Mattel: Then there is the unveiling [pun intended] of Burka Barbie. Just what every little girl living under Sharia Law wants…

Possible options are:

  1. lack of educational opportunities
  2. being human property of a Taliban goat herder without even the status enjoyed by the goats
  3. no driver’s license
  4. Burka Barbie’s own personal stoning pit in case she becomes too westernized
  5. and of course, an Islamic Jihadist husband old enough to be her grandfather
  6. As an added Extra Bonus… sister wives who are also the married property of her Taliban husband.

    This video says it all!!
The “Multi-culturing’ of America has gone OVER the deep end.
Let them have their toys, but when it comes to trust and “Labeling”, let the TRUTH be told and called what it REALLY is.

Sales of Palin’s ‘Going Rogue’ Prompt Another Press Run

    By Susan Davis

Sarah Palin’s memoir just hit the stands today but demand for “Going Rogue: An American Life” is so strong that HarperCollins Publishers is going back to press for an additional 100,000 run, bringing the total number of hard-covers in print to 1.6 million copies.

Palin is using her political action committee, SarahPAC, to hawk books as well. In an email to supporters, the former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee, is asking for $100 donations in exchange for a signed copy.

“SarahPAC supporters make it possible to get out there and fight for what we believe in. Please stand with us today. We won’t let anyone tell us to sit down and shut up. We’re going to stand up, stand together, and fight for what’s right!” she writes.

The book’s release and latest round of media interviews and reignited speculation over whether or not Palin will run in 2012. “I’m concentrating on 2010,” she said Monday on The Oprah Winfrey Show. “It’s not on my radar screen right now.”

Don’t you think the Barbie in the middle is showing a little too much skin?

  6. Foxwood says:

HEY! Aren’t you supposed to be escorted by a male family member or your husband, Ken-dolli?

An auto dealer is coming under fire for posting a sign outside his business that questions if Obama is President or Jihad

  8. Oh my gosh, VF why must you be so prophetic?

That picture really pisses me off, I’m sure because it’s so true.

This whole American situation reminds me of two movies:

    The Post Man
    Planet of the Apes.

  9. arlenearmy says:

    This is one smart dog

  10. arlenearmy says:

the one in the middle is showing too much skin, probably because they are trying to appeal to the black muslims & black muslim women may not take too kindly to hiding their faces.

She’s probably portraying the wife of a pirate – Somalian.

  11. Foxwood says:

That’s funny, Arlene! I like that dog! 🙂

  12. Foxwood says:

Oh! I get it, Arlene! That’s her bathing suit for the Somali coast!

  13. Foxwood says:

You can show some skin when on the beach.

  14. arlenearmy says:

You think that dog can kick Obama’s dog’s arss ?

  15. Foxwood says:

HEY! You can’t wear that bathing suit in public!

  16. Foxwood says:

He’s little, but feisty… Yeah, I’d bet on the dog.

  17. arlenearmy says:

Its hard to believe that they would put a burka on Barbie. What have we become as a nation.

We are going backwards. American women have fought too hard for their rights, to be insulted like this.

The counterpart of Barbie is Ken. What kind of clothes are they gonna put on Ken?

  22. arlenearmy says:

Here’s the real supidity in the burka wearing.

    1. It obviously obstructs vision
    2. It restricts breathing
    3. In US, the drivers license place would ask the person to remove the face cover for snapping mug shot
    4. Banks wont allow such person to enter premises w/a face cover – regardless of religion; & a high powered rifle could be easily hidden

And Mattell was plum foolish in bowing to pressure to demoralize Barbie by portraying her as a Jihadist.

Raise up that Burka dress & lets see what’s underneath. She or HE could be strapped w/a suicide bomb.

  23. VotingFemale says:

It was a shot at the top brass of the US Army whose false political correctness lead to the slaughter of US Army Soldiers and civilians at Fort Hood by a protected Muslim Officer Jihadist…

In no way is it a slight against non-jihadi brained members of the US Army.

The brass-ass-hats hung us out to dry.

Arlene, I need to find a G.I. Jehadist Joe doll the Socialists can play with and pretend to mow down American soldiers… that is how warped their thinking is… they live in an upside down world …Where bad is good and good is bad…

  25. SamHenry says:

VF – unfortunately I edited (rough and it took me all day) my video in the windows movie maker. That produces a file with the wrong extension. There used to be a converter on the internet – do you know something? I missed the whole day because I wanted to get this up right away – Arlene has been waiting!

I try to covert who I can, and who won’t, let Darwin do his duty.

  27. Foxwood says:

Here is another K-FOX twin spin!

  28. samiam60 says:

Well I am back from changing tires and all that good stuff we do before the snow fly’s.

While I was gone has the World Gone Mad?

wtf, is this blog post Serious?

Please don’t tell me they are actually making a Burka Barbi !

Either this is a job blog post or this Country has done gone mad.

  29. arlenearmy says:

    My keyboard is glitchy today.

I sure am waiting on the video. When are you gonna post them? The more postings on the net in support of Palin, the better.

I read somewhere last night that Ft. Bragg changed their mind & will allow news media to come in for the Palin book signing. It was indicated that Ft. Bragg was afraid that Palin’s appearance on the post would be perceived by Obama as a dig against him as Commander-in-Chief.

I think that AP was the one who complained the loudest against Ft. Bragg for imposing the ban in the 1st place.

  30. Foxwood says:

Whiny AP and Lame Stream Media! Joke em if the can’t tale a f*ck!

  31. arlenearmy says:

I also read somewhere online last nite, that the ban came from the WH (behind the scenes); & that somebody was spinning it to put the blame on Ft. Bragg.

I need to go back to find that article. If Im not mistaken, I think I read it on News Busters.

  32. arlenearmy says:

I think it was the whiny WH & Obama. They tried to be slick in putting the blame on Ft. Bragg.

The Post installation commander of most Army posts is the one who gives the OK. But by Obama being commander-in-chief, he can over-ride the military post. And its apparent that is what Obama did.

Its no secret that Obama dont like Palin & vice versa. But it did appear that the initial decision was unfair to Palin by depriving the soldiers.

  33. arlenearmy says:

It does seem like a nightmare. This is what I woke up to this morning – Burka Barbie.

  34. Foxwood says:

Burka Barbie! Did your burka get caught up on the barbed wire fence and show your ankle?

  35. samhenry says:

Even CNN is investigating Landrieu’s “payoff” for her vote. How dumb to make concessions based on what is right in the bill!

These idiots in Congress need to be removed. Where is Darwin when you need him. They have killed private health care and jobs if this passes – dumb, dumb, dumb.

  36. Foxwood says:

Did little Ayani pull the burka off of Burka Barbie in front of another little girls Ken-dollie doll?

  37. Foxwood says:

SamH, Harry Reid made the Louisiana Purchase.

  38. Foxwood says:

Far as I’m concerned, I’m putting every effort I can to get Landrieu out of office.

  39. Foxwood says:

Her brother, Mitch is a whore, their father Moon was KKK. She is a corrupt bitch.

  40. Foxwood says:

    I just live Thunderclap…

  41. arlenearmy says:

She is doing a pay to play scheme. And they had the nerve to complain about Blago.

The stupid one in the bunch is Roland Burris. The only black in the Senate w/an Ace in his hand & he don’t know it. Reid & Durbin talked about him like a dog. If I was Burris, I would stir the pot on this. Burris needs to show Reid that he ain’t selling on the cheap.

Afterall, Burris is a lame duck & he needs to go out w/a big bang & splash on Headline news – “Burris Goes Rogue & votes Against Obamacare”. But we all know that Burris ain’t got the guts.

  42. Foxwood says:

“Burris Goes Rogue & votes Against Obamacare”

That would be something to see. I would pay for it.

  43. arlenearmy says:

I just dont understand why Landreiu would be so obvious. It sounds like prostitution. She wants the money for the vote.

That Vietnamese congressman (republican) was back peddling the other day when asked about any deals he made w/Obama. I guess, he forgot to get the money FIRST before he laid down.

  44. arlenearmy says:

If I was good at posting blogspot articles, I would make an open letter to Burris on the matter.

Somebody needs to pull his coat. He needs to make a name for himself while he is being phased out of politics in a disgraced manner. He can get his sweet revenge on Reid. Burris needs to be SMART.

  45. Foxwood says:

Arlene, you it the nail on the head. Landrieu prostituted herself out. She already knew what she was going to do. She knew she could make a deal on this vote.

  46. Foxwood says:

    “Burris needs to be SMART.”

If I get a chance I will do it. I’ve been busy. If VF can get to it before me, it’s her’s. Your right. Some one needs to point this out to him.

  47. Foxwood says:

Your girly song for the night. One of my favorites.

  48. Foxwood says:

Just got my wing chun dummy and punching bag up… I’m so sore. Trying to get back in shape. UGH!

  49. Foxwood says:

The band got together at one of the members houses before they were big. The girlfriend had a toy catalog out and the members were going though it. One of the toys was called the Steely Dan. The group was born.

  50. samhenry says:

This answers what happened to the Taliban videos on YouTube:

  51. VotingFemale says:

    This is directly from Youtube…

save your videos as either QuickTime .MOV, Windows .AVI, or .MPG files— these are the most common formats and they work well within our system. We specifically recommend the MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format at 640×480 resolution with MP3 audio. Resizing your video to these specifications before uploading will help your clips look better on YouTube.

  52. VotingFemale says:

I sent you email… but will ask here..

    what format is your video?

  53. samhenry says:

But HOW do your resize them, CAT?

  54. samhenry says:

The clips were avi; the completed “project” video created in Windows movie maker has an extension something like WMVM or something.

  55. VotingFemale says:

I asked first… what format is your video? lol

  56. VotingFemale says:

    Youtube accepts AVI format

  57. samhenry says:

Sorry, I’m busy eating my tail.

The extension cannot be changed by renaming. I need some kind of “mode” or other.

  58. VotingFemale says:

You mean your final edited and saved video is in .WMV format?

  59. samhenry says:

But the compilation of the strips in AVI is that Wmvm that is incompatible with youtube. I just tried to upload.

  60. samhenry says:

Yes, final edited and saved video is in wmv format.

  61. arlenearmy says:

That’s frightening think that Taliban is using our internet to push their agenda.

I was trying to find links mentioned in the video. Let me go check it out.

  62. VotingFemale says:

changing the extension of the file does not change the video format… hang on and let me go look for a converter

  63. samhenry says:

I thought there were four letters in my format extension but wmv will do.

  64. samhenry says:

Calarence – Greut Chat wood u peeeze luke four ze language conveurteur pour moi? SamHenri drihves moi craazee, u kno?

  65. VotingFemale says:

Samhenry, likely the saved format is .MSWMM

you need to verify this for me… no guessing dear! 😉

  66. samhenry says:

OK – have to go to my other computer. BRB

  67. Foxwood says:

Alice Cooper needs to come out for Sarah!

  68. VotingFemale says:

Using MS Movie Maker, You have to save your file as a DV-AVI file

To save it as a DV-AVI file in Movie Maker load up your project then go to File>Save Movie File.Choose the “My Computer” option and on the next screen enter a file name and directory to save it to.

Next choose your quality settings. If you’re not sure on what settings to use, just set it to “Best quality playback”. The quality will also determine file size of the clip, which you can see the estimated size of in the lower right corner.

YouTube only accepts clips no bigger than 100megs in size.

Likely what you did was save the ‘Project’ and did not ‘Export’ it to a video formatted file.

    1. import pic/video
    2. save to my computer
    3. choose place to save (i use the desktop)
    4. check “other settings” and select DV-AVI

  69. samhenry says:

I will have to split the vid into several segments. I think I know how to do it.

  70. VotingFemale says:

cool… there is a learning curve to everything… no biggie.

  71. Foxwood says:

My grand daughter said I have to put this on the blog.

  72. arlenearmy says:

those cats are unbelievable. they should had been on funniest videos for animals.

  73. Foxwood says:

It’s time we revisit some of our songs and listen to what they say.

  74. Foxwood says:

Arlene, I have two cats because my grand daugher asked me if I would keep a cat. Grand daughters melt your heart. I would hope to have no more grand children, but I don’t have that say. I can only hope to be a good Pepa, and teach them the real America.

  75. arlenearmy says:

I hope you are homeschooling the grand babies. We are living in dangerous times. Very dangerous!!

  76. VotingFemale says:

    Rambo Kitties!

    I LOVE IT!!!!

  77. Foxwood says:

With my job, Arlene, I can’t. I do my best when I babysit. My daughter and her bo are both atheists and Obama supporters. My grand daughter started asking me about God. I have some books that we talk about when she comes over. I’m not the most Godly man, but I’m a believer.

I’m afraid if she says something, I might not get to see her again. But I have to plant the seed, Arlene. It’s a chance I play. I have to hope I’m doing right.

  78. arlenearmy says:

we have a friend in town who have similar circumstances as yourself. He loves his grandbabies & his daughter & her boyfriend are obama lovers. They use the children like hostages.

They don’t even let him see the kids any more.

I am very sorry that you have to go thru all this w/the daughter. Its a sad situation.

  79. VotingFemale says:

More Socialists eating their own Tail… this time it is Chris Matthews making sex on Obama…

  80. Foxwood says:

It’s not bad yet Arlene, but I have the feeling that as soon as my daughter and her boyfriend know, I won’t get to babysit no more. She’s 11 now. I think she knows that she has to be quiet about what we talk about. But at 11, she’s still young and can say something and not know.

I will be the crazy grampa.

  81. arlenearmy says:

I think Matthews no longer feels the thrill for Obama. All Obama may have left is Keith Olberman.

Now that I think of it, I have not seen Obama talking on the news here lately. Is he sick w/the flu or something?

  82. arlenearmy says:

Im trying to remember who Atlay Stevens is. Chris Matthews mention this in the above video.

  83. Foxwood says:

Arlene, this is why I am the way I am about public school indoctrination. She is my heart and soul. I know what they teach in school. It hurts me. This isn’t my America.

  84. VotingFemale says:

Arlene… the socialists are imploding… and running like RATS…

  85. samhenry says:

    Here are the vids:

  86. arlenearmy says:

Surely the grandbaby is not forbidden to recite pledge of allegiance. Or sing God Bless America?

  87. arlenearmy says:

    Thanks SH
Im looking it right now directly on Youtube.

  88. Foxwood says:

I’m sorry Arlene, I’m done for the night. I don’t know what we’re in for, and it distresses me right now.

  89. VotingFemale says:

Great quality SamHenry? how many clips do you have?

  90. samhenry says:

Interview with a member of the international

  91. samhenry says:

I have five clips, and here comes clip four in a moment.

  92. samhenry says:

I’m glad the quality seems good. I was worried. It is my little canon elf!

  93. arlenearmy says:

I now listening to you interview the socialist

  94. samhenry says:

I’m good at interviewing socialists. I put them at ease. The words come easily for them and we get the info we need.

  95. VotingFemale says:

Too bad you didn’t get any video of Sarah.
But I am sure you had a good time in any event, SamH.

  96. VotingFemale says:

I am good at debating the asshats… ROFL

too bad the SEIU thugs were missing in action.
I dare say if they started beating up on conservative blacks they would have been mobbed by big strong conservatives, black and white who would have whupped up on their socialist asses. LOL

    samhenry says

    I’m good at interviewing socialists

  97. arlenearmy says:

The eye glasses the socialist is wearing looks like “private insurance” eye glasses.

Government eye glasse frames are not that attractive.

    Still viewing the videos.

  98. samhenry says:

You know, CAT, they just would not anyone near Sara with a camera and as I was shooting her at a distance, the security people made me move along.

I think the real story was in the crowds. They are Sarah Palin!

  99. arlenearmy says:

What security people? You mean the city cops?

  100. samhenry says:

No – it was private security and the store staff

  101. VotingFemale says:

SamH, I am sure you are telling it like it is about no cameras around Sarah…

If they did not have metal detectors in use, I think they should… she is hated enough to be assassinated.

  102. samhenry says:

I will shortly have a picture of me with Sarah and I will post it on my page.

  103. samhenry says:

They had no metal detectors. I had what was really a computer carrier on wheels with my wallet and snacks and a blankie and I had to leave it in an areas watched by security. I have to say I am glad this was in Rochester because it is a city that has, for the most part, people who will not run you down.

  104. samhenry says:

I could take my camera up to where she was if it was in my pocket. They realize cell phones are cameras so those had to be in your pockets as well.

  105. arlenearmy says:

You are right about the hated part. See, there are folks on the left who say that Beck was not at tea party in D.C. w/Michelle Bachman; and they are touting his supporters over this.

Beck has had threats on his life. It would had been a national tragedy if something bad happened to Beck at the tea party.

I pray for Palin’s safety on these book signing tours.

  106. samhenry says:

Things must not be too bad because her husband and Trig were with her and they went outside together. I missed them – I could not be everywhere although I did a good enough job of it. I interview everybody. I could have interviewed women in the rest room – they were all excited and talking.

  107. samhenry says:

Well, I thought of all of you as I took the pictures and was out to get you the flavor of the time. Here is a vid someone else uploaded onto youtube that shows when Todd took Trig outside. – I’m not so sure that is Todd – but looks like their youngest daughter was with him.

  108. arlenearmy says:

This is why I have been posting questions on website asking what kind of video camera Hannah & Okeefe used to bust Acorn. The question has yet to be answered.

If you had that sort of camera like Hannah & Okeefe, then you could had taken all sorts of videos in the store to capture Sarah on film.

  109. samhenry says:

That’s true, Arlene. But I’m the type that always gets caught. That is my fate.

I was just happy to capture the people who follow her and that have made her the electrifying candidate she is. You could see her being uplifted by the spirit of the event.

  110. samhenry says:

To tell the truth, there are times I wish I was not packing a camera because you really can relax and enjoy yourself without worrying about getting good shots.

  111. samhenry says:

FOX – cheer up. I know it seems as if we are at a cocktail party on the Titanic and have just run out of ice….

  112. arlenearmy says:

I’m happy for you that you got this opportunity of a life time. I wish I was there.

I hope she comes to Oklahoma.

Looks like Palin has her twitter up & running & she’s logging in travel notes

  113. samhenry says:

That’s wonderful that she is logging in travel notes. I wonder if there are any for Henrietta?

They really swifftly got her in the back door of the bookstore and no one saw her “outside” that I know. I was amazed that Todd and the kids came out.

  114. samhenry says:

In Rochester NY now;Piper & my Dad join us here, so more FUN arrives!Folks @ these events quote those 2 from the book more than me! Luv it!

  115. VotingFemale says:

Sorry I had to duck out for a bit… I envy your experience in a good way, SamHenry. and thank you for sharing your videos with us, dear.

  116. VotingFemale says:

Arlene, I think Sarah is too trusting… there are some seriously deranged and dangerous people on the left… who would as easily slit her throat as look at her…

I worry about her being so trusting…

  117. samhenry says:

Comment on a site for a local news station. I did not realize one of the protesters was arrested. When I photographed them there were only about 10 but the group grew to about25.

Really? The real losers were the 20 idiots at the curb where they belong running their mouths calling her a racist and sexist. (hmmm…ok) It was funny to watch one get arrested too.

I waited from 5:15am till 10:30am to get my armband in Rochester NY yesterday to get a book signed. 500-1000 were turned away once the armbands were gone. Then waited in line again from 6pm till 8:30 to get my books sign.

Well worth the wait. She ha a great personality I person. It was funny to watch one get arrested too.

  119. samhenry says:

CAT – not to worry because the people around her are very much on the alert and very protective. I have never see so much benign but firm control of a crowd. There were a lot of people surrounding her that were with her.

What amazed me was how really rather fragile looking she was and she is not a large woman. Of course she was sitting down! lol

I was happy to have a photo shoot assignment and I had a helluva time, really.

  120. arlenearmy says:

If any thing bad happen to Palin, it would be a sad day in America.

When somebody fired bullets at Lou Dobbs house, I did not hear the results of the investigation. The group that was bragging about they got Lou fired, didn’t think that they would be accused (via the internet amongst bloggers) of being responsible for instigating the shooting.

  121. samhenry says:

The group iBastaDobbs, a subdivision of another larger group may not have fired the shots but their aggressive actions may have had some kind of influence on whoever did do it.

  122. arlenearmy says:

Do you think Palin is losing weight? You said that she looked fragile.

  123. samhenry says:

I think this dragging from town to town on a bus must have got to her. She did look a littler thinner. But she is amazing – really amazing. There is a special aura around her. Say what you will about her politically, anyone who met her in person would be immediately struck by her person.

  124. arlenearmy says:

Well, every body I am gonna pack it in for the nite. I will finish up viewing the rest of SH’s Palin videos in the morning.

SH, be sure to let us know when you post up pix of you & Palin.

  125. samhenry says:

I firmly believe (I have heard liberals discussing this) that Obama has disappointed more people than the polls capture. When you stop to think about it, putting all of his plans out there in a large batch and so soon hastened the day of his downfall. He is totally known. Another President would have moved slowly and it would not have struck people what was really going on until later. Doing so much at once and trying to move things along has been his downfall. Oh, and the liberals I have heard talking are calling him a dictator as well. That seems to be the point that all agree upon.

  126. samhenry says:

I will let you know when I post THE picture the official photog took of me and Palin. I never had a pic taken of me all night – I was so focused on my “job.” Again – what a night. I had THE best time in a long time. Thanks Sarah.

    Goodnight everyone

  127. LisaInTX says:

WOW!! You got allot of great video. Sorry none of Sarah, but hey you got to meet and visit with her—that is AWESOME!!
I agree about the aura…..she radiates wholesomeness!!!
The punk protesters were few and lame. They matter about as much as a flea on a cat’s butt! lol Glad that you interviewed them so they could be heard—-now they can go back to their perverted lifestyle and feel they did something to hurt Palin’s popularity…lol

WASHINGTON – With more members of Congress extolling it and the news media reporting on it, the “Send Congress a Pink Slip” campaign experienced its best 72 hours period ever with over one million notices sent, putting the total number of ‘pink slips’ to more than 7 MILLION.

On Tuesday, four members of the House of Representatives hailed the program in a press conference, saying it is getting the attention of elected officials on both sides of the aisle.

The notices, if stacked vertically, would be more than four times as tall as the Washington Monument and almost as tall as the Burj Dubai, a super skyscraper under construction that will stand 2,684 feet tall. Laid out end-to-end, they would stretch 939 miles – from Washington, D.C., to Kansas City, Kansas.

  133. samhenry says:

Isn’t it amazing if you package the idea of defeating a politician at the next election as a “pink Slip” how it flies long and fast?

  142. LisaInTX says:

WASHINGTON – Moderate Senate Democrats threatened Sunday to scuttle health-care legislation if their demands aren’t met, while more liberal members warned their party leaders not to bend.

The dispute among Democrats foretells of a rowdy floor debate next month on legislation that would extend health care coverage to roughly 31 million Americans. Republicans have already made clear they aren’t supporting the bill.

Final passage is in jeopardy, even after the chamber’s historic 60-39 vote Saturday night to begin debate.

“I don’t want a big-government, Washington-run operation that would undermine the … private insurance that 200 million Americans now have,” said Sen. Ben Nelson, a conservative Nebraska Democrat.

Nelson and three other moderates — Democratic Sens. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana and Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas and Connecticut independent Joe Lieberman — agreed to open debate despite expressing reservations on the measure. Each of them has warned that they might not support the final bill.

One major sticking point is a provision that would allow Americans to buy a federal-run insurance plan if their state allows it. Moderates say they worry the so-called public option will become a huge and costly entitlement program and that other requirements in the bill could cripple businesses.

“I don’t want to fix the problems in our health care system in a way that creates more of an economic crisis,” said Lieberman.

NEW YORK – The five men facing trial in the Sept. 11 attacks will plead not guilty so that they can air their criticisms of U.S. foreign policy, the lawyer for one of the defendants said Sunday.

Scott Fenstermaker, the lawyer for accused terrorist Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali, said the men would not deny their role in the 2001 attacks but “would explain what happened and why they did it.”

The U.S. Justice Department announced earlier this month that Ali and four other men accused of murdering nearly 3,000 people in the deadliest terrorist attack in the U.S. will face a civilian federal trial just blocks from the site of the destroyed World Trade Center.

Ali, also known as Ammar al-Baluchi, is a nephew of professed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.

Mohammed, Ali and the others will explain “their assessment of American foreign policy,” Fenstermaker said.

“Their assessment is negative,” he said.

Fenstermaker met with Ali last week at the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. He has not spoken with the others but said the men have discussed the trial among themselves.

Fenstermaker was first quoted in The New York Times in Sunday’s editions.

Critics of Attorney General Eric Holder’s decision to try the men in a New York City civilian courthouse have warned that the trial would provide the defendants with a propaganda platform.;_ylt=Ar2s6Gs09_U5HCj4PBdYrz1v24cA;_ylu=X3oDMTJ0cHRqdnJhBGFzc2V0A2FwLzIwMDkxMTIzL3VzX3NlcHQxMV90cmlhbF9kZWZlbmRhbnRzBGNwb3MDMwRwb3MDMwRzZWMDeW5fdG9wX3N0b3JpZXMEc2xrA2xhd3llcjkxMWRlZg–

TEHRAN, Iran – Iran on Sunday began large-scale air defense war games aimed at protecting its nuclear facilities from attack, state TV reported, as an air force commander boasted the country could deter any military strike by Israel.

It said the five-day drill will cover an area a third of the size of Iran and spread across the central, western and southern parts of the country.

Gen. Ahmad Mighani, head of an air force unit in charge of responding to threats to Iran’s air space, said Saturday the war games would cover regions where Iran’s nuclear facilities are located.

The drill involves Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard, the paramilitary Basij forces affiliated with the Guard as well as army units.

The United States and its European allies accuse Iran of embarking on a nuclear weapons program. Iran denies the charge and insists the program is only for peaceful purposes.

Israel has not ruled out military action to stop Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

The commander of the Guard’s air force, Gen. Amir Ali Hajizadeh, meanwhile sought on Sunday to play down the significance of Israel’s threats against his country, saying they amounted to psychological warfare.

“We are sure they are not able to do anything against us since they cannot predict our reaction,” Hajizadeh was quoted as saying by the Guard’s official Web site, Sephahnews.

“If their fighter planes could escape from Iran’s air defense system, their bases will be hit by our devastating surface-to-surface missiles before they land,” he said.;_ylt=Av7P18SeVHq_e4zDLTAm2WVv24cA;_ylu=X3oDMTJrcmUzcjY0BGFzc2V0A2FwLzIwMDkxMTIzL21sX2lyYW5fd2FyX2dhbWVzBGNwb3MDNQRwb3MDNQRzZWMDeW5fdG9wX3N0b3JpZXMEc2xrA2lyYW5iZWdpbnN3YQ–

WASHINGTON — The government intercepted at least 18 e-mails between the alleged Fort Hood gunman and a radical Muslim cleric, and a key senator says there could be more communications that might have tipped off law enforcement or military officials.

Federal investigators say they intercepted the messages between the suspect, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, and Anwar al-Awlaki, a radical American-born cleric. They were passed along to two Joint Terrorism Task Force cells led by the FBI, but a senior defense official said no one at the Defense Department knew about the messages until after the shootings. The official spoke on condition of anonymity in order to discuss intelligence procedures.

Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., said Friday after a briefing from Pentagon and Army officials that his committee will investigate how those and other e-mails involving Hasan were handled and why the U.S. military was not made aware of them before the Nov. 5 shooting.

Levin said his committee is focused on determining whether the Defense Department’s representative on the terrorism task force acted appropriately and effectively.

Levin also said he considers Hasan’s shooting spree, which killed 13 and wounded more than 30, an act of terrorism.

“There are some who are reluctant to call it terrorism but there is significant evidence that it is. I’m not at all uneasy saying it sure looks like that,” he said.

Geeze, women just get their freedoms and those types would throw us back into the stone age (pun intended).

  168. samhenry says:

This came from a conference on the history of Muslims in America at the Woodrow Wilson Center. It is just part of their findings. One big point: Muslims in the US come from many countries.

Muslims in the United States have a complicated relationship with American society, but they also are in a unique position vis-à-vis the rest of the Muslim world. Osman Bakar followed up on Nasr’s luncheon address by noting the profound influence of “the most western wing of Islam;” i.e., American Muslim scholars such as Nasr, on intellectual activity in countries like Indonesia and Malaysia – “the most eastern wing of Islam.” English is increasingly important in the Islamic scholarly world, and both the language itself and the large number of students from Muslim countries studying on scholarships in the United States and other English-speaking countries make the ideas of U.S. scholars accessible abroad. The condition of Muslim women in the United States may hold particular lessons for Muslim women abroad, as Amina Wadud noted, though not strictly positive ones. In fact, though American Muslim women do benefit from the relative liberalization of shariah law in this country, they also suffer disadvantages: in the U.S., Islamic law mechanisms that ensure women’s support if a marriage fails are not enforced, but Islamic women are reluctant to utilize the more gender-inclusive American legal system. Although there have always been both men and women in Islam, men have been and remain the predominant articulators of what Islam is; Muslim women, here and abroad, are still identified in terms of their relationships to men. While the discipline of Muslim women’s studies has emerged in this country, it remains in its infancy, and Muslim women’s organizations concentrate on local social welfare concerns rather than empowerment. She urged the creation of a national umbrella Muslim women’s organization. Shifting perspectives, Scott Keeter presented the Pew Forum’s findings on how the American non-Muslim public views both Muslim Americans and Islam worldwide. The good news, he reported, is that Americans “responded to the [9/11] terrorist attacks with surprising equanimity, for the most part making important and subtle distinctions in its evaluations of Muslims.” His research yielded cautionary notes as well, however; for example, the public felt less favorably about Islam in general and Muslims in the world than they did about their American-Muslim neighbors. Younger people and those with higher levels of education have more positive attitudes toward Muslims, but 65% of Americans still say they have little knowledge of Islam.
