Obama Job Approval Rating Index hits Minus Three!

Obama Job Approval Rating Index hits Minus Three!

Ohhh… what a marvelous time
for Sarah Palin to change the game!

Rasmussen Reports that not only has Obama’s Job Approval Index flattened… it continues to go lower. And, today marks its lowest point to date. It sets squarely at Minus 3.

See the numbers at Obama Job Approval Index Hits New All Time Low of minus 3!

Don’t you just love the Socialists and those in the GOP who fear Sarah’s personal appeal and political power?

Among GOP/Conservative Voters, Sarah’s base Approval Rating is 70%. Think that alarms the political machines of GOP Presidential Hopefuls? They are shaking in their boots… and can only wish Sarah would just go away.

Goodness… Sarah has made the next move. In a game of Chess it is like an unanticipated and unpredicted move that just took the opponent’s Queen and put their King in Check. Socialists and GOP Opponents alike are reeling as if they just received a jolt of lighting.

Sarah Palin, instead of PREDICTING what is going to happen as to Obama’s fall from his Media Created Sainthood, is  now quoting hard data, chapter and verse, as to his falling and failing policies and to the extraordinary earth shaking damage he is doing to the United States therefore the entire Free World.

Sarah has short circuited the Long Fanged Socialist Trolls who thought they had her tightly within their claws where they could politically chew away on her at their leisure while their Enchanted One became more popular than Jesus. They wont stop attacking her but they have lost their grip on her.

Problem is… Obama is Obama’s Worse Enemy.

Problem is… Sarah Palin is Obama’s Worst Nightmare.

The Washington Elite, including the Washington Media Pundits, are desperately trying to pigeon hole Sarah into their Business As Usual Washington Politics Model of what a politician can and can not do… must and mustn’t do, as if people around the country actually give a crap what they think.

What matters is what people think… and Palin, pulling nets wearing her hip waders while being interviewed by Andra Mitchell, is far more powerful than Obama using his Teleprompter in front of his hand picked Town Hall Audience SELLING his Obama Health Care Snake Oil on the heels of the Democrat Majority House of Representatives passing his Cap & Trade Energy Tax on All Americans to solve a non-existent Global Warming “Problem…” the biggest single tax increase in the history of Human Kind.

I confidently predict Sarah Palin is breaking the mold of what the Washington Elite dictates a Politician can and can not do… must and mustn’t do and is shocking the world with her boldness, freshness, and her ability to speak without a script scrolling on a teleprompter. This woman has selfless principles… wow… what a concept for a politician.

And then there is Al Gore calling everyone a Nazi who opposes the Cap & Trade Bill. Get a grip

You Are All A Pack of Nazis!

You Are All A Pack of Nazis!

Gee, Albert… you seem to be foaming at the mouth like the Socialist Rabid Dog you are.

Be prepared for witnessing Sarah Palin Unleashed!

Be prepared to continue witnessing
Obama falling inch by inch on his own Sword!

Morning! Wow, Gore must be going to an uncomfortable place after this life… to call people “nazis” in order to earn a billion dollars from owning his “Carbon Credit” companies is probably worthy of an 11th Commandment.

  2. m2 says:

Sarah Palin’s resignation and Mark Sanford’s downfall have renewed the media meme that the GOP is “leaderless,” therefore doomed. Google “Republican leaderless” and you get more than 300,000 results.

The GOP has very real problems, but this one is mainly hype. In American politics, the -party that is out of power is naturally leaderless. The United States does not have a parliamentary system with one person heading the opposition. In our system of federalism, bicameralism, and separated powers, the party that does not hold the presidency has many voices. In search of drama, however, journalists depict this normal state of affairs as if it were a terminal crisis. They have been doing so for a very long time.

Early in the Eisenhower administration, Time magazine used similar language: “Seven months after the great defeat, the Democratic Party is disorganized, in debt and leaderless.” It quoted one Democrat as complaining of the party’s “intellectual anemia” and “almost total collapse of the . . . organization.”

    etc etc etc…

  3. m2 says:

Bill Clinton’s 1992 victory put the Democrats back in power and the GOP back in the “leaderless” box. Right after the 1992 election, one representative observation came from a Knight-Ridder reporter: “Republicans face civil war in their party. Leaderless now and dispirited, Republicans are bracing for a nasty struggle among their contentious factions.”

During the George W. Bush presidency, the Democrats were “leaderless” again. A Gannett story on the 2002 midterm election noted: “Democrats are in disarray and leaderless, with no compelling vision for America.” After Bush’s reelection, Newsweek’s Howard Fineman wrote: “The Democrats are leaderless and reeling, seemingly bereft of inspiring ideas.” A few months later, he returned to the theme: “Leaderless and intellectually rudderless, the Democrats are desperate for issues, and they have decided (to the extent there is a ‘they’) to make a piñata of [Tom] DeLay.” Even after Katrina, The New Republic’s Ryan Lizza said: “Democrats are, at the moment, leaderless. There are few Democrats who command enough attention to make the party’s case to the country.”

    vf, excellent post!

I think Sarah should do a talk show. She could possibly have much more influence in the private sector. Wow. She could make a lot of money too. Why swim up stream when you can go with the flow? She’ll be drowning in greenbacks. I bet her family would be happy. And she’ll be able to pay off all those legal fees.

I thought it funny that she had an NBC tee shirt on.

Sure is beautiful “up there in Alaska”….

  7. rosehips says:

    hey m2!

I think we need a third party. The Republican party is too disparate and the Dems aren’t unified either. I think there is a possibility that there could be a majority party in the center.

  8. VotingFemale says:

    Thank You…

I think Sarah already knows what she is going to do… and having a radio talk show is not one of them.

Conservatives have Rush for that! lol

I think she could do a lot of damage to Obama if she had a t.v. talk show. She seems burnt out on politics and I don’t blame her. I bet her family is too. I know she likes to swim upstream, but if I were her, I’d do what comes naturally. I’m not exactly sure what that is.

It looks like ol Colin Powell may be having some second thought about his buddy President Obama.

    July 05, 2009
    Categories: Miscellany

Powell cautions Obama to take it slow

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell cautioned President Obama to slow down his ambitious agenda, out of concern for spiraling budget deficits.

Obama is hoping to pass legislation that would overhaul the health care system and implement a cap-and-trade energy program — in the face of a recession and significant budget deficits.

“I think one of the cautions that has to be given to the president — and I’ve talked to some of his people about this — is that you can’t have so many things on the table that you can’t absorb it all. And we can’t pay for it all,” Powell said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“I think the president, as he moves forward with his initiatives, has to start really taking a very, very hard look at what the cost of all this is,” Powell said. “And how much additional bureaucracy and will it be effective bureaucracy be needed to make all of this happen.”

More Powell: “I never would have believed that we would have budgets that are running into the multi-trillions of dollars, and we are amassing a huge, huge national debt that, if we don’t pay for in our lifetime, our kids and grandkids and great grandchildren will have to pay for it.”

Powell said he met with Obama “not too long ago” and said he holds a “very good” relationship with the president. Powell added that he hasn’t decided whether he will be supporting Obama for re-election in 2012.

One thing I failed to mention about Governor Palin and AK.
It was mentioned that AK is doing better than other states. AK has more resources than other states. I think there is a lot of disparity among Alaskans about how their resources should be developed. They should concentrate on what is sustainable and avoid what is too damaging to the environment. They should never compromise the purity of their water for a temporary spike in well paying jobs. They should look at the long term viability of the wilderness and how much future wealth they have there.

  35. Neil says:

The Liberals hate and fear Palin so much it is funny. If Obama had lose would we have wasted two sentences on Biden? Of course not. But Palin frightens them and they think she must be destroyed. Fortunately for us the Democrats often overplay their hands.

We can make more fish… we can put back in the mountain what was taken out… we can restore a little lake to it’s previous depth.

  38. VotingFemale says:

Things have to be done in balance… and zealotry aside… it all has to make sense at the 10,000 foot altitude.

a restockable stickleback population in a little lake is not a grey whale pod… nor a blue whale pod nor an Orca pod.

  39. rosehips says:

sigh. vf, if only I was confident that the lakes that are killed can be restored after they are filled with toxic tailings. I don’t know if it’s been done successfully before. Personally, I would not have wanted to be that busy when my kids were young. I felt strongly that it was good to be home with them and I cherish the years I spent with my kids always close. But Sarah Palin’s kids are not starved for attention or affection. They seem to have a very strong family. Reality is that women can’t devote as much time to the kids as we’d like and families adapt. At least some do. Sarah Palin knows how to adapt. That is clearly evident.

vf, back in January the Supreme Court spent an hour debating whether the tailings were toxic or not. The environmentalists consider them toxic. The mine owners consider them benign. I know who I trust more…

I got this from an article on mineweb:

“Justice David Souter expressed his dismay that if it’s proper for Coeur d’Alene mines “to do what they’re doing here [using Lower Slate lake for tailings disposal], then the lake in the middle of the Everglades is an impoundment area, or a Great Salt Lake is an impoundment area.”

Garre responded that “at the end of this project, when the lake is going to be reclaimed, the agencies determined that it’s going to be environmentally as sound, if not superior, for the habitats in Alaska, fish and wildlife.” However, Souter replied, “My problem is that you’re treating-the Corps is treating as an impoundment area a whole natural lake as distinct from a settling basin.”

The justice complained that “during the period in which the deposits are going to be made, the natural life of this water body is going to be destroyed.”

“You are simply, or the Corps is simply, defining what would otherwise be a pollutant, suspended solids discharged into the water, by calling it fill material,” he observed.”

    In other news…

WASHINGTON — Vice President Biden has announced a White House deal with the hospitals to help pay for President Obama’s overhaul of health care.

Biden made the announcement Wednesday morning at the White House with hospital administrators and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. Biden said “reform is coming.”

Biden said the hospitals are ready to give up about $155 billion over 10 years in government payments. The money could then be used to help pay for covering millions of uninsured.

Despite the deal, some Democrats are rebelling over taxing generous health insurance benefits to pay for any overhaul, jeopardizing bipartisan legislation in the Senate and Obama’s ambitious timetable.

  75. SamHenry says:

I’m going to be late doing everything but no matter, I HAVE to say something about wind generation because I researched it to go against wind farms in inappropriate places here. SOLAR, SOLAR, SOLAR I say.

Wind machines do indeed decimate large populations of birds especially when in or near flyways.

Wind machines are dangerous in winter because they toss ice chunks at incredible speeds in all directions.

    Wind machines are NOISY.

It is unclear who will maintain these machines once they are installed on, say, a farm. The farmers are sucked in by the money but then what. Local communities don’t think about these things.

Have you ever seen how much gas in wasted just getting one of these giants to a site? It takes about 4-5 large bed haulers.

There is what is called a wind map of the US. there are precious few places where the machines are truly effective – another reason not to rely on them to pull us out of our mess. On that map – California, the middle of the country down through Texas and portions of the North East such as Western New York and parts of New England are prime spots as I recall. It’s been a long time since I looked at the map.

So, the average environmentalist needs to do his/her homework on these things and they may change their “air”ias (tunes).

Rose – about airplanes -think about it – they fly a lot higher than birds. Further, the air intake on jets is not the hazard of a large windmill.

Most birds now avoid airports. However, those monster windmills are out there chopping day and night.

  90. SamHenry says:

As for jet fuel – they are making jets more fuel efficient although the F-16s practicing for the air show that are circling my home are Vietnam era craft and they are not fuel efficient – just entertainment efficient – especially when they do whatever it is called to make a lot of noise. Now that annoys me and the birds. You should see them shake theys little heads.

  91. rosehips says:

sh, thank you but I said earlier that I was hoping to get my feathers ruffled. It is so boring when we all agree.

what I am trying to say is that if Kensington Mine can reclassify their tailings as “fill” then other mining operations can file suit. Normally the Army Corps of Engineers is not involved unless they are dumping construction materials into bodies of water to do some sort of reconstruction of levees and the like. To involve them in a project and gain their complicity and then getting the Supreme Courts complicity to me stinks like all the dead fish that will end up in Slate Lake. I hope they at least scoop them all out and compost them and turn them into fish fertilizer. That is good stuff and its organic.

  92. rosehips says:

    toxic
    Adjective
    1. poisonous: toxic fumes
    2. caused by poison: toxic effects [Greek toxikon (pharmakon) (poison) used on arrows]

Calling inert mine tailings toxic is making stuff up.

A toxin, such as snake venom, is a poison.

Calling non toxic land fill, from the inside of a mountain, poison is nonsense and that is why Enviro-Zealots ruin their credibility.

  96. SamHenry says:

Rose – Army Corps of Engineers can’t afford to get caught up in something that would not only be less than truthful but harm their reputation. Their reputation is on the line most of the time anyway. Why add to it.

The fact is that science is science – the scientific method of which archaeologists are aware has been in place for centuries. In this case, it proved lack of toxicity. Everyone knows that different areas produce different geological profiles. One cannot possibly take the Alaskan mine tailing case and use it as a precedent elsewhere. And remember, these things do go to court. The world will never be set up in such a way the precedent protects all similar situations.

  97. rosehips says:

sh, when I lived up north on my mountain, our place was in the flight path for jetfighters from Whidby Island who did maneuvers over our place and over the Columbia River Valley. oh boy, were they ever loud. One time during garlic harvest one flew right over our heads. It was so low that one of our workers ducked. It was quite amazing.

I always got a thrill from the jets when they were flying. The noise never really bothered me. It was fun.

  98. SamHenry says:

    Rose has said:

sh, perhaps they should build the windmills higher in the sky. How bout 10000 ft? 😉

Earth to Rose – come in for a landing, girl!

  99. rosehips says:

    definition of poison:
1 a: a substance that through its chemical action usually kills, injures, or impairs an organism b (1): something destructive or harmful (2): an object of aversion or abhorrence
2: a substance that inhibits the activity of another substance or the course of a reaction or process

  100. SamHenry says:

Rose – IMO – best not to plant garlic on mountain tops. It will not save you from vampires nor noise.

I have the same incongruous relationship with jet noise – with any noise. How about a wind mill on top of that mountain instead of say, garlic?

As the cat would screech – I’m not sure I can do it:

Hahee-Hacking cough – HA Ha – – aw heck – just can’t do the cat calls.

Would that include the Morning After Pill?

  102. rosehips says:

one thing I am not for certain. What exactly is going to kill the fish? Is it exposure to toxins? Will the tailings injure the fish’s gills. I will need to research this….

Emanuel faces liberal pressure over ‘trigger’ comments
    Posted: 02:05 PM ET

White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel came under fire from MoveOn Tuesday.
WASHINGTON (CNN) — The president’s health care reform package — which has faced resistance from conservatives who oppose a public insurance option — came under attack from liberals yesterday, with most of the fire focused on White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.

Emanuel’s apparent suggestion in a Wall Street Journal article published Tuesday that the White House would be willing to consider a “trigger” clause on a public option — to delay full implementation of the plan if insurance companies met certain conditions on coverage and cost — drew outrage from liberal members of Congress and MoveOn.org, which has poured millions of dollars into a campaign supporting the president’s health care proposal.

Progressive Caucus co-chair Rep. Raúl Grijalva of Arizona immediately sent a letter to President Obama denouncing the idea. And MoveOn — which has launched ad campaigns in recent weeks pressuring equivocal senators to support the president’s plan, and a public option — quickly turned its criticism on the White House.

“Can you call the White House switchboard and tell them you’re disappointed in Chief of Staff Emanuel’s comments supporting the ‘trigger’?” MoveOn asked in a message sent to supporters Tuesday. The e-mail included the number for the White House switchboard. “Tell them voters want a strong public health insurance option-not half-measures like the ‘trigger.'”

Within hours, the president issued a statement from Moscow that did not mention the controversy, but stressed his support for a public option. The statement did not specifically mention — or rule out — the use of a “trigger.”

“I am pleased by the progress we’re making on health care reform and still believe, as I’ve said before, that one of the best ways to bring down costs, provide more choices, and assure quality is a public option that will force the insurance companies to compete and keep them honest,” he said. “I look forward to a final product that achieves these very important goals.”

Yesterday afternoon, Emanuel himself headed to Capitol Hill, where he heard complaints from liberal lawmakers. The idea of a trigger option is popular with conservative Democrats — but according to Roll Call, legislators the chief of staff met with yesterday told him its inclusion in a final health care package would cost the proposal their support, sinking the measure.

House Energy and Commerce Chairman Henry Waxman said Emanuel had said what members were hoping to hear. “He doesn’t stand by the trigger,” Waxman told Roll Call. “He said the president and his administration and he are for a public plan as one of the options.”

    Hello Arlene.

  171. rosehips says:

    hi Arlene,

I hope for their sake they can find someone who can unite the party. That is what they need. Who to do it, that’s the big q. I can’t think of anyone, can you?

  172. samiam60 says:

I think that by 2012 anyone who runs will be able to beat Obama. Even Putin had to lecture our President on the cold war history. Talk about inexperience. Gheeeeezzzzzzzzz.

  173. rosehips says:

sounds like the Obama’s team is maybe backpedalling on health care. They are bending to pressure.
How are they gonna get any guarantees from the insurance industry? Will they “cross their hearts and hope to die”? lol

  174. samiam60 says:

Of course now that Obama has stated that the US would never under any circumstance us Nulear Weapons it is open season on America.

  175. rosehips says:

sami, the fact that Putin lectured Obama does not detract from Obama one bit. Putin had an agenda. Obama was probably being polite and possibly learned something from Putin. Perhaps Putin was able to enlighten him on some crucial points. It would be an act of arrogance to assume that Putin has nothing valuable to teach. I hope that Obama listened respectfully and acted cordially. I hope they made some progress in improving relations and the security of our world. It’s an impossible task, but I will give Obama credit for trying. I don’t know if anything will really work.

  176. rosehips says:

did Obama state that sami? that we will never use nuclear weapons? when was that?

  177. rosehips says:

    gotta go get some lunch….

  178. samiam60 says:

yes he did and I heard it myself on TV. I don’t have a link to it but I am sure it is out there. Also it is a sad day when an American President gets lectured by a Communist, PERIOD.

  179. arlenearmy says:

hello telit, sami & rose. i’ve been outside picking cucumbers & watching news. we got rain !!!!

  180. samiam60 says:

By the way, the Putin Lecture to Obama was not a conversation and it went on for over one Hour.
That is humiliating for anyone let alone the President of the United States. Even Carter could have done better in this situation.

  181. samiam60 says:

Arlene did you hear anything about Obama stating he would never use Nuclear weapons?

  182. arlenearmy says:

    Sami
I must had missed that part of Obama’s remarks. I do recall him saying that he would reduce nuclear.

  183. rosehips says:

sami, you are listening to the pundits too much. You failed to point out that half the “lecture” was taken up in translation.

Your dismissiveness of Putin because he is a Communist (do you know what party he belongs to?) shows your unwillingness to accept diplomatic solutions to foreign affairs. If we dismiss everyone who doesn’t follow the ideologies that you embrace, we might as well build a 20 foot wall around the entire border of the US and construct a missile defense system “to die for”.

    got your bomb shelter secured?

sami said: Also it is a sad day when an American President gets lectured by a Communist, PERIOD.

  184. arlenearmy says:

    Sami
Obama was a hesitate on using force via sniper shots against the Somalian terrorists who attacked our flag ship & held captain hostage. He’s sheepish on water-boarding. So it would be a big stretch for him to want nuclear weapons.

  185. arlenearmy says:

    Rose
Do you want to share a fox hole with Obama ?

  186. rosehips says:

here you go sami, I’m throwing you a bone…from the Washington Post:

Sen. Barack Obama ruled out using nuclear weapons against Osama bin Laden or terrorist cells in Afghanistan and Pakistan on Thursday, a promise that quickly became part of the escalating debate among Democratic candidates over national security.

“I think it would be a profound mistake for us to use nuclear weapons in any circumstance,” Obama said, when asked if there were any circumstance in which he would use nuclear weapons against Afghanistan or Pakistan. He then added that he would not use such weapons in situations “involving civilians.”

“Let me scratch that,” he told an Associated Press reporter after emerging from a meeting on Capitol Hill. “There’s been no discussion of nuclear weapons. That’s not on the table.”

    http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2007/08/02/obama_rules_out_nuclear_weapon.html

  187. rosehips says:

I am glad that Obama will not use nukes. I am not sure it’s a good idea to let everyone know that though…

  188. samiam60 says:

My point Rose is that our President was Lectured not talked to by the Russian Putin. Big difference there. It was the attitude of Lecturing our President that is the issue here.

  189. rosehips says:

arlene, lol @ sharing a foxhole with Obama. I think that would be uncomfortable. But then again, Obama’s fox hole will probably be pretty “pimped out” I hope it has a private bathroom. I don’t like the idea not having privacy when I’m hiding from the enemy. I tend to need to “go” more when I’m nervous. hahaha

  190. samiam60 says:

If our Country is ever attacked during Obamas tour you can bet our military will over ride his orders and launch a retalitory attack against any country that launches against us. It is called Deterence.

  191. samiam60 says:

Hey Rose if you want to find Obama’s secret fox hole just call Biden

  192. rosehips says:

sami, ok. i get your point. I guess Obama should have stopped him if he indeed was “lecturing” and told him to stop. Then he should have taken a slug of vodka and a bite of rugalah and changed the subject to the new world order.

  193. samiam60 says:

    Rose says:

Awhhh, Rose, He should have been a President and stopped the Lecture in its tracks and yelled we will bury you. Just kidding, Putin did what he did because he knew he could get away with it. Obama’s weakness is world renouned now.

  199. SamHenry says:

Hi Arlene, Sami and Rose – this is a quick data dump. The energy situation is complex but shifting. Note that wind is less popular than solar.

    From the Financial Times today:

This is an article primarily about BP

    Back to petroleum

    By Ed Crooks

The figure indicates the markets think that BP has no prospect of long-term growth.

Industry trends suggest those fears are well founded. Western oil groups face pressure from assertive governments of resource-rich countries, and from ambitious rivals emerging in China, Russia and Brazil. BP and other western “majors” are being driven to the most difficult, high-cost reserves, such as Canada’s oil sands.

They are also beginning to run up against “peak demand”. As a result of the rise of biofuels and improvements in energy efficiency, oil consumption in developed countries may have passed its peak. Demand will continue to rise in emerging economies such as China, but western companies find it harder to operate in these markets.

“This recession has brought forward the point at which demand for one of our principal products, gasoline, will probably be in terminal decline in mature markets,” Mr Hayward says. “So one of the tasks is to figure out how we reposition our business to access more of the growth.”

A year ago, it looked as though he too thought renewable energy would be an important part of the answer. It starts from a lower base but is growing faster than oil and gas: by more than 10 per cent a year for wind and more than 20 per cent for solar during 2006-30, even without any additional incentives, according to projections by the International Energy Agency.

Many renewables are not profitable without subsidy, but governments are increasingly committed to them, most notably in the US. A global deal to curb greenhouse gas emissions at the United Nations climate change conference in Copenhagen in December would provide fresh impetus for all forms of low-carbon energy.

Fiona Paulus, head of energy at Royal Bank of Scotland, argues that a fundamental shift in the world’s energy supplies is coming. “A hundred years ago, the world’s fuel was primarily coal. Today it is oil. In the future, it will be renewable energy. By 2050, perhaps 50 per cent of our energy will be non-carbon-based.”

I found this watchdog group (Pro Publica) that is doing some fine work. Here is a place where they have compiled the Obama’s team disclosure records all in one place. The Obama admin. will only give you the details of each agency separately so this is handy if you want to look into the financial statements of the different agencies. It also includes ethics letters too.

Rose – this is your conscience speaking. We had discussed in an EM all you had to do today. I don’t think you are multi-tasking are you? Remember, we made a pact – we need to get the rest of our lives in sinc with online. Sorry to be a wet blanket. I just want you to be ultimately happy.

thank you sh for the information on peak oil demand in decline in developed countries.

We need to do more to decrease the demand for petroleum in America.

which reminds me…I have to pay my car insurance premium. arghhh. I only drive my car when I need to and have cut my driving by more than 75% since December. I have filled my tank 3 times since then! But my insurance bill is almost $400 for the next 6 months. Thats more than 3X what I’ve spent on gas in the last 6! I asked them if they would reduce my premium because I quit driving but they told me absolutely not. boo hoo hoo.

  204. rosehips says:

sh, thank you for your concern. I have been multi-tasking a bit but have yet to start on the assignment that is dragging me down with thoughts of torture and self-mutilation. I am just trying to put it off for a little while longer. What better way to procrastinate than to blog here with all you good people?

but I’m sure you are right and I should go attempt to get some real life things done before I develop sores that will cause me to blog standing up. I need to diversify and take up something a little more active. Maybe I should try Chinese jump roping or ping pong…I want to get a leg up on the competition before they take control and change our national pasttimes….

Barack Obama’s pledge to Russia. We will get rid of our nukes and you get to keep yours. Words of wisdom from the” appeaser in chief”. Did you see the big smile on Putin’s face? He knows a fool when he sees one.

  206. tellitlikeitis says:

I wonder if he asked Putin for any tips on communism since Putin is from the old Soviet era he would be a valuable resource to the president.

  207. m2 says:

President Barack Obama’s approval rating in the Buckeye State – one of the key bellwethers for national politics – dropped to 49 percent, the lowest of any swing state, according to a poll released Tuesday by Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn. Obama, who lost Ohio’s Democratic primary to Hillary Rodham Clinton but topped Republican John McCain in November’s general election, earned a 62 percent approval rating in the university’s May survey.

  208. m2 says:

Last month’s Washington Post/ABC poll reported that Americans favor smaller government with fewer services to larger government with more services by a 54 to 41 percent margin — a slight uptick since 2004. The percentage of Independents favoring small government rose to 61 percent from 52 percent in 2008. The June NBC/Wall Street Journal poll reported that, even amid recession, 58 percent worry more about keeping the budget deficit down versus 35 percent worried more about boosting the economy. A similar question in the June CBS/New York Times poll showed a 52 to 41 percent split.

  209. m2 says:

It’s interesting that on these issues and many others independents are responding more like Republicans than Democrats. That’s the opposite of what we saw up through 2008, when independents were almost as critical of the Bush administration and Republican policies as Democrats.

This apparent recoil against big government policies has not gone unnoticed by Americans. Gallup reported earlier this week that 39 percent of Americans say their views on political issues have grown more conservative, while only 18 say they have grown more liberal. Moderates agreed by a 33 to 18 percent margin.

  210. m2 says:

    Dang!

Away with all this negativity I would like to comment on one area where Obama has been a resounding overpowering success.
He has succeeded in making the USA the laughing stock of the world with his naive inept grasp of Foreign affairs and his and the Democrats sublime stupidity in voting for Cap and Trade legislation based on Green NAZI lies which will cripple America economically that is if his quadrupling of the National debt does not do it first,

Bye Bye USA it was nice knowing you. Every one I speak to has nothing but pity for America and amusement that you dug your own grave.

During the June 25 edition of CNN’s The Situation Room, correspondent Deborah Feyerick reported that “[s]ome lawmakers and religious groups are concerned” that a hate crimes bill Attorney General Eric Holder is “pushing” “could be used to criminalize conservative speech on abortion or homosexuality.” But Feyerick did not note that, as Holder made clear, the Matthew Shepard Hate Crimes Prevention Act specifically states: “Nothing in this Act shall be construed to allow prosecution based solely upon an individual’s expression of racial, religious, political, or other beliefs” The bill also states: “Nothing in this Act shall be construed to prohibit any constitutionally protected speech, expressive conduct or activities … including the exercise of religion protected by the First Amendment and peaceful picketing or demonstration.” Furthermore, while Feyerick noted that Attorney General Eric Holder was “pushing” for passage of the bill, she did not note that in testimony that day, Holder specifically disputed the assertion that the bill could “criminalize … speech.”

Hi there Belle. Ohio was mentioned yesterday as one of the states where housing prices have stabalized. We in Western NY are the same area really. We were never part of the bubble so we have not lost the ground others have. Our housing is dirt cheap with some jobs left – a good combo.

  271. SamHenry says:

Rose, dear. Auntie wants you to go to bed early. In another hour, you will have been blogging off and on for 12 hours. Not even VF is that stalwart. Balance my dear, maintain balance.

Oh, dear, that dog has discovered me using his computer – O – SAAAAAAAAM, I’m so glad to see you. Did you have a good poop in the front yard dear?

Thwonk – Sam – it’s not nice to push Mother to the floor.

Oh, that babbling bitch – and she makes me call her mother. I’m off to the mother info ship for a short time. Oh where are my ear plugs…..

  272. SamHenry says:

Well, looks like WG has been here – tire tracks all over the gang plank. Now she has been messing with her name like chapters in a book. Just because that damn Basset drives a convertible doesn’t give her the right to make her name more difficult for the rest of us. Her sentences and her nervous, witch-like HA HAs are enough to raise Michael Jackson. I don’t see how she laughs and drives at the same time. Someone ought to report her to the Oxford English Dictionary (unabridged) for being a contradiction in terms.

  273. SamHenry says:

Arlene – see you in a couple of days – it will take you about 48 hours to get through all the chapters in that movie but well worth it. It was so long and intense for me that when it was over, I didn’t turn on a light, I just lit a candle. It was really a great film about how our country will soon be getting back to basics: Good ideas, good people, but no indoor plumbing.

  274. samiam60 says:

Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the Presidential election:

    * Number of States won by: Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29
    * Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000 Republicans: 2,427,000
    * Population of counties won by: Democrats: 127 million Republicans: 143 million
    * Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: “In aggregate, the map of the territory Republicans won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare…”
Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the “complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation’s population already having reached the “governmental dependency” phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegals and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.

If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.

Are you using some of that hocus pocus html stuff in the comment boxes to get that fancy line and italic font?

  277. SamHenry says:

  278. SamHenry says:

    Sami

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegals and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

This is a foregone conclusion my wolfe. The reason, the politicos know that if amnesty is not an option, the illegals will just burn the country down. It’s that simple.

  279. m2 says:

OH my gosh people. You need your own comedy hour. I love the Putin to Obama jokes.

    Don’t for get Healthcare!

illegals are like 20% of the uninsured numbers Obama and co. like to guilt you into supporting their sub-standard healthcare bill for.

  281. SamHenry says:

Pleeze, M2 – don’t remind me of how convoluted the government reasoning has become to blind us to what is really going on. We’ve lost plain and simple. I’m enjoying the sunset years of European culture in North America.

  282. m2 says:

That’s what I say SH. It takes “work” to delude oneself that much. Some people are sitting around saying that February stimulus was “good” still.

    Really?
My only conclusion is, it must take a lot of effort and work to delude oneself so much.

  283. m2 says:

I think Obama policies are finished. He’s a lame duck prez now… I’m not sure the public will take any more ‘gang raping’ by Pelosi and the House.

  284. SamHenry says:

Except for the coterie of people who got him elected and die hard Democrats, I would say he has had his day.

I think he is much more successful as a seducer than he is abroad. When you put him up against people like Putin, he looks like amateur hour.

  285. samiam60 says:

Pelosi and Obama are finished in office. The honeymoon is over and everyone was disappointed with his performance.

  286. m2 says:

I read some stuff today that the Russians just didn’t feed his media-induced ego that most other nations succumb to (namely ours). I think he had his day in that Germany speech of 2008 where he said he would “heal the waters” or something ridiculous.

“this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last”

    – Obama, Berlin

  290. m2 says:

    OMG, you crack me up.

well everyone’s favorite radio talk show host says Obama is a “cold” “calculating” man.

SH says: It may be a little thing but the replayed the vid of him killing that fly during an interview. It was chilling. He is a very calculating, powerful personality I would not want to cross.

  291. m2 says:

But, to be fair, he was speaking of looking back after a “long,” “difficult” “journey” which he would take “with profound humility, and knowledge of my own limitations.” And he’s only going to slow the rise of the oceans.

  292. samiam60 says:

SH Obama was more in tune to the fly then the interview if you think about it.

  293. m2 says:

maybe he’s Soros’ terminator and not a man at all. He might have cross-hair trigger in his sight.

  294. SamHenry says:

All we have to do is separate his actions from his words and we’ve won. He doesn’t really live his words – his sermons. Look, what Americans really want is the kind of coverage the workers for the US gov get – we can’t afford that. How to break it to them?

  295. SamHenry says:

Sami – Yes – he is more in tune with that fly than the interviewer. Actually the interviewer was just another fly to him.

  296. m2 says:

isn’t it funny what he says?
all flowery and bullshit, and they just ate it up with some media help.

Trouble is, that BS doesn’t pay bills.

  297. m2 says:

    bwha ha ha ha:

Just before writing the speech, Obama had heard people say of him, “He could be the second coming of J.C.”

He didn’t realize they were talking about Jimmy Carter.

  298. SamHenry says:

The sad fact that Obama in moving so fast on multiple fronts has created a lot of confusion. There has been no time for thoughtful debate or response. Everyone says we have to have universal healthcare immediately because people have suffered too long. Well, rush things through and they may die before they get care with the long lines you will have. There is not just no money; there is no administrative structure.

  299. samiam60 says:

Its been fun today M2, Sh, Rose, VF, WG, tellit, but I must lay me down to sleep and pray my soul to keep. Night all, tomorrow is a new day and we shall overcome.

  300. m2 says:

The sad fact is, that is their intent and always has been. He is a fraud. He is allowing his party to push for 1-party domination, forever. In Left *cough* wisdom, “the end justifies the means”…

Here are some not so well known stats: Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St.

    Daily Presidential Tracking Poll
Wednesday, July 08, 2009 Email to a Friend ShareThisAdvertisement
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Wednesday shows that 32% of the nation’s voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-seven percent (37%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of –5.

The number who strongly disapprove inched up another point to the highest level measured to date and the overall Approval Index is at the lowest level yet for Obama (see trends).

In the wake of last week’s disappointing report on job loss, consumer confidence has fallen to the lowest level in two months. The Rasmussen Investor Index shows investor confidence falling to the lowest level in three months. The number of investors who say the economy is getting worse jumped from 43% before the jobs report to 51% today.

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates also available on Twitter.

Overall, 52% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance so far. Yesterday and today are the first time that the number of voters who approve of the President’s performance has slipped below the 53% share of the vote he won last November. Forty-eight percent (48%) now disapprove. For other barometers of the President’s performance, see Obama By the Numbers or review recent demographic highlights from the tracking polls.

An early look at the 2012 race for the Republican nomination shows Mitt Romney at 25%, Sarah Palin at 24%, and Mike Huckabee at 22%. Forty percent (40%) of GOP voters say that Palin hurt her chances of winning the nomination by resigning as Alaska’s Governor last week. Among all voters, Republicans now have a three-point edge on the Generic Congressional Ballot.

WASHINGTON — Billions of dollars in federal aid delivered directly to the local level to help revive the economy have gone overwhelmingly to places that supported President Obama in last year’s presidential election.
That aid — about $17 billion — is the first piece of the administration’s massive stimulus package that can be tracked locally. Much of it has followed a well-worn path to places that regularly collect a bigger share of federal grants and contracts, guided by formulas that have been in place for decades and leave little room for manipulation.

Up To 10,000 Illinois Prisoners May Be Released

Gov. Pat Quinn: Release Of Inmates Could Save Taxpayers $125 Million Reporting
    Mike Flannery CHICAGO (CBS) ―

There are plans to layoff 1,000 corrections workers at Stateville Prison.

No Budget Deal Will Be Reached By Deadline
    (7/1/2009)
Up to 10,000 convicted criminals could soon be released early from prisons across Illinois. It’s all because of the state’s budget mess. Gov. Pat Quinn says cutting those prisoners loose could save more than $100 million. But at what cost to you?

CBS 2 Political Editor Mike Flannery reports that some people are worried. They don’t want to pay higher taxes. And they don’t want these prison reductions set for Sept. 30, either.

“Oh, my God. I don’t agree with that at all,” one woman said. “They can pull money out of some other things.”

The proposed prisoner release stems from plans to lay off more than 1,000 corrections workers at Stateville Prison and a half-dozen facilities downstate.

The state’s making a list of thousands of so-called non-violent inmates with less than one year left to serve who could be released early. The governor says it could save taxpayers $125 million.

In health bill, billions for parks, paths
Supporters cite prevention, but add-ons’ critics see pork

WASHINGTON – Sweeping healthcare legislation working its way through Congress is more than an effort to provide insurance to millions of Americans without coverage. Tucked within is a provision that could provide billions of dollars for walking paths, streetlights, jungle gyms, and even farmers’ markets.

    Discuss
    COMMENTS (38)
The add-ons – characterized as part of a broad effort to improve the nation’s health “infrastructure’’ – appear in House and Senate versions of the bill.

Critics argue the provision is a thinly disguised effort to insert pork-barrel spending into a bill that has been widely portrayed to the public as dealing with expanding health coverage and cutting medical costs. A leading critic, Senator Mike Enzi, a Wyoming Republican, ridicules the local projects, asking: “How can Democrats justify the wasteful spending in this bill?’’

But advocates, including Senator Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts, defend the proposed spending as a necessary way to promote healthier lives and, in the long run, cut medical costs. “These are not public works grants; they are community transformation grants,’’ said Anthony Coley, a spokesman for Kennedy, chairman of the Senate health committee whose healthcare bill includes the projects.

I think it’s a good idea to release all the non-violent drug offenders and let the corrections officers go.
Why should taxpayers foot the bill of $30,000/yr to incarcerate drug criminals? Has incarceration worked to keep people off drugs?

People always think of the crazed drug addicts who rob and steal to pay for drugs, but that is a small percentage. Most drug users and even addicts hold jobs and pay taxes. Is it really helping them or society to spend so much to lock them up without giving them the help they need?

Jury sees videos of La. congressman accepting cash

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) — A federal jury has seen video of a former Louisiana congressman accepting a suitcase filled with $100,000 in cash outside a northern Virginia hotel.

The videos played Tuesday are a key piece of evidence in the bribery trial of William Jefferson, a Democrat who represented parts of New Orleans. He’s accused of accepting more than $400,000 in bribes to broker business deals in Africa.

The FBI recorded the pickup from four different angles, all of which were shown to the jury.

On the video, Jefferson seemed wary of accepting the money in public. When asked by an FBI informant if he wanted to peek inside the suitcase at the contents, he tersely replied, “No, I would not.”

Jefferson’s lawyers have said Jefferson’s business deals weren’t illegal.

INJUNCTION LIFTED FOR KENSINGTON TAILINGS IMPOUNDMENT FOLLOWING FAVORABLE SUPREME COURT RULING
With Expected Reinstatement of previously enjoined 404 Permit,
Work Can Proceed Toward Expected 2010 Mine Startup
COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho – July 8, 2009 – Coeur d’Alene Mines Corporation (NYSE:CDE, TSX:CDM, ASX:CXC) announced today that the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has lifted its injunction regarding the Kensington Gold Mine 404 tailings permit, following the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision that affirmed the permit.
With the expected reinstatement of the 404 permit by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Coeur may resume construction of the tailings facility, the only component remaining to be constructed at the mine, and for production to commence as scheduled in the second half of next year. Construction of the tailings facility was suspended in August 2006 with the issuance of the original injunction. On June 22, 2009, the U.S. Supreme Court reversed the earlier judgment of the Ninth Circuit Court.
Kensington is a major gold project 100% owned by Coeur and located 45 miles northwest of Juneau, Alaska. The mine is expected to produce approximately 125,000 ounces of gold annually, representing a 135% increase for Coeur over the Company’s current gold production levels. Kensington is expected to provide immediate economic impact and job creation to Juneau and Southeast Alaska.
Proven and probable reserves measure 1.5 million ounces of gold.

Since we don’t manufacture anything anymore and what we do manufacture, the Chinese are working on competing with (Pharma) now what? I’m all for free markets but what do you do when there are no markets just Chinese imports?

  386. rosehips says:

sami, that is the trillion dollar question. I’m not sure what we could have done. How can you stop people from procreating? It’s natural. But I believe that the Creator will judge us by how we treat the poor.

    New song

    People
    People who procreate people
Are the unluckiest people in the world
    They are debt ridden
And they are living all hidden
In tents and parks and cars….

    “Hey diddle diddle

    That’s all she wrote folks.

sami, I don’t really think there is a right or wrong when talking about the Creator. I realize you believe what the Bible tells you, but I’m sorry to say that I only take it with a grain of salt. It is not based on fact, only hearsay. sorry.

Retail Sales Miss the Mark as Consumers Curb Spending

    ——————————————————————————–

In addition, wet weather dampened demand for summertime merchandise.

Even before these factors, chain stores were facing difficult comparisons with the year-ago period, when consumers had a little extra cash in their pockets from economic stimulus checks.

Based on the early results from retailers, shoppers continued to trade down to less expensive products and focus their spending on the essential items. This doesn’t bode well for retailers, who are beginning to stock merchandise for the back-to-school shopping period.

Although weak results were seen across all sectors, the trend was especially pronounced among apparel retailers.

  397. samiam60 says:

This is worth hearing again and may explain why the poll numbers are now -8 for Obama.

  398. samhenry says:

Tellit – I come from a retailing family – sold clothes and other dry goods through several downturns. Clothing is the worst investment you can make. It is the first thing people cut back on. Figures don’t exist for it but I’ll just bet all of those retail customers are over at Goodwill and other places.

  399. samiam60 says:

Rose the difference between us is that I have a foundation and a source to base my belief’s on.
What do you base your Beliefs on that give you the opinion you just quoted? If you are right we are all off the hook. If not, then we are all without excuse.

sami, I think you have it in your head that people find that much significance in the “lecture”. c’mon. so what if Putin lectured Obama. and what if Obama listened to him? so what. Perhaps Obama gained insight from hearing Putin’s perspective on the cold war. Is it so bad to listen to what other foriegn leaders have to say? Just because you are obsessing over this supposed sign of weakness, I don’t think you should assume that other Americans are really putting that much significance in it.

    Putin lectured Obama. Big deal.

  401. samiam60 says:

Kennedy knew brinksmanship to a degree. He stood up to Kruschevz and caused him to blink.
In a similar situation, what do you think Obama might do? Saying Aaaaa a a A aa isn’t gonna cut it.

  402. rosehips says:

sami, well I do have a foundation. I was subjected to religious instruction and sermons for 12 years. What I learned is that the bible was written by men, who are inherently imperfect and have been known to exaggerate and lie. They glorify humans and create gods. Look at Obama.
How many years after the death of Christ was the Bible written? How can you put so much faith in words handed down through generations? That’s foolish.

  403. samiam60 says:

Reagan used the only language the Russians understood. Strength! Tear down this Wall.
The Evil Empire. All things the Russians respected knowing this man (Reagan) meant business.

  404. rosehips says:

    sami, was that “brinkmanship”or “blinkmanship?”

sami said: Kennedy knew brinksmanship to a degree. He stood up to Kruschevz and caused him to blink.

And yet this Foolishness is the very foundation of our modern world two thousand years later. I stick with the tried and proven over your foundationless blief’ any day.

Independents begin to edge away from President Obama

In a potentially alarming trend for the White House, independent voters are deserting President Barack Obama nationally and especially in key swing states, recent polls suggest.

Obama’s job approval rating hit a — still healthy — low of 56 percent in the Gallup Poll on Wednesday. And pollsters are debating whether Obama’s expansive and expensive policy proposals or the ground-level realities of a still-faltering economy are driving the falling numbers.

But a source of the shift appears to be independent voters, who seem to be responding to Republican complaints of excessive spending and government control.

“This is a huge sea change that is playing itself out in American politics,” said Democratic pollster Doug Schoen. “Independents who had become effectively operational Democrats in 2006 and 2008 are now up for grabs and are trending Republican.

“They’re saying, ‘Costing too much, no results, see the downside, not sure of the upside,’” he said.

The White House denies there’s been any real shift.

“The independent numbers I have seen, public and private, have been relatively steady,” Obama’s senior political adviser, David Axelrod, said in an e-mail.

Another political adviser dismissed small state polls as statistically questionable and pointed out that Obama’s own numbers remain strong, by historical standards— with an average 59 percent approval rating among independents in June, according to Gallup.

Pollsters from both parties debate the numbers’ meaning, but averages of public polls have shown a gentle downward trend.

Obama retains extremely strong support from Democrats, and earlier this year lost much of the Republican support that followed a giddy Inauguration. It is the independents who appear to be currently on the move: Obama dropped 6 percentage points last week from the week before in Gallup’s tracking poll, and Quinnipiac University found a 5-percentage-point drop in approval from independents between early June and early July. Recent state polling shows drops over longer periods.

  407. rosehips says:

sami, sorry about the “foolish” comment. I don’t mean to insult anyone who has faith in the Bible. I’m glad people do. If we didn’t have faith, I think the world would be much worse for it.

  408. samiam60 says:

Thank you Rose but I never took that as an insult from you at all. We are friends and free to speak our minds with each other. I just love your spirit.

Foxwood is BACK. I am so glad to see you hear. I have had to debate Rose all by myself and let me tell you she is tuff.

  410. samiam60 says:

Fox I must also confess that Debating Rose caused me to hug a tree.

  411. rosehips says:

and I am not foundationless. I was brought up in a Christian home by devout parents. My dad went to church EVERY DAY. He tried to set an example for his 7 children. I am afraid it didn’t work. I do have one brother who recently returned to the church but I don’t think any of my other siblings attend. I have one sister who is a Buddist. I am more prone to the teachings of Buddha, but I am very influenced by Christ and would count him among one of my biggest influences in my life, perhaps the biggest when I come right down to it. I have never said that before, but it just might be true.

It all comes down to interpretation. I take what I want from the Bible and what I believe Christ’s true message was. I believe strongly in the “golden rule”. Do unto others…

    DOG and satire overboard…

  415. Foxwood says:

Oh! 2 Sams here! Thanks all!

  416. samiam60 says:

Rose forget religion and the teachings of man. If you are open to the teachings of Christ than that is ALL you will ever need. I am not a member of any organized religion at all. I too feel that man corrupts everything and so It is just me and Jesus in this life and the next.

sh, have a good day and good luck with the tests. I am going to have to go soon. I have deadlines looming and weights on my shoulders that are getting too heavy to bear. I must pull away from my favorite place here and reintegrate into my life out there.

  418. rosehips says:

sami, you see, we have more in common than I think we both realized. 🙂
