon I will be leaving for work. I am on today from 12 to 5 so it is a very short day for me.

I am hoping to be back on here after that lest Marshal Law is imposed before I get home.

We are under a State of Emergency you know.

What was it again? Swine Flu, or was it Global Warming? I forget.

  495. samhenry says:

Rose – ask CAT to tell you about the reservation hospital on her family’s tribal lands. It is one of the very best around as are the hospitals of other tribes. It is as much a function of how the tribes utilize the federal monies as it is what monies they get.

You can’t legislate morality – not now, not ever, never! SamHenry

  496. Foxwood says:

“IMO we CANNOT afford it even if it is the right thing to do. Obama is acting like he is in a socialist candy store.”

  499. Foxwood says:

Sami, My first wife was Full blood Chocktaw. We would wait hours to see a doctor in the emergency room. And like you, would wait for months for an appointment.

This is what “free” Obutthole Care will be like. Very similar to what the Canadians and Brits are seeing today. I for one don’t want it.

The big lie is, if we already have healthcare, we can keep it. But the bill says all healthcare will become Government Care after 5 years. Some people don’t read bills, and some people go with the underlying agendas attached to the bills (socialism).

  500. samhenry says:

Now above was one land grab. Here’s another he tried to pull more recently:

A secret administration memo has surfaced revealing plans for the federal government to seize more than 10 million acres from Montana to New Mexico, halting job- creating activities like ranching, forestry, mining and energy development. Worse, this land grab would dry up tax revenue that’s essential for funding schools, firehouses and community centers.

He tormented the Antiquities Act of
and was going to declare these places monuments.

I say this: Why does this have to be done by the Federal Goverment? Why can’t they wok with the states to achieve mutually acceptable goals? No one can have it all.

Obama would have forced states to raise taxes to make up for lost businesses on the taken from the states by the feds.

  501. Foxwood says:

Of course, SamH, there is the Fanny and Freddy land grab. What it looks like is Fanny and Freddy will not try the sell the homes to the public, but rent them.

That is what the Soviet Union did (not so sure about Russia today) and is what a Marxist government would try to do.

  502. Foxwood says:

Ok… time to start the grill!

  503. Foxwood says:

I can see where one day you can’t say that.

“Ok… time to start the grill!”

  504. Foxwood says:

    the green police.

  505. rosehips says:
