    Osahma predicts Obama’s Fall ! 🙂

Al Qaeda released a 106-minute Arabic language video Tuesday titled “The West… and The Dark Tunnel” featuring Al Qaeda’s second in command Ayman al-Zawahiri predicting the downfall of Barack Obama.

During the documentary-style video to mark the ninth anniversary of the attacks of September 11, Al Qaeda leaders comment on events in the past year such as the U.S. presidential elections, the global financial meltdown, and the latest on jihadist movements around the world.

“America has come in a new, hypocritical face. Smiling at us, but stabbing us with the same dagger that Bush used,” said Zawahri in the message.

“God willing, your end will be at the hands of the Muslim nation, so that the world and history will be free of your crimes and lies,” he said addressing Obama at the end of the two-part video.

In addition to Zawahiri, other Al Qaeda leaders speaking in the video include Mustafa Abu al-Yazid, Attiya Allah, Abu Yahya al-Libi, and Adam Gadahn.

As in the past, Al Qaeda attempted to conflate Obama with his predecessor, George W. Bush, who was widely disliked by Muslims for his invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq.

Many analysts believe that Al Qaeda has been alarmed by Obama’s comparative popularity in the Middle East, especially following his landmark speech to the Muslim world in Cairo in June.

Adam Gadahn, also known as Azzam al-Amriki, an American who grew up in southern California and converted to Islam and joined Al Qaeda, also speaks on the election of Obama. Gadahn was charged with treason in 2006 and there is a $1 million reward for information leading to his arrest or conviction.

Gadahn’s remarks celebrating the defeat of Bush and ridiculing Obama suggest the video was made in late August or early September.

“The important question is will Obama and his Democrats learn from his predecessor’s mistakes or will they go on repeating them until they too leave office in humiliation and disgrace,” said the heavily bearded American, dressed in a white robe.

“Unfortunately for the Democrats, and judging by their first seven-and-a-half months at the helm of the sinking American ship, the prognosis doesn’t look good,” he said.

The message included a lengthy section on U.S. prisons and torture facilities and showed footage of what appeared to be an American torturing an Afghan for information by dunking his head into a bucket of water.

The SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors extremist Web sites, identified the person conducting the torture as Jonathan Keith Idema, who also appeared in last year’s Al Qaeda video.

The message also discussed the progress of the various jihadi movements around the world, in particular Taliban victories against U.S. forces in Afghanistan.

The video’s strident anti-American tone and detailed enumeration of what it describes as the U.S. crimes was in sharp contrast to the earlier bin Laden message, which appeared to be an appeal to the American people to sever their ties with Israel and end the war with Al Qaeda.

Georgia congressman: Wilson’s outburst ‘carefully calculated’

CNN and the FRINGE MEDIA CONTINUE ON AGAINST “JOE WILSON” AS AN ACT OF DESPERATION.
THEY ARE EXPOSED FOR WHAT THEY ARE: “LIARS”

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Rep. Hank Johnson is standing by his comments that Rep. Joe Wilson’s “You lie!” outburst at President Obama “instigated more racist sentiment” and could lead to a resurgence of the Ku Klux Klan.

Johnson, a Georgia Democrat, wrote in the Atlanta Journal Constitution on Monday that he doesn’t think that most of Obama’s opponents are motivated by racism, but that he believes Wilson’s comments “winked at a racist element” and that there is a small but “racially motivated fringe” among those who disapprove of the president and his policies.

“Wilson is a canny politician,” Johnson said. “His outburst was a carefully calculated appeal to a particular constituency who question the legitimacy of Barack Obama’s presidency. The symbolism of his act, which violated the rules of the House and attacked the dignity of the president’s office, emboldened and validated those who believe that President Obama, despite having been lawfully elected, is an illegitimate occupant of the White House.”

Johnson said that some feel “resentment that the president of the United States is a black man” and that the “risk of violence is real.” He said he believes some of the angry protests during town hall meetings over the summer were also motivated by racism and warned that if that element of some opposition is ignored, it will “fester, grow and come back to haunt us in ways we haven’t seen in decades.”

Budget chief contradicts Obama on Medicare costs
    By ERICA WERNER (AP) –

WASHINGTON — Congress’ chief budget officer is contradicting President Barack Obama’s oft-stated claim that seniors wouldn’t see their Medicare benefits cut under a health care overhaul.

The head of the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, Douglas Elmendorf, told senators Tuesday that seniors in Medicare’s managed care plans would see reduced benefits under a bill in the Finance Committee.

The bill would cut payments to the Medicare Advantage plans by more than $100 billion over 10 years.

Elmendorf said the changes would reduce the extra benefits that would be made available to beneficiaries.

Critics say the plans are overpaid, while supporters say they work well.

Obama says cuts to Medicare providers won’t reduce seniors’ benefits.

    Secretary slams political ‘trash talk’
LaHood blames drop in civility on hosts of radio, cable shows
    Wednesday, September 23, 2009
    By Joe Hallett

A Republican member of President Barack Obama’s cabinet blistered conservative talk-radio hosts and cable-television news yesterday, saying they have eroded civility and impeded the nation’s ability to solve big problems.

Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood told The Dispatch that the level of “harsh discourse in Washington has probably reached an all-time high,” and he partly blamed it on “all of this trash talk about the process and about politicians 24/7” on cable television and talk radio.

LaHood referred to criticism Obama received for appearing Sunday on five television news shows to promote his health-care overhaul. The secretary also indicated that even the president’s bully pulpit is no match for the cacophony over the airwaves from the political right.

“He can’t even compete with all this stuff that people are saying about him, so the idea that he did five interviews on Sunday, that’s just minuscule compared to the kind of trash talk that goes on all week prior to that,” LaHood said.

“All of this background, all of this trash talk in the background, it does not contribute to civil discourse, and it does not contribute to the government or the country’s ability to solve big issues.”

LaHood made his comments while in town to tout the benefits for Ohio of the federal economic-stimulus bill. LaHood, a former 14-year member of the U.S. House from Peoria, Ill., is one of two Republicans serving in Obama’s cabinet. (Defense Secretary Robert Gates is the other.)

A moderate known for his ability to get along with both parties in Congress, LaHood was chosen to preside over the 1998 House impeachment vote of then-President Bill Clinton, and he voted to impeach.

LaHood is the second high-ranking Republican in the past dozen days to decry the influence of conservative talk-show hosts on civil political discourse.

On Sept. 11, retired longtime Ohio GOP Chairman Robert T. Bennett told the state party’s governing board that the party should stand up against “some of our talking heads” who led the opposition to Obama’s televised speech to schoolchildren or risk “losing the battle with middle America.”

Bennett singled out Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. Yesterday, LaHood named them and Fox News commentator Sean Hannity for diminishing civility. In the rural central-Illinois congressional district LaHood used to represent, he said, Beck, Limbaugh and Hannity dominate the daytime airwaves.

“Now, when you get farmers picking their corn and beans, driving around in their (tractor) cabs listening to, from 9 to 3, these guys all revved up against Obama, against everything that he’s trying to accomplish, that gets people stirred up. They’re making an enormous amount of money by trashing politicians and trashing the process.”

Referring to cable TV news shows, LaHood said, “Look, you know as well as I do that there’s not enough news for 24 hours, so what happens is that these channels keep repeating politicians yelling at one another or people that are all exercised, and that gets people all revved up.

“And it also gives the idea that maybe these politicians don’t know what they’re doing.”

Asked whether he envisions any changes in the media that might reverse the trend of incivility, LaHood replied, “In a word, no. Unless the people decide that the way, you know, (is) to shut it off, turn it off.”
