Republicans are Already Defunding Obamacare

Two weeks before taking over control of the House of Representatives, Republicans have already succeeded in starting to defund Obamacare. As Ezra Klein, a zealous Obamacare supporter, writes in the Washington Post, “The Senate passed the Continuing Resolution [by a vote of] 79-16…. Another way of saying that: The Senate voted to defund the implementation of both health-care reform and financial-regulation reform.” Shortly thereafter, the House followed suit, by a vote of 193 to 165. This result was achieved because, in Klein’s words, “The omnibus spending bill collapsed,” preparing the way for the continuing resolution. Klein frankly says: “[T]his is bad news for the health-care bill.”

Democrats Seek Changes to Senate Procedures

WASHINGTON — Frustrated by regular filibusters and other procedural blockades, Senate Democrats are urging their leadership to negotiate with Republicans to change the rules that govern how the Senate does business.
The Democrats would leave intact the ability of the minority party to filibuster legislation and nominations, meaning that in most cases it would still take 60 votes to get anything done in the Senate. But they want to require senators to be on the floor if they intend to try to debate a bill to death and would make other changes to streamline the Senate’s operations, including ending the practice of secret “holds” by a single senator on legislation or nominees.

The NEXT 10 City Pensions That Will Run Out Of Money

The first total municipal pension default happened last week: Prichard, Ala. ran out of money stopped mailing pension checks.
Hundreds of cities could be right behind. Projections by Robert Novy-Marx and Joshua Rauh [PDF] show the average city has $15,000 per household in unfunded pension liabilities. These massive liabilities are ignored by common government accounting (see chart).
Insolvency means benefit cuts or borrowing from the already-near-broke states.
Many of the 77 cities surveyed by Novy-Marx and Rauh are facing insolvency within the next decade. Other small cities like Prichard could go even sooner.

The Lone Star State is scooping up more than just our congressional seats — some $846 million in personal income shifted from New York to Texas in an eight-year period during the last decade, according to an analysis of IRS tax returns.
Texas, which has no state or local income taxes and an enviably low cost of living, has been steadily poaching New Yorkers since the ’90s, according to data from the Tax Foundation, a nonpartisan tax research organization based in Washington.

Home prices are dropping in the nation’s largest cities and are expected to keep falling next year, as fewer people purchase homes and millions of foreclosures come on to the market.
The Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller 20-city home price index released Tuesday fell 1.3 percent in October from September.

#P2, are you intelectually challenged, or are you a promoter of the Commie Progresivism propoganda you preach? The 2010 census points out that people are moving out of the high tax states and moving to where the state tax rate is lower. PEOPLE DON’T LIKE TAXES!
Those dasterdly companies don’t want to pay their “fair share” and are moving out of the cities and states with “Progresive” taxes and moving to cities and states (or countries) with better tax rates. In the mean time, the people that live in those cities and states now have to move to where the jobs are, or take unemployment, which by the way, isn’t a job.
That is what your 2010 Census in telling you, #p2.
What is the solution? Grow your tax base. The more people and comapnies paying taxes will keep your fire and police departments in service. Seting your taxes higher will make your businesses and people move. It’s really common sense, #p2. Stop listening to your Commie leadership.
