Revenge is indeed best served cold
Not only did Obama fail to fill the hall in Massachusetts this evening by a significant margin… not only did Obama get heckled again and again and at one point was forced to leave the media pool’s camera view to wait it out… but according to CNN’s sources, it is all over but the shouting.
Yes, Martha… the fat lady is warming up …tra la la laaaa la la la laaa
And if any ANY Liberal Election Strategist thinks we in Massachusetts who oppose ObamaCare, Obama, Coakley, and the rest of the Socialist/Marxist gang of thugs in Congress will stay home on Tuesday thinking it is in the bag, they once again horribly underestimate the American People who love their country. It goes beyond loyalty to parties or candidates. It is part of our DNA.
These Socialist dirtbags are going DOWN
The line is drawn HERE
UPDATE: Why am I not Surprised??? CNN scrubbed the following report killing the original link is dead.
Obviously thinking better of that, CNN reinstated the report under a different link.
CNN Dithering… illuminates the Obama media lap dog’s dilemma of ‘damned if we do; damned if we don’t’ in the face of the Brown Effect sweeping the land …as if tentative reporting will stop the Massachusetts Brown-Out of Martha Coakleyye‘s Massachusettes campaign and the Socialist Agenda being shoved upon Americans against their will.
The Mass Schilling Effect of highly infectious Brown Fever has decidedly infiltrated Washington, sweeping through the White House like a 4-alarm fire.

Sources: Obama advisers believe Coakley will lose
Posted: January 17th, 2010 04:22 PM ET
From CNN Senior White House Correspondent Ed Henry
Washington (CNN) – Multiple advisers to President Obama have privately told party officials that they believe Democrat Martha Coakley is going to lose Tuesday’s special election to fill the Massachusetts Senate seat held by the late Ted Kennedy for more than 40 years, several Democratic sources told CNN Sunday.
The sources added that the advisers are still hopeful that Obama’s visit to Massachusetts on Sunday – coupled with a late push by Democratic activists – could help Coakley pull out a narrow victory in an increasingly tight race against Republican state Sen. Scott Brown.
However, the presidential advisers have grown increasingly pessimistic in the last three days about Coakley’s chances after a series of missteps by the candidate, sources said.
But White House spokesman Bill Burton told CNN: “The President is in Massachusetts today because he believes Martha Coakley is the right person for the job and indeed will be the next senator from Massachusetts.”

I guess in November and 2012, we can fight the fraud numbers and ACORN bullshit with actual numbers of independents and democrats- provided Brown gets in and derails illegal getting the vote which has been Obama’s strategy to add to the Democrat party’s frauding of the vote.

and VF, you may be right that some of the dems are feebly trying to make it seem like Brown is a shoe-in. It could very well be a weak attempt to get repubs to stay home. I don’t think the venue was partly empty because of a lack of people wanting to be there. I think they could jam the place if they wanted to. I hear they turned people away outside.
Leaking that Martha will lose with the polls so close does not make sense unless it is a ploy. I didn’t believe they would actually try a strategy like that, and I’m still not convinced, but it does make me wonder….
Poor VF—-Hope you get back up soon! That just sucks—-

I think you might have a point there but they just can’t mess with so many polls. All they can do is mess with their own press releases.

I have a lot to do today. Will be back later. Another lovely thaw day that will allow me to…
DOG OVERBOARD
Don’t have to pay for a hot air balloon – YEEEES!
Rose, liberalism is a lie, girl. You’ve got them in power right now and what have they done for you- you know the cap and trade legislation does nothing but soviet style regulation and wealth redistribution, you know the healthcare bill is so bad they had to bribe their own liberals to vote for it by granting EXEMPTIONS to the legislation! How much worse can it get!?
And now Obama is going to kill the great lakes for all of us and Canada, cause billions of dollars in losses… Because a killer carp fish is getting loose and he won’t stop it because of the special interests in Illinois need their 30 mill… Verses and entire ecology and two nations!
Liberalism is a lie. They have the power to fulfill all their constituents dreams, but power is all that is behind big govt and ‘compassion’- power and control.
You think Coakley is a good candidate? She’s practically retarded.
LOL…
Well I got to go out- talk to y’all later…

m2 said: You think Coakley is a good candidate? She’s practically retarded.
sami, aren’t you starting the celebration a bit pre-maturely?
oh and excuse my manners. Good morning back at you sami!
Got to admit Coakley has Bidenitis… Foot in mouth disease.
Rosie says
sami, aren’t you starting the celebration a bit pre-maturely?
Why Rosie,
Why wouldn’t I celebrate? Win or lose tomorrow Scott Brown already has the victory in that he turned this election into a Referendum on Obama and his Health Care Bill.
The Dems be Done girl. It is finished.
and m2, I know cap and trade is bogus and the health care bill is a sham. Neither party can really be effective and I know this works to advantage in many cases but also prevents any legislation with substance from getting passed.
It is victory! Smells sweet doesn’t it?
Oh and by the way Rose, you look lovely today.
Fox I think it was your cannon fire that woke up the Conservatives. I really do!
Why sould one want shame legislation to go through to pass substance? That’s what is wrong with the politicians.
foxy, these days no candidate ever gets away with any gaff. What else has Martha said besides that the terrorists have left Afghanistan (which for the most part may be true) and Curt Shilling is a Yankees fan (big effin deal)?

haha sami, if you think the dems are gonna bend over and submit, you be thinking wrong. They may have peaked, but they will not go down without a fight. The end is not as near as you might think.

If you think diesel fuel is sweet, I guess you can call it victory, but I still think its premature.
foxy said: It is victory! Smells sweet doesn’t it?
rofl
and really, what are the chances of Scott Brown getting a vote on health care?
then again, will the dems really be able to come up with a compromise in time to pass the bill before Brown gets certified, if he indeed does get elected, which I predict he won’t?
Scott Brown already has the victory in that he turned this election into a Referendum on Obama and his Health Care Bill.
“Liberalism is not a lie, no more than conservativism. Liberals lie. Conservatives lie.”
Still making me smile.
I’ve counted 4 gaff thus far Rosey.
Like Sami said, it’s already a win. Obutthole knows it, too.
sorry to change the subject, but why are these people cheering? The guy took steroids in order to break the homerun record and then kept it a secret for years. Hank Aaron forgives him, Roger Maris’s decendents forgive him. Aaron even says he should still be in the Hall of Fame! I don’t get it.

ST. LOUIS – Mark McGwire received a standing ovation from Cardinals fans Sunday in his first public appearance in St. Louis since admitting he used steroids.
Fox check out the point counter point video I put up above. Sooooooooo funny. C’mon Rose, watch it.
I think we should let all our politicians use opiates. Opiates make one feel invincible. They allow one to go for days without sleep. You can really get things done with that combination.
I see it like this, Rosey. I saw Nick Bocwinkle hit Terry Funk with a roll of quarters he had stashed in hid tights. Then pinned Funk. The reff found the coinage on the mat and asked Bocwinkle if he cheated. Bocwinkle said yes but was given the win because he told the truth.
It take s a while to load on an aircard. I’ll check it out after the DL.

CNN’s Cafferty Slams Obama for ‘Lie’ on Healthcare Talks
Is CNN going rogue on President Obama?
Commentator Jack Cafferty — who has been outspoken in his praise of Obama in the past — launched a blistering attack on Obama and the Democrats over the closed-door negotiations to reconcile the House and Senate versions of healthcare reform legislation.
“How dare they!” he began on a recent edition of CNN’s “The Situation Room.”
“President Obama and Democratic leaders have decided to bypass a formal House and Senate conference committee in order to reconcile those two healthcare bills. Instead, White House and Democratic leaders will hold informal — that’s another word for secret — negotiations meant to shut Republicans and the public out of the process.
“What a far cry from the election, when candidate Obama pledged to ‘broadcast healthcare negotiations on C-SPAN so the American people can see what the choices are.’
“President Obama hasn’t even made a token effort to keep his campaign promises of more openness and transparency in government. It was all just another lie that was told in order to get elected.”
C-SPAN Chief Executive Brian Lamb sent a letter to House and Senate leaders on Jan. 5 asking that the negotiations be televised, saying healthcare reform “will affect the lives of every single American.” The request was rebuffed.
“The Democrats insist this is all on the up and up,” Cafferty continued, “with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi saying ‘there’s never been a more open process for any legislation.’ Really?
“This is the same Nancy Pelosi who, you may recall after becoming speaker in 2006, promised the Democrats would have the ‘most honest, most open, and most ethical Congress in history.’
“Here’s hoping the voters remember some of this crap when the midterm elections roll around later this year.”
The blast was a sharp turnaround for Cafferty, who in March rhapsodized about the “bright” and “terrific” Barack Obama in an interview with Media Bistro.
Asked whether he thought the president could turn things around, Cafferty described himself as “hopeful” and gushed, “I like him a lot. I think he’s a bright guy.”
Then in a statement that now appears strikingly ironic, he added: “I like the fact that he’s visible and that, you know, he’s attempting to bring some transparency and some legitimacy and honesty to the office, which has been missing for a while.”
Morning Belle.
Out to do chores—bbl
I think I forgot Rosey.
Morning Rosey!
I’m not saying what happened in Haiti isn’t horrible but I just don’t think 2012 will be anything we’ve ever had to deal with.
Good find Lisa:
CNN’s Cafferty Slams Obama for ‘Lie’ on Healthcare Talks
I have a very special place in my heart for Guatemala. belle, I understand your feelings about saving our money for the next inevitable disaster that will hit the US, but we can’t let our neighbors die. When people hit rock bottom, they will do anything to survive and they are the most suseptible to terroist influence. If the US turns its back, we will be faced with increased hatred from our closest neighbors. I’m not saying we should help them because of this, but this could be a consequence. I just think we must help because otherwise their people will die.
Morning Fox & Lisa!
Morning Lisa!
Rose, I do think the US should lead the help efforts but I wouldn’t spread us too thin on the home front. Make sense?
I hear Brown will win the seat and that’s why dems are rushing to pass healthcare in the 11th hour.
I can’t wait for Rush’s take on these poll numbers!
One poll on Fox news radio has Brown in double digits. That means Dems will be crossing the line to vote.
That should tell you just how bad ObamaCare truly is.
yes, belle, it makes perfect sense. We can’t expect to be the saviors of the world. I think we should help our closest neighbors and let other countries help their neighbors.
We have bloodied our hands in both Haiti and Guatemala and owe them at least our humanitarian aid.
I’ll be back in a few minutes.
Bad weather will give the advantage to the GOP.
Has Cuba done anything to assist with Haiti? Would US be expected to assist Cuba if something should happen?
why foxy?

Let’s listen to what James Madison, the father of the Constitution, said about Haiti.
“Charity is no part of the legislative duty of the government.” –James Madison
In 1794, when Congress appropriated $15,000 for relief of French refugees who fled from insurrection in San Domingo to Baltimore and Philadelphia, James Madison stood on the floor of the House to object saying, “I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.” — James Madison, 4 Annals of congress 1794
Some are now reporting it was a 6.3 quake
It’s a non-election year vote, so the voters are usually not interested. It’s supposed to be cold with snow, which usually reduces numbers again. Republicans are fired up and will show, Dems are crossing the line and Independents see the light.
This is good for the GOP.
dang, belle, 6.0 isn’t nearly as bad as 6.3. that not good. do you know where the epicenter is?
foxy, if anyone in mass is not interested in this vote, they are either deaf, dumb and blind or they are delusional…
On July 4, 1812, Rev. Joseph Willard, the president of Harvard University, said in a speech in Lancaster, New Hampshire: “There is sufficient evidence that a number of societies, of the Illuminati, have been established in this land of Gospel light and civil liberty, which were first organized from the grand society, in France. They are doubtless secretly striving to undermine all our ancient institutions, civil and sacred. These societies are closely leagued with those of the same Order, in Europe; they have all the same object in view. The enemies of all order are seeking our ruin. Should infidelity generally prevail, our independence would fall of course. Our republican government would be annihilated…”
Media Ignores Good News About Race
By Juan Williams
– FOXNews.com
As the nation celebrates Martin Luther King’s birthday today the absence of coverage says a lot about people who don’t want things to change when it comes to the old us-versus-them racial politics.
An astonishing poll has signaled a new era in American race relations. It appeared just last week but if you read The New York Times or Washington Post you wouldn’t know about it because there was little or no coverage.
As the nation celebrates Martin Luther King’s birthday today the absence of coverage says a lot about people who don’t want things to change when it comes to the old us-versus-them racial politics.
The poll by the respected Pew Research Center for the People and the Press found that 70 percent of white Americans and 60 percent of black Americans “believe values held by blacks and white have become more similar in the past decade.” Those numbers are unprecedented. Clear majorities of black and white Americans are saying that the divide born or racial, cultural and educational divisions is closing fast. The history of slavery, legal segregation and suspicion that comes with black anger and white guilt is amazingly close to being eclipsed by agreement across racial lines on common values.
And it is not just values that black and white are agreeing on. The poll also found that 65 percent of whites and 56 percent of blacks believe the gap between standards of living for the two races has narrowed over the last ten years. Even as incomes between the races have slightly widened during those ten years there is the feeling among both races that the level of comfort – living standard – is increasingly similar.
And there is more good news about race in the Pew poll.
For example, 39 percent of black Americans in the Pew poll say the “situation for blacks in the U.S.” is better than it was five years earlier. That is nearly twice the 20 percent of blacks who told Pew in a 2007 poll that the racial climate for black people had improved over the prior five years. In this latest poll, a majority of black Americans, 53 percent, also said they expect life in the future to be even better for black people. In the 2007 poll only 41 percent of black Americans expressed such optimism.
And in what I think is the most amazing finding of the new poll 52 percent of blacks said that black people who are not getting ahead today are “responsible for their own situation.” Only one-third of black Americans said racism is keeping down the black poor.
Fifteen years polls found the exact opposite with most black people pointing to racism as the major impediment to black people rising up the ladder of social and economic opportunity in the U.S.
These are major shifts in opinion among black and white Americans but especially among black people. The Pew researchers, whom I consulted with as they did the poll, point to the election of the first black President, Barack Obama, as the spur for this jump in good feeling among black Americans.
There is no doubt that having a black man elected President has shaken the world view of black people. A lot of folks, especially older African Americans who lived through the bad old days of segregation, did not think they would live to see a black man in the White House. The poll finds their attitude on race has become much more upbeat in the past two years and that has contributed to the overall leap in black optimism.
But there is something else going on here. Since the intense years of civil rights activism in the 1950s and 1960s the rates of high school graduation, income and home ownership have all been climbing for black Americans. But despite those decades of change polls did not find any sudden rise in optimism among black people to match what this latest Pew poll has uncovered.
I think I know why.
Black Americans and especially black civil rights leaders did not want to acknowledge the progress being made on the race relations front. Blacks feared that white America — in the form of government, foundations, churches and educational institutions — might point to any admission of racial progress as evidence that there was no more work to be done to heal the damage done to contemporary American life by racism.
But with continued progress for all minorities but especially blacks over the past decades — and the election of a black President – the silencer is off. There is a new confidence among black and whites that values and opportunities now exist in close to equal measure for blacks and whites who get an education and work hard.
Imagine how sky high this optimism might be if the recession had not hit and unemployment was not 10 percent including 16 percent for black people.
These astounding findings in the Pew poll open a different racial discussion in America. In the past, the big news out of polls of the two races predictably showed that white people thought one way and black people thought another. Now here is a poll that finds black and white people finding common ground as never before.
Yet somehow the New York Times and Washington Post did not find space in their news columns to tell this uplifting story.
If there was a charge of racism against a policeman or a politicians uttered some racially insensitive language that surely would have been on the front pages; in fact, just last week Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid ended up on the front pages for just such a racial stumble.
But there was no space for news of new racial attitudes that signal that so much of the bitter feelings and finger-pointing of the past has faded. It is enough to make you think that some newspapers only see racial division as newsworthy.
What would Dr. King say?
Maybe they, like the old race hustlers and racists, think racial progress is not good for business.

Eliminate the FEDERAL RESERVE!
“The founder of the Rothschild dynasty, Mayer Amschel Bauer, told the secret of controlling the government of a nation over 200 years ago. He said, “Permit me to issue and control the money of a nation and I care not who makes its laws.” Get the picture? Your freedom hinges first on the nation’s banks and money system. It’s all about ‘commerce’. Freedom is connected with Debt Elimination for each individual. Not only does this end personal debt, it places the people first in line as creditors to the National Debt ahead of the banks. They don’t wish for you to know this.”
foxy, the good thing about americans is that we rise to the occasion and give generously from our pockets. Look how quickly benefits are being organized by the entertainment industry. Actors, musicians, even skaters are stepping up to raise money. Lots of people have donated to the Red Cross and other ngo’s.
Our gov’t does not have a responsibility to help, but I think support for emergency aid in times of disaster is overwhelmingly supported by the American people.
“foxy, if anyone in mass is not interested in this vote, they are either deaf, dumb and blind or they are delusional…”
I study politics, Rosey. These are true statistics…
This was written LAST WEDNESDAY. They pretty much predicted more quakes could come.
Still, scientists have pulled together an increasingly clear picture of the broad geophysical context in which Monday’s event took place. Hispaniola sits squarely atop a boundary between two plates in Earth’s crust: the North American Plate and the Caribbean Plate. The Caribbean Plate is trying to slide past a particularly tough block of crust underlying the Bahamas. The two are grinding past each other, much like the motion along another plate boundary — California’s San Andreas Fault.

US President Booed off the stage…. what a country!
Socialists have their claws out… Debbie wasserman-schultz went on FOX and said Brown denies women rape-kits.
They have had a melt down… it as Coakley herself said “If I lose this race the 2010 elections will be hell for democrats.”
Well it will be hell but because the American People are awake and terminally PISSED OFF and looking for Socialist Blood at the voting booth.
The BS lies that the Socialists used on Palin to try to discredit her emboldened them to try it with Brown… and in a much different political landscape.
BAM!!!! They are shooting themselves in the head… it is like a Jamestown mass suicide.

I want to be one of the first to congratulate you on having an impact on the election. Without the mobilized efforts of conservative bloggers like you, Scott Brown would not be looking at one of the biggest upsets in American history. This is truely historic in that the internet and a grass roots effort has turned an election around. I am impressed.
so really VF, there’s no reason to actually cast your vote since Brown has it in the bag, now is there? HAHAHAHA
but I’m still predicting a Coakley win after multiple recounts. lol

That’s
After they count the dead and duplicates?
Browns phone banks are busy and Coakleys are empty! HAHAHA! Very telling…
They will have to count the dead and duplicates to win! 🙂
Coakley’s phone banks are empty? maybe that’s because they have a system that is geared for younger dems and not older conservatives, who don’t all have computers. The dems set phone volunteers up with a program they run on the computer. Volunteers work from home.
I think I’d rather like to work a phone bank just before an election as opposed to sitting at home making calls. I’m sure the air is filled with excitement at the phone banks.
Rose wrote: belle, it looks like the earthquake was offshore. Are they warning of a tsunami?
I think this is the right link. It appears there are no tsunami warnings.
Rose, I really don’t know if that is the correct link. It only looks like it could be.

Nope. They let phone attendants go early. Not enough work.
foxy, no doubt there will be voter fraud and the dead will vote, felons will vote, illegal aliens will vote, donald duck will vote.
That will all have to be sorted out after the election. It may end up being like the governor’s race in Wash state in 2004. It was steeped in controversy and was especially upsetting to Republicans because the recount switched the initial win for Dino Rossi. It was a heartbreaker for his campaign. I saw him when he came here to campaign in his big RV.
Browns lead is higher than ever. Coakley doesn’t stand a chance.
This election is becoming more of a distraction. I wonder what Reid is doing today??? I wonder what ObamaCare will look like tomorrow??
Even the far left in Mass are slamming anyone who supports Coakley… ranting she is not far enough left and would be worse than a Republican.
Mass LGBT community organizers are shouting out to their communities to boycott the election tomorrow as payback for broken Obama promises.
Next thing you know illegal aliens will refuse to vote for Coakley after ACORN went to so much trouble to register them. lol
foxy, that’s ridiculous. How could there be “not enough work”? They are making outbound calls to Mass voters no? Or maybe not. Now so much is automated. But if the phone banks are set up to make outbound calls, there would be no shortage of work, unless they had too many workers already. Then they would have to let them go.

Coakley down 16% in absentee voting!
ohkay, foxy. so the phone banks are taking donations? and brown is rolling all the way to the bank and Coakley is opening her cupboard and all that she sees is some stale saltines and an expired can of sardines?
It’s a sad state of affairs when we just take for granted that there will be voter fraud, that felons will be voting, that dead people will be voting. That is pathetic and very telling on where this country has gone when we just “know” that there will be all kinds of illegalities in the process.
When Americans can’t trust the voting process, what’s left?
re: Coakley down 16% in absentee voting!
that is not looking good for martha at all.
Ted Kennedy’s seniority, thus high power, was a primary reason many voted for him… a case for term limits and against vote pandering pork barrel amendments
But, Ted was a loser in so many ways… just as Barney Frank is a loser.
Trust me when I tell you… ole Barn did not get a good night’s sleep last night… mentally projecting receiving a campaign thrashing like Coakley’s.

Prosecution of voter fraud is the answer. But when you have Holder as AG and he throws out cases like the Black Panthers and ignores calls to investigate ACORN, it’s game on for groups to perpetrate it. And they will knowing full well that there will be no price to pay. Ever.
When you have people who are willing to accept that this is now the status quo on election day, why should anyone bother to prosecute this?
And yes, OhioBelle, banana republic would about fit the image that Obama has for us.

The non-partisan Rothenberg Political Report is predicting that Republican Scott Brown will win the special election Tuesday to fill the late Sen. Edward Kennedy’s Senate seat.
Washington (CNN) – Less than 24 hours before Massachusetts voters head to the polls, the non-partisan Rothenberg Political Report is predicting that Republican Scott Brown will win the special election Tuesday to fill the late Sen. Edward Kennedy’s Senate seat.
On late Monday morning, Rothenberg changed his prediction from “Toss up” to “Lean Takeover” in favor of the Massachusetts Republican.
“While special elections often come down to turnout – and they therefore are more difficult to predict than normal elections – the combination of public and private survey research and anecdotal information now strongly suggests that Republican Scott Brown will defeat Democrat Martha Coakley in tomorrow’s race to fill the remainder of the late Sen. Edward Kennedy’s seat,” Rothenberg wrote on his Web site.
The non-partisan Cook Political Report has the race rated as a “Toss up,” but notes in its analysis of the race that “we put a finger on the scale for Brown.”

Obama appears in new ad for Coakley

From CNN Deputy Political Director Paul Steinhauser
President Obama appears in a new ad for Martha Coakley released Monday.
(CNN) – President Barack Obama appears in a new campaign commercial for fellow Democrat Martha Coakley, the party’s candidate in Tuesday’s special election for the late Sen. Ted Kennedy’s seat.
The ad began running on television in Massachusetts Monday, one day after the president was the main attraction at a rally for Coakley Sunday in Boston.
The commercial uses portions of Obama’s speech from the Sunday Coakley campaign event.
“Martha knows the struggles Massachusetts working families face because she’s lived those struggles. She’s fought for the people of Massachusetts every single day,” says the president in the ad. “As attorney general she took on Wall Street and recovered millions for Massachusetts taxpayers. She went after big insurance companies, took on predatory lenders. That’s what Martha Coakley’s all about. Every vote matters. Every voice matters. We need you on Tuesday.”
I wonder if the ad includes the heckler? nah…
The commercial uses portions of Obama’s speech from the Sunday Coakley campaign event.

Obama Serves Lunches at Shelter, Talks to Families About MLK
AP
The president is spending the day at various activities around Washington to honor the federal holiday for the nation’s foremost civil rights leader.
WASHINGTON — President Obama served plates of steaming hot lunches to the needy on Monday, one of several ways the nation’s first black president paid tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. on the federal holiday that honors the slain civil rights leader.
Obama also scheduled a White House talk with black elders and their grandchildren about the movement for racial equality that King led until he was assassinated in 1968. The president also was to speak later Monday during a musical celebration of King’s legacy at the Kennedy Center.
His outing was part of an array of holiday tributes. Worshippers at King’s Ebenezer Baptist Church heard Princeton University scholar Cornel West deliver a passionate keynote address in Atlanta, urging them not to “sanitize” King’s legacy.
In Washington, Obama spent the day with King observances.
“How are you sir? God bless you,” the president said, greeting one man among the dozens of men and women who filed into the dining room at SOME, or So Others Might Eat.
The organization, just a short ride from the White House, provides the poor and homeless with food and other services. Obama handed them pre-assembled lunch plates of chicken, potato salad, mixed vegetables and bread.
He brought the whole family: first lady Michelle Obama, daughters Malia and Sasha, mother-in-law Marian Robinson and some aides.
Mrs. Obama poured hot coffee while 8-year-old Sasha tagged along and handed out packets of sweetener. Mrs. Robinson walked around serving danishes from a baking sheet. Malia, 11, walked among the rows of diners, chatting with them and shaking hands.
One woman asked Mrs. Obama if she had brought the family dog, Bo. (She did not.)
It was the president’s second straight day of reflection on the legacy of King, whom Obama credits with paving the way for his 2008 election.
On Sunday, at a Baptist church founded by freed slaves, Obama spoke of his reliance on faith, recalled King’s work and urged hundreds of worshippers to take heart in hard times and celebrate progress — however small.

Another group of 60 member of the Henry Reeve International Medical Brigade against Disasters and Serious Epidemics has started assisting victims of the quake that hit Haiti last Tuesday.
The team, with experience in China, Pakistan, Guatemala, Indonesia and Bolivia, joined the 344 Cuban health collaborators who were already working in that Caribbean nation before the devastating 7.3-degree earthquake.
As part of the solidarity support to one of the poorest countries of the world, now strongly hit by nature, the Havana government has sent medicines, serum and plasma bags, foods and other supplies.
Cuban physicians have assisted some 2,000 patients and carry out 111 major surgeries and 60 minor surgeries in an improvised field hospital, several mass media reported.
Interviewed by Cuban television, several doctors described the situation in Haiti as critical, and ratified their willingness to work hard to help relieve the pain of a suffering nation.

Hey Rose
I think they have one in Puerto Rico…..or thereabouts???
From the Patriot Post:
Martin Luther King Jr.
“I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.’ … I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. … And if America is to be a great nation this must become true.” –Martin Luther King Jr.
Historian Shelby Steele observed, “There is an awful lot of conservative sentiment in black America, but at the moment, the party line is ruthlessly enforced.” Indeed, some of King’s chief lieutenants, like Jesse Jackson, tolerate no dissension from their liberal ranks now. They have abandoned King’s dream, and aligned themselves with political and social agendas obsessed with color at the expense of character.
Black conservatives of national stature, such as Clarence Thomas, Ward Connerly, Michael Steele, Jesse Lee Peterson, Alan Keyes, Don Scoggins, Alvin Williams, Ken Blackwell, Thomas Sowell, Star Parker and Walter Williams are routinely castigated by the Black Supremacists, as “Uncle Toms” and “puppets.” Yet these are the men and women who really understand King’s central message about character.
Today, Barack Obama will be waxing eloquently about King’s legacy. But it is worth noting that prior to his murder in 1968, Martin King went to Obama’s hometown of Chicago to meet with Mayor Richard Daley, father of the current Windy City Don. Chicago was a hotbed of racial hatred under Daley, and not much has changed.
King observed of that enmity, “This is the most tragic picture of man’s inhumanity to man. I’ve been to Mississippi and Alabama and I can tell you that the hatred and hostility in Chicago are really deeper than in Alabama and Mississippi.”
Chicago was not only a denizen of racial hatred but the violent black supremacist movement was born there. King said, “Those who are associated with ‘Black Power’ and black supremacy are wrong.”
It is that very racial hatred and hostility in which Obama has been steeped, particularly by mentors such as Jeremiah Wright.
At King’s funeral, one Bible passage, Matthew 5:9, summed up his life’s mission: “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.”
Obama was not stewarded by peacemakers.
The Gipper
“In 1968 Martin Luther King was gunned down by a brutal assassin, his life cut short at the age of 39. But those 39 short years had changed America forever. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 had guaranteed all Americans equal use of public accommodations, equal access to programs financed by federal funds, and the right to compete for employment on the sole basis of individual merit. The Voting Rights Act of 1965 had made certain that from then on black Americans would get to vote. But most important, there was not just a change of law; there was a change of heart. The conscience of America had been touched. Across the land, people had begun to treat each other not as blacks and whites, but as fellow Americans. … Now our nation has decided to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by setting aside a day each year to remember him and the just cause he stood for. We’ve made historic strides since Rosa Parks refused to go to the back of the bus. As a democratic people, we can take pride in the knowledge that we Americans recognized a grave injustice and took action to correct it. And we should remember that in far too many countries, people like Dr. King never have the opportunity to speak out at all.” –Ronald Reagan
would never have believed it but yes, there are theories out there that the US is engaging in “geophysical warfare” or at least experimenting with “engineered earthquakes”. holy cow!

Brown supporters out number Coakley supporters at her own event, even with the anointed one stumping for her, 4 to 1.
Can you say
BLOWOUT
Lisa, Gotta just love Reagan. A true Statesman
Anyone remember Hands Across America?
I remember it well. My children were still little and my wife and I were able to participate in the event.
My ex Mother-in law told my little children it was a foolish event. How sad.
This is for all the people in Mass. It appears the election has already been called. Stay home.
The Last Word
“I’ve been out of the country for a couple of days, so let me see if I’ve got this right: America’s preparing to celebrate the first anniversary of Good King Barack the Hopeychanger’s reign by electing a Republican? In Massachusetts? In what the tin-eared plonkers of the Democrat machine still insist on calling ‘Ted Kennedy’s seat’? Remember the good old days when the glossy magazine covers competed for the most worshipful image of the new global colossus? If you were at the Hopeychange inaugural ball on Jan. 20, 2009, when Barney Frank dived into the mosh pit, and you chanced to be underneath when he landed, and you’ve spent the past year in a coma, until suddenly coming to in time for the poll showing some unexotically monikered nobody called Scott Brown, whose only glossy magazine appearance was a Cosmopolitan pictorial 30 years ago (true), four points ahead in Kennedy country, you must surely wonder if you’ve woken up in an alternative universe. The last thing you remember before Barney came flying down is Harry Reid waltzing you round the floor while murmuring sweet nothings about America being ready for a light-skinned brown man with no trace of a Negro dialect. And now you’re in some dystopian nightmare where Massachusetts is ready for a nude-skinned Brown man with no trace of a Kennedy dialect. How can this be happening?” –columnist Mark Steyn

If you look on the positive side of this election it would seem that Coakley has plenty of time to write her concession speech.

So true. The Gipper had a way of bringing people together, unlike the commie in charge who believes he brings people together by forcing them to think like him or else threaten and shut them off in a room like bad little children.
Croakly needs to invest in a zipper for her big mouth—-another demented commie from hell that needs to be replaced!
There is a rumor that Obama may name her (Coakley) as the baseball Czar after the election/landslide.
“Against the insidious wiles of foreign influence (I conjure you to believe me, fellow-citizens,) the jealousy of a free people ought to be constantly awake; since history and experience prove, that foreign influence is one of the most baneful foes of Republican Government. But that jealousy, to be useful, must be impartial; else it becomes the instrument of the very influence to be avoided, instead of a defence against it. Excessive partiality for one foreign nation, and excessive dislike of another, cause those whom they actuate to see danger only on one side, and serve to veil and even second the arts of influence on the other. Real patriots, who may resist the intrigues of the favorite, are liable to become suspected and odious; while its tools and dupes usurp the applause and confidence of the people, to surrender their interests.”–George Washington Farewell Address, September 17, 1796,

It’s not Kennedy’s seat.
It’s not the Democrat’s seat.
It’s Rufus Choate’s seat….
Rufus Choate
United States Senator
from Massachusetts
In office
February 23, 1841 – March 3, 1845
A precocious child, at six he is said to have been able to repeat large parts of the Bible and of Pilgrim’s Progress from memory. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa[2] and graduated as valedictorian of his class at Dartmouth College in 1819, was a tutor there in 1819–1820, spent a year in the law school of Harvard University, and studied for a like period in Washington, D.C., in the office of William Wirt, then Attorney General of the United States.
Don’t you just love Dame Pelosi down in DC yelling that they are going to pass the health care bill no matter what happens in Massachusetts. She and Harry Reid need to have dinner together and discuss what bad press means. And they can take their fav friend, Barney Frank with them.
It is also Daniel Webster’s seat:
Daniel Webster
United States Senator from Massachusetts
In office
June 8, 1827 – February 22, 1841
Daniel Webster was an attorney, and served as legal counsel in several cases that established important constitutional precedents that bolstered the authority of the Federal government.
RH – I’ll bet he was involved in founding the Choate School. Did he coin the word “inchoate”? lol.
well, it’s just as well that the hc bill dies. I think it is a sucky bill, although we really don’t know what is in it do we?
Love the history of the seat, RH
RH – Do you think Dan Webster posed for a centerfold in his dictionary?
It is also Christopher Gore’s seat. hmmm…I wonder if there’s any relation? nah.
This guy has some things in common with Brown.
Christopher Gore
United States Senator
from Massachusetts
In office
May 5, 1813 – May 30, 1816
President George Washington appointed Gore the first United States Attorney for Massachusetts, in which post he served 1789-1796. In 1796, Washington appointed Gore as a commissioner to the Jay Treaty in Britain, in which post he served 1796-1803. Gore also spent two months as chargé d’affaires in London, 1803-1804, after his friend Rufus King resigned from his post. He remained abroad until 1804.
Soon after his return, Gore was elected to the Massachusetts Senate. He ran for Governor of the Commonwealth in 1807 and 1808 before winning a one-year term in 1809. He served as an overseer of Harvard University from 1810-1815 and later a fellow (1812-1820). Gore Hall a Gothic style building built in 1838 of Quincy granite was Harvard’s first library building and was named in his honor.
In the spring of 1813 he was appointed to the U.S. Senate to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of James Lloyd (Massachusetts). He served from May 5, 1813 to May 30, 1816. He retired to his country home in Waltham, Massachusetts in 1816, where he remained until 1822 when declining health forced him to return to Boston. He died in 1827 in Waltham, and is buried in the Granary Burying Ground, Boston.
SH, if he did, I would love to get my hands on it. It would be worth a pretty penny. And you know a penny saved is a penny earned.
SH said: RH – Do you think Dan Webster posed for a centerfold in his dictionary?
It’s John Quincy Adams seat
John Quincy Adams
United States Senator
from Massachusetts
In office
1803 – June 8, 1808
John Quincy Adams (July 11, 1767 – February 23, 1848) was the sixth President of the United States from March 4, 1825 to March 4, 1829. He was also an American diplomat and served in both the Senate and House of Representatives. He was a member of the Federalist, Democratic-Republican, National Republican, and later Anti-Masonic and Whig parties.
Adams was the son of the second President John Adams and his wife Abigail Adams, the name “Quincy” having come from Abigail’s maternal grandfather, Colonel John Quincy, after whom Quincy, Massachusetts is also named.[1][pn 1] As a diplomat, he was involved in many international negotiations, and helped formulate the Monroe Doctrine as Secretary of State. As president he proposed a program of modernization and educational advancement, but was stymied by Congress. Adams lost his 1828 bid for re-election to Andrew Jackson.
Adams was elected a U.S. Representative from Massachusetts after leaving office, the only president ever to do so, serving for the last 17 years of his life. In the House he became a leading opponent of the Slave Power and argued that if a civil war ever broke out the president could abolish slavery by using his war powers, which Abraham Lincoln partially did during the American Civil War in the 1863 Emancipation Proclamation.

interesting info:
Mid-term vacancies
The 17th Amendment also mandates special elections to fill mid-term vacancies, but state legislatures may empower the governor of the state to fill the seat by an appointment until the winner of the special election is certified. Forty-five states permit such appointments as of 2009. Oregon and Wisconsin require special elections for vacancies, and Oklahoma permits the governor to appoint only the winner of a special election.[8] In September 2009, Massachusetts changed its law to enable the governor to appoint a temporary replacement for the late Senator Kennedy until the special election in January 2010.[9][10] In 2004, Alaska enacted legislation and a separate ballot referendum that took effect on the same day, but that conflicted with each other. The effect of the ballot-approved law is to withhold from the governor authority to appoint a senator.[11] Because the 17th Amendment vests the power to grant that authority to the legislature, not the people or the state generally, it is unclear whether the ballot measure supplants the legislature’s statute granting that authority.[11] As a result, it is uncertain whether an Alaska governor may appoint an interim senator to serve until a special election is held to fill the vacancy.
interesting too…
Massachusetts Law: Certificate Of Election Can’t Come For At Least Ten Days (And Probably More)
Eric Kleefeld | January 18, 2010, 3:29PM
MA Senate Candidates AG Martha Coakley (D) and State Sen. Scott Brown (R)
With the Senate Democrats indicating that they will wait for the state of Massachusetts to follow its own procedural guidelines for certifying a winner in the Massachusetts special Senate election, the next question should be asked: What are the state’s guidelines and procedures?
We asked Michelle Tassinari, the legal counsel for the state Elections Division, and she sent us over a list of the relevant statutes.
First of all, no certificate of election can be issued until at least ten days following a special election, and in real terms it would probably be at least 15 days. State law can allow for a certificate seven days after a special election — but that law is trumped by the federal laws governing overseas and military ballots, which are triggered because this is an election for federal office, and which create a longer window in this election.
The delay between election day and certification of the winner is provided for by state law in order for local election officials — there are 351 local election offices in the state — to certify their totals, and to count overseas absentee ballots that have not arrived until after election day. The deadline for absentee ballots sent from overseas to reach their local election offices is 5 p.m. on January 29.
Tassinari also explained to us that January 29 is not necessarily the endpoint. Ballots must arrive by 5 p.m. on that day, and the local election officials cannot have their meeting to count them until after 5 p.m. that day. The local election officials then have up to five more days to resolve any provisional ballots before they certify their local election results, which must be done by February 3rd.
After the results are received from the local election officials, the Secretary of State will present the total results to the governor and the Governor’s Council for certification. Only after the results are certified by the governor and the Governor’s Council can a certificate of election be issued. (The governor and the council schedule their own meetings, which usually take place on Wednesdays.)
So what does this all mean? Looking over these statutes, it seems clear that unless the result is very, very close (think Al Franken and Norm Coleman in Minnesota, or Scott Murphy and Jim Tedisco in NY-20), we should probably know on election night who has been elected when the vast majority of votes are counted. But even then, state law is clear that a certificate of election cannot be issued until at least 15 days later.
And if Senate Democrats insist on a completed certificate — just as the Senate Dems did in their unsuccessful attempts to keep out Sen. Roland Burris (D-IL), and Senate Republicans did in their successful blocking of Al Franken during the Minnesota litigation — that would keep the winner out for at least 15 days.
Bob Beckle thinks that Brown will win.
Even Barney Franks dont have faith in Cloakley.
Rasputin Report
Wed. January 20, 2010
In one of the most stunning Senate upsets in recent memory, Scott Brown defeated Mass. Attorney General Martha Coakley in a landslide victory that noone would have predicted just a few short weeks ago.
Voters all over Massachusetts are in shock today. One young man with a “Scott Brown is Truckin’ Awesome!” bumpersticker on his pick-up told this RR reporter that “I shoulda just stayed in bed, man. If I had to do it over again I wood of. My vote didn’t even make a difference. It was an effin’ massacre, dude!”
Did you all know the dems rigged the rules for Kerry in 2004. The law said a governor could appoint a stand in, and that would do for the Dems who think law doesn’t apply to them- they anticipated a Kerry win and changed the law to suit their agenda, not the ‘peoples’ agenda, so Romney wouldn’t appt. a non-Dem for interim.
Well that sort of cancer bites one in the butt doesn’t it? As it had Teds scrambling to switch it back to the original law before his death. So the Dem gov. could put a lib in for obamacare.
Now they should have just left it, they might have had a better time getting the people to elect a Dem before Obama’s bill started decay the party before the worlds eyes.
However I think the Coakley letting a rapist of a child using a curling iron out for political play, and her dim-witted campaign and very poor record does not speak ‘winner’ to MA residents….

Brown Appears To Acknowledge “Curling Iron” Jeer
January 17, 2010 11:12 PM | Permalink | Comments (18) | Share This
In an appearance earlier today, MA state Sen. Scott Brown (R) appears to acknowledge a suggestion from a supporter who suggests an inappropriate location for a curling iron.
As Hotline OnCall reported earlier today, a Brown supporter at a West Springfield rally urged the GOP candidate to “shove a curling iron up [MA AG Martha Coakley’s] butt!”
In a video of the appearance obtained by Hotline OnCall, Brown seems to hear the remark and offer a brief smile, before continuing with his stump speech.
oh but scottie is such a hottie! heehee
vf, have you seen this?
pants on the ground redux
lol, just love this guy! sorry belle. haha
Ted Kennedy entered the Senate in a 1962 special election to fill the seat once held by his brother Senator John F. Kennedy, who had resigned the seat to become President of the United States after winning election of 1960. Benjamin A. Smith II, a Kennedy family friend, was appointed to succeed Kennedy, serving as a placeholder for Ted Kennedy, who at the time was too young to be constitutionally eligible for the seat. Ted Kennedy was elected to a full six-year term in 1964 and was reelected seven more times. The 1969 Chappaquiddick incident resulted in the death of automobile passenger Mary Jo Kopechne; Kennedy pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident, and the incident significantly damaged his chances of ever becoming President of the United States. His one attempt, in the 1980 U.S. presidential election, resulted in a primary campaign loss to incumbent Democrat Jimmy Carter.
Rosie—just filling in a blank for ya…lol
I’m headed to bed to hug my gun while I still am ALLOWED too by this corrupt government.
Man, Not even Texas is safe from this shit!!! Perry and our senators better do something about this or else ALL the states will suffer for this outrage.
Night all….
lisa, lol! gurl, sleep well.
Let’s just hope one of the Obama and Coakley 0peratives don’t mysteriously show up with thousands of “lost” absentee ballots!
I can smell desperation BIG TIME! Ahahhahah
lol warrantone, you funny gurl! we shall see what conspiracies transpire….
Up TOO early with Christmas=like excitement about the MA election. Is Santa here yet?
Warrant – Of course you are right. I am sure the Dems will slow things down demanding a recount. Then there is the problem of having the Senate seat him.
Pelosi thinks this will give her and Reid time to push health care through. I think not. Public outrage at undemocratic moves will stop it IMO.
In the interim, I am sure that OFA and the WH staff will kick things off with not just remarks about Brown but remarks about the Republicans that demonstrate this is an undeserved fluke of a win. In short, election 2010 after Brown really heats up.
