Merrill Lynch gave $3.6 Billion in “Performance” Bonuses during $15 Billion Loss

kucinich

On Dec 8, 2008 Merrill Lynch paid out $3.6 Billion in performance bonuses to its top Execs prior to announcing their fourth-quarter loss of $15 billion.

The real question is…

Who in Congress knew What about these Bonuses and When did they know it and Why are we just now hearing about this?

And what was known about this as the DEM Congress brokered a deal for Bank of America to buy Merrill Lynch with funds that included $10 Billion given to Bank of America to close the deal?

Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich (D-Ohio) (seen above), chairman of the domestic policy subcommittee of the House Oversight and Government Reform panel, just opened an investigation to get to the bottom of this whole mess.

Details so far…

Congress Questions Whether U.S. Knew of Merrill Bonuses

Washington Post Staff Writer
Tuesday, March 31, 2009; Page A13

The chairman of a congressional oversight panel has opened an investigation into what federal officials knew about $3.6 billion in bonuses paid to Merrill Lynch employees after the government spent billions of dollars in bailout funds to help save the company from failure by arranging its sale to Bank of America.

Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich (D-Ohio), chairman of the domestic policy subcommittee of the House Oversight and Government Reform panel, said he was concerned about the payments because they were 22 times larger than bonuses to insurance giant American International Group, which created a political firestorm.

The government awarded Bank of America $10 billion to help it complete the acquisition and provided the bank a federal guarantee to limit its potential losses on about $118 billion of assets largely inherited from Merrill Lynch as part of the sale.

Kucinich questioned whether government officials knew about the bonuses while they were overseeing the sale of Merrill Lynch. He sent letters yesterday to Bank of America, the Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve requesting all documents and communication related to the bonuses.

“This raises important questions about what you knew about the Merrill bonuses, and what you did with your knowledge,” Kucinich wrote to Fed Chairman Ben S. Bernanke. “If ordinary [Bank of America] shareholders were ignorant of the details of the Merrill bonus arrangement, was the U.S. government as well?”

Kucinich noted that the bonuses were determined on Dec. 8, unusually early for the company and before a fourth-quarter loss of $15 billion was announced.

The congressional probe follows similar inquiries by New York Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo and Neil M. Barofsky, the special inspector general for the financial system’s bailout, into the Merrill Lynch bonuses. In response to a request from Cuomo, a New York state judge two weeks ago ordered Bank of America to disclose information about the bonuses.

Scott Silvestri, a spokesman for Bank of America, and Michelle A. Smith, a spokeswoman for the Fed, declined to comment on Kucinich’s letters. A Treasury spokesman did not respond to a request for comment.

mmmm…. I can not wait to see which Congressmen knew what and when

  2. rosehips says:

I’m glad my man Dennis is on it. I don’t trust any member of Congress more. I trust he will find out who knew what and with whom. can’t wait.

  3. rosehips says:

and I just think Dennis Kucinich is the cutest thing.

  4. VotingFemale says:

He looks like a much older and whiter version of Barack in some ways… I, instead, go for the rugged types 😉 say… like Sam Elliot and Paul Sr. lol

  5. karmahd says:

God Denny K looks like a Hobbit

  6. karmahd says:

Hmm I guess these bonuses slipped by the press. I am still amazed what Obama said at the G20 about America not taking a lead in the world economy?? Does that mean that we will not support third world countries with aid like we once did. And is this really a plan to level out the playing field and kill capitalism, I think so!

  7. VotingFemale says:

karma, she is probably trying to figure out who Paul Sr is… hehehehe

  8. VotingFemale says:

Obama is systematically destroying the US Economy… and he knows it…

  9. rosehips says:

    vf, who is Paul Sr?

  10. karmahd says:

I agree with that assessment. What I found interesting about the Radical Left and Saul Alinsky was the method of dealing with detractors, it was basically by rightious indignation, attack, blame, bring up the past, deflect blame on the other party, all methods of key Ireporters.

  11. VotingFemale says:

m2elana, I agree with Rose… that statue of Lenin with an anal blowout is too funny for words!!!!!

    hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  12. karmahd says:

    Orange county Paul SR.

  13. VotingFemale says:

    yup… teddy bear type

    padada-padada-padada….

  14. rosehips says:

orange county? like vroom vroom? way over my head. lol

    yup….. heart of gold

  17. karmahd says:

Wow North Korea is really drawing this missile launch out, what a test of power that is. So Obama has sold our country out do you agree. He is following the Alinsky plan to the T

  18. rosehips says:

well I like rugged men too. But I find hobbits rather cute and endearing as well.

  19. rosehips says:

gawd, japan is between a rock and a hard place. it’s scary.

  20. karmahd says:

And if you have a Hobbit hey can live under your staircase, very efficient as to space

  21. rosehips says:

yes, I like their sense of practicality and frugality karma.

  22. karmahd says:

Yeah, I am more concerned about the G20 meeting, a new world order is in the works here!!

  23. rosehips says:

I think it is inevitable. Let’s face it, our power has been diminished.

  24. karmahd says:

but rockets pointed at who knows were is also an attention getter??

  25. rosehips says:

isn’t Alaska the nearest US target? Sarah better get the snowmobiles lubed up. lol.

  26. VotingFemale says:

VFFN has determined a weekend launch is planned barring technical issues. If Obama decides it is be shot down he will make them vewy vewy mad. Poor ole NObama… no breaks for the Novice-In-Cheap

    karmahd says

Wow North Korea is really drawing this missile launch out, what a test of power that is. So Obama has sold our country out do you agree. He is following the Alinsky plan to the T

  27. karmahd says:

Well our power has really not been diminished as compared to the rest of the world, that is a myth that is being pushed by this administration. There is no other economy in the world that can pull us out of the current problem. Think about it, if we do not consume as we did prior to this, that reduces the need for products to fuel the emerging markets growth, so in effect that reduces those economies to internal consumption, and reduced trade, this will further plunge the world economy in to a tailspin

  28. rosehips says:

    ohhhh vf has a scoop?

  29. karmahd says:

Well our 50th state is pretty close to or was Hawaii our 49th state,???

  30. VotingFemale says:

Alaska and Hawaii are protected by the US Navy with anti-missile missiles. Japan is protected by the Japanese Navy…

A lot depends on the flight path and whether it is a successful launch.

  31. rosehips says:

what about inflation karma? won’t that devestate the third world. what to do about that?

  32. karmahd says:

Well that makes sense, bigger TV viewership, people can watch and get instant news

  33. VotingFemale says:

    Alaska #49
    Hawaii #50

  34. VotingFemale says:

If the world disconnects from the dollar as the international trade currency… Obama can limit economic destruction to the US.

    rosehips says

what about inflation karma? won’t that devestate the third world. what to do about that?

  35. karmahd says:

Well yes inflation will hurt anyone who invested in US government bonds over the last 10 years, IE; China, they are pissed and do not want Obama to be so out of control with his spending, that is going to lead to hyper inflation, where all the bonds China purchased will be worth much less some say in the area of 40 cents on the dollar!!! This is why they are pissed

  36. karmahd says:

How do you figure that VF??

“If the world disconnects from the dollar as the international trade currency… Obama can limit economic destruction to the US.”

  37. karmahd says:

The only way for the US bonds sold to China not to have an effect is to not make good on them.

  38. VotingFemale says:

yes… foreign investers would want the bonds converted to a no-inflation currency…

and Obama’s $2 Trillion printing of funny money is a guarentee we will get racked with inflation…

Obama’s $2 Trillion Debt Monetizing of Toxic Assets will assure inflation… plus his plans to borrow $1 Trillion a year for as far into the future as the eye can see.

  39. rosehips says:

It is difficult for me to grasp. I think we are doomed if we do, doomed if we don’t.

  40. rosehips says:

anything obama does will get other countries and his own countrymen pissed off.

  41. karmahd says:

Interesting, dont know what the goal of this post is??

    http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-238885

  42. VotingFemale says:

    doomed if we don’t?

I fail to see facts to support that…

  43. karmahd says:

Well how about this, stop spending money, cut government spending, dump all the extra programs that are now being initiated, get the books in order before throwing gas on the fire. NO one in europe can figure out what he is trying to do, it does not make sence from an economic standpoint??

  44. VotingFemale says:

numbersdude wrote it for one reason…

He is fishing for a fight…

  45. rosehips says:

Facts vf? lol. I’ll need to do a Rasputin Report to show the facts of doom. lol

  46. rosehips says:

but what about the people that will benefit from the programs? what do we do with all the unemployed, homeless people?

  47. karmahd says:

Create economic turmoil, create dissonance with the public, install marshal law, take the guns to insure law, quite the naysayers, IE; the press, Beck, Limbaugh, Hannity, I would not be startled to find out that this will take place or that is the hope of this adminsitration

  48. VotingFemale says:

    I am all ears, dear.

Come with facts that support the contention that the US is doomed if we dont borrow the Government into Debt to the tune of 10 Trillion at a $1 Trillion a year for the next 10 years on top of the 2009 boosting of the national debt from $200 Billion it was for 2008 to $4.1 Trillion it will be for 2009.

    rosehips wrote:

Facts vf? lol. I’ll need to do a Rasputin Report to show the facts of doom. lol

  49. karmahd says:

Rose I am close to be both of those, unemployed and homeless, and I do not support the handouts the way this is taking place. We could have solved this issue long ago or at least months ago. Why do you think the stock market has tanked since the take over, yes it has come back some, but that is short term profit taking, There is no confidence in Obama to turn around the economy with what they have seen. Gethiner is a puppet and a has proven to be totally unrealiable in what he says. We still do not have a plan to bail out homeowners, the tarp funds have been forced on banks in an effort to socialize banking? It is all so obvious to me now

  50. rosehips says:

vf, the economic turmoil of doing nothing will throw this country into civil unrest. See how quick they take our guns away when that happens.
I base my theory on prehistoric evidence of what happens when an empire collapses.

  51. rosehips says:

karma, I agree that handouts are not the answer. Gov’t programs are rarely run efficiently. Corporations have been allowed to deceive us and stockholders control business decisions and by their nature are profit-centric. I don’t trust corporations to save us.

  52. rosehips says:

The world is flat. There are billions of people around the globe who want our jobs. How can we keep jobs onshore?

  53. VotingFemale says:

A strong economy and a strong dollar is the only way out of this mess. Obama could brorrow a Trillion Trillion Trillion Dollars and when it breaks the back of the economy we are all going to be homeless.

    rosehips says

but what about the people that will benefit from the programs? what do we do with all the unemployed, homeless people?

  54. karmahd says:

Rose we have one major problem that has snowballed into the assumption that the greed of the last 8 years has brought us to this point, BULL SHIT. The housing bubble burst, and the slow to take action of the Bush administration in its waining months, then the capitalizing by the new administration to “strike while the iron was hot and public opinion was high” is what has led us to today. The new administration is taking advantage of the propaganda that our system is flawed!!! It is not flawed and they have sold that to the mindless dolts who follow Obama and believe he is the smartest thing since Plato, just rampant bull shit and baseless propaganda to take advantage and instill there own system to better serve the poor and knock the rich off the block!!

  55. rosehips says:

I realize the risk and have no great illusions that obama’s plan is going to return us anywhere near what we once had. I am on the lookout for good deals on tents. I think tent cities will grow in the coming days….

  56. karmahd says:

It does not have to be that way (tents), this can be fixed, I am going to be real curious as to how and who votes for the gianormus budget. I will vote against anyone who supports this budget when I get the chance. The politicans are totally corrupt!!!

  57. VotingFemale says:

Meanwhile NO KO is daring Obama to shoot down it’s missile while he hob knobs in London with his Socialist pals like PM Brown.

Personally I don’t think Obama has the right stuff to make the correct decision… it needs to be shot down and NO KO needs its bluff called.

  58. karmahd says:

I am kind of glad I am going back to work and will not be able to be online all day, I am starting to get very pissed off, that is not a good thing!!!

  59. VotingFemale says:

It’s a damn piss-ant country bullying the world… and needs it’s BS knocked down. And if it is war they want? go for it NOKO

  60. karmahd says:

Question: How come the Bama administration is spending all this money, and they are asking us to sacrifice?? more BULL SHIT, they want to insure they have jobs, create the illusion that we need them?? Does anyone remember that they work for us!!!

  61. karmahd says:

OK topic change, yes NO KO is testing the new man at the switch, and I agree he will try to talk them down while they gain in power in the world theater

  62. rosehips says:

ok karma…I don’t want to argue over motives for why the markets exploded. But I will always look at the big picture and ultimately our environment will be what saves us or kills us. Houses won’t matter if we have no water. If drought continues, we will have food shortages. It’s happening in Africa, Haiti and it’s happened to every civilization. Social unrest, war, genocide are all realities in places like Rwanda, but the worst is yet to come.
The difference between now and the distant past is that it’s a lot harder to protect ourselves from nuclear attack than it was from spears and clubs.

  63. VotingFemale says:

Obama is finding out… there is a WORLD of difference between Socialist Community Organizing and running a campaign… and Running the Most Powerful Country the world has ever seen… and everytime he turns around he is stepping in crap because of his lack of experience and unrealistic Socialism he has been pumped full of all his life.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    FIGJAM N00b-In-Chief

  64. rosehips says:

I’m sure Obama is realizing this week that the job is more than he ever thought it would be.

  65. VotingFemale says:

    not changing the subject…

These two issues are running in parallel…
can’t get fixated on one at the expense of the other…

A strong economy is paramount to defending this country

  66. VotingFemale says:

And Israel has told Obama… either you take out the IRAN NUKES or we will…. period.

  67. rosehips says:

it’s a catch 22. if our economy is strong while the rest of the world suffers, we will need so much more defense because the world will resent us more and more.

  68. rosehips says:

what will happen if we take out the missiles?

  69. karmahd says:

Rose I am all for the environment, I kind of like the movie “The Postman” I could live like that! Obama is way overclassed, and his ego has led him to believe that the world would buy his BS, nope, and he is diminishing in power each day, which is not good, we will have a lame duck president in a matter of months, that leaves us to the whims of Pelosi who is and has been the most powerful individual in government for the last 4 years, Obama is a figurehead that is all, he is told what to say and what to push by his handlers plain and simple. Not arguing Rose just becoming very passionate about the actions of our government in a time of crisis, I am very disappointed in the reaction, no LEADERS or STATESMEN are coming to the front, they are still more concerned with maintaing power instead of doing the right thing!!

  70. rosehips says:

    I hear you karma.

Did you know that my kids and I were almost in The Postman? It was filmed near us but every time we went to apply for jobs as extras, the crew was gone. It was uncanny because they took about one day off every 10 days, but we kept hitting the wrong day. Jonah was very dramatic when he was young, and could have landed a speaking part even. As it was, I know many extras in that movie and did hang out on the set one night. Too bad the movie was such a dud!

  71. karmahd says:

We need to take out the missiles, but it should be a world consensus to do so. I do hope this is being worked on!

  72. VotingFemale says:

His eyes are not yet fully opened… he has not been tested and making the hard decisions will open them more and more… he is playing a game with the economy… a game played countless times… and it never works out… ask Russia and Cuba and China… China has gone Capitalist and eventually their socialism will fade out of existance… looks good on paper… never works in the long run.

Socialists don’t know enough to stay out of the way of Capitalism.

    rosehips says

I’m sure Obama is realizing this week that the job is more than he ever thought it would be.

  73. rosehips says:

at least we’ve been primed out here in the mountains for a Postman scenario. lol!

  74. karmahd says:

Well Costner is probably why it was a dud LOL. He might be cute, but I think I can act better… I have been in two movies one as a body double (tennis movie) the second I was in the background of a mid-evil motorcycle gang movie written by S King shot in PA, in 1979, I dont think that one ever got released!! it was fun

  75. VotingFemale says:

The world wants it cake and eat it too…
They expect the US to be the Dirty Harry and get the job done without them getting their hands dirty so they can be arm chair second guessers and play their finger pointing games and enjoy the benefits of protection from the NOKOs and IRANs for free.

    karmahd says

We need to take out the missiles, but it should be a world consensus to do so. I do hope this is being worked on!

  76. rosehips says:

cool karma! one guy I know played Tom Petty’s body double in the Postman and ended up working in other projects down in CA with Petty. He did have a very similar build. The guys a bit of a drunk and I don’t think California suited him. He came back to the hills where good rednecks are happy. lol.

  77. rosehips says:

everyone wants a job done without getting their hands dirty. just about everyone.

  78. karmahd says:

Well, odd that these two countries are now posturing for world attention right now. With the video sent to Iran I think might have had the reverse effect, it empowered them. NO KO, is a nut bag nation, and if anyone could pull the trigger they could, but you know what, the earth could use a break, get rid of the human virus now infecting it.

  79. karmahd says:

Jeeze rose I would call you guys whitenecks LOL

  80. VotingFemale says:

    cool…

  81. karmahd says:

Yeah VF it was fun, when I was in tennis I was on 20/20 and 60 Minutes as well, one of many included in the story, and ESPN way back in the day for tennis as well. I wanted to be a STAR, LOL, did not work out that way…

  82. rosehips says:

lol karma… you don’t realize who my neighbors are. When I lived up in the mountains, most of my neighbors and many of my friends were rednecks. Of course my closest buds are the renegade hippies. We like to work outdoors and live a hillbilly lifestyle. I am redneck in some ways. but not much. lol

  83. VotingFemale says:

Karma did you like the movie Tin Cup?

    I loved that movie…

  84. rosehips says:

hey maybe I saw you on tv karma!

  85. karmahd says:

Well I was speaking of geography more than the lifestyle, no sun!!! I grew up in Florida, most people don’t realize that in the 60’s and 70’s if you got 10 miles from the coast Florida was all cattle ranches and tomato farms, thus the name Craker, the name came from the Florida cattle men who whould crack there whips to heard the cattle. I was a dope smoking hippy redneck back in those days, used to wear a cowboy hat to the beach!!

  86. rosehips says:

not many make it as far as you did karma. you must have worked hard to get to where you did. how much did you have to practice to stay on the circuit?

  87. karmahd says:

Tin Cup was pretty good and had a good message as well, I also liked Happy Gilmore, LOL

  88. rosehips says:

lol karma. I love those kind of cowboys!

  89. karmahd says:

I would play tennis from 8 AM until Dark 6 days a week, did that for 15 years

I was a special athlete, had the body to play any sport, played baseball, track, some football, and was a fish in the water. My body is paying the price for all that activity now, lots of aches and pains these days!!!

  94. rosehips says:

I had an opportunity for an athletic scholarship but wasn’t interested. It was only a partial scholarship and it was in Virginia…not where I wanted to be.
I was good in basketball but being 5’4 and a girl didn’t get me far. If I had been a guy, I may have had many more scholarship options.

  95. karmahd says:

I had scholarships from three different schools, I can send you a PM on which ones

  96. karmahd says:

My college GF played on the basketball team she was 5.2 and kick my ass in basketball

  97. rosehips says:

ohhh, cool. I had a deadly outside shot. dang I wished we had a 3 pt rule then. I was 69% from the line. better than any of the guys…maybe in the whole league.

  98. karmahd says:

I never was that good at basketball, the only sport I never took too but was still better than most, and she would run circles around me, real strange two handed shot, like a push but she was quick and deadly, and she sure loved to kick my ass, she would laugh her ass off every time she would since I was ultra competitive

  99. rosehips says:

lol karma…I can imagine it would slay you. Like Bobby Riggs/Billie Jean. The battle of the sexes.

  100. rosehips says:

I had an advantage being left handed and I had awsome teammates. We were almost unstoppable.

  101. rosehips says:

    hi VF and everyone

Very related to the money subject you expose here……

    I just discovered this yesterday:

this book is being written as we speak (write).

Robert Kiyosaki of Rich Dad, Poor Dad – the money guru for the masses, has already finished 4 chapters of the new book on the new financial strategies we need to be educated on.

Read it now and let everyone know about it. It’s online and it’s free, you just need to log on:

    http://www.conspiracyoftherich.com/about

I am reading it. The author does not shy away from naming names, locations and sticking to the raw truth.

Also, read his September 2008 heart surgery story.

Is anybody surprised that our Gitmo prisoners might be going to Venezuela?? Hugo Chavez announced he wants us to release our prisoners to him… shocking huh?

  119. rosehips says:

hi belle, well that’s frightening. Let’s see if it’s a bluff.
    no surprise about chavez.
the roundtable blog is still going, but it’s almost over.

  120. ohiobelle says:

Rosehips, Can’t be a bluff now, they just fueled the rockets. They have to launch once they’re fueled. It’s a waiting game to find out where?

As far at Gitmo, we might as well give the prisoners to Ahmadinejad… Why don’t we give them to all terrorist. Disturbing if you ask me.

  122. rosehips says:

but do we know that they are detonated?

  123. rosehips says:

belle, don’t let your blood pressure rise.

  124. ohiobelle says:

Do you mean launched? It’s on the pad and fueled to go. N Korea said any country that shoots it down will have declared war against N Korea. I think it could launch as early as tomorrow if not Saturday. I don’t think they intend to launch into space. If that were the case then China and the US wouldn’t be this alert. What do you think?

  125. ohiobelle says:

rosehips, haha I haven’t had any problems for about a month now. That’s my luck, finally get my blood pressure under control and now this. lol

  126. rosehips says:

sorry belle, wrong word. how do we know if the missiles have nukes?

  127. rosehips says:

well, they are planning this to happen just now that the G20 are meeting. It’s a pr move. Disrupt the meetings so this will be all they talk about. If they launch a missile it will be mayhem around the world. Better buy batteries.

  128. ohiobelle says:

Well it doesn’t surprise me of North Koreas timing. Maybe this is a good time to check out the suicide website hahahh.
    http://www.samhsa.gov/economy/

Sorry for not getting that to you yesterday.

  129. VotingFemale says:

    surprise surprise…

I still think they should be returned to the terrorist training camp where they were captured… and given a one hour head start hehehehehe

  130. ohiobelle says:

It’s is sunny and 70 in Columbus. That’s why I haven’t been online much today. I am going back outside but I will check in soon.

  131. ohiobelle says:

Hi vf, Okay I might be sticking around for a bit.

What’s your thoughts on everything going on??

  132. ohiobelle says:

vf, I love the idea of giving them 1 hour head start.

I don’t want them here but I don’t want them in Venezuela. I think we should just keep club Gitmo open.

  133. rosehips says:

70 degrees? sweet! It is just starting to warm up past freezing here. The sun is out though and the snow is just about all melted.

  134. rosehips says:

one hour head start, vf and bell? why so generous? lol.

  135. ohiobelle says:

Rosehip, I figure they are not in that great of shape. With the right gun and perfect aim… I could reach them. I have no guilt about it.

  136. VotingFemale says:

Hiya Johnny! So happy you stopped by!!
Thank your sir for the nice compliment on the blog!

There is a political diverse group of folks here commenting… intelligent and enjoy discussing politics.

Pull up a chair… and get acquainted!

Folks… Johnny is a WB Blogger I came across today while sniffing out the Palin search tag… and commenting.

Love his delightful sense of sarcasm! 😉

Rosehips, 70 today and 45 tomorrow. Our weather is crazy here.

Okay now I really mean it. I am going back to work in my yard. I will check in soon.

  138. rosehips says:

    belle, are you a shooter?

  139. rosehips says:

    gotta go, son wants on…bbl

  140. rosehips says:

welcome to Johnny. I hope you have your facts straight. lol

  141. ohiobelle says:

Hi Johnny! Welcome to the conversation. Sorry for leaving so early last time.

  142. ohiobelle says:

Rosehips, I feel bad. We left them hanging last time we spoke.

  143. rosehips says:

    belle, left who hanging?

  144. ohiobelle says:

It looks like the just joined the conversation right when you and I left for a bit.

  145. ohiobelle says:

I just hate typo’s. You know I meant they not the

  146. rosehips says:

did you catch any of the roundtable blog?

  147. rosehips says:

yeah, no need to correct, i usually don’t

  148. ohiobelle says:

So anything new with ireports? What was said today at the blog?

  149. rosehips says:

    let’s see…nothing really. lol

  150. ohiobelle says:

I haven’t really been to ireports today. I’ve been trying to get stuff done outside. I didn’t go to the blog.

  151. rosehips says:

you’ll have to check it out.

  152. ohiobelle says:

It’s too time consuming to his both places. lol
    You know what I mean.

  153. rosehips says:

what do you think about the new legislation in Afghanistan? A man can rape his wife. nice.

  154. rosehips says:

    I know, I’m exhasted! lol.

  155. ohiobelle says:

hahah! I did it again. HIT

  156. rosehips says:

david said absolutely no bad behavior. they have a reputation to keep!

  157. ohiobelle says:

What new legislation?? I haven’t heard anything.

  158. karmahd says:

The roundtable blog was as expected, you can read for your self.

  159. rosehips says:

yeah afghanistan now allows men to rape their wives if they won’t have sex with them.

  160. ohiobelle says:

Rosehips, I figured that was going to be the case with ireports. So I guess they won’t even bother giving warnings?? Thank god I didn’t post a report I was working on.

  161. rosehips says:

karma got spanked by davidw teehee

  162. rosehips says:

bonbonnie pulled off quite the move. She said goodbye, this blog isn’t worth it. It’s just a chat room. She said ireports is ok as a social network but not for politics. too many liberals who pounce. She should come here.
Then she pulled her account and was just a blue blob.

  163. ohiobelle says:

Rosehips, are you serious? They actually spent time on that subject?? It’s been happening for decades and the men have never gotten in trouble. Usually the woman are accused of cheating on their husbands if they don’t have sex with them. A woman accused could be hanged.

  164. rosehips says:

Wolf Blitzer was just talking about it.

  165. ohiobelle says:

rosehips, I thought bonbonnie was one of them??? I was careful to stear clear. I guess I was wrong. I wish we could find her.

  166. rosehips says:

did you see the one dress Michelle had on when she was talking to some schoolkids? It had plaid patches on it and it was baby blue. Not her best outfit.

  167. ohiobelle says:

Hi Karma! Why did you get spanked by david?

Rosehips, I can’t stand Wolf Blitzer! He drives me nuts.

  168. rosehips says:

no, she was conservative although I didn’t go to her posts much and never commented. She’s a Christian and is very outspoken about religious bigotry.

  169. rosehips says:

lol belle, when he botched my name and then botched my question to Bill Gates, I lost faith in him.

  170. ohiobelle says:

The Britts think Michelle can do no wrong. Did you read some of those headlines?? Man have they been fooled.

  171. rosehips says:

I agreed with her latest post but didn’t comment on it. She had excellent points. It might still be up. It was most comments this week.

  172. rosehips says:

She sounded good when she was just talking. She is good, imo. She seems real. You think she has me fooled? lol

  173. rosehips says:

The karma thing wasn’t that major. Karma mentioned names and david didn’t like that and told him so.

  174. karmahd says:

No it was more of a bitch slap, but Gild came through in the end to show the true issue. No big deal, they are doing the best they can, just like life you have people who kiss ass and those who kick it, I have done both, neither works, so I disengage and move on.

  175. ohiobelle says:

My favorite is coming on shortly… yes you know who I am talking about. It’s Beck baby.

  176. karmahd says:

well I have been locked up all day time to go work out

  177. rosehips says:

I wish I could find Fox. I don’t know what channel it is!

  178. ohiobelle says:

Karma, a bitch slap hahahahahahaha!! It had to do with gildreams?? I might have to check it out.

Have you guys noticed there have been alot of new people on ireports?

  179. rosehips says:

have karma. i am going out soon too. It’s getting sunny again.

  180. rosehips says:

    some are imposters!

  181. rosehips says:

and that was “have fun” karma.

  182. ohiobelle says:

Rosehips, are you serious?? I don’t believe you. Fox is the best news station. Fair and balanced.

  183. rosehips says:

yeah i am. I tried to find it but none of my channels say fox. I wonder what the call letters are on dish?

  184. ohiobelle says:

Okay I am going back outside. I will check in later.

  185. rosehips says:

    see you later!

  186. ohiobelle says:

What cable company do you have??

  187. rosehips says:

    I’ve got satellite…dish network

  188. rosehips says:

I get Fox. just don’t know which channel.

  189. ohiobelle says:

okay. I will find the station for you. I will be right back.

  190. rosehips says:

you shouldn’t belle, i’ll ask my son.

  191. rosehips says:

    I’m going but thanks!

  192. ohiobelle says:

Rosehips, you weren’t kidding. The dish network only recently started airing Fox. Does this information help??

Fox Business Network said its distribution has grown to nearly 50 million homes, thanks to a new deal with Dish Network, which hadn’t carried the channel previously.

The deal with Dish also puts Fox News Channel on Dish’s Classic Bronze 100 tier, an improvement from America’s Top 200 level it had been on before. The change increases the number of homes receiving Fox News on Dish to 11 million.

  193. ohiobelle says:

Rosehips, okay I will check back later.

    bye bye

  194. rosehips says:

belle, thanks for trying. I know we used to get it because my kids used to watch the Simpsons. Maybe that was reruns. Now I’m confused….

  195. VotingFemale says:

sigh…. glen was full of good news

  196. karmahd says:

Hey what is up, sent you that article VF and Rose, check your mail

  197. VotingFemale says:

    Enjoyed it Karma!!!

  198. rosehips says:

got your email karma. cracked up!

  199. Indycoltsfan says:

Hell Gang. I hope all is well. I got this off of lisa’s new post. check it out.
    http://www.infowars.com/urban-warfare-drills-linked-to-coming-economic-rage/
    Scary sh%t!!!

  200. arlenearmy says:

The terrible thing about all this is that we don’t know who to trust in government. I think that the longer politicians stay in office the more corrupt they become. Term limits for the House & Senate may become necessary (no more than 2 terms — period — no matter how good them are).

  201. arlenearmy says:

correction: “no matter how good they are”

  202. m2elena says:

Watching some Greta VS right now… verdict of report: Budget, FAIL.

    No bi-partisanship.
    Largest Spending since FDR.

Ooooh she just teased a segment on “Did Obama + Global Ldrs ‘fix’ this economic crisis.” (Fix as in, orchestrate)… YES YES &… YES.

  203. m2elena says:

speaking of the tube… I used to be a proud antenna user, had no cable. We didn’t get Satellite until last May! I had lived for about 5 years without cable/satellite. So in 2005, my hubs and I went on our honey moon in Maui, and I remember being thrilled to turn on Fox News in the room. What a sad sap I am.

  204. m2elena says:

They’re talking Blago right now… he looks like a character in a bad 70’s (or 80’s I guess) porn.

  205. m2elena says:

Hey Indy, I put 444 back in her rotten place for you. (on Lisa’s report)

    er… her, him… whatever

  206. m2elena says:

TV update, Dick Morris says we are essentially under global rule (Brussels calls the shots)… Thanks Obama. For your complete vacuous allegiance to this country… which you happened to not be born in anyhow.

  207. m2elena says:

Ahhh I’m talking to mahself… 🙂 Guess it makes for interesting morning reading for the rest of you.

  208. rosehips says:

lol m2. I’m enjoying your talkin’. I lived for many years with no tv. We got satellite in around 2002 when my son had major surgery. I’ve never been a big watcher. I just discovered that I don’t think we get Fox and I thought we did. I need to ask my son but he hates Fox so he’ll be suspicious. lol
    lol@ Blago and 444

  209. m2elena says:

    Whoo hoo… someone’s on.
Well Greta switched over to her usual crap… murder stories. So now I’m watching some reality show on MTV. Husband is in bed and will have all 4 wisdom teeth removed tomorrow. SCARY!

I used to look down on people that watched a lot of TV… Then I got my satellite and it was like HGTV was burned into the screen even when the tube was off. OH, the reason we got it was because we bought this huge Sony HD LCD tv. It’s so great. I’m a big movie watcher. Uh… now I’m a big TV watcher, though reading is by far the best past-time.

  210. m2elena says:

speaking of crazies.. is CONFOUNDED ALL CAPS still lurking around the ireport ghost-town haunts.

  211. rosehips says:

I agree about reading. Don’t do it enough when I’m on here soooo much.
    Greta’s likes Nancy Grace, no?

  212. rosehips says:

I think he changes his name every weekend. has he bothered you?

  213. rosehips says:

did you hear about iDistort? gone.

  214. rosehips says:

    ouch, all 4 wisdom teeth?

  215. rosehips says:

now I’m talking to myself. I’m gonna check out lisa’s post….

  216. m2elena says:

    alright rose- here’s some funnies!
    http://cuteoverload.com/2009/04/01/whale-watchers/

    and

  217. m2elena says:

    Sorry! I went Facebooking… 😀

iDistort is gone? I kind of thought she was a little “know it all”… er. Yeah. Confounded hasn’t bothered me. I didn’t know he/she came on as different people. Yes, all 4! But they are all broken through the gum. I really am into this series, the Sookie Stackhouse books. The first one is called “Dead Until Dark”… and that is what the HBO show True Blood is based on (though I haven’t seen it). There are 9 books out so far, and the 10th out in May!! Squeeee! I can’t wait. It’s great summer reading -you should check them out. OK, I’m off to bed! Good night!

  218. karmahd says:

So I see the budget passed, wow, sorry kids!

  219. VotingFemale says:

    I have respect for iDistort.

fyi, it is a fact that iDistort self-deactivated her account and was not banned.

  220. rosehips says:

m2, the vids were a hoot.
Good luck to your hubby with his extractions. I never got wisdom teeth, like many in my family, so I never had to go through that torture. Wisdom teeth are a vestige from a time long ago. We don’t need them anymore. But they might come in handy during the Postman phase of our civilization. But by that time we may all be toothless. Anyone care for some marrow soup? lol.

  221. rosehips says:

glad to see iDistort did not get banned. She won’t stay away. She’s as addicted as the rest of us.
m2, she is a bit of a know-it-all and I do not agree with a majority of her posts, but I always respected her intelligence and wry wit. I used to think she was a man and did I give her hell. I called her distorted and challenged her everything. But then she started making sense! I couldn’t deny that. The other day she noted a recent hostility in my comments on her posts. I think it was my general contempt for all the censorship. She mentioned this and asked me if I sat on a tack. I roared over that. She funny.

  222. m2elena says:

I don’t disagree with her opinions or thoughts. I just think she’s condescending. It’s more of an attitude thing.

  223. rosehips says:

yeah she is at that. She used to get me going until I realized her mo.
check out vf’s latest blog m2. that’s where there’s more conversation happening.

  224. NusPrubsNep says:
