Rape Is No Joke << Concerned Women For America

Rape is No Joke 6/12/2009
By Catherine Gainous

Imagine turning on the television to your favorite talk show, and watching the host crack jokes about President Obama’s daughters being raped and impregnated at a baseball game during the seventh-inning stretch.

Can you even begin to fathom the legitimate outrage that President Obama and his family would feel, or how the liberals would prepare for the inevitable war against the host and conservatives in general?

This week, David Letterman made several crude and heartless jokes regarding Governor Sarah Palin and her daughter on the Late Show with David Letterman. He described Gov. Palin’s style as that of a “slutty flight attendant,” and he even had the gall to attack her daughter viciously, saying that it must have been an “awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game,” when “her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.” The outrage from the left has yet to be heard.

Regardless of your political stripe, I think we can all agree that this has definitely crossed the line. Letterman’s jokes were at best, insensitive, and at the very core, they show the true hatefulness of his attitude towards women. His comments were highly offensive to Palin’s daughter, and to anyone who has ever dealt with the pain and trauma that come as a result of being a victim of rape. Rape is not “joke” material, as it involves a selfish man who has a warped view of women, and therefore has no qualms about abusing and objectifying women’s bodies to meet his own disgusting “needs.” This attack is not only against Sarah Palin and her family, but also against women’s dignity as a whole. As a woman, I am deeply disturbed by Mr. Letterman’s misogyny. How far have we reverted, that we allow a so-called “comedian” to make rape into something that will get him a few laughs at someone else’s expense, on national television, no less?

It is one thing to disagree with Palin’s politics, and another thing entirely to make vulgar jokes about her family when thousands of people are watching. Letterman apologized, but only for the joke about Palin’s daughter, and not the one about Sarah Palin’s style being that of a “slutty flight attendant.” However, Wendy Wright, President of Concerned Women for America, says that the apology is not enough. “It’s worse than poor taste; it reflects ugliness in him. He would never say something like that about a liberal woman. But rather than deal with issues and ideas, he denigrates her as a human being. The “apology” is not enough. He needs to change his attitude and prove his attitude has changed. He needs to show Sarah Palin the respect and dignity that she deserves.”

Dr. Janice Shaw Crouse, Director and Senior Fellow of CWA’s Beverly LaHaye Institute said, “David Letterman only apologized after he found out the daughter he ridiculed was Governor Palin’s 14-year-old daughter who attended the baseball game, not her 18-year-old daughter. Evidently, in Mr. Letterman’s world it is okay to make jokes about sexual violence against someone’s daughter, as long as the child is over 18. All women and parents should be outraged at this callous attitude towards rape.”

sorry vf, wasn’t implying that you condoned rush’s crass statements. When Rush said that, the blog revolution hadn’t started and I was out of touch with mainstream so I don’t remember the backlash he got. and I’m not justifying what letterman did. I think it was in very bad taste. I’m sure he weighed the pros and cons and decided that the publicity would be greater than the liability. Maybe he was wrong. Don Imus lost his job, but isn’t he back? It’s a fine line they cross between crude and unacceptable. I do think it’s reprehensible how Sarah’s children are exploited. It’s shameful.

I’m sure the news was traumatic for him and put stress on his body. What a shame.

He didn’t suffer from high blood pressure or high cholestrol. He didn’t smoke and he ate healthy. I guess I am assuming it was stress.

  43. rosehips says:

foxy, I found this wash post article that quotes rush saying that.
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/national/longterm/inaug/players/chelsea.htm

  44. Foxwood says:

Every blog post I’ve seen (and I haven’t seen a “news” website) has Rush saying the same thing, but the dates range from 1991 to 2004.

    Something stinks, to me.

  45. rosehips says:

foxy, you are a bit testy when it comes to Rush, no? I cannot believe that anyone can claim to have heard everything Rush ever said on the air in what? 17 years? That would be rather obsessive behavior, don’t you think? And you call me indoctrinated? If you listen that closely to Rush, you must be rather mad.

  46. ohiobelle says:

vf asked: How many fat people are on Obama welfare?

    I found this link:
    http://www.healthypeople.gov/Document/HTML/uih/uih_4.htm

  47. Foxwood says:

And again Rose, a different date.

It don’t smell right to me. But that’s just my brain working…

  48. Foxwood says:

    I know I’m right Rose.. That’s all.

  49. karmahd says:

Does anyone else see the specific attacks on Palin and other from the conservative movement a sign that they have no other retort?? In other words if they must resort to insults that really are not germane to the situation it just shows how shallow and pathetic they really are when it becomes personal?

Could it also be that these “pundits” really are a designed distraction so the focus is off of the BOMA?

Letterman is a very disturbed man, and out of that dysfunction comes his sardonic humor, which most of the time is harmless. But most individuals with this low level of self esteem, become bitter and attack when slighted, look what happened when McCain did not show for the Letterman taping, he rode his ass to no end, and I think he is still angry, and since McCain bowed to him, he took his anger out on Palin. Just a mentally disturbed pissed off unhappy person. His punishment, he has to live in his little private secluded hell.

As I stated the other day on a previous blog, the money for all this new “Change” is fiction, the money is not there, nor is the economy to generate the payment of these future value expenses. What we are seeing is the total destruction of a way of life which is calculated to further increase the NEED of big government. At this pace it will take the United States and the World economy decades to release us of the burden of this huge expansion of government. Our dollar will be worthless in a matter of quarters, not years, and China will own us. My question is everyone blind to this fact??? Or is the uneducated youth supporting the Bama out of ignorance and because “he is cool”?????

  50. rosehips says:

vf, there are too many fat people on welfare. empty calories are often gotten from white sugar products which are easy to come by cheap.
I think public assistance should not be used for unhealthy foods that lead to diabetes, heart disease and cancer. But don’t ask me how to decide what is healthy and what is not. There will always be a line of contention.

  51. VotingFemale says:

    gotta run…

    be back later

  52. VotingFemale says:

America… where poor people are fat…

that is not true of most countries… and poor people in other countries are envious of that…

  53. ohiobelle says:

Universal Health Care will be to Obama what Medicare/Medicaid was to Clinton; one of the worst tragedies of their presidency!

  54. rosehips says:

so karma, are you saying there is a conspiracy?

karma said: Could it also be that these “pundits” really are a designed distraction so the focus is off of the BOMA?

  55. karmahd says:

Second thing or something I forgot. I see everyone labeling what is fair media what is right what is left. I was working on a post on Unbiased Media sources, and you know what, I COULD NOT FIND ANY!!!! The biggest problem with media today is it is a pusher for causes, no more reporting the news, it all has a spin!!! It is very frustrating when you try to find source material and all of that material has an ulterior motive! The Fourth Branch of government is truly the media, and they wield as much if not more power than the politicians!

  56. ohiobelle says:

I have to get some things done as well.
I’ll check back in a little bit.

  57. rosehips says:

    see you later vf!

  58. rosehips says:

    see you late belle!

  59. karmahd says:

Rose, just look at the facts, I did not use the word conspiracy, nor will I, the results are not always planned, but the planting of the seed by the grower of the bush (LOL) has a definite outcome in mind. The media are LED to the answers or conclusions they do not come to them or report them in an unbiased nature is exactly what I am saying.

  60. rosehips says:

karma, sure makes it difficult when you try to make a point and noone can agree on a credible source of news. geesh.

  61. karmahd says:

Everyone runs when I get here???? WTF? Well I have to get back to work myself, we can finish this later Rose, not running from you but I have to be back in 15minutes. Ciao

  62. karmahd says:

My point exactly Rose, what is a credible source of the news, name them for me???

  63. Foxwood says:

Nothing on Youtube about Rush, Chelsea, and white house dog.

I’d of thought it would be there.

  64. Foxwood says:

I even did a search on the Rush website, but I suppose he would have gotten rid of the evidence.

  65. ohiobelle says:

Oh I just have to say one more thing before I go… I just knew that teleprompter couldn’t go with saying the word CRISIS!!!! UGH! I think it’s rich Obama now cares about our kids and grand kids!!!

    BBL..

  67. rosehips says:

Interesting analysis of Rush by Molly Ivins in 1996 Mother Jones Socialist Rag. She mentions the Chelsea incident in this article. I think Rush would have sued these publications if they printed lies.

I think you are wrong this time, foxy.

    http://www.motherjones.com/politics/1995/05/lyin-bully

  68. Foxwood says:

    I read that one also…

I wonder why if it was caught on the camera, why it’s not on youtube? I think Limbaugh must have enough money to have gotten rid of al video evidence…

  69. Foxwood says:

You know, Rose, While your doing your Google, Look at the sites (not many) that dispute the accusations.

  70. ohiobelle says:

Wow it looks like everybody has been busy today. I just got done with my “honey do” list so I guess I will workout and check back. Woooo this is my last week of the “honey do”!! lol
My luck it will probably be waiting for me when I get off work. lol

    I’ll check back!

  71. Foxwood says:

Read and think what you will:

On his TV show in 1992, a few days after the Presidential election, Rush Limbaugh was reviewing In/Out lists (a popular fad at the time):

Rush: In today’s New York Daily News right here, it’s the obligatory in-out list. Every time there’s a massive change somewhere, people are in, people are out. I’m now out. It says about me on here, Rush Limbaugh, loud-mouthed conservative and Bush favorite. He’s out.

Rush: In: A cute kid in the White House. Out: Cute dog in the White House.

Rush: Could we see the cute kid? Let’s take a look and see who is the cute kid in the White House.

A picture of the “cute dog” (Millie) appeared on the screen instead of the “cute kid” (Chelsea).

Rush: No, no, no. That’s not the kid.

Then a picture of Chelsea Clinton came on the screen and Rush said

    Rush: That’s the kid.

Rush apologized several times and told a story about how he had learned early in his career the importance of not making fun of someone’s appearance. He then apologized again and said

Rush: I’m sorry. I hope you will forgive me. I’m fatigued. I’m tired,

Before breaking to a commercial, Rush asked the audience what he could do to make amends for the incident and, in an odd, spontaneous joke, proceeded to spank himself.

Rush trying to make the most of a mistake. The fact that Al Franken had to use a fake version of events to argue his case tells us a lot. The real version has Rush talking about a “cute dog” as well as a “cute kid,” obviously not a set-up for calling the kid a dog.

It is not an assault on Chelsea, as her picture only comes up in the context of correcting the error.

Franken set up a fake joke, falsely accused Rush of trying to tell it: “Everyone knows the Clintons have a cat. Socks is the White House cat. But did you know there is a White House dog?”

Rush has always maintained the incident was an accident. On his show four days later, Rush offered an explanation to his audience. First, the show played, “Who’s sorry now” in the background and Limbaugh pointed to himself. Then he said:

Rush: Ladies and gentlemen, I’m sorry. Let me tell you very quickly what happened last Friday night. There was a new in list and new out list that was published in the newspaper. The writer said in, cute kid in the White House; out, cute dog in the White House. Could we show the cute dog in the White House who’s out, and they put up a picture of Chelsea Clinton back in the crew. And many of you people think that we did it on purpose to make a cheap comment on her appearance. And I’m terribly sorry. I don’t look, that takes no talent whatsoever and I have a lot of talent. I don’t need to get laughs by commenting on people’s looks, especially a young child who’s done nothing wrong. I mean, she can’t control the way she looks. And we really “we do not” we do not do that on this kind of show. So put a picture up of her now and so we can square this.

They then showed the picture of Chelsea Clinton. She had a displeased look on her face, as if to show that she was not too happy with the mistake.

  72. Foxwood says:

You can’t find a video, because it doesn’t exist.

  73. karmahd says:

Ok let me run this up the flag pole one more time!!! Anyone name me a unbiased news source??

You ignore me and I will put the voodoo bad karma on you!!!!!

  74. rosehips says:

foxy, I could not find any date or footage of the alleged statement, so I will concede that it may just be a vicious internet rumor but it does appear that both the Washington Post and Molly Ivins published the story, but they don’t cite a specific date and it just sounds vague. I do believe Rush would have cause to sue them for libel if he didn’t say it.

Regardless, I’m sorry I passed on an unsubstantiated accusation. I saw blogs with some people insisting it didn’t happen and others saying they saw it. But as one blogger very articulately stated, memory is not proof. Just because a commenter says they were flipping channels one time and saw Rush make the very statement doesn’t mean a thing. Just like you definitively saying it didn’t happen because you never saw it.

But the burden of proof should be on the one who said he said it. I can’t find proof. I give up.

  75. rosehips says:

karma, not sure if one exists. But if we could only find one we would all agree to trust. That would really help.

  76. rosehips says:

    karma, how was your day?

  77. Foxwood says:

    He doesn’t sue, he ignores.

  78. Foxwood says:

    Prime example. Sikes
He never said a word. Did he sue?

  79. karmahd says:

You waited to long to answer

  80. karmahd says:

ahh I should have refreshed before I posted the song, day was fine Rose, Hey Fox

  81. Foxwood says:

You are a believer in Astrology? I was born the same date as Rush. That is why we think alike.

  82. karmahd says:

The reason I was asking about the media, is that was going to be my next post, and I spent some free time trying to find an unbiased source, and shazammmmmm none found??

  83. rosehips says:

ahhh foxy, c’mon. not the obvious. I can’t watch Fox. my son gives me a hard time. He said he turned on the tv today and Karl Rove was on Fox saying that if Americans all get healthy, Obama’s proposed health plan will sink. huh?

but no, I said we need to find something we all trust. Fox doesn’t fit the bill, not for me at least. You said you trusted the wsj. that’s a start.

  84. Foxwood says:

He didn’t sue Wanda, he ignored her. He didn’t sue Franken, he ignored him.

  85. rosehips says:

What could Rush sue Sykes for? bad humor?

  86. karmahd says:

Fox what sign are you big boy???

  87. Foxwood says:

Fox is to left. They have Greta, Geroldo, Shep Smith, Juan Williams, they are too Libera. but compaired to CNN ABS NBS CBS and the rest, Fox is more center.

  88. rosehips says:

foxy, you born on same date as Rush? whoa.

  89. Foxwood says:

Can’t say Karma… that give Rose too much ammo.

  90. Foxwood says:

Just telling you Rose. I know Rush like every square inch of my glorious naked body.

  91. rosehips says:

well, gots errands to do. bbl. It’s been raining a little bit here.

  92. rosehips says:

lol foxy, I can find out rush’s bday in a flash!

  96. karmahd says:

  103. karmahd says:

Wow, he makes Little Richard seem like Julie Andrews

  104. Foxwood says:

I saw the show when it came on… It was a strange show. I think it was Friday the 13th or Halloween. I can’t remember. If you can find the CD, Voodoo Jive, Has alot of his work.

  105. ohiobelle says:

Hello all! Sorry not much time to blog tonight and tomorrow my husband and I are going hiking for most of the day but I will try to log on tomorrow.

I am going to enjoy my last week off work. lol

    Have a nice evening!!

  108. Foxwood says:

Odyssey?…. Sound like some kinda trip, man.

  109. m2 says:

  111. arlenearmy says:

Looks like I’m gonna be busy tonite w/my letters to get Letterman fired. Time to fire up the email list and fax machine.

We let Jamie Fox off the hook for what he did to Hannah Montana. And she was 15 yrs. old.

Any woman on this blog was ever 14 yrs. old … and any man who had a sister or daughter who is or was 14 yrs. old need to take a stand and take action to get Letterman removed.

  112. arlenearmy says:

    FOX
I’m not too pleased w/Geroldo, Shep Smith & Juan Williams. And recently Shep really pissed me off.

  113. karmahd says:

Who is going to pay for this!!!! I know this is about Letterman, and what he did is reprehensible but dang, we are sooooooo deep in debt and getting deeper every day, anyone who continues to vote for this should be thrown out of office next time they come up for a vote. It is totally bizarre how the party in charge can think they can get away with this. Also be aware, be very aware the new administration is putting laws into effect giving the treasure more power, you have not heard much about this they got there ass handed to them when they brought it up publicly, but now, the treasury will have the power to dictate the banking process in the US, and the power goes very deep. We are being taken over by the government, helooooooooooo people, wake the hell up Karma

  114. Foxwood says:

    Where there’s hope, there’s change!

  115. Foxwood says:

    Arlene,

I don’t know how anyone can say Fox News is right wing.

  116. rosehips says:

so do you think letterman will lose his job?

  117. karmahd says:

You asking me Rose, nope this helped his ratings when Conan was starting to take off. It was a well planned PT Barnum move that got him the attention he wanted, and CBS the ratings they desire. Bigger issues posted above…

  118. karmahd says:

Hey Rose check out the new pics I posted on my about page, Florida at its best.

  119. arlenearmy says:

I am watching Hannity’s late nite show. He is interviewing Al Sharpton.

Pardon my language VF, but Sharpton is full of shit. Sharpton dont think what Letterman said was worst than Don Imus.

  120. VotingFemale says:

    Morning dears…

  121. m2 says:

    Bwha ha ha ha…

Nancy Pelosi undermined our national security and the fabric of our country… did she lose her job?

Liberals don’t pay for their behavior.

rosehips say: so do you think letterman will lose his job?

  122. VotingFemale says:

Pelosi is now propped up… a leaning condemned building. She has been correctly recognized a hazard by a majority of Americans… re: her poll numbers.

I cant stay boo hoo hoo

    gotta run

  123. VotingFemale says:

    oh before I go…

A major advertizer pulled their advertizing from Letterman’s show in the wake of volumnous protest mail to them…

so it is reported… company? Embassy Suites

The protest is on for today inspite of a too late apollogy from Dave “The Perv” Letterman… who obviously is only sorry people are outraged and not that he did it…

  124. Foxwood says:

    Morning VF, M2.

  125. Foxwood says:

BRB, gotta shower or your not going to like me.

  126. rosehips says:

Here is what Khalid Shaikh Mohammed said about why he lied under CIA interrogation:

“I make up stories,” Mohammed said, describing in broken English an interrogation probably administered by the CIA concerning the location of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden. “Where is he? I don’t know. Then, he torture me,” Mohammed said of his interrogator. “Then I said, ‘Yes, he is in this area.’ ”

And I was told this is different than when I was a child and was whupped with a belt until I confessed to spraypainting my neighbors car, even though I didn’t do it. I think it describes what I did, and what most people will do, when under interrogation. If it’s torturous, it will only elicit more lies. You say what you think will get them to stop. Of course you do….

VF, the letterman campaign seems to be working although I’m not convinced he will be fired, but it should get the station’s attention. congrats.

  127. rosehips says:

    Dad: “did you do it?”
me: “no, I didn’t do it”
    Dad: whap whap
    Dad: “did you do it?”
me: “no, I didn’t do it”
    Dad: whap, whap
    Dad: “did you do it?”
    me: “yes, I did it”

Is that really the best way to get information or a confession?

  128. Foxwood says:

It’s not torture, and I disagree. I good instigator knows how to interrogate and get GOOD answers, which is why we got good information from KSM about the 3rd strike.

  129. Foxwood says:

You really need to be more informed to know how it works.

  130. rosehips says:

Here’s an article about a couple of guys from Spokane who helped train CIA interrogators. They got fired. Hmm… could it be because their methods weren’t effective?

Foxy, it’s already been determined not to work. It says so in the army field manual. Have you read it?

    http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2009/jun/16/cia-fires-spokane-psychologists-firm/

  131. rosehips says:

and foxy, where do you find accurate information about the efficacy of interrogation techniques? Maybe you know a CIA agent?

Foxy, star investigator: “Does waterboarding work?”
CIA agent: “Yes, it is a very effective method of obtaining information.”
Foxy, “Thank you, you have proven my point.”

  132. LisaInTX says:

    Morning all.
I’m pissed at McCain and his “FAKE” provada about the “Enhanced Interrogation techniques”. …..such a weak ass protest against something that even some of our special forces soldiers are put thru….GIVE me a break!!!

  133. Foxwood says:

I don’t care about any link. They don’t mean a thing to me. I can cite Oliver North and Dick Cheney that it works, and I know how it works and why it work, and the proof it works again is the stoppage of the 3re strike from the information from KSM.

  134. rosehips says:

Foxy: “I know that interrogation, done properly, is effective because if it wasn’t, Rush would say so on his talk show and since I have never heard him say interrogation doesn’t work, then OBVIOUSLY, it does.”

  135. Foxwood says:

    I can show you

If you can’t use common sense and read the information from KSM about the 3rd strike, your indoctrinated. It’s fact. It’s in the news.

  136. rosehips says:

hey lisa, I was just thinking bout you. how’s things girl?
I don’t mean to get your cackles raised this morning.

  137. LisaInTX says:

Letterman is a Leech, as are ALL that attack children, regardless of political sides.
Wrong is just flat out WRONG!!!

  138. Foxwood says:

And yes, I know people. And I know how it works. Let me take a break later and I’ll explain.

  139. Foxwood says:

You didn’t read that I know the how and why it works?

  140. LisaInTX says:

    Morning Rose—-no crackles here—lol
Just the usually protest of watching our Nation slip further and further into the grips of Socialism and Islam.

  141. Foxwood says:

    You hate Rush, huh?

  142. LisaInTX says:

    Morning Fox. ;-}
I agree about Rush. He very rarely says the ‘wrong’ thing—he is not a novice to make such mistakes and when someone says that he did, you can damn well bet, that his words have been taken completely out of context—-something the left does to EVERYONE that does not agree with them.

  143. Foxwood says:

You can’t tell that some people Lisa.

Rose, I’ll explain on my break, I got to get out of the house. I’t really common sense.

  144. LisaInTX says:

That comment was not a hit at you Rose, but you do tend to provide links to left leaning sites that use peoples comments to suit their own ends, who do not tell the whole truth.
Rush has proven time and time again his true character and when you see something showing him in a negative way, I’d go and find his entire segment and read it to get the whole meaning of what he REALLY said.

  145. Foxwood says:

Some people are predisposed to thinking he’s a lier and an ass because of all the lies the haters tell. The example yesterday is one of those lies.

  146. rosehips says:

see you later foxy. I found this. It states information that was garnered from KSM during interrogation. I would think those guys are trained to give false information.

    http://www.law.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/FTRIALS/moussaoui/sheikhstmt.pdf

  147. LisaInTX says:

    Well I gotta run too….work calls….see y’all later and have a great day!! :-}

  148. Foxwood says:

You can’t deny the news on the 3rd strike information from KSM, Rose. Common sense.

  149. rosehips says:

lisa, ok granted molly ivins was a lefty but I question why she would use a quote without substantiating it. Unless perhaps she knew Rush wouldn’t fight it.
I don’t get it. And yes, Mother Jones is just about as left as they come.
But, and there’s always a but, the sources everyone else on this site provide are equally extreme, but to the right.

We are trying to determine what sources we can all be content with. Otherwise, we will always be at stalemate.

  150. rosehips says:

from the Army field manual, which Obama signed an order stating that all interrogations in US custody must follow.

    1. On the disadvantages of torturing people in U.S. custody: “Use of torture is not only illegal but also it is a poor technique that yields unreliable results, may damage subsequent collection efforts, and can induce the source to say what he thinks the [interrogator] wants to hear. Use of torture can also have many possible negative consequences at national and international levels.”

    2. Prohibited interrogation methods that many would say constitute torture: “Forcing the detainee to be naked, perform sexual acts, or pose in a sexual manner; Placing hoods or sacks over the head of a detainee; using duct tape over the eyes; Applying beatings, electric shock, burns, or other forms of physical pain; “Waterboarding”; Using military working dogs; Inducing hypothermia or heat injury; Conducting mock executions; Depriving the detainee of necessary food, water, or medical care.”

    http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1873897,00.html

  151. LisaInTX says:

    Rose
The first thing that ‘strikes me’ from that file—-the word LAWYER in relationship to Captured Enemy Combatant. They go together like oil and water IMO and the two do not mix!!!
How about those Miranda rights on the battlefield??? LMAO…..HAHAHAHHAAA

  152. Foxwood says:

No stalemate with me. I don’t trust any of them. And you can’t cite Rush, because he does have some beliefs I can’t agree with.

  153. LisaInTX says:

    Rose
Obama has NEVER been in the Military and is TOTALLY CLUELESS!! He is like a muslim Stalin in his perceptions and we know how that turned out!!

  154. Foxwood says:

Don’t care Rose. I know what I know, the how and the why. Not working.

  155. rosehips says:

and foxy, I don’t hate Rush but I think he is just an opportunist. You always accuse me of being indoctrinated but I am not religious about any one news source so I don’t really get who is indoctrinating me. I do tend to trust left leaning publications but don’t rely on them totally for my news.
When I hear about how zealous some people are about Rush, it tends to make me feel that he has some superhuman power over people. That is cult-like and that is how people get indoctrinated.

  156. Foxwood says:

Like I said Rose. I can explain on my break.

  157. rosehips says:

man, a thunderstorm rolled through here last night that literally blew my front door open. I thought we were gonna get hit by lightening, the cracks of thunder were so loud.
Then the sirens started up so I think something did get hit.
The sirens are going off again right now.
It’s kinda chilly this morning. No global warming this summer yet.

  158. Foxwood says:

I’m going to explain it to you later on my break, Rose. But what’s going to happen is you won’t accept it and tell me I’m wrong, and I can already tell you your wrong.

  159. LisaInTX says:

The indoctrination is in our PUBLIC school systems and colleges. This have been a cluster-f… for a couple of generations now and is being proven in our society today by the lack of morality and the lack of American idealism.
We are all a part of it, but some have had benefit of parents or influences in life, that remembered the foundation of what our nation once stood for, while others did not.

  160. rosehips says:

lisa, that looks interesting. I have some things I need to do but will try to get back and read more of it. I got a start on it. would love to find out why I am a facist. heehee

I thought this quote interesting considering I was almost a lightening rod last night!

“If the bourgeoisie think they will find lightning conductors in us they are the more deceived; we must start work at once …. We want to accustom the working class to real and effectual leadership”.

  161. Foxwood says:

“When I hear about how zealous some people are about Rush, it tends to make me feel that he has some superhuman power over people. That is cult-like and that is how people get indoctrinated.”

    Guess you’ll never know…

And I guess you didn’t read.

  162. Foxwood says:

Rush speaks what I think, Rose. Not the other way around. You’ve never heard that before, because, again, your not informed.

  163. LisaInTX says:

    Rose
I hate storms like that! We get lightening bad here.
That last storm that came thru here knocked down a big tree across the road and our fence line….but we were very lucky, some got it much worse.

  164. Foxwood says:

Some don’t know they’re indoctrinated, Lisa. School did a good job, and the parents didn’t try to reverse it.

  165. Foxwood says:

Obama is a good example of our indoctrination system.

  166. m2 says:

Hi everyone, it’s thunder storming here… I’m sick of the rain.

About to take Miss E to build-a-bear workshop with her grammy for her 2nd birthday today…

    ttyl!

  167. m2 says:

The new PC-religion apart from Islam is Liberalism… talk about indoctrination… lol.

Obama is the only cult of personality out there with the power to ruin your life, your children and grand children’s life. Not Limbaugh.

  168. LisaInTX says:

    Rose
I’m a TRUE “Liberal” in the essense of the word. Not in what ‘THEY” the left has made it into being.
“They” have twisted the true meanings of words and Obama is the master of this guise and a product of the lip twisters of this nation.
Forked tongues and no truth to be found, only personal agendas to promote power, greed and control over our lives.

    I really gotta run….see ya later girl—stay outta trouble…lol

  169. LisaInTX says:

Hi M2…see ya later and I agree with ya…

  170. rosehips says:

whoa, foxy. you are worse than I thought. Rush has hijacked your brain! hahahahaha

foxy said: Rush speaks what I think, Rose. Not the other way around. You’ve never heard that before, because, again, your not informed.

  171. samiam60 says:

Good Morning all my friends and then Rose said:

Foxy: “I know that interrogation, done properly, is effective because if it wasn’t, Rush would say so on his talk show and since I have never heard him say interrogation doesn’t work, then OBVIOUSLY, it does.”

And Samiam replied: You are learning Weed Hopper 🙂

  172. rosehips says:

be productive and keep it truthful lisa gurl.

  173. samiam60 says:

Soon you will snatch the Pebble from my hand :):)

  174. rosehips says:

    lol, sam. love the weedhopper.

  175. samiam60 says:

Thats my spin on things this morning. No cycle intended 🙂

  176. rosehips says:

second cup of coffee, bagel and cream cheese, yum….

    dishes waiting, bah

  177. Foxwood says:

“When I hear about how zealous some people are about Rush, it tends to make me feel that he has some superhuman power over people. That is cult-like and that is how people get indoctrinated.”

That’s the typical liberal bilge that I’ve seen on the leftwit blogs. The people that found Rush like him because he says what they think in public.

  178. samiam60 says:

Thank you for that one Fox. I could not have said it better. That is the only way the Left Extremist can minnimelize what Rush has to say. The Truth scares the hibby Gibbies outa the Libs.

  179. rosehips says:

he says what they think…then he inhabits their mind. wheeeee…..

foxy said: That’s the typical liberal bilge that I’ve seen on the leftwit blogs. The people that found Rush like him because he says what they think in public.

  180. samiam60 says:

The Left wingers cannot come into the light for fear their deeds would be exposed. They hate the light and truth and common sense.

  181. Foxwood says:

    Truth said, Sam.

  182. samiam60 says:

Hmmm, must be to bright in here?

  183. samiam60 says:

Rose let me respond to your next comment in advance:
    Barf, Phew

  184. rosehips says:

HAHAHAHA….I was in the dark, watching a youtube of a Rush monologue.

I am getting off my anti-Rush soapbox now and am going into chore mode.

    bbl.

  185. Foxwood says:

I used to be a dope smoking hippy freak, Rose. I grew up.

  186. samiam60 says:

And thats the way is was 6/16/2009, Gooood Dayyyyyyy

  187. Foxwood says:

    See you latter, Paul.

  188. Foxwood says:

  190. Foxwood says:

Victim: “Garglegarlgegarglegargle, – HACK… cough, choke!”

Interogator: “Ok, again. Tell me what I want to know.”

Victim: “I didn’t put the bomb in the room, I swear!”

    Interigator: “Dunk him again!”

Victim: “Garglegag gulp gulp gargle, – HACK… choke, cough!”

    Interigator: “Again, talk to me.”

    Victim: “I told you, I didn’t put the bomb…”

    Interigator: “Your lying!”

    Victim: “You can’t possibly know…”

Interigator: “We have the real bomber who confessed and we caught him with the evidence. We know lied. Dunk him!”

Victim: “Garglegarglegarglegulp, – HACK… gag, choke.”

Interigator: “Now I want the papers.”

Victim: “Yes, yes, I have the papers. There in the back pack!”

Interigator: “What do you want me to do, boss?”

Foxwood: Give me the papers, flush the toilet, and let Dougie get back to class. I want to stink bomb the restroom.”

    ———————————-

The interrogation technique is to have known information the terrorist doesn’t know you know first, and get them to tell the truth about it.

You alternate known information with the info you ned to know. You do this several times to get consistent answers.

How did we get the information from KSM about the 3rd attack then, Rose? Explain it to me. Interrogation works.

  191. Foxwood says:

A good interrogator can get answers. Don’t let the lefties fool you.

  192. Foxwood says:

    It’s really an art form.

  193. Foxwood says:

Another transparent thing going on is the firing of the Inspector General. He had some goods on one of Os friends, so O canned him.

Last year Senator O signed on with a bill that makes the President have to give Congress a good reason to fire the IG, and then give the IG 30 days.

So much for laws as well.

    All animal are created equal…
but some animals are more equal that others.

  194. samiam60 says:

  206. samiam60 says:

Stay safe Fox, Be back tonight myself.

  207. Foxwood says:

Ok… my next investigation. GE got tarp money. No drive by media talks about it.

  208. Foxwood says:

Damn! Hamas Terrorists just missed former President Jimmy Carter, who was on his way to partition to take Hamas off the terrorist list. He’s still going to partition. What a loon.

  209. Foxwood says:

    Attention all Ditto Heads:
    Your supreme leader is on!
    Have a nice day.

  210. Foxwood says:

  216. Foxwood says:

WND would be a good news source to use.

You know what the problem is with that article, Lisa?

    Biden would be President.

    HAHAHAHAHA!

  217. rosehips says:

    hahahaha
we can do it like jury selection, we can eliminate 3 newssources each right from the start. I go first.

    1. Fox News
    2. WND
    3. The Washington Times

    ok, your turn…

  218. Foxwood says:

I don’t understand what the deal is with the word terrorist. We can’t call them terrorists. We can’t interrogate them. We give them rights. And we pay for them to live on tropical paradises.

Not if, but WHEN we get hit again, O is a gonner.

  219. rosehips says:

I went down to the courthouse and watched some hearings. It was pretty interesting.
    arraignments, pleas, continuances etc.

There was a soldier there who offered an “Alford plea” pleading guilty to assault. He was in a bar fight.
His attorney implied that there is a trend in the bar to pick on military and target them and I guess bait them into assaults. He accused the bouncer of being complicit. Don’t know if that is really happening or not, but I thought it was a good try to get sympathy from the judge. He got a $5000. fine and suspended sentence.

Man, the judge and all the attorneys seem to be scrambling all the time. It’s kind of like a game.

  220. rosehips says:

justice is a rare thing. our courts are all about avoiding trials to save money. justice isn’t served, it negotiated.

  221. Foxwood says:

I just heard this, but I don’t know if I can trust my memory from the time I heard it to the time I typed it in.

Rush just made mention that he does not sue, because he doesn’t believe that Americans should be sue happy.

    Hmmmmm…..

  222. look at what they did to imus???? go figure???

  223. Foxwood says:

Hmmm… Obama has GE, therefor NBC, and now ABC will have a setup in the whitehouse. Talk about 1984. Kinda also reminds me of the Communist Manifesto.

  224. Foxwood says:

I thought this was a drive by, WG. I didn’t mean to bump into you. I didn’t smell did I?

  225. Foxwood says:

    Saul Alinsky –
Change, not by violence, but by slowly eroding principles.

Obama wants change, we (you not me) voted for change. Now we’re going to get it.

Read Alinky and know your leader.

    Saul Alinsky

  227. Foxwood says:

Iran is rioting, and the media has been thrown out.
    Hmmmmm…..
Wonder whats next? Executions in the streets?

  228. Foxwood says:

At the close of the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia on September 18, 1787, a Mrs. Powel anxiously awaited the results, and as Benjamin Franklin emerged from the long task now finished, asked him directly: “Well Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” “A republic if you can keep it” responded Franklin.

    Damn, we’ve already lost it.

  229. karmahd says:

    bully pulpit
    n. An advantageous position, as for making one’s views known or rallying support: “The presidency had been transformed from a bully pulpit on Pennsylvania Avenue to a stage the size of the world” (Hugh Sidey).

Although this term has several meanings, I believe it best fits the current situation. As I think Foxwood stated now ABC is jumping on board the Obamanation train to never ending debt and demise, and will air an hour long commercial on Health Care?? This situation is becoming UNTENABLE!!!

  230. Foxwood says:

If you don’t see what’s coming, you’ve been asleep, indoctrinated, or your a full blown Commie, because this crap is right out of the Communist Manifesto.

  231. LisaInTX says:

    Dear Fellow Patriot,

We need to Take Back America for those conservatives who work hard and pay taxes, only to see big-government spenders in Washington, D.C. squander the public’s money on frivolous and freedom-reducing projects.

On July 4 in Austin, we will provide a platform for the “silent” majority to make their voices heard all the way to Washington, D.C.!

Please plan to join us as we send a clear message to the federal government to cut the spending, cut the taxes, shrink the government and re-read the Constitution!

    “Take Back America” Tea Party
    Date: Saturday, July 4, 2009
Location: Texas State Capitol South Steps, 1100 Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas
    Program: 2:00pm – 4:00pm / BBQ: 4:30pm – 6:30pm http://www.AustinReTeaParty.com

The Tea Party will feature live music, invigorating speakers (including friend-of-the-taxpayer U.S. Congressman Louie Gohmert & State Representative Wayne Christian) and good ol’ Texas BBQ!

The barbeque will be provided free-of-charge, but we will be asking for a minimum $7 donation per serving to help offset the cost of food.

  232. karmahd says:

Wow I would like to make that one Lisa!!!

  233. Foxwood says:

Don’t know if I can make that one Lisa. But I am going to hit a local one.

Karma, read the post. Hope the next Conservative candidate will get the message.

  234. karmahd says:

Yep Foxwood, the internet is the key!

  235. Foxwood says:

Keep an eye and ear open on what O does about the riots in Iran. It could give you some insight.

  236. Foxwood says:

I was going to ask you if you’ve seen any turtles lately.

  237. karmahd says:

He is not going to do anything, he is a supporter of Ineedajob

  238. Foxwood says:

What I’m saying is if we have protests here, what he says and does about Iran could be an insight.

  239. Foxwood says:

  245. Foxwood says:

I missed Oreilly. What did he say?

  246. arlenearmy says:

    Fox
I dont know the full story or whose right or wrong. But the Oklahoma news is on fire since Oreilly & Geraldo came down here. Some folks say that Oreilly & Geraldo are covering their butts for false reporting. They are accusing a judge & DA of messing up a child molestation case. Some folks have been rounding up citizens to go to that town to rally in front of court house. We did not go down there TO rally against them, because we don’t know the truth of the matter. We drove by the court house the other day just to see if Geraldo would be on the scene, but we did not see any rally. Maybe it got canceled.

The 1st time I heard of this was on Oreilly. Now its in Oklahoma news EVERY DAY.

  247. karmahd says:

Okaie Donkey, Foxwood. Time for a media post, I have to get sumptin up!!

  255. samiam60 says:

    LET’S ROLL:

  256. samiam60 says:

Morning VF, Sorry about the double post. Maybe you can fix my early morning mistake?

  257. Foxwood says:

Americorp’s Inspector General was fired yesterday by O. He did finally give Congress notice, but did not give 30 days notice as is the law.

O voted for this law last year when he was Senator. But as President, has ignored this law. His reasons for the IGs removal is ‘he’s confused and disoriented’.

The real reason is the IG was doing his job and investigating a friend of Os, the mayor of Sacramento.

The real story behind this is there is no coverage from CBS and NBS. ABS is covering it, but does not tell of the IGs investigation or the ignoring of 30 day notice. Only Fox is giving this story full coverage.

I didn’t check Commie News Net. Who cares.

  258. Foxwood says:

I research for an hour and I miss everything.

  259. Foxwood says:

    Morning Sam, VF.

  260. rosehips says:

sam, thanks for the Postman clip. It sure brings back memories. That scene with Kevin Costner dancing with the lights (that’s showing on the still above) is the set I visited when they were filming near me. I was looking for people I know in this trailer, but didn’t catch anyone.

I really liked that flick and don’t know why it got panned so badly. It won the “raspberry award” that year for being the worst movie. sigh.

Good morning vf, foxy, sam et al!

  261. samiam60 says:

Morning Foxwood, we sure did have fun yesterday.

  262. samiam60 says:

High Rose, how are ya today?

  263. samiam60 says:

    Thought this was fitting…

  270. why is that you guys always talking about being stinkY? ahahahahah

i mean we all know boys and guys are just musty! ahahahah

  271. rosehips says:

foxy, yes Obama had to backtrack on the 30 day notice, but you and Fox news are just speculating…but the way you word it, you make it looks like all the facts are in and Obama is already guilty.
Maybe the other media sources didn’t see it as an earth-shattering scandal like Fox does. Must have been a slow day?

foxy said: The real reason is the IG was doing his job and investigating a friend of Os, the mayor of Sacramento.

The real story behind this is there is no coverage from CBS and NBS. ABS is covering it, but does not tell of the IGs investigation or the ignoring of 30 day notice. Only Fox is giving this story full coverage.

  272. rosehips says:

and foxy funny how you manage to get that obama and kevin johnson are “friends.”

wonder where you found that out? I saw that Johnson is an “Obama supporter.” Does this make them friends, or do you have credible info showing that they are friends?

foxy said: foxy said: The real reason is the IG was doing his job and investigating a friend of Os, the mayor of Sacramento.

  277. Foxwood says:

  278. samiam60 says:

Ahhhhhhhh Thank God for Irish Spring

  279. rosehips says:

foxy, stating that you did your fact check does not give you one iota of credibility. If you won’t cite your source, you are obviously hiding something or perhaps you have not one shred of evidence to show a friendship?

I read Fox’s account of the story and I saw no mention of a friendship. If you can’t prove there is even an association, your claim is nothing but a bunch of baloney.

Here’s where the AP mentions them as “friends” in the headline, but then goes on to say that Johnson is “an Obama supporter and a former NBA star” hmmmm…maybe all basketball stars who support Obama are his friends?

  281. Foxwood says:

“foxy, stating that you did your fact check does not give you one iota of credibility. If you won’t cite your source, you are obviously hiding something or perhaps you have not one shred of evidence to show a friendship?”

I don’t cite sources just because you poop on them Rose. I knew you would. Just so much as I can say your souces are liberal Crap.
