Obama kills Aries Rocket to instead pay Russia for NASA orbit access; Russia unveils 5th Gen T-50 Stealth Fighter; Who’s side is Obama on?

If there were ever a case to never elect a liberal as president, the F-22 Raptor/Aries Rocket killing move by Obama is it.

In the news today… Russia, America’s Cold War Arch Enemy, unveiled their clone of the F-22 Raptor…the Sukhoi T-50 Fifth Generation Stealth Fighter.

Fifth Generation Russian T-50 Stealth Fighter

Fifth Generation US F-22 Stealth Fighter

In other news… Obama’s new budget kills the Aries Rocket replacement for the soon to be retired NASA Space Shuttle… and along with it the Manned Moon Mission project. Both of these endeavors are funded under the umbrella Constellation Program.

Instead of being grounded with no orbital space vehicle, Obama intends to pay Russia with US Dollars for rides into space.

Gee… that should come in handy for the Russian Government as a way to pay production costs for the T-50 Stealth Fighter program.

Way to F’ing go Obama
you miserable dirtbag

The Russians will weaponize space now as we will have no effect way to go up there and stop them.
We will further be at their mercy in getting our “Top Secret Payloads” lifted to space Secretly.
The Russian Stealth Fighter has a much greater range than our F22 Raptor. Hmmmm? Wonder what for? Hmmmmmmmm?

I see a pattern here for the future Surrender of the United States to a vastly Superior Russian Military. Perhaps this is all a part of the Obama Plan for a power seat in the New World Order!

    Think about it.

They most likely never thought that an American President would be the one to make America vulnerable.

  10. ohiobelle says:

I respect Obama for taking questions from the Republicans however I don’t think he is really answering the hard questions. He’s leaving me with more questions than he is answering. Anybody else feel this way?

  11. samhenry says:

Belle, I’m Queasy with Questions. But he will not have time for answers. They cover all his many initiatives.

Sadly, the American public generally does not follow these issues as we do.

  12. ohiobelle says:

    Hello SamH.

I was impressed with the hard questions that he was being asked. His answers to those hard questions were more of the blame game. He never answered the questions. That’s what I just don’t like about Obama.

  13. ohiobelle says:

Well that is not the only thing I don’t like about Obama.

  14. ohiobelle says:

I wonder how much the US had to give Russia for this arms control treaty. Did Russia give anything to the US?? I guess we’ll have to wait until the Nuclear Security Summit this spring. I just have a very hard time trusting Russia.

  15. samhenry says:

He personalizes all of these issues and so becomes a lightening rod. He is a negative not a positive force and the anger at him builds. He thinks he knows it all and that we and the Supreme Court need a few teachable moments.

  16. ohiobelle says:

    SamH, Well said.

I get tired of all the lies on both sides. It’s so friggen hard to tell who is lying?? When both sides say the other is lying then how are we ever going to find out the truth. This is why I get so ticked off. Who is lying? I honestly don’t know anymore.

  17. ohiobelle says:

I know this is going to sound off track but I don’t want the US ever neg. with Russia. I don’t like it and I don’t trust them. I fear alot of the money being donated to help the victims in Haiti is going to the Russians. I would like to see what the money is being spent on. I don’t see any results from all the money being donated. It’s starting to look a lot like New Orleans. Where did all that money go?? Anyone? Anyone?

  20. samhenry says:

We cannot trust Russia – you are correct – any more than we can trust that their mafia isn’t implicated in keeping funds from Haiti LOL.

The “Soviets” are a ruthless bunch. Russia is like Cuba. The intelligentsia left the country or was killed. We are left with the tough descendants of the bloody Bolsheviks.

  21. ohiobelle says:

Fox, I agree that Obama dodged the hard questions. To be honest, Hillary probably would’ve been worse. She admits to being a Progressive. Where do you think this healthcare bill came from?

Belle – just a flyby – I understand your upset. I felt the same way reading about what the Mexicans who have webspots about their native american ancestry said about us.

The guys on the communist website are misinformed. Here is a part of an an article from The Times Online:

More sensible voices point to the procession of despots who have plundered Haiti over the years, depriving it of an effective infrastructure and rendering it uniquely vulnerable to natural disaster. But for many Haitians, the fault lies earlier — with Haiti’s colonial experience, the slavers and extortionists of empire who crippled it with debt and permanently stunted the economy. The fault line runs back 200 years, directly to France.

In the 18th century, Haiti was France’s imperial jewel, the Pearl of the Caribbean, the largest sugar exporter in the world. Even by colonial standards, the treatment of slaves working the Haitian plantations was truly vile. They died so fast that, at times, France was importing 50,000 slaves a year to keep up the numbers and the profits.

Inspired by the principles of the French Revolution, in 1791 the slaves rebelled under the leadership of the self-educated slave Toussaint L’Ouverture. After a vicious war, Napoleon’s forces were defeated. Haiti declared independence in 1804.

China to Suspend U.S. Military Exchanges Over Arms Deal

BEIJING — China suspended military exchange visits with the United States on Saturday in protest over $6.4 billion in planned U.S. arms sales to Taiwan and warned the U.S. ambassador that the sales would harm already strained ties.

  69. samiam60 says:

The state-run Xinhua News Agency cited the Defense Ministry as saying the suspension is due to the “bad impact” of the arms sales on the two countries’ military relations.

China took a similar step in 2008 after the former Bush administration announced a multibillion-dollar arms sale to Taiwan. The latest arms sales could complicate the cooperation the U.S. seeks on issues ranging from Iran’s nuclear program to the loosening of Internet controls, including a Google-China standoff over censorship.

Details of arms sale were posted Friday on a Pentagon Web site. It would include 60 UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters, 114 Patriot Advanced Capability-3 missiles, mine-hunting ships and information technology. U.S. lawmakers have 30 days to comment on the proposed sale. Without objections, it would proceed.

Taiwan is the most sensitive issue in U.S.-China relations. China claims the self-governing island as its own, while the United States is Taiwan’s most important ally and largest arms supplier.

Though Taiwan’s ties with China have warmed considerably since Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou took office 20 months ago, Beijing has threatened to invade if the island ever formalizes its de facto independence.

Both the U.S. and China have previously said they want to improve military ties, which have been frosty.

Earlier Saturday, Vice Foreign Minister He Yafei warned U.S. Ambassador Jon Huntsman that the sale would “cause consequences that both sides are unwilling to see.” The vice minister urged that the sale be immediately canceled, it said.

The U.S. is “obstinately making the wrong decision,” China’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

A spokeswoman for the U.S. Embassy, Susan Stevenson, confirmed that China expressed its views, and said the embassy had no comment on the suspension of military visits.

Jin Canrong, a professor of international studies at China’s Renmin University, said the sale would give Beijing a “fair and proper reason” to accelerate weapons testing.

Beijing has test-fired rockets in recent weeks for an anti-missile defense system in what security experts said was a display of anger at the pending arms sale.

Upcoming high-level visits that could be affected by the China’s suspension of military exchanges. Gen. Chen Bingde, the Chinese military’s chief of the general staff, was due to visit the U.S., while U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Admiral Michael Mullen, Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, had planned to come to China.

Legal Insurrection is an extremely influential and very widely read political blog and was very instrumental in raising Scott Brown from a 30 points behind unknown to victory in Massachusetts. Legal Insurrection and I (with help from Michelle Malkin promoting our blogposts on her blog) and a quickly growing number of other blogs worked very hard on behalf of Brown.

I had not gotten on board in the Massachusetts Special Election until Legal Insurrection goaded pollsters like Scott Rasmussen of Rasmussen Reports to do a Massachusetts poll to see how Scott Brown was fairing.

Until that happened I was not blogging about Scott Brown. Martha Coakley was totally asleep at the wheel and took a vacation during the campaign when Legal Insurrection lead the way in the conservative blogosphere to get attention towards Scott Brown.

Many of my Scott Brown blogposts went viral and frankly it shocked me.

the Foxfire Browser has a Java spell checker built in and is one of the reasons I use Foxfire. The MS Internet Explorer does not yet have that spell checking feature. Perhaps it will someday.

It underlines in red, words it detects as misspelled but sometimes it fails to function. Right mouse clicking the red underlined word reveals a list of suggested correct spelled replacements to choose from to correct the spelling problem.

When I upgraded Foxfire to version 3.6 and updated Java this week, the built in spell checker problems seem to be greatly improved.

I have been burned by typos in the blogpost title (which is not checked by a spell checker) in the past and now compose the title first in the body of the blogpost so it can be spell checked then cut/paste it into the Title area.

    morning peeps!

I just read this guest column in my local rag that I found very thought provoking. The writer was reflecting on the funeral of a beloved community member and friend to many. I won’t post the whole column but here’s an excerpt that I found compelling and I guess I strongly identify with her sentiments:

    For truth-seeker, faith not enough
Marylyn Cork Special to The Spokesman-Review

“…Human existence can come to seem like a bad joke, at least to those of us who are introspective by nature. Why must human beings suffer so much in the process of living their alotted life spans, struggling to mature and accumulate knowledge and wisdom?

Poof! Just like that, it’s gone, no trace left. It seems like such a waste.

Art was blessed. He loved Jesus and believed he would be going “home” to a better place where his loved ones would join him one day. I don’t suppose he agonized over his losses.

I envy him, because I’m a realist. Life ever after, especially one that promises no more sorrow or pain, sounds like a grand myth. Too, the Bible paints heaven in terms that don’t really appeal to me. Nature and books are my loves, not golden streets and fine houses.

In my lifetime, I’ve read much that has been written by proponents of both sides of the issue, and I remain firmly astraddle the metaphorical fence. Don’t promise me a rose garden if there isn’t going to be one; it’s certainty I desire.

As the Bible puts it, believing comes by faith and faith by the word of God. Where does that leave a truth-seeker in the face of a mountain of modern biblical scholarship that indicates God’s holy book is neither inerrant nor infallible?

I haven’t yet found the answer. I keep on looking.”

foxy, I tried to sign up at that site, but alas it was too late. I’m sure you’ll get a lot out of it. Are you saying anything or just listening?

  117. samiam60 says:

I’ll take the bait today Rosie,

Much of life may seem uncertain, but look at what we can count on day after day: gravity remains consistent, a hot cup of coffee left on a counter will get cold, the earth rotates in the same 24 hours, and the speed of light doesn’t change — on earth or in galaxies far from us.

How is it that we can identify laws of nature that never change? Why is the universe so orderly, so reliable?

“The greatest scientists have been struck by how strange this is. There is no logical necessity for a universe that obeys rules, let alone one that abides by the rules of mathematics. This astonishment springs from the recognition that the universe doesn’t have to behave this way. It is easy to imagine a universe in which conditions change unpredictably from instant to instant, or even a universe in which things pop in and out of existence.”11

Richard Feynman, a Nobel Prize winner for quantum electrodynamics, said, “Why nature is mathematical is a mystery…The fact that there are rules at all is a kind of miracle.”

  118. rosehips says:

sh, I will try not to dwell on death today. We are going to the Spokane Int’l Film Festival and we will be viewing 3 films. One follows four high school football players through their journey toward manhood, one is about dumpster diving in LA and the millions of dollars worth of food that grocery stores intentionally waste each year, and a third is a film mystery centering around a stolen can of Spam. haha this should be fun!
I am also going to attend a film forum featuring some of the filmmakers.

I won’t be on much today. I have a short while before we must go to make it for the 12:00 start.

  119. Foxwood says:

Pope urges followers to spread the gospel
    Associated Press The Spokesman-Review Print

Pope Benedict XVI is condemning what he called “growing aversion” to the Christian faith in the world.

Benedict urged Christians to invigorate efforts to spread their faith’s message despite what he described as the unfriendly climate to Christianity in parts of the world. He did not specify any particular region.

“In a world marked by religious indifference and even by a growing aversion toward the Christian faith, a new, intense activity of evangelization is necessary,” the pope said

According to a recent article, I can use 10-minute chunks of time to easily spruce up the house. I’ve practiced such hints before – “spend 10 minutes doing everything possible in one room.” It actually works. Doing “whatever I can do in one hour in the house,” works too.
