This is the Year of the Tea Party Voters taking Back our Country
Democrat John Murtha’s passing yesterday marked an end to his control of Pennsylvania’s 12th District House Seat held since 1974. This district is conservative leaning and favored McCain-Palin over Obama-Biden in the 2008 Presidential Election by a slim margin.
It is now time to start looking at PA-12 District Special Election conservative candidates, an election likely to be held on May 18, 2010; a date already set aside for Congressional Primary elections in Pennsylvania.
Obama-Pelosi-Reid will no doubt be focused as well as the DNC on this race as a loss to a GOP candidate would boost the record to 4 losses/0 wins for the Progressives starting with the NJ and VA governor elections in 2009 and the loss of a Massachusetts Senate seat to Scott Brown (R-MA).
People are fed the hell up with the Progressives’ record of behavior and Tea Party Voters have it in for the incumbent Progressive Majority.
Obama continues to fall in the Job Approval Polls and his ploy to shift blame for the failure of passage of the Socialized Medicine ObamaCare bill will surely fail to launch.
People understand ObamaCare enough to know it is an economy killer during a 9.7 unemployment crippling economic situation and economically unhealthy in any event.
The GOP Minority in Congress is not going to accept piece meal changes to the fatally flawed DEM designed Health Care Bills from the House and Senate; “that dog don’t hunt.” ObamaCare will have to be scrapped totally and a truly bipartisan bill will have to be written from the ground up. And… “that dog don’t hunt” for the Progressives in Congress.
RIP Murtha, Conservatives will put the PA-12 Seat to good use.

Like you, VF, I am also helping to unseat Patrick Kennedy. I feel for his medical condition and I recognize his ability to bring home to RI wonderful programs. But with the degree of corruption in the state, it is really unclear who is truly bringing these things “home.”

Sorry I missed that V. I lived in PA for about 15 years; my parents for 35. It killed mother, LOL. Actually, when they lived in Center City, the air pollution was so bad, the parents always had coughs and sore throats. They had to move to the Main Line. A good friend who moved to Center City from the Main Line ended up dying of cancer. So you see Rose, we do have some measurable effect on the atmosphere and marble statues that melt; people who die.
I will tell you, the Kennedy’s, except for poor Rose, came from a bootlegger. He was a criminal straight up. They were pals of old mayor Curly. They are part of the Irish mafia. And when they loose via a democratic process, they don’t just call out the candidate; they dump all over their constituents.

I actually once was in a contest like that with a boy. haha It was at a church picnic and we were young and there was only two of us and they needed to come up with a contest. It was some teenagers from our church. So this one guy takes me and this other kid to the kiddy pool to see who could stay under water the longest. My competitive side took over and the kid practically had to pull me up out of the water when I refused to come up after I won. God, I’m stubborn….

I really don’t know if human impacted climate change can be verified. It apparently has proved to be a challenge to some scientists who in their efforts to make their studies fit into their neat little boxes, they fudged data and discredited themselves. This is unfortunate.
All I really contend is that humans impact climate. I don’t rely on perfect science to believe this. It’s in my gut. Just like your gut tells you it’s all a big lie, foxy.
I believe most of climate change is part of a natural cycle. I really don’t know if there is anything we can do to slow the change down. I do know that whacky things are happening. There may be 4 ft of snow back east, but we have had the least snow since 1994! It’s frickin’ Springtime here and the Olympics are upon us. Bummer!
Speaking of the Olympics, all the medals were made by Teck Resources, the company that dumped tons and tons of slag and other contaminants in the Columbia River. It’s ironic that the medals for the first time are made from partly recycled medals that come from ewaste. Horray for Teck. Now clean up your f0ckin mess!

i know what you meant m2. I had a friend who was a radio nut. He would volunteer many hours at the station and subsidize his passion by being a janitor. If I had to clean up vomit and sh!t all night, I’d have to become a zen master and turn the job into my passion. or something.

I believe that there are many well meaning Liberals in this Country, and that they truly love America. Sadly what they don’t realize is that their ideology is hurting America. Unfortunately pride goes before the fall and so it is for that very reason you rarely see a Liberal admit that they may have been wrong. A strong sense of pride is what you find in a liberal and it is their own undoing.
You will find humility in a Conservative and a willingness to look at both sides of an issue. A Conservative can and will admit they are wrong when so proven. We don’t step on the gas we hit the brakes.

Luckily it wasn’t a job interview haha and in fact it was with a friend of mine and she just laughed. But when I go back there in a few I’m sure I’ll get teased. I’ll just say that I am enthusiastic and laugh at myself.

2/8: Obama Approval Rating Below 50% … Disapproval Among Majority of Independents

Fewer registered voters nationwide — 44% — currently approve of President Barack Obama’s job performance than disapprove — 47%. When Marist last asked about the president’s approval rating in December, 46% thought well of Obama’s job performance while 44% gave him low marks.
Perhaps, particularly concerning for Mr. Obama is the drop in support among Independents. For the first time since taking office, a majority of Independents — 57% — disapproves of how he is doing in the role. 29% approve, and 14% are unsure.
Not surprisingly, Democrats and Republicans are polarized. 81% of Democrats approve of the president’s job performance while a similar proportion of Republicans — 80% — disapproves.
“If attracting Independents and bipartisanship are the aim, then the president clearly has a lot of ground to cover in year two,” says Dr. Lee M. Miringoff, Director of The Marist Institute for Public Opinion.

In 2006, Massachusetts legislators passed a law that prohibited the sale of thermostats that contain mercury. They weren’t alone; over the past decade, 15 states have passed similar laws, in response to increasing concerns about the serious public health risks posed by mercury.
The laws had a measurable effect. According to a new report by a coalition of environmental protection groups, the use of mercury by the largest thermostat manufacturers dropped a dramatic 73 percent between 2001 and 2007 as the companies shifted to alternative products that could be sold in those states that now banned their mercury-based products. (And the drop in mercury use wasn’t limited to thermostats, the report notes; over that same period, manufacturers’ use of mercury—which can show up in products ranging from lamps and batteries to dental amalgam—dropped by 46 percent overall.)
But while those state laws have prompted impressive reductions in the manufacturing use of mercury, another daunting problem remains: what about the mercury thermostats that are still in use in millions of homes, businesses, schools and other buildings across the U.S.?
That includes, ironically, the thermostat hanging in the Boston office of Clean Water Action, one of the groups behind the new report. The thermostat (which was hung by the building’s owner) works, noted Elizabeth Saunders, Clean Water Action’s environmental health legislative director.

House OKs resolution doubting climate change

The House adopted a sternly worded resolution declaring the body’s deep skepticism over current climate science and called for the federal government to halt carbon dioxide reduction programs.
Rep. Kerry Gibson said that by pursuing cap-and-trade policies, Washington is engaging on a path that could destroy Utah’s way of life.
“I’m afraid of what could happen to our economy, to our rural life, to our agriculture, if such a detrimental policy continues to be pursued for political reasons,” said the Ogden Republican.
He said there is mounting evidence that humans can’t influence their environment and the costs of enacting climate change policies could be staggering.
The House resolution is nonbinding and has no legal impact beyond expressing the sentiment of the Legislature. It passed the body by a 56-17 vote and now goes to the Senate.
The resolution was amended to tone down some of the incendiary language, specifically deleting references to a “climate data conspiracy” and a climate change “gravy train.”
Rep. John Mathis, R-Vernal, said that as strongly as he feels about the resolution, “we should elevate our discussion above where a lot of people have taken it.”
Rep. Mike Noel, R-Kanab, staged a defense of carbon dioxide, saying it is an odorless gas that is “essentially harmless to human beings” that is unrelated to air pollution and can actually encourage plant growth.
House Minority Leader David Litvack, D-Salt Lake City, said he is concerned the resolution goes too far and attacks science, and quoted a letter from several Brigham Young University scientists that argued against the resolution.
Gibson said he respects the BYU scientists. “I also respect the words of the scientists who are mounting on the other side of the issue, who in large part we have not heard,” he said, because their viewpoints have been “hidden.”
Almost daily, we learn about new problems with the formerly respected UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC): In their 2001 report, they claimed that the 20th century was “unusual” and blamed it on human-released greenhouse gases. Their infamous temperature graph shown there, shaped like a hockey stick, did away with the well-established Medieval Warm Period (around 1000AD, when Vikings were able to settle in Southern Greenland and grow crops there) and the following Little Ice Age (around 1400 to 1800AD). Two Canadians exposed the bad data used by the IPCC and the statistical errors in their analysis.
The most recent IPCC report of 2007 predicted the disappearance of the Himalayan glaciers within 25 years; the imminent death of nearly half the Amazon rain forest; and major damage from stronger hurricanes — all in contradiction to expert opinions offered by its appointed reviewers, but ignored by IPCC editors for mostly ideological reasons. More scandalous even, the IPCC based their lurid predictions on anecdotal, non-peer-reviewed sources — not at all in accord with its solemnly announced principles and scientific standards.
These events showed not only a general sloppiness of IPCC procedures but also an extreme bias — quite inappropriate to a supposedly impartial scientific survey. By themselves, they do not invalidate the basic IPCC conclusion — that a warming in the latter half of the 20th century was human-caused, presumably by the rise of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide. Yet all of these missteps pale in comparison to ClimateGate, which calls into question the very temperature data used by the IPCC’s main policy result.
As the leaked e-mails from the University of East Anglia (UK) reveal, this IPCC conclusion — that Global Warming is anthropogenic — is based on manipulated data and therefore flawed — as are demands for the control of CO2 emissions, like the Kyoto Protocol and the Copenhagen Accord. In my opinion, ClimateGate is a much more serious issue than simply sloppiness and ideological distortion; ClimateGate suggests conspiracy to commit fraud.
