To be a Tebow Birther, or not to be a Tebow Birther: that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them?
According to an article on Alan.com, Attorney Gloria Allred Says Tim Tebow’s Mom is telling a lie in the upcoming Super Bowl Ad:
This story[the declined abortion of Tim Tebow], says Allred, is made up.
One… fact [is] that the act of abortion is totally illegal in the majority Catholic country of the Philippines – under all circumstances including rape and incest, and even without a provision in the circumstance that the mother’s life is in danger. The law has been in effect since 1930.
Allred says she believes it an impossible scenario to believe that Philippino[sic] doctors would of ever suggested abortion as a viable option for Tebow in the first place. And when you learn that physicians and midwives who perform abortions in the Philippines face six years in prison, and may have their licenses suspended or revoked, and that women who receive abortions – no matter the reason – may be punished with imprisonment for two to six years, it’s easy to see why.
see the rest of the article here.
Allred wrote a letter to CBS President Les Moonves in a Tebow Birther Tactic to get the Ad blocked. That letter can be found: here.
Ok, so Allred proved she knows how to use Wikipedia which has an article on: Abortions in the Philippines.
Did she stop there? finding a “proof”? …or did she continue her research but omitted other facts?
Such as THIS from:
lifeissues.net | Morbidity and Mortality from Induced Abortion in Selected Foreign Countries
Philippines
Although abortion is illegal in the Philippines, there are reports that it frequently occurs. According to estimates of the Alan Guttmacher Institute, 401,000 abortions occurred in 1994 (possible range: 320,000-481,000) at a rate of 25 per 1000 women aged 15-44. It was estimated at 5.1% of the women were hospitalized for abortion complications.(11)
Despite its illegality, there has been some limited study of abortion in the Philippines. One study interviewed 200 women between February, 1993 and June 1993 who reported with complications of induced abortion at Dr. Fabella Hospital and Philippine General Hospital. Twenty-six percent (26%) were age 24 and below, 27% were age 25-29, 31% were age 30-34, and 16% were age 35 and above. Seventy-three percent (73%) were married, 19% were in union, and 7% were single; 45% were not working and 55% were working. The educational level of the women was 8% primary education, 49% secondary education, and 43% higher education. Eighty-nine percent had at least one child and 30% of the married women had five or more children; thirty-five percent had used contraceptives, 74% said they did not want a child, 13% were undecided if they wanted a child, 12% said they wanted a child after 2 years, and 1% said they wanted a child as soon as possible. Despite having had an abortion, the women generally believed that abortion was not justified. The reasons where postabortion women believed that abortion was justified are described in Table 1.
Table 1 Attitude of Philippine women Toward Abortion
Who Were Treated for Postabortion Complications — 1993Reason for Abortion Percent Who Agreed Abortion
Was Justified in Given SituationPregnancy results from rape 57% Pregnancy Bad for Woman’s Health 10% Woman is Unmarried 4% Woman is in School 4% Man is in School 4% Fetus is Deformed 46% Woman Has No Money But Has Many Children 16% Last Child is Too Young 6% Timing of Pregnancy is Wrong 13% Pregnancy is Result of Incest 71% Pregnancy is Result of Infidelity 16% Some 89% of the women said it was difficult or very difficult to obtain an abortion. Abortions were obtained through a secret referral system involving a network of close friends or relatives. Abortions were performed by doctors and other paramedics, including nurses as well as self-acclaimed abortionists, including traditional healers. Abortions were also self-induced or performed by a close friend of the woman. The methods described to procure the abortion were bitter concoctions; assorted herbal medicines, excessive weight or pressure on the uterus and catheter insertion into the uterus. The average cost of the abortion was $35.

Unbelievable…
Oil drilling in BRAZIL
Obama underwrites off shore oil drilling in BRAZIL ..
This is a perfect example why I refrain from watching the news on ABC, NBC, CBS, or MSNBC.
Today on a segment of the “Glen Beck Show” on FOX (Fox Cable News) was the following:
“Today, even though President Obama is against off shore drilling for our country, he signed an executive order to loan 2 Billion of our taxpayers dollars to a Brazilian Oil Exploration Company (which is the 8th largest company in the entire world) to drill for oil off the coast of Brazil ! The oil that comes from this operation is for the sole purpose and use of China and NOT THE USA ! Now here’s the real clincher…the Chinese government is under contract to purchase all the oil that this oil field will produce, which is hundreds of millions of barrels of oil”.
We have absolutely no gain from this transaction whatsoever!
Wait, it gets more interesting!
Guess who is the largest individual stockholder of this Brazilian Oil Company and who would benefit most from this? It is American BILLIONAIRE, George Soros, who was one of President Obama’s most generous financial supporter during his campaign.
If you are able to connect the dots and follow the money, you are probably as upset as I am. Not a word of this transaction was broadcast on any of the other news networks!
Forward this factual e-mail to others who care about this country and where it is going. Also, let all of your Government representatives know how you feel about this.
Below is the Wall street Journal article to confirm this.

Just found out yesterday my last day of work was yesterday. Just another victim of out sourcing. Some lucky person in India will be doing my job now. Whoooopie! Can’t wait to be an unemployment statistic and start collecting those chump change unemployment checks with taxes taken out of course. Ain’t this a great f*cking country!
The Progressives believe in abortion and Darwinism… Ironic.
Yes VF , It’s old new but most people were not aware of the details.
I swear to God my neighbor and I are 1 fight away from having our story told on the Lifetime Move Network!!!! UGH!!!!
I HATE! looking for work! I would rather pull out my finger nails and toe nails with a pair of pliers than look for a job! It sucks!
Wikipedia?? Didn’t somebody (I won’t mention names) but us on Wikipedia?? Yea a real trustworthy site.
I meant put us on Wikipedia? Remember iCry?
tellit wrote: I HATE! looking for work! I would rather pull out my finger nails and toe nails with a pair of pliers than look for a job! It sucks!
Well what about all those super fantastic stimulus jobs?? I think we had 5 in my area. I believe those 26 cops got laid off.
Maybe I should run for office. yea that’s it. If I win I can become a legitamite corrupt criminal, enrich myself and never worry about seeing the inside of a jail cell. Now that’s the life!

I am so sorry to hear that. I know just how you feel. I’ve been looking since Dec 1st.
Last July I had most people call me back for an interview. I have sent out 2-3 resumes a week and I’ve only had a couple calls to inform me that the job was already taken.
Bell, Icry is a graveyard last time I checked it out. It’s pathetic.

I don’t even bother checking. I think CNN made a huge mistake when they banned us all.

That was for reporting the outrage of the CNN reporter at the tea party.
SamH wrote: I just can’t get up to going to the grocery store and I am smack in there with Belle and Tellit about finding a job. It sucks. How about we start an online business skinning trolls.
Let’s do it! haha
I have to say there are no jobs in my area. I am actually talking about working for a company that is 3 hours away from where I live. I would be able to do my work from home. I just don’t know when this position would become avail. It probably wouldn’t be until late spring.
I got a job… It sucks, but pays well. It’s one that’s a necessity and the government will subsidize it if the company goes bankrupt…
yeah!
I’ve got something to do. I’ll be back soon.
Fox, I’ve always been jealous that you have a job. hahah
If you can get your foot in the door in communications, it won’t get outsourced… unless they teach illegal immigrants how to do it, I guess.
I really want to start an online business. I am tired of working for people that don’t give a shit about me. Most of the online businesses are scams and I am afraid to take a chance on any of them.
DavidW went to far with his outright banning. Zithead ruined Icry.
Tellit – I went to start an online business. Trouble is it is VERY expensive. Unless you can do your own website design, there is that cost plus updates to it. Then You have to pay fees for the site and for the dot com address. Then you have to spend a lot of time by the phone all hours unless you specify hours of operation. It is like having a pet – when you go out of town, you need to hire someone to take care of it.
I’ve always looked at online business as scams. I like walking into an office building but I would love it if it were my office building… lol
DavidW banned anybody that was a Republican or anybody that disagreed with CNN.
ICry lost the best of its talent. Those it did not kick out just got bored by the simplistic assignments and left. The iCriers need better than lame assignments. There are some good ones left. I am not there much anymore because there just isn’t an audience – at least for this old soul.
I never worried about healthcare until I didn’t have a job. I’ve always had healthcare through my company. If people get jobs then they can get healthcare. So I ask, what is more important.. jobs or healthcare? It’s the tail wagging the dog.
I wasn’t bitter when I got banned for NO REASON. With a little help from vf.. lol this was my first post on wordpress.
iReports is as (aka, iBan anybody that doesn’t agree with the anointed one) boring as watching grass grow
They say a picture is worth a thousand words… and the above picture speaks volumes about how boring iReport has become.
Political iReport bans have dulled iReports to death… we may as well be watching grass growing for excitement.
By the way, there are hidden subliminal vicious nasty anti-Obama messages hidden in the grass above …just to spice things up.
The other thing about that grass? It is a secret genetic clone between cannabis sativa and normal fescue which can be grown undetected in the front yard and no one will notice.
With that said… the caterpillars will smile a lot, birds will sing sweeter and you get to keep the yard clippings.
Try not to fall asleep waiting for something exciting to happen at iReport.com.
You are expected to report about your spice rack collection and what you did last weekend.
CNN bans all reports that do not say good things about our CEO of the United States of America… Barack “the anointed one” Obama!! They do this without warning or cause. This is the same irresponsible biased media network that got him elected!! So, how’s that “hope” and “change” working out for you now?? Better not report it on iReport or else you will get banned!! CNN has earned the title COMMUNIST NEWS NETWORK!!!
Now that doesn’t sound bitter at all.
Remember the post I did after VF got banned?? The title was: I Found My Cat. hahaha
The picture said it all. It was a pissed off kitty sitting at a computer with vf’s wordpress address.
Don’t think Rahm Emanuel didn’t have something to do with us all getting banned!!
The Bastard of America!
OBUTTHOLE!
I think that would make a good blog title…
Which one, The Bastard of America or OBUTTHOLE. lol I would read both.
Belle, as they say in the South “You’re a mess, girl.”
You know they’ve taken that youth cult over there to extremes. Jill Dougherty has been with CNN since 1983, majored in Russian Language and was bureau chief over there at one time. Anyway she let her hair go gray and she looked great. Then suddenly this past week I saw her for the first time in a long time and her hair had been tinted. She looked lame but that is CNN – lame game to the world.
I will say this, it is a sad say when you can’t be yourself on some TV program somewhere here in the USA. Perhaps that is what we have to do – start a new news outlet.
Meanwhile it is dark and I still have not made a move toward the door. Tuna for dinner?
The whole thing as a title, Belle. I wonder how many twitter twits I would get on my blog.
I’ve got an idea. The Conservative Blog Network should become a community organization then we could get government funds. We would be taking back what they stole from us. Hell maybe one of us could run for President of the United States.
“Tuna for dinner?”
I’m more a Salmon man… I think I’ll grill some tomorrow.
Foxwood wrote: The whole thing as a title, Belle. I wonder how many twitter twits I would get on my blog.

I am getting the ugliest piece of sheet metal and making my fence 6′ taller. I am going to spray paint the fence to read:
THE COST OF THIS SHEET METAL: …
THE COST OF NEVER HAVING TO DEAL WITH YOU OR YOUR DOGS AGAIN…. PRICELESS!!!
Did I mention that me and my neighbor are just 1 fight away from becomming a lifetime movie??
Did anybody read about Henry Paulsons new book? He goes into detail about Russia and China is behind our recession.
Paulson will donate his author’s profits from the book to the non-profit Homeownership Preservation Foundation, which owns and operates the Homeowner’s HOPE Hotline, 888-995-HOPE, which helps families avoid foreclosure.
Paulson: Russia and China plotted an economic meltdown
President Bush’s Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson, in his new book, “On The Brink,” blames Russia and China for the economic problems of 2008 that led to the Paulson panic, which resulted in the $700 billion TARP bank bailout.
“Russia proposed to China that the two nations should sell Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac bonds in 2008 to force the US government to bail out the giant mortgage-finance companies,” the Financial Times reported, citing Paulson’s book.
“Russian officials had made a top-level approach to the Chinese, suggesting that together they might sell big chunks of their GSE holdings to force the US to use its emergency authorities to prop up these companies,” Paulson wrote.
A GSE is a government-sponsored enterprise.
“The Chinese had declined to go along with the disruptive scheme, but the report was deeply troubling,” he said.
But Bloomberg News reported that Dmitry Peskov, Vladimir Putin’s spokesman, denied that Russia approached China about dumping the bonds.
“This is not the case,” he said by phone.
CYA by Paulson? That beats the more frightening alternative of it being true.

“Tuna pizza??? GOD NO!!”
What’s the difference in that and anchovy pizza?
I’ve always wanted to try and anchovy, jalapeno, and pineapple pizza…
I have a picture on my blog that is funny as hell. It’s Obama telling Tiger that he’s screwed more people than him.

Hello VF!
This is from Barnes & Noble. I am going to order it.. I can’t help myself. I want to read how Russia and China plotted our economic meltdown.
Synopsis
When Hank Paulson, the former CEO of Goldman Sachs, was appointed in 2006 to become the nation’s next Secretary of the Treasury, he knew that his move from Wall Street to Washington would be daunting and challenging.
But Paulson had no idea that a year later, he would find himself at the very epicenter of the world’s most cataclysmic financial crisis since the Great Depression. Major institutions including Bear Stearns, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Lehman Brothers, AIG, Merrill Lynch, and Citigroup, among others-all steeped in rich, longstanding tradition-literally teetered at the edge of collapse. Panic ensnared international markets. Worst of all, the credit crisis spread to all parts of the U.S. economy and grew more ominous with each passing day, destroying jobs across America and undermining the financial security millions of families had spent their lifetimes building.
This was truly a once-in-a-lifetime economic nightmare. Events no one had thought possible were happening in quick succession, and people all over the globe were terrified that the continuing downward spiral would bring unprecedented chaos. All eyes turned to the United States Treasury Secretary to avert the disaster.
This, then, is Hank Paulson’s first-person account. From the man who was in the very middle of this perfect economic storm, ON THE BRINK is Paulson’s fast-paced retelling of the key decisions that had to be made with lightning speed. Paulson puts the reader in the room for all the intense moments as he addressed urgent market conditions, weighed critical decisions, and debated policy and economic considerations with of all the notable players-including the CEOs of top WallStreet firms as well as Ben Bernanke, Timothy Geithner, Sheila Bair, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain, and then-President George W. Bush.
More than an account about numbers and credit risks gone bad, ON THE BRINK is an extraordinary story about people and politics-all brought together during the world’s impending financial Armageddon.

I WAS JUST KIDDING! 🙂
Geeze, wish I had some fond memories of the iCry days. It was just me and Sinthesize (sp) and Rose and a couple of others against the storm. The funniest thing I remember was when the model with the big lips – I can’t – oh Arena – or something like that decided she had had it and that she would leave. She did that a number of times. The final time I knew about, she came back with a post that featured a picture of her sliding head first down onto a sofa or something as if she just was slipped through your mail chute.

Myself, I’d run away from an office.
Get this. I have avoided going outside into the cold to get to the grocery store for 3 days now. I had run out of food. Tonight, I had my boarder from Ghana pick up a couple of dinners from Appleby’s for me since he was headed there anyway. Now that is lame. It is also expensive for one out of work. I tell you I just can’t take the cold anymore.

The best memory I had was telling everybody to look for God… hahha. I swear to the almighty that I never went back after I got banned. I just loved to tell everybody that I was fishing and to look for God. hahhahahahahha. They were banning people left and right looking for us. They weren’t even us that was getting banned!!! hahah
Yea that little dog she gave away then cried over it – had fights with the people that took it and then recovered it. It was some kind of Chihuahua that she used to dress up and photograph at odd angles.
I had to call out the cops for Harvey50. He would not give up on bashing me. Isn’t he the one with an avatar of his big face coming up over a table or something with his eyes popping?

At one point I was back in there with 7 different identities and baited everyone to think one of their own was actually a former banned person.
It was fun, and as each of my personalities was banned I activated another. Kinda like Cybal.
You might think about it… Look what it did for Scott Brown…
They were banning people left and right looking for us. They weren’t even us that was getting banned!!! hahah
That is a riot, Belle and so true. I used to laugh my head off at posts where the poster was guessing who was there making trouble. There was one professional Troll – can’t remember her name – but she was on in all manner of guises. I nailed her once. It was so funny. She would sit on someone’s post and tell them how she worked for a hospital in Boston and could take down their computer anytime; that she knew how to track anyone on a computer; how to keep her computer/location hidden. Listening to her was like tuning in on the Doctor Doom Show.

It’s fun as hell to see the moonbats turn on each other. It’s an all out he said she said slap fest! I LOVED IT!!
I think we should consider turning The Conservative Blog Network into a community organization!! We’ll apply for government funds.
I’d pose nude, but it would have a negative effect for my run for office… I would say, Tellit, admit to everything you’ve ever done. If I were to run, that’s the first thing I would do. Don’t give anyone anything to hang on you…
Well Harvey, GV, MartinT, Davidjw and most of the other Obama lovers got banned too so you have to admit davidw was not only banning the conservatives.
We could pay for Tellits run, Belle!
Belle and VF – too much
And fox to tellit – have you evah posed nude?

I personally would like to see the sister blog opened up to the libs on a first come basis.
They can stay and debate until we claim the scalp and then cut em loose. ( no pun intended)
Ok… I have to admit… I wore my girlfriends underwear playing Rocky at the Rocky Horror Picture show… I didn’t have any gold undies… What can I say?
Hey, speaking of the old dark days, I googled my name on iCry and up came some part of a conversation on another blog where someone said something like “well they can’t stand her on the VF blog.”
Love it. You can see that I’m into self destruction and may possibly light a match to the toilet paper next time I’m in the bathroom.
I am proud to say I personally took down MartinT and voiceofgod. I think I got mech126 also but not sure on that one.

I will post a nude photo here providing I can use photoshop.

HAHAHAHA I MUST HAVE MISSED THIS!!
I’ll just request copies of the scanner at the airport next time I board a plan. I’ll be sure to post it.
OK all the men on the blog can retain their annonymity they just have to e-mail nude, headless photos to VF who will paper the conference room with them. Got it? We will call the project – Nudes for Nobama.
I meant board a plane. Typing too fast.
hahahahaha!! Nudes for Nobama?? I love it!!
Belle – they said that BEFORE I got on the blog and I still got on. I was so scared my tail quivered.
OH GOD! What have I started…
tellit wrote: Don’t think I would want to pose nude now until I get rid of my 30 lb beer belly. lol
I’ve got the best ab table that will get rid of that in 1 week!
It is too cold to even think of nudity. I tell you I wear layers and layers of makeup when I’m nude in winter to keep me warm and to make me look good. It takes a long time to put it on over my entire body but hey, the end result is fabulous.
I heard on Hannity even the Obama girl thinks he sucks now.
If I am going to be your campaign manager then I have to worry about things like that. hahaha
It was so funny. Obama girl said she was scared of Hannity. Hannity replied, “Oh great, you’ve got a crush on Obama and you are afraid of me.”

Naa.. Life is too short to give up the things you love. You just need to add at least a half an hour a day into working out. I’ve been doing about an hour and a half since I’ve been laid off. It really helps keep my blood pressure down.
How well I remember the blubbering at the whinetable… biggest bunch of cry babies I ever saw in one place.
remember the iReport I did about the moment Obama found out Sarah Palin was announced as the VP running mate?

Do you thing people watching this blog want to hear the confessions of a Conservative Fool Acholic?
The comments remind me of how much I couldn’t stand 444.

I tell you Belle, this is like a high school reunion! Couldn’t stand 444?
I couldn’t stand that “witch” who made about 20 short posts a day and then made her own comment on each one of them to boost her stats. And all she ever said on everyone else’s post was “thanks so much” and then would rush to the next post aimlessly gathering super star points.

Nite SamH!
What really pissed me off was when Timmy Geithner tried to say they inherited this mess… REALLY?? How rich it is to hear the President & CEO of the New York Fed from 2003-2009 say he inherited anything. It’s more like we inherited more of the same old bull crap that got us into this mess.

Here comes a second American Financial MELTDOWN
Yes it sure appears to be coming based on the fact that the Obama Administration and this current (soon to change) Congress has done absolutely nothing to determine exactly what caused the first melt down of our financial systems.
All the eloquent speeches in the world from the anointed one is not going to improve our economy nor is it in any way shape or form creating jobs. We now have a President that is so full of himself that America may very well suffer another financial setback that all the kings men and all the kings czars cannot put back together again.
The good news is that America is waking up and come November we have a chance to put real American Patriots in the seats now filled with Corrupted and stagnant career politicians who have forgotten the Power of We the People. These are people who have become absolutely Corrupted and morally challenged in their day to day lives.
We the People have vowed to take back our Country from these so called Progressive Socialists who have no place here in our Republic. We will not as a Free People ever surrender to Socialism, Marxism, nor Communism and the sooner the Elitists get that through their thick skulls the better off and safer this world will be.
Mr. President do not underestimate what the American People will fight for. If you do, you will find yourself on the losing side of history. Americans are now busy resetting the course of American History and yes we are even going to correct our school books so that we have an accurate documentation of American History and not some super altered Progressive evolution of our minds. The truth is out there now and Americans are flocking to it in record numbers to reinforce our resolve to end once and for all the Progressive Movement in the United States of America.
We are united like never before and we will not go silently into the night Mr. President. Only a fool would say in his heart that their is no God and We the People are on the right side of God and his plans for America. He is the Light of the World and We the People reflect His light to a dying world.

Watchdog: Bank Bailouts Created More Risk in System
The problems that led to the last financial crisis have not yet been addressed, and in some cases have grown worse, says Neil Barofsky, the special inspector general for the trouble asset relief program, or TARP. The quarterly report to Congress was released Sunday.
The government’s bailout of financial institutions deemed “too big to fail” has created a risk that the United States could face a worse fiscal meltdown in the future, an independent watchdog assigned to review the program told Congress on Sunday.
The Troubled Assets Relief Program, known as TARP, has not addressed the problems that led to the last crisis and in some case those problems have festered and are a bigger threat than before, warned Neil Barofsky, the special inspector general at the Treasury Department.
“Even if TARP saved our financial system from driving off a cliff back in 2008, absent meaningful reform, we are still driving on the same winding mountain road, but this time in a faster car,” Barofsky wrote.
Barofsky wrote the $700 billion financial bailout has encouraged more risk-taking because bank executives, who are still receiving massive bonuses, figure the government will come to the rescue the next time they steer their ships nearly aground.
“The market mentality now seems fixed that the U.S. government will continue to step in and bail out giant financial institutions,” said Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, ranking member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. “The IG’s findings confirm my decision to oppose releasing $350 billion in TARP funds last year and my recent vote to terminate the program altogether.”
“The SIGTARP’s report is just another reminder of how Congress and the administration have ignored the role that politics and government played in causing the housing crisis and the economic collapse while pursing other regulatory reforms will not fix the underlying problem,” said Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., the ranking member on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
The inspector general’s report details stonewalling by the Treasury Department over a recommendation that walls be built between managers of the public-private investment program, which uses taxpayer cash to buy bad assets, and employees of the fund management companies which sell the toxic assets.
Barofsky’s report outlined 77 cases of possible criminal and civil fraud, including crimes of tax evasion, insider trading, mortgage lending and payment collection, false statements and public corruption.
One case concerns apparent self-dealing by one of the private fund managers Treasury picked to buy bad assets from banks at discounted prices. A portfolio manager at the firm apparently sold a bond out of a private fund, then repurchased it at a higher price for a government-backed fund.
A rating agency had just downgraded the bond, so it likely was worth less, not more, when the government fund bought it. The company is not being named pending the outcome of Barofsky’s investigation.
Treasury said it welcomed Barofsky’s oversight but resisted the call to erect new barriers against conflicts of interest. The new rules “would be detrimental to the program,” Treasury spokeswoman Meg Reilly said in a statement. The existing compliance rules “are a rigorous and effective method of protecting taxpayers,” she said.
“As the report says, ‘for various reasons, Treasury has decided that requiring such walls ‘is simply not practical in the context of PPIP,’ and has refused to adopt this recommendation. It is disappointing but not unsurprising that the Treasury Department under the leadership of Secretary (Tim) Geithner is once again stonewalling transparency,” Issa said.
“Frankly, just because it may be inconvenient is not a good enough excuse to justify leaving taxpayer dollars vulnerable to manipulation and fraud,” he continued.
Much of Barofsky’s report focused on the government’s growing role in the housing market, which he said has increased the risk of another housing bubble.
Over the past year, the federal government has spent hundreds of billions propping up the housing market. About 90 percent of home loans are backed by government controlled entities, mainly Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the Federal Housing Administration.
The Federal Reserve is spending $1.25 trillion to hold down mortgage rates, and millions of homeowners have refinanced at lower rates.
“The government has stepped in where the private players have gone away,” Barofsky said in an interview. “If we take government resources and replace that market without addressing the serious (underlying) concerns, there really is a risk of” artificially pushing up home prices in the coming years.
The report warned that these supports mean the government “has done more than simply support the mortgage market, in many ways it has become the mortgage market, with the taxpayer shouldering the risk that had once been borne by the private investor.”
Barofsky’s report echoed concerns raised by housing experts in recent months, as home sales and prices rebounded. They warn that the primary reason for the turnaround last year has been billions of dollars in federal spending to lower mortgage rates and prop up demand.
Once that spigot of cash is turned off, they caution, the market will be vulnerable to a dramatic turn for the worse. Daniel Alpert, managing partner of investment bank Westwood Capital, wrote in a report that national home prices are bound to fall 8 to 10 percent below the lows of last spring.
“The lion’s share of the remaining decline will occur in markets that saw sizable bubbles but have not yet retrenched,” he wrote.
Officials from the Obama administration counter that massive federal intervention has helped the housing market stabilize and prevented more dire consequences.
Barofsky’s report also disclosed that, while the Obama administration has pledged to spend $75 billion to prevent foreclosures, only a tiny fraction — just over $15 million — has been spent so far. Under the Making Home Affordable program, only about 66,500 borrowers, or 7 percent of those who signed up, had completed the process as of December.
He said the key to preventing future crises is to reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, create and improve loan underwriting and supervision of banks. He stopped short of endorsing specific proposals for overhauling financial regulation, but said many of the proposals would go far to improving the system.

saw some great flicks at the film fest, but got gypped because we were sent to the overflow theater for the main film and then moved to the main theater for the short “Dive”. Somehow, in the shuffle, we never saw the Spam film. I gave them “feedback” about that and the organizer gave me a dvd of the spam flick. He said I had to promise to destroy it after i viewed it. I said “no way” We had just seen the dumpster diving film and I couldn’t do something so wasteful. haha I promised to send it back to him and he reluctantly gave me a copy. VF, excellent point about illegal abortions. Wherever abortion is illegal, there are backroom abortions being performed every day. Tebow’s mom very likely did have options, although I’m not sure that the backroom abortion was a very comforting one.
I am pissed off that we have to remind and reteach those who have forgotten or ignored the real costs of the nuclear power industry. It is neither clean, safe or cheap. How much more research will it take for Obama to say “Nevermind”
Nevermore! arghhhh.
Leaks imperil nuclear industry
Vermont Yankee among troubled
By Beth Daley
Globe Staff / January 31, 2010
VERNON, Vt. – The nuclear industry, once an environmental pariah, is recasting itself as green as it attempts to extend the life of many power plants and build new ones. But a leak of radioactive water at Vermont Yankee, along with similar incidents at more than 20 other US nuclear plants in recent years, has kindled doubts about the reliability, durability, and maintenance of the nation’s aging nuclear installations.

Brown: No To Federal Funding, Yes to Abortion Rights
Sen.-elect Scott Brown gives early demonstration that he will not be rank-and-file Republican.
WASHINGTON — Republican Sen.-elect Scott Brown of Massachusetts said he opposes federal funding for abortions, but thinks women should have the right to choose whether to have one.
Brown told ABC’s “This Week” that he disagrees with his party’s position that the Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion should be overturned.
Brown said the abortion question is one that’s best handled by a woman, her family and her doctor. He also said more effort needs to go into reducing the number of abortions in the U.S.
Brown has said the GOP shouldn’t take his vote for granted on every issue. He said he’s fiscally conservative but more moderate on social issues.
Brown recently won the Senate seat long held by liberal Democrat Edward M. Kennedy, who died last summer.

Hello everybody.
Quick question… Does New York oppose capital punishment?? Would capital punishment apply to the terrorist if they were tried in New York?
belle, I used to live in new york. back then when we were bad they put us in stocks. If we were really bad they left us there for days until death by heat exhaustion or hypothermia. nowadays I am really not sure. I saw a website that said that new york does have the death penalty but hasn’t executed anyone since 1976 but I don’t know if that site is up to date with info.
Death is almost too good for those guys. But Gibbs said today they will face the death penalty.
and belle? I asked earlier about your neighbor troubles. I noticed your comments, even if noone else did….I had some suggestions for your fence. haha
I am asking this question because I am working on my new post. I do not think we should even have a trial for the 9/11 terrorist. We know they’re quilty so we should just proceed with justice and have them executed. I’ll never understand why we have to waste our money to convict these thugs! I know that Obama & Co will have their trials no matter what we say or do. With that being said, should the terrorist get to pick the way they are executed? I think lethal injection is far too civilized for what these thugs did. I was thinking more on the line of a crucifixion. They claim to have done what they did in the name of Allah so we will give them a dose of our god. I think there is something symbolic to the punishment. Any thoughts?
Hello Rose!
New York has not executed anybody since 1976. I don’t want the terrorist to be tried anywhere that they will be able to pick their type of execution or worse I don’t want them tried anywhere that opposes capital punishment.

I would love to hear your suggestions. As I said before, we are one fight away from our story being told on Lifetime Movie Network.
belle, you should consider one of those court shows like Judge Judy. You might have a case that her viewer would love. bring your hubby along and have him dress in his wrestling gear. haha and of course bring the pooch.
and I think the sheet metal fence with threatening messages is an excellent way to get your neighbors to understand that you are not playing around.
I went out yesterday with a bat in my hand. Now who in the heck suggested the bat?? There is just not enough distance between the jaws of death and my arm. I ended up hitting the fence and the monster got the idea. My neighbor didn’t like the idea that I SCARED THEIR DOG.. I couldn’t believe it!! I unleashed all the anger I’ve been building up over the past 2 YEARS of dealing with their monster. I am just so tired of dealing with them. We have even thought about moving. I’ve done everything BY LAW I can do yet they have done nothing. I still worry everytime I let the dogs out. I have to be outside with them every single time they have to go out. I am just FED UP!! 2 years, $2,000.00 later and I have nothing to show for it.

hahaha. I’ve considered a civil suit but they’ve already informed me that they would not be showing up.

I think this is the best way to get my message out. I know if won’t look good but all the other neighbors support anything we decide to do. Remember I am not the only person that has been bit by their dog. The President of our association said his hands are tied but agreed something had to be done. I’m worried they’d just tear it down… I guess I will just keep putting it back up. This whole mess is getting out of control. Again, 1 fight away from a movie deal. lol
belle, i think the bat was VF’s idea. you should direct their attorney’s to her. hee!
but seriously, I see nothing wrong with scaring the beast with a bat. As long as you don’t do physical damage you should be okay i would think. of course I am not authorized to give legal advice.
Rosehips wrote: belle, i think the bat was VF’s idea. you should direct their attorney’s to her. hee!
hahah. I have to admit that I haven’t seen their dogs since our fight. Maybe they moved… HAHAHAHA!! GOD I AM NOT THAT LUCKY!
Have you noticed it is taking so long to comment and refresh? Is it just my computer?
Here kitty kitty kitty…. here kitty kitty kitty… we need to clear some comments.
belle, I’d repost the cat and rabbit vid but it will slow you down even more. It’s tolerable on my end.
actually it’s pretty fast.
Rose, some of my comments aren’t appearing… hmmm.
I think I am going to call it a night. I will be back on tomorrow morning. I hope to talk to you then.
Thanks for the conversation. It’s been great having a one on one. All that was missing was our kitty. lol
Nite. Nite.
haven’t seen the cat all day. but I expect she’ll be back…
g’nite belle. I hope that you are able to keep your property secure from the vicious neighbor dog. that is horrifying, really. I’ve had neighbor dogs come right into my house and they were mastiff/rotweiler types. Just a couple three weekes ago a dog came through a panel on my porch. broke glass and everything.
Some of the neighbor dogs do scare me but luckily we’ve never been bitten. Of course, we don’t have a dog though.
…and the wind cried back…
thank you…
I just had to hit refresh one last time before I log off.

That’s terrible!! I hope the neighbor paid for the damage. If they are anything like my then they probably didn’t.
I think we are going to have our new fence (just under 2 years old) torn down and have a 6′-8′ fence put up. I know our association will have a problem with it but nobody can provide any other solutions. I hate to add more money to the problem but I can’t think of anything else to do.
Thanks for the advice. I’ll be back in the morning.
Nite.

Men In Black star Rip Torn, 78, arrested after allegedly breaking into bank while armed
Feb 1 2010 By Craig McDonald
ACTOR Rip Torn has been charged with breaking into a bank while drunk and armed with a loaded gun.
The 78-year-old Dodgeball star was caught at the Litchfield Bankcorp building close to his home in Salisbury, Connecticut, on Friday night.
A state police spokesman said: “Troopers were dispatched to the scene and upon their arrival they observed a broken window at the rear of the building.
“Observed inside the bank was a lone white male walking within the premise.
“Troopers took him into custody. He had a loaded revolver.”
Torn – real name Elmore Torn – was charged with burglary, criminal mischief, carrying a firearm while intoxicated, trespass and possession of a firearm without a permit.
The Emmy winner and former Oscar nominee, who recently starred in TV comedy 30 Rock, was held on £62,500 bail.
He is no stranger to alcohol-related arrests. He was arrested by Salisbury cops in 2008 for drink-driving after being spotted driving his 1994 Subaru – with a Christmas tree strapped to the top – on the hard shoulder.
It was his third drink-driving arrest in five years.
Texas-BORN Torn’s career stretches back to the 1950s.
He caught attention as blackmailer Slade opposite Steve McQueen in The Cincinnati Kid in 1965.
The 1970s brought him parts in The Man Who Fell To Earth and Coma. And he was nominated for a best supporting actor Oscar for Cross Creek in 1983.
He played Agent Z in both Men In Black movies and won an Emmy in The Larry Sanders Show.
Hmmmm…. My copy and paste failed me…
that right was earned for us… by the blood and treasure of Americans preceding us on these shores… and to us, the flag was passed to protect and preserve these most precious gifts.
This country is unique in all the world and it has been thus since 1776.

For the life of me I really don’t understand what in Heaven’s name is going on here. When I first encountered it at Ace of Spades I thought they were pulling my chain. But the AP cut line makes clear what is going on:
U.S. President Barack Obama bows to Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio at MacDill Air Force Base on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010 in Tampa, Fla.
The mayor of Tampa isn’t a Third World potentate, totalitarian dictator, or terrorist leader so I can’t understand why Obama would be in full-bow mode. Is bowing now the standard way the President greets people these days? Is he misoriented, for some reason, and thinks Tampa is a terrorist stronghold or an enemy of the United States? Does the US owe Tampa a boatload of money and the bow just good business practice?
Perhaps Foxwood Bowing is a Muslin kinda thang and Obama wants the world to know where he stands. Or, He suffers from random gas pains.
Either way when everyone else says heads up he says arse up.
If he has gas, maybe the heads up is his arse up!
Foreclosures new hot spots
The new foreclosure plague is tied more to the economy than bad mortgages. Here are 10 cities where defaults grew the fastest in 2009.
Percent increase from 2008: 103%
National rank: 24th
Unemployment rate: 10.1%
Boise’s population has more than doubled since 1980, and its economy has diversified over the past half century. Tech industries have come into the mix, and Micron Technology is now the city’s largest employer.
As in many Western cities, the real estate market here was quite volatile during the boom. The median home price jumped from about $150,000 during 2003 to $260,000 at its peak in 2006, according to the Wells Fargo-National Association of Home Builders housing opportunity index. Since then prices have dropped more than 32%.
Christine Loucks, an economics professor for Boise State University, attributes the foreclosure runup in town to two main causes: A small speculative bubble that has burst and the economic slowdown.
“With the rapid population increase, there was strong demand for housing,” she said, “and that led to buying for speculation.”
When prices started to slow down, the speculators pulled out, driving prices down further and trapping some buyers underwater. Many flippers were caught in the downswing and lost their homes.
Job losses also began to mount. Micron laid off 1,500 to 2,000 workers, HP slowed some of its operations, and the financial and construction industry employers also cut jobs.
“Residential construction just stopped,” said Loucks.
Add it all up and Boise went through a similar — though less severe — cycle as frothier markets in California, Nevada, Florida and Arizona.

I think we can expect to see Foreclosures skyrocket as people run out of unemployment benefits.
People running out of unemployment benefits is not something the Obama administration wants to talk about.
Will the Dow Jones drop below 10,000 today?

FROM THE UN WEBSITE ON ABORTION LAWS IN THE PHILIPPINES (http://www.un.org/esa/population/publications/abortion/doc/philippines.doc)
Grounds on which abortion is permitted:
To save the life of the woman YES
And then in the Background Section, it further states, and I quote,
“Although the Penal Code does not list specific exceptions to the general prohibition on abortion, under the general criminal law principles of necessity as set forth in article 11(4) of the Code, an abortion MAY be LEGALLY performed to SAVE THE PREGNANT WOMAN’S LIFE.
In addition to these provisions, the Constitution of 1987 provides that the State ‘shall EQUALLY protect the LIFE of the MOTHER and the life of the unborn from conception.'”
