English Protest Sign - An Obvious Plea to the West; and Obama Turns his Back as Iranian Citizens react to Rigged Election

Obama eager to side with his Middle East Dictator Buddies… backs away from voicing support for Iranian Citizens asking “WHERE IS MY VOTE?”

Apparently there is a lot of Obama Empathy in play… but not for citizens deserving Liberty and a voice in how their country is governed, rather for a Dictatorship who crushes it’s Citizens.

Well Obamayou picked a side… and you sided with a Dictator… The Ayotollah Khomeini.

By doing so, you are taking the stand that citizens should do as they are told.

Well… Many People around the World, including Americans, disagree with people being denied Liberty.

Middle east editor Ian Black: ‘100 thinkers have been arrested.’

Following a crackdown on the foreign press, the Revolutionary Guards, Iran’s most powerful military force, warned online media of similar treatment over their coverage of the country’s election crisis.

In its first statement since the crisis broke out,the Revolutionary Guards – an elite military force answering to the supreme leader – said Iranian websites and bloggers must remove any materials that “create tension” or face legal action.

Like the Socialist Tactics in use now in America, ala ACORN Rent-A-Thug Protesters, The Iranian Dictator made his moves…

Thousands of so-called “Ahmadinejad supporters,” who were bused in for a mass rally in Tehran’s Vali Asr Square, waved their fists and cheered as Gholam Ali Haddad Adel, a prominent ally of Ahmadinejad, told them: “This nation will protect and defend its revolution in any way.”

Nicolas Sarkozy, the French president, yesterday denounced the Iranian government’s “brutal” reaction to demonstrators.
In Washington, Barack Obama said he was “deeply disturbed” by the violence. But he did not want to be seen as “meddling” in Iranian internal affairs.

And it’s amazing I can read and hear Rose. What about you?

I told you the source. you refused to accept it. The source, as stated above was in the story. That you can’t read is NOT my fault. You don’t get off that easy.

  2. samhenry says:

VF – I agree wholeheartedly with the power of Twitter in the Iran revolution. The government tacitly supported your view when I asked Twitter not to close down and refresh but to stay up to receive word from Iran. Amazingly, President Obama went to the Pentagon (they requested Twitter not to go down) or information on the situation – his staff fell behind the curve in following it. He who depends on traditional media sources such as CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS – etc. would be behind as they were left in the dust by the big T

  3. Foxwood says:

Hit and run Rose, You can’t handle it.

  4. samhenry says:

Type in last comment. I didn’t ask Twitter not to close down – the Pentagon did! I am not armed and fully dangerous. I just have a couple of watch dogs.

However, my mutts are willing to serve as guide dog for those “blinded by the light” of the supreme lender and leader.

Here’s one response to Obama’s cautious reactions to the protests and elections. I think it is important to be careful as the situation is very volatile and taking sides without all the facts can be dangerous indeed.

    Baker lauds Obama’s response

12:00 AM CDT on Friday, June 19, 2009
By ELIZABETH SOUDER / The Dallas Morning News
    esouder@dallasnews.com

Former Secretary of State James Baker praised President Barack Obama’s careful response to election protests in Iran and compared his reaction to that of former President George H.W. Bush after the Tiananmen Square violence in China.

Obama has not taken sides with Iran’s leaders or the opposition. He has said he’s troubled by the violence after protests of election results, and he called on leaders to respect free speech.

“If we’re out there, beating up on them, criticizing, they’ll just say, ‘This is the Great Satan,’ ” Baker said after a speech Thursday to the Dallas Chamber of Commerce.

In early June 1989, Chinese troops shot and beat democracy activists after weeks of protest in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square.

Bush at the time condemned the Chinese government for using violence.

Like Obama, Bush was criticized by some members of Congress, who wanted him to denounce the Chinese government more strongly and to cut off trade.

Baker was secretary of state at the time and urged a more measured approach.

On Thursday, he said the situation in Iran should get a similar, gentle treatment. American support for the opposition could backfire and fuel local support for the Iranian government, he said.

“A president has to walk a very fine line here, particularly when the revolution was built on anti-American sentiment,” said Baker, a partner with his family’s Houston law firm, Baker Botts, and advisory chairman to Energy Future Holdings.

SH, black flies are the bane of human existence. They make me question the existence of God. Isn’t is a consolation that they are only a nuisance for a couple weeks? That is true, isn’t it? There is a period when they go into attack mode in June and then they die? They are the most annoying creatures on earth!

  8. VotingFemale says:

Lol James Baker’s brain damage from an assassin’s bullet to his head was so bad he had to step down from his Reagan Cabinet position.

    duhhhh

  9. Foxwood says:

Better back that up with a URL VF. You might get called on that statement.

  10. VotingFemale says:

And Foxwood? You have just been subjected to a typical Leftist Ploy….

    It’s called “Prove Yourself Right.”

Gee… that is not how that works… if a Leftist disagrees with what you say… the burden of proving what you said was wrong lies with them.

Tell them to go prove you wrong!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

They do that ploy all the time! 😉

Hey, Rose? Prove Fox was incorrect when he said Kevin J. is a friend of Obama. Provide backup links.

  11. Foxwood says:

I would be very embarrassed myself…

  12. samhenry says:

Rose there is a way of remaining neutral yet recognizing the “democratic” processes in Iran that have allowed people to peacefully protest.

I realize the delicacy of the situation and also have his recent speech at Cairo in mind.

The Prez is speaking at the Hispanic prayer breakfast and has just said “I am my brother’s keeper.” We don’t have to follow China or even the voices from the last administration. We need to evaluate the changed world we are now in and lead it.

  13. samhenry says:

FOX there was a time that black and white and red all over was an embarrassed zebra. Today I have read it is a newspaper in red ink.

  14. samhenry says:

Rose – you are correct on two black fly counts:

There is nothing so painful as their bite.

The “season” lasts only a couple of weeks.

  15. VotingFemale says:

Biden said the Iranian government has suppressed crowds and limited free speech, which he said raised questions. He also called the strong showing by Ahmadinejad “unlikely,” based on pre-election analysis.

So… The Vice President disagrees with Obamafat

  16. rosehips says:

no, vf. It shouldn’t work that way, but I guess I don’t write the rules. I will not participate in a debate with those rules. If I state a fact, I do not expect you to prove me wrong. That’s ridiculous. I should back up my fact with proof if you challenge me. How am I supposed to prove that Obama and KJ are not friends? The burden of proof lies with the person making the claim, imo. I should not have to spend my time trying to disprove something that is stated as a fact. Opinions are one thing, but stating that the reason Obama fired the IG was because he was a friend to KJ should be backed up. Plain and simple.

  17. Foxwood says:

Where as my tactic is to bait the question and embarass the questioner.

The Dreaded Greenhead… a biting fly who’s bites typically draw blood and laughs at being swatted… apparently they have body armor.

These flies can leave scars and attack like flying barracudas.

    Greenhead Flies Advisory

    Daily Conditions Report

The Greenhead fly season at Crane Beach generally begins by July 11 and the flies are completely gone by the end of the first week in August. Fly intensity varies daily and they are frequently not present on the beachfront between July 11th and August 7th. Lifeguards, Beach Rangers, and other staff have long used an Avon product called “Skin So Soft” to keep the greenheads from biting. The “Skin So Soft” lotion is sold at the Crane Beach Snack Bar.

  22. rosehips says:

sh, I remember that black fly season well. I did not spend too much time in June up in the Adirondacks as I was usually somewhere else in summer, but even two weeks is too long for those hideous creatures. What ever could their purpose in this web of life be?

  23. Foxwood says:

As stated in my story, from a source that Rose doesn’t listen to, Sam, He’s a friend of Obama’s.

  24. samhenry says:

  27. VotingFemale says:

and he did not “take a bullet” for Reagan… that is the job of Secret Service Agents who purposfully put themselves between a President and an assassin’s bullets.

Baker was struck by a stray bullet and was not trying to shield the President.

  28. rosehips says:

SH, I don’t know for sure. It has been said that he and the board had some major differences. I think he had an agenda of some sort and he got too emotionally involved and it affected his ability to perform his job without bias. He was too quick to get the media involved. One of the links that foxy provided (which I did indeed read) showed an email that Walpin provided to the media that he had written to the board, I believe. I thought that was totally inappropriate. The guy is a lawyer and he is not abiding by the code of confidentiality and ethics. It was said that he was incoherent at a board meeting. Well, they should have records of that. And I keep hearing that there is absolutely just cause for his dismissal but it is inappropriate at this point to disclose this information to the media until an investigation is complete. So I am waiting until I give my opinion. I have not said whether I feel the firing was or was not justified because I do not know the facts. But facts are ambiguous I guess and are often confused with speculation. sigh.

  29. Foxwood says:

And Fact, I quoted a story I saw on Fox news. Rose asked for a source. As you’ve said, VF. I told Rose to do her research. She didn’t, wouldn’t, or couldn’t. I cited my source in the story.

  30. VotingFemale says:

    From Hillary Clinton…

Clinton defended U.S. efforts to ensure that the social networking service, Twitter, remained available for use by Iranians, after the State Department urged Twitter to delay schedule maintenance work to avoid interrupting its service in Iran.

Asked about criticisms of America’s interference in Iranian affairs because of that request, Clinton replied the United States “believes passionately and strongly in the basic principle of free expression.”

“I think keeping that line of communications open and enabling people to share information, particularly at a time when there was not many other sources of information, is an important expression of the right to speak out and be able to organize that we value,” she added.

Iranians protesting against the disputed election have been using Twitter to organize demonstrations, as access to other forms of communication has been cut or limited.

  31. samhenry says:

VF duuuuuuh – SH thought James Baker was former Secretary of State or whatever under Bush’s father. I get the numbers and the initials mixed up.

  32. rosehips says:

and vf, thanks for the info on the greenhead fly. That seems like a menace to society as well. Maybe they should bring back those DDT trucks that kids used to love to follow behind on their bikes.
DDT sure was effective for pests. I once had a doctor prescribe it to me. The pharmacists got a good chuckle. Teach me to go to an old doctor who specialized in sports medicine for a case of the crabs. His office was next to mine in Manhattan. I thought at the time it was a good idea. hahahaa

  37. rosehips says:

SH, you are absolutely right. Jame Brady took the bullet meant for Reagan. James Baker was Secretary of State under the first Bush and he was Reagan’s chief of staff.

He did not get shot and does not work for gun control. His cause stems from a tragic accident involving his granddaugter:
    from wiki:
On June 15, 2002, Virginia Graeme Baker, the 7-year-old granddaughter of Baker, daughter of Nancy and James Baker IV, was the victim of suction-pump entrapment in an in-ground spa.[19] To promote greater safety in pools and spas, Nancy Baker gave testimony to the Consumer Product Safety Commission,[20] and James Baker helped form an advocacy group,[21] which led to the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool And Spa Safety Act (15 USC 8001).[22]

I was estatic as I was not intending to buy a new one and I do love it when everything is neat and trimmed up.

    “negative ions”?

Could be a result of that button being pressed. 🙂

  90. rosehips says:

I think it is wise that Obama is cautious. He knows who runs the show and support of the dissidents is fine but he must be in a position to engage with each of the sides. If he comes out antagonizing the President or the supreme leader he will be setting a stage for war. Is that what we really want?
I don’t think comparing this situation to Gaza is valid. Look how much US aid Israel receives:

“Total U.S. aid to Israel is approximately one-third of the American foreign-aid budget, even though Israel comprises just .001 percent of the world’s population and already has one of the world’s higher per capita incomes.”

  91. VotingFemale says:

I think Obama is starting to realize he is over his head. And regardless of what he says or does not say it will be interpreted as a statement.

In view of his ass kissing in the middle east, I interpret his lack of a stance as appeasement to the wrong people. He is either for or against Dictators who crap on people…

By saying he is not going to “meddle” is a political stance designed to protect his own personal butt and a brush off of Iranian citizens who are not going to forget his brush off… but what matters is what American people think of his personal butt covering… and he is showing a tendency to bow and scrape to enemies. Which… is dangerous to the US.

The best thing about the aftermath of the elections in Iran are the human faces that have been put on the people of Iran. How many people who had no qualms about annialating Iran previously, now realize that there are millions of innocent victims within the country who want what most people want. Freedom from persecution and freedom of expression. Hooray for Twitter, facebook, ireports et al!
I hope those who condemn Iran and call for its destruction will consider the protesters next time they call for a military action against them.

  100. VotingFemale says:

I do not know of anyone who wants the people of Iran destroyed. I am aware of people who oppose the Revolutionary Dictator Government of Iran which has no problem killing citizens who want a voice in their country.

And if Obama is not Macho then he is a Wimpo… a strong president is what is needed…. not a limp wristed Dictator Ass Kisser…

There are extremes… and a strong president who puts Americans first can be either a male or a female.

A weakling president is dangerous… and the DNC never seems to get that part figured out.

And I agree… this election protest has enabled empathy by American citizens for Iranian citizens… and that is a good thing.

Just Because Bush or Obama or whoever is president… it does not change who are the American citizens… same applies with Iranian Citizens who are being fed propaganda from a State Controlled Media… sorta like what happens on ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, and CNN.

I wonder what she is going to Greece and Italy for?

I’m not home yet. I’m sure I know what VF’s email was about. I apologize and will refrain my fingers from future futile fussing. No more baiting, no more playing, no more fussing, no more insinuating. I hope you accept.

VF – Down with Ieatdogfood Ishotmydog

That said – The time has come for the leader of the US to consider the voice of the people here and their Representatives. He is NOT an Ayatollah is he? You really have to stand for something in life. When is it OK to say Iran should not have nukes and then not support the people in the streets there?

  111. samhenry says:

That’s it: Obama supports Ayatollah Kahmeni (spelling? – no Farsi in kit issued at birth].

He has taken a stand. Silence is not golden. He has stood with the official leader of Iran.

  112. samhenry says:

Of course the Saudis are shuddering in their tents wondering how long it will be before people are in the streets there. BOY would Obama be in there with troops protecting the oil.

Iran has practically zip oil – n’est-ce pas?

hey hey, I just got back from the “Protect Marriage” rally in the park a block from my house. I got some excellent interviews about the referendum they are collecting signatures for to put the sanctity of marriage to a vote by the people. Our state legislature has already passed a law and governor Gregoire signed it that gives homosexuals the right to marry. These folks are aginst it. Fair enough. My report will be unbiased although I oppose the measure. I got interviews with organizers and my two state reps. One recognized my name and was sooo excited to finally meet me. heehee. She must have forgot I was the one who did an ireport exposing the scandal of her husband embezzling money from the local Fair board and her dodging questions about her families debt and finances. Or maybe she didn’t see the report and remembers my name from someplace else. not sure. But they were all more than happy for the free publicity and seemed to trust that I would report truthfully. I will not let them down.

haven’t tested the whacker yet sh. It has been threatening rain all day.

foxy, apology accepted. let’s try to be more civil and take things less personally. I’m sorry if I have provoked or insulted you.
    truce out.

  123. arlenearmy says:

    Fox
Yeah, we are watching Fox (Glenn Beck). Something has got to happen to stop this train wreck.

Obama was hatched as a liar. He claims that countries that have single payer health care are satisfied? Whose not telling the truth ? What country is he talking about ? He never named that country.

  124. arlenearmy says:

I really dont get off into twitter. Maybe I should try it again.

  125. samhenry says:

FOX was looking for Crosby etc “gotta get back to the garden” but can’t move beyond Southern Man and Southern Cross. Southern Cross Wins:

  126. samhenry says:

    Arlene

Love your line “Obama has hatched as a liar.”

  127. samhenry says:

NOW really have to get up out of this computer chair. It will rain here tomorrow. “Need to get back to the Garden….”

  128. Foxwood says:

    Arlene.
Did you see the video of Gibbs being asked by reporters about the countries that have a working single payer healthcare? I’ll see if I can find it again.

  129. Foxwood says:

I heard it on Fox, but this is a CNN clip. Why do you think the NYT, LAT, and other news papers …(edit)… this out of his statement?

  130. samhenry says:

Well, I did get up out of this chair for dinner here on the East Coast.

Arlene – I used to be bored out of my gourd by Twitter. It seemed like a short take on Facebook. I really didn’t care what someone was doing. But it has moved on to politics and things that matter. Facebook is still into “what should I make for dinner”?

  131. arlenearmy says:

    Fox
I remember back in the day when Msnbc was fairly conservative. That was when Gibson was there. I recall those days cause that’s when we got our 1st big screen TV

Now I hear Obama is trying to find a church home. I don’t think he has even visited any church. Samhenry, in a previous comment on VF’ prior blog suggested that Michelle’s mama could be taking the kids to church. I have not seen nor heard of evidence of this. Actually, we dont much if anything about Michelle’s mom.

  132. samhenry says:

FOX – just listened to the tape. Whatever happened to a straightforward “I don know off the top of my head; I’ll get back to you on that one.” at the very least. He should be fired for incompetency and replaced with Reverend Wright. Couldn’t be more irritating and duplicitous.

  133. samhenry says:

Arlene re my statement: Michelle’s mama could be taking the kids to church.

I like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt but too many months have passed now. What does that say to the kids? And you’re right, you don’t hear about the first Grandmother. People think Michele is the power behind the throne; perhaps it’s Grandma!

  134. samhenry says:

I have to say this off topic: Obama has jacked up the FDA to go after foods that claim their product will lower cholesterol (Cherrios) etc.

The definition of a drug has to do with anything that causes a change in the human body. No matter how much data Cherrios uses to back up its claims, they are touting it as a drug. They need to file a claim for a new drug to avoid being taken down for this. This is clear and is not involved with politics. Politics entered in here when Obama caused FDA to crack down. That’s nothing new. It happens with or without him from time to time.

  135. Foxwood says:

I want to find that ACORN tree online. That’s something everybody needs to see.

  136. VF, Great Post and love this, “Like the Socialist Tactics in use now in America, ala ACORN Rent-A-Thug Protesters” girl so true! WHEN WILL LIBERALS WAKE UP????

Hello Everyone, long time no see!

Hello!!!!…Nicolas Sarkozy, the French president, yesterday denounced the Iranian government’s “brutal” reaction to demonstrators.
In Washington, Barack Obama said he was “deeply disturbed” by the violence. But he did not want to be seen as “meddling” in Iranian internal affairs.

What a weak scared weenie we have supposedly Defending American Liberty and Freedom? WRONG!

See, the abscence of action on his/our part shows WEAKNESS.

    Imagine that. Gross.

  137. ANNOY A LIBERAL, USE FACTS AND LOGIC

  138. samhenry says:

WG – Barack is disturbed alright.

  139. samhenry says:

Fox – I have retrieved what it is I think you are looking for.

  140. samhenry says:

Dog exhausted from retrieval duties on blog. Dog overboard….

  141. dog dog dog!!! hahahhaha Hey Sh, you doing ok?

  142. samhenry says:

Hey WG – I’m hanging in, wagging my tail, trying to please as usual – GREAT to hear from you. Will be moseying over to your blog soon. I need a convertible – especially when I hyperventilate. I try to hypertitilate – keep them laughing you know. Humor is the thing that makes the message medicine go down. I learned that from M. Poppins.

  143. samhenry says:

Like most dogs, WG, I’m faithful!

  144. yes, SH we are a faithful lot!

    Dog, man’s best friend!

  145. samhenry says:

Just did a new ireport vid. Obama wants the FDA to crack down on food labeling and they’ve singled out Cherrios. What Obama is asking for is for the FDA to spend money – money it doesn’t have – to crack down. 10 or so years ago the FDA had to pass a reg creating fees for Pharma companies to help defray the cost of processing New Drug Applications. Did O even ask if this additional oversight would cost anything???? Of course not. I wonder if his Press Secretary gets it? No, he’s still tracking down a list of countries….

  146. samhenry says:

Sorry VF – we dogs got off topic. I guess I wanted to forget that tomorrow will be a critical day in Iran. The Ayatollah has made it clear that further demonstrations will have consequences. There are those who are calling for millions to turn out because “they cannot do anything if millions of us turn out.” Watch.

  147. VotingFemale says:

    no problem puppy girl!

  148. samhenry says:

Iran BEFORE the revolution – look at the life of the women!

    ttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQy0ZGjAqM8&feature=related

  149. Foxwood says:

The FDA warned Cherrios that they would be taken off the market because the said they could lower coleteral 4 points in 10 weeks. So Cherrios put on their label they could lower 10 points in 4 weeks. They’ve got some chahones.

I wished more Republicans had em’.

  150. samhenry says:

People don’t realize that “data” produced outside a clinical trial undertaken to meet the requirements of a New Drug Application have no standing. That data cannot support a claim that Cherrios reduced Cholesterol even 1% because the claim itself is a violation. The claim makes Cherrios an unapproved drug.

    http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-275872

    Vid still loading.

This Cherrios business is complicated and when things in the public realm get complicated, we all count on the President’s Press Secretary to clarify matters….

  151. samhenry says:

FOX – and does the power of the pup extend to having brought back the correct ACORN tree for you? I hope so.

  152. SH said, The Ayatollah has made it clear that further demonstrations will have consequences.

SH, yes I’m just waiting on that EXACT same treatment of Americans to happen here as we assemble in peaceful opposition to the Obma admin, policies, practices. Except I do imagine it to be clandestine and diabolical as past practices exhibit.

  153. samhenry says:

WG – the next peaceful demonstrations here will be the 4th of July tea parties, am I right?

  154. SH, are you baiting me? ?SH are you a spy?

hahahaahahah, YES! you are correct, it certainly will be. And on that note we will be on vacation and I’m watching for a TEA Party to pop up on the http://www.teapartyday.com MAP to attend.

I do not see our government doing that just yet, however I do see it in our future.

  155. samhenry says:

Now WG, remember, I’m faithful and you’re a friend. I don’t bait friends – in fact I don’t bother to bait anyone I just flat out say what’s on my mind. I’d be a spy just to get my pay grade up but here’s the thing: I’ve got a face that gives me away in seconds. I’m just not good at it. However, I guess I should milk this thing because you’ve created interest in this ole dawg – ha ha X 12

  156. rosehips says:

sh, have you had trouble loading vids on ireport? I am trying one myself and it is not processing. My last vid took about 6 tries! That is just too much frickin’ time wasted, dont you think?

  157. VotingFemale says:

Hey wGirl, glad you like the blogpost dear!

  158. rosehips says:

lol, sh you could be a spy. you are just trying to throw us off. well, for that matter any of us could be. heehee

  159. samhenry says:

YES Rose – I have had a vid uploading for 1/2 hour. I’ll just bet a get an e-mail on this one. They are probably overwhelmed by incoming from Iran.

  160. VotingFemale says:

Rose, you can always upload to youtube the embed it in a wordpress blogpost lol

  161. samhenry says:

Heck, Rosie, this is (uploading on iReports) a grand waste of time. I could have cut the lawn 3 times by now.

  162. Foxwood says:

“FOX – and does the power of the pup extend to having brought back the correct ACORN tree for you?”

It’s very close. The one Glenn had was an actual tree, but the information was the same. He had a scholar on explaining the branches.

WG, When Iran stopped the press, I was suspicious. Now they are shutting down cellphones. When they have stopped all information going out of Iran, the consequences will begin. Their hope is we will never see them.

  163. rosehips says:

    arghhhh, it is so frustrating.

but I hold no grudge toward the iranian protesters. They can have my place in line. But I think my interviews with the Protect Marriage people came out ok. I cut out all the bad parts, and some good but I had to keep it down to a minimum, ya know?
Some of the people were really nice and articulate. The one rep from my district might look a little perturbed. That’s cuz I rambled with my questions, so I had to cut most of that one out. whoops.
I think I did a decent job of keeping my own viewpoints out of the video. I’ll be interested to see the comments. Most of my teaparty comments were pretty positive, so I’m hoping it will be the same. If anyone even bothers to look at it. Things have been dead over there lately. I do think that cnn might like this one, if the subject isn’t too yesterday.

  164. rosehips says:

vf, I am planning to do that. That would be easier. Then at least all my wordpress “fans” can view it. lol

I’ll go do that now. thanks girlfriend!

  165. rosehips says:

lol, sh…I coulda whacked a million weeds.

  166. SH,just kidding girl! Totally I was. I thought it was funny, like you were saying one thing, I’d say the next, like putting a puzzel together with you being 007!

    hahahhaahhlollolololo

  167. Foxwood says:

Those poor weeds! I’m calling PETW! 🙂

  168. samhenry says:

The problem with the Islamic republics? The subsume thousands of years of culture under layers of their propaganda. They act as if they are returning to the glory days. The glory days kept the Ayatollahs in the mosques.

  169. samhenry says:

WG sometimes I’m not good at interpretation or humor! I just found out there will be rain tomorrow so I’m already in fuzzy day mode. An entire day on the mat – ugh.

  170. rosehips says:

my vid processed! hallelujah, there is a God.

hope you like it! I also uploaded to youtube.

“What will happen to the bulls, captain?”
“Shiver me timbers, matey, ta hell if I know.”
“Another weekend, another bo-hunk nowhere town….best bbq for 100 miles, or so they say.”

  174. Foxwood says:

  175. Foxwood says:

    Ok…maybe not that funny.

  176. rosehips says:

sorry, sami, foxy…LOLOLOL @ PETW: People for the Ethical Treatment of Weeds. now that Freakin’ Funny!!! Really.

Thanks for pointing it out foxy. I didn’t get it the first time…rosehips<—trying to cop a buzz. zap!

  177. rosehips says:

and ya know guys….I bought 10 records today. mostly john denver and one kingston trio. they were a quarter a piece. I don’t know if jd is still popular on ebay but a few years ago there was a real demand for some of his rarer albums. But ebay kinda tanked, like all good things. HAHAHA
but they had lots of Carpenter records. In good shape. but I passed even for a quarter. RIP Karen.

  178. rosehips says:

and sh, I thought of you when I bought the Kingston Trio record. It looked good. It’s the one titled “Tom Dooley”. a real classic no? condition: near mint, but has a little musty smell.

  179. samhenry says:

Hey, Rosie, I have a kind of musty smell myself. It should b e a real classic (Tom Dooley).

    Do you resell these?

  180. Foxwood says:

I didn’t expect any response for about 9 minutes.

  181. samhenry says:

FOX – I think you are drifting toward Talmudic reasoning:

Sorry it took me so long to reply.

I saw what Gibbs said. Its a bunch of lies…lies… lies…. lies !!

Fox how long do you think we can last under this administration ?

  184. samhenry says:

Hi Arlene – and sorry I forgot to say Hi to Sami

  185. rosehips says:

sh, sorry for delay. I am multi, multi tasking. Yes I resell them, but it has been ages since I have.

I have made a mint on some of the records I have sold on ebay. But the heyday of record dealing I think is over, like many of the grand pasttimes that are only memories now. c’est la vie. sigh.

  186. samhenry says:

Rosie, my antique dealer friend has said NOTHING is selling. Only high end costume and real jewelry are selling.

I used to deal in rare books and have a ton of them and now they are worthless.

  187. arlenearmy says:

I think things are going too far w/this Cheerios stuff. If they wanna bash & slash on Cheerios, then what about spinach (iron), carrots (good for eyes), bananas (potassium) ? Are those fruits & vegetables considered as drugs !!!!

But Lord & Master O wants to over tax soda pop & candy. He’s saying eat all the candy & drunk all the coke you want, so long as you pay UP ! If you want to practice preventative medicine by eating Cheerios, you will be accused of eating contraband. What the hell he wants from US ?

  188. rosehips says:

sigh about the books. yes. the good times have passed us by.

have you ever heard of Lynda Barry? She is one of my favorite writers and humorists. She wrote a book about the good times (are killing me?). I think I have it. I went to a workshop in Spokane that she gave. I really connected with her. She is funnnnny!

  189. samhenry says:

Arlene, here is my vid about what Cherrios is doing. They are technically marketing themselves as a drug. Drugs bring about changes in the human body.

  190. arlenearmy says:

Before long O will put us in mud huts … standing in line getting United Way food rations.

So much for envisioning his Dreams of His Father ! What is his dreams for US ?

  191. Foxwood says:

Talmudic? What? You think I’m some kinda putz?
Maybe not so much a putz.

  192. arlenearmy says:

    SamHenry
Koool !!! How you do that ? I mean the video. Im gonna put on my ear phones to hear your video.

  193. rosehips says:

arlene, it might start looking like a nightmare. I agree. All the ideas I have ever had about what would be good for America I am realizing are just too difficult to regulate. How can you really control obesity? How can you keep people from smokin’? What if I smoke on occasion? Will they be doing random pee tests to see if I smoke tobacco? ( and god forbid they ever try to test me for cannabis). I really don’t know how they can control us. We are a gnarly bunch. We are righteous and resolute. I don’t think they can ever figure out how to tie us down. At least not all of us, ya know what I mean?

Very good presentation on Cheerios & FDA. My specific concern about this was prompted by a recent VA Hospital Dr. visit. Dr. nags me about cholesterol level & he figured I must not be eating correctly. He asked me what was I eating & suggested I eat oatmeal or Cheerios.

I had been cheerios & it in fact lowered my cholesterol. But I fell off the wagon for about a month. Medical staff gives out a print-out of food items to eat. I was told by the Dr. that he could RX me Simvastatin (probably mispelled), but that it was best to eat proper food to lower cholesterol than to take the RX.

The VA is government. The VA works for Obama. The VA said eat cheerios & oatmeal for lowering cholesterol. Now I guess I am to doubt whom ?

  206. Foxwood says:

The UN hasn’t authorized us to do that yet, Sam.

  207. samhenry says:

Arlene – the point is that you SHOULD eat Cherrios; Cherrios should stop advertising itself as a drug under the FDA definition of what a drug is.

Oats are known to lower cholesterol.
Broccoli does whater, carrots have another role and on and on about good foods. These foods are whole and natural and are NOT advertised as making changes in you like lowering your cholesterol ON THEIR LABELS.

Cherrios has a labeling problem. It is labeling itself as a drug. I know this is a confusing issue and I am not the clearest thinker in the world.

  208. samhenry says:

FOX – the channel FOX didn’t get into either the source for their info or whether or not we would do it in concert with the UN. The USS John McCain, a Navy destroyer, is positioning itself in case it gets orders to intercept the ship Kang Nam as soon as it leaves the vicinity off the coast of China, according to a senior U.S. defense official. The order to inderdict has not been given yet, but the ship is moving into the area.

“Permission has not been requested. Nor is it clear it will be,” a military source told FOX News. “This is a very delicate situation and no one is interested in precipitating a confrontation.”

The ship left a port in North Korea Wednesday and appears to be heading toward Singapore, according to a senior U.S. military source. The vessel, which the military has been tracking since its departure, could be carrying weaponry, missile parts or nuclear materials, a violation of U.N. Resolution 1874, which put sanctions in place against Pyongyang.

Can you tell me (explain) why the commander in thief didn’t go all this to Quaker Oatmeal?
They say essentially the same thing, I thought.

    What is the difference here?

  217. samhenry says:

Just when I sign off, along comes that mutt in the convertible. GEEZE. Those long ears are for listening and hey holes I guess.

WG – I surmise that he went after Cherrios for two reasons: It probably is the brand that dominates the marketplace and it has a box emblazoned with words that say if you eat the product, you will reduce your cholesterol. This is like labeling on a bottle of medicine and the FDA regulates medicine (drugs), cosmetics and foods (prepared mostly). The FDA was set up to protect us. We don’t need to be misled in what pills we take; what foods we eat; what we slather on our skin. It could be detrimental to our health – even kill us. It is detrimental to us to believe that Cherrios can do for us what a cholesterol lowering pill can do. The FDA does not want you to eat cereal when you should be under a doctor’s care if you have a real problem. Cherrios claims it has all kinds of data but under what circumstances was it gathered and interpreted? If you are going to set yourself as a drug, you need to put in a New Drug Application and have clinical trials and data overseen by the FDA. Cherrios doesn’t want to be a drug. They want to be a food – a food with a label that is not misleading – that might include the word “may” then”reduce cholestero.” I hope this helps. This is an important issue among important issues.

  218. I just got this off Cherios site: As part of a heart healthy diet, the soluble fiber in Cheerios®, Honey Nut Cheerios®, and Berry Burst Cheerios® can help reduce your cholesterol!

got this off Q. Oats site: Quaker Oats are simply good for your heart. We’ve been in the business of making heart healthy foods since 1901, and we’re committed to suporting your health. We believe that one of the best methods of fighting heart disease is prevention.
*3g of soluble fiber daily from oatmeal, in a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease.

Ok, I see what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

SH, I’m not saying your stance is good/bad/wrong, I’m just saying why the heck is Obma doing this when Oatmeal says the same thing????? AND we have possible NUCLEAR Missles pointed at us, AND he announced TODAY that we are cutting Ballistic Missle Defense Money.

When he’s trying to sugar coat all the ILLEGALS here in American so he can get himself relected.

FIRST OFF HE’S NOT EVEN LEGAL TO HOLD THE POSITION he’s usurping. gaaaaah.

Sorry honey but he disgusts me and we as a nation of those not wanting his DICTATORSHIP are being dragged kicking and screaming and being FORCED (having it shoved down our throats) and this is just one more way to DIVERT attention to his screw ups.

I agree high cholesteral and high triglycerids (of which I am gentically prone) do concern me.

So, it is a valid concern. But one the President is HYPING up???????? what the heck?

Illigal Immigration, Securing our borders, UNEMPLOYMENT, and many other issues deserve National attention not freakin Cherrios.

  219. karmahd says:

one brain cell working, Question, do I now have to go to my doctor to eat Cherrios?? This must be part of Obamawamas health care plan, the insanity of how egocentric this guy is blows my mind….I will rule the world by controlling cereal, yessss the world is mineeeeeee Yatttt aattt ahhhhh

  221. samhenry says:

WG and Karm – the problem here is one of FDA Law – which I took at Temple U in order to work in the Pharma industry. It is a very complicated issue. Trust me, it is no small thing this Cherrios business. I am just not expressing the underlying regulations and ideas well. Bottom line: eat well and visit your doctor regularly.

  222. samhenry says:

Love Snidley. This show was of the best on TV and very talented people behind it. Miss it.

  223. I know and I agree, I for one am very happy that we do have the USDA. They do more than we imagine in protecting unsuspecting Americans from poor labeling of products for consumption. And for what they do.

I’m not saying that. I’m saying what I said, hahahah.

It is obvious from his so called Health Care Plan that he cares, NOTHING FOR Americas and their health. See my posts on health care.

So, in light of that, What the heck is he doing????

I KNOW! Diverting attention from the REAL Issues.

WG – I think he is throwing so much out there at us that he supposedly looks good for being busy but that may be a tactic for diverting us in some way and for some reason. I think he needs to stop going to dinners and luncheons and tend to business. While he has been in front of cameras today, the British Prime minister hauled in the Iranian Ambassador and told him in strong terms that remarks by the Ayatollah about Britain, etc. must be withdrawn and that the EU were in agreement in questioning the outcome of the election.

  228. samhenry says:

So FOX you also loved moose and squirrel. Bullwinkle was also my favorite – tried to be very erudite but like me, really didn’t know about violins.

  229. Foxwood says:

Well, I’m gonna try it again. Nite all. Maybe I can dream without dancing this time.

  230. Hey Sam, I agree there is some diverting going on here. I should get Marvin Gayes “Whats goin on?” But yes, I sorta kinda liked the Bill M youtube saying if Obma would quit trying to be a star and do business America would be better off.

They preach preventative medicine so folks won’t flood the ER. Rather than the admin. nick pick on Cheerios, they ought to make it easier for folks to shop the grocery aisles. If you’re diabetic expect to spend long hrs. hunting down the foods you need to buy.

The VA is so different from regular medical facilities. Not all vets get the same care at the VA. For instance, 2 vets suffered a heart attack. The younger 1 w/insurance will get plavix for life. The other who is elderly & has no insurance will get plavix for 1 month & prescribed ASPIRINS, dietary list, list of what to do/not to do, & followup in 6 months.

The VA has an almost day long “mandatory” class on dietary for vets who are identified as diabetic (or borderline). When they do a financial means test, some items can be deducted (out-of-pocket costs). This includes non-rx stuff (vitamins, aspirins, food items & anything else that the Dr. or provider recommends). They write it in the “electronic” medical record.

And cheerios, oatmeal, prunes, egg-beaters … etc.. are on the list. You get this list when you go to the VA dietary class.

Also, the VA Doctors prefer to “prescribe” certain foods to reduce cholesterol rather than prescribe the drug, mainly due to the co-pay & billings on the veteran’s private insurance. Also VA doctors are very restricted by bean counters who limit what drugs the VA pharmacy carries.

  232. arlenearmy says:

Also on labels of items used for medical purposes, check out Vicks.

If a vet has bad fungus jungle rot toe nails, the VA don’t want to give RX to fix it. They tell the vet to buy vicks vaporub to apply on the toe nails. I see nothing on Vicks label that says it can be used to cure toe nail fungus.

Maybe Vicks needs to go back to the FDA to be re-certified.

  233. Tellitlikeitis says:

This nineteen-year-old ex-cheerleader (now an Air Force Security Forces Sniper) was watching a road that led to a NATO military base when she observed a man digging by the road. She engaged the target (i.e., she shot him). Turned out he was a bomb maker for the Taliban and he was burying an IED that was to be detonated when a US patrol walked by 30 minutes later. It would have certainly killed and wounded several soldiers.

The interesting fact of this story is the shot was measured at 725 yards. She shot him as he was bent over burying the bomb. The shot went in his butt and through his mouth into the bomb which detonated; he was blown to pieces. The Air Force made a motivational poster of her:

(Folks, that’s a shot 25 yards longer than seven football fields!)
And the last thing that came out of his mouth..was..his ass!
    Allah Akbar

    GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!

This is fine. A doctor is in charge of making sure you eat what you need to. The front panel on a box of cereal isn’t doing it. I think we’re coming at the same thing from different directions.

  235. Hey Arlene!!!! Great Blog there girl. Yes you are so correct. EATING Grain/Bran of any kind is good for you.

Wow, so sad for our Veterans-Why isn’t some of that TRILLION DOLLARS going to Veterans?????? DOGGONEIT!
I’m doing my post for the TEA Party’s and just found we sent 2.6 mil to educate Chinese Prostitues on how to drink responsibly on the job…GO FIGURE.

The VA isn’t consistent. Sometimes its like the lottery. The WWII vets are getting the worst of it though. They are putting a value on one’s life & save up certain medicine for the younger vets; & do home-remedies on the elderly ones.

  237. Oh, Arlene that is so so so sad. What a shame. Truly a shame. Back to my Quesion?????

WHY DIDN’T SOME OF THAT Trillions of Dollars go for Veterans?????

All I can figure is that most vets don’t speak out. I remember when the government forced C.A.R.E.S. on vets, most vets would not say anything & thought it was a hoax. A local politician tried to accuse us of causing trouble when we tried to warn the veterans.

With C.A.R.E.S. a lot of VA facilities shut down & consolidated. So if a vet would normally go to VA WACO, they may be shipped out to another state.

There was a hearing in WACO several yrs. ago, for vets to voice their concerns about C.A.R.E.S. but participation was very low.

After the government got C.A.R.E.S. approved, the very veteran who dodged signing the petition to stop it, was the one who got kicked under the bus the hardest. One day, he had a seizure. We took him to Amarillo VA & they sent him to a civilian hospital due to some mental problems he had. When we got home, his wife told us that the hospital shipped him off to WACO. By the time we called WACO, we learned that a few hrs. later WACO VA sent him to another VA near Austin. The Veteran called us collect for assistance to get back home. He had no bus fare. No coat to wear & it was winter. The VA decided to medically discharge him but would not transport him back to where he was originally hospitalized. To this day, we don’t know if that veteran is dead or alive.
