Coakley to Mass Voters: “Curt Schilling (Scott Brown supporter) is a Yankees Fan”; That’s equiv to telling voters Obama is a Republican; On What PLANET do you live?!?!; Update: Response from Curt Schilling

Curt Shilling is to Massachusetts Voters as
Obama is to DEM Party African Americans

Curt Shilling is the Red Sox Pitcher who brought the Boston Red Socks to victory in the 2004 World Series for the first time in 86 years, finally breaking the Boston Red Sox free from the New York Yankee’s Curse of the Bambino.

Curt Shilling, who supports Scott Brown,  is not only a Massachusetts Hero beyond peer, he is a Baseball Hall of Famer for all time alongside the likes of Babe Ruth.

Martha Coakley? That you are so arrogantly dismissive and disconnected from the voters whom you expect to represent in the US Senate is a SLAP IN THE FACE TO ALL OF MASSACHUSETTS and baseball fans everywhere.

This is way WAY BEYOND GAFFING, Madam Coakley

You intentionally crapped all over Curt Schilling merely because he supports your opponent.

Your Curt Schilling attack is typical of DEM Party Trolls’ gnawing on Sarah Palin in slime ball gutter rat fashion for simply being a political opponent.

Even when it was explained to you that Curt Shilling is a Boston Red Sox pitcher and hero, you retorted… “he isn’t anymore.”

No amount of MediaMatters.org spin… No amount of Obama’s OrganizingForAmerica.org spin …no amount of spin from CNN/NBC/MSNBC/ABC/CBS or the entire sum of the Lame Stream Media will ever wash with Mass voters over your lack of respect for them and their Hero.

Martha? your US Senate campaign just got 86 more nails in it’s coffin.

Hall enshrines Schilling’s bloody sock

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. – The Hall of Fame now has the ultimate red sock to commemorate Boston’s first World Series title in 86 years.

Curt Schilling donated the bloody sock he wore during Game 2 of the World Series to the Hall of Fame on Thursday. The sock is part of a Red Sox exhibition celebrating the team’s four-game sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Schilling’s sock joins other Red Sox memorabilia including Derek Lowe’s jersey from Game 4, the bat used by Series MVP Manny Ramirez when he tied a postseason record with a 17-game hitting streak, and the spikes Keith Foulke wore when he recorded the final out of the Series.

Does Curt Shilling have anything to say

in response to Martha Coakley?

Want ANOTHER reason to NOT vote for Martha Coakley???

By Curt Schilling

Picked this up from here…

If she hasn’t done it yet, Martha Coakley may have just killed her campaign.

She’s apparently been trying to win the title of Worst Political Campaign Ever, and she might have just clinched it with her little dig at Scott Brown over Fenway Park.

The appearance characterizes Coakley’s approach to this truncated race. Aware that she has little time for the hand-shaking and baby-kissing of a standard political campaign, she has focused instead on rallying key political leaders, Democratic activists, and union organizers, in hope they will get people to the polls.

… Despite that, there is a subdued, almost dispassionate quality to her public appearances, which are surprisingly few. Her voice is not hoarse from late-night rallies. Even yesterday, the day after a hard-hitting debate, she had no public campaign appearances in the state.

Coakley bristles at the suggestion that, with so little time left, in an election with such high stakes, she is being too passive.

“As opposed to standing outside Fenway Park? In the cold? Shaking hands?’’ she fires back, in an apparent reference to a Brown online video of him doing just that. “This is a special election. And I know that I have the support of Kim Driscoll. And I now know the members of the [Salem] School Committee, who know far more people than I could ever meet.’’

There are just so many things wrong with that statement.

It shows her elitism and arrogance unbelievably. Aside from the apparent feeling that the seat belongs to her just by virtue of her party, she just admitted that she doesn’t need to bother meeting with constituents because she’s meeting people like Kim Driscoll, and political leaders, and Democrat activists. I guess they’re the ones that matter, huh? I know it’s a “special election” and all, but that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t need to fight for this seat. Prancing around with this mindset of “Oh, I’m a Democrat, therefore Ted Kennedy’s seat just automatically belongs to me regardless of what the people think,” is idiotic. Acting as if she doesn’t need to give her constituents the time of day is ludicrous. She can make all the snide remarks about Scott Brown shaking hands with people in the cold that she wants, but that’s what you’re supposed to do when you’re trying to get elected. She seems to have forgotten that she’s trying to get elected in Massachusetts, and not in Washington D.C. — if she remembered that, maybe she’d spend more time trying to impress Massachusetts voters and less time rubbing elbows with the Democrat establishment, Big Pharmacy lobbyists, and union leaders. Most normal politicians, Republican or Democrat, do go shake hands with voters. Even if it means standing in the cold outside of Fenway Park.

Finally, has she forgotten who she’s talking to? What state she’s wanting to represent in the Senate? It’s Massachusetts. You do not make sneering insults about Fenway Park. What’s she going to do next, insult the Red Sox? That’d really just be the cherry on top of a delightful campaign. Fenway Park and the Red Sox are damned near sacred to Massachusetts residents, Bostonians in particular. Really, I’m starting to think that she just doesn’t want to get elected or something. Because anyone with half a modicum of sense knows that you do not go into Boston and mess with Fenway Park.

hahaha foxy. you may be right. I don’t know how widespread the news was about our wash state gov’s race a few years back (2004)but it was a photo finish with a 42 vote lead by the republican challenger Dino Rossi after the second count. Christine Gregoire, our current gov, ending up winning but it was a nail biter. There was an uproar over felons and dead people voting. There may have been some people who voted more than once, but I can’t remember what else was challenged.

There aren’t many illegals around here but west of here in the orchards there are lots. My ex used to prune and thin trees in the winters and he said the Mexicans were the best workers, although I think my ex kept up with them. I think when people are in survival mode they learn that you must strive to reach your fullest potential in order to compete. Americans do this but on a different level. There aren’t that many who are willing to sweat to get to the top. Am I not correct?

One of my Grand Daughters rode with me to the Birthday party yesterday. She is 8 years old and had some questions for me on the trip. It was a one hour Drive mind you and One hour back.

Grandpa: Why is your car so slow?

Grandpa: Why do you smell like the Attic?

Sammy, I mean Grandpa: How old are you?

Grandpa: Who picks out your clothes?

Sammy: Guess who my favorite singer is?

    Sammy: Guess my favorite Color?

Grandpa: Guess what I want for my Birthday?

Gosh, I loved every minute of that ride :)

  64. rosehips says:

sorry SH, excuse my manners. Been out here in the sticks too long.

    After you my friend….

  65. rosehips says:

but I’m not saying that Americans aren’t willing to sweat. I know there are plenty of hardworking folk. I guess it’s more that Americans don’t want to work hard unless they are paid accordingly. Fruit picking and pruning don’t pay enough unless you are superman.

  66. rosehips says:

whoops, sorry SH, my fingers are flying this morning.

  67. Foxwood says:

I was looking for something else…

  68. samhenry says:

Lots of migrant Mexicans here summers. Lots of Chinese on the other side of the border with Canada. They are all rich and they have a large Buddhist temple right down the street from Niagara Falls. They own all the best hotels right up the Niagara Gorge to Niagara-on-the Lake the old capitol of Upper Canada.

I used to have Anglo-Canadians come into the store where I worked on their way to camp in Letchworth State Park. I asked them why they were here when they such beautiful parks nearby and they said they just couldn’t get used to sleeping in their tents nights listening to Chinese being spoken in the next tent, LOL.

The Chinese come here to get away from the crowded parks in Ontario. We are all here together and soon will be speaking Chinese – “how so – how much do we owe you.”

  69. rosehips says:

    sami, that’s cute.

Though often considered a classic of children’s literature, The Five Chinese Brothers has been accused of promoting ethnic stereotypes about the Chinese. In 1977, Albert V. The latest is a guy I made out with on a trip down to Puerto Rico in 12th grade! that is a little bit too freaky for me. lol I now have 13 people waiting for me to accept their friends request. Rose,
I too have seen that happen with certain people who were pre-disposed to that kind of behavior before becoming Born Again.

The Vast Majority of Born Again Christians are not like that and sadly they are painted that way more times than not.

A Born Again Christian is just a Sinner who is Saved By Grace.

    January 17, 2010 in Opinion
    Ditch Cadillacs for Malibus
    Gary Crooks The Spokesman-Review

Labor unions have been excused from the tax on “Cadillac” health care plans until 2018, which has drawn strong rebukes.

“This latest back-room maneuver is another example of how administration officials and their enablers in Congress will cut deals with their special-interest allies to impose a government takeover of health care,” said U.S. Rep. John Kline, R-Minn., the senior Republican on the House Education and Labor Committee.

First, the government took over health care long ago. Nearly 160 million Americans obtain coverage from their employers, who receive tax subsidies for purchasing insurance. This tax exclusion cost the U.S. Treasury about $200 billion in 2007. This does not include the tax breaks for self-insured businesses or the self-employed, the exemption from state income taxes and itemized deductions for expenses. The elderly are covered by Medicare. The poor have Medicaid. Children are covered under SCHIP. Many states have their own health plans.

But to date, this “imposition” has not been labeled a government takeover. It has been called the finest health care in the world, which is sheer hyperbole (but that’s another column).

Schilling lives in Medfield, Massachusetts, in Drew Bledsoe’s former home, though the house is now for sale.[25] He is one of just seven players born in the state of Alaska to play Major League Baseball.[26] He is married to Shonda, who is a survivor of malignant melanoma. The ruling, handed down Tuesday by a three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Seattle, found that Washington’s criminal-justice system was so “infected” with racial discrimination that a ban on felon voting violated civil-rights protections.

The latest is a guy I made out with on a trip down to Puerto Rico in 12th grade! that is a little bit too freaky for me. lol I now have 13 people waiting for me to accept their friends request. Former Red Sox pitching ace Curt Schilling is ripping Democrat Martha Coakley on his blog for her statement to the Boston Globe that she doesn’t stand around in the cold outside Fenway Park, referencing a Scott Brown video of him greeting voters outside the ball park.

Schilling endorsed Republican Scott Brown on his blog last week, generating some buzz. But this time, Schilling goes off on Coakley:

Their film restoration program has meant that I have seen the Maltese Falcon, etc. restored and they look like they were shot yesterday. It is truly amazing. I am sorry I am living just outside Rochester a bit too far to go in to see many as I used to when I lived in the city.

  194. rosehips says:

lisa, interesting, wiki has added quite a bit of “info” to its Haiti page:

    Since 1915
The United States occupied the island from 1915 to 1934. This occupation was initially resisted by a peasant revolt termed the “cacos” insurrection which was led by Charlemagne Peralt. Accusations of “indiscriminate” killing by US Marines were formally investigated by US Brigadier General George Barnett who concluded that 3250 “natives” were killed.[33] A later investigation noted that 98 Marines perished in the conflict as well.[33] The Haitian administration dismantled the constitutional system, built roads, and established the National Guards that ran the country after the Marines left.

Scholars agree that Haiti was in much better shape after the occupation than before, but some accuse the US of estabishing a “shaky” foundation that left the country with a doomed financial structure. This was due to a 1922 $40 million loan owed to the US as well as the country’s national treasury and to the Banque Nationale owned by a New York bank.[33] The result was a financial system that siphoned the country’s wealth to offshore creditors instead of reinvesting it in the country’s economy.[33]

Voter Ire Against Democrats Evident in Mass. Race
    Saturday, 16 Jan 2010 03:06 PM
    Article Font Size

The ill winds of an angry electorate are blowing against Democrats, the warning signs clear in a closer-than-expected Massachusetts Senate race that may doom President Barack Obama’s healthcare agenda and foreshadow the party’s election prospects this fall.

Anti-incumbent, anti-establishment sentiment is rampant. Independents are leaving Obama. Republicans are energized. Democrats are subdued. None of it bodes well for the party in power.

“It’s going to be a hard November for Democrats,” Howard Dean, the Democratic Party chairman in the 2006 and 2008 elections when the party took control of the White House and Congress, told The Associated Press in an interview. “Our base is demoralized.”

While he praised Obama as a good president, Dean said the Democrat hasn’t turned out to be the “change agent” the party thought it elected, and voters who supported Democrats in back-to-back elections now are turned off. Said Dean: “They really thought the revolution was at hand but it wasn’t, and now they’re getting the back of the hand.”

Just how much voters have soured since Obama took over a country in chaos is reflected in the president’s late-game decision to rush to Massachusetts on Sunday to try to stave off an extraordinary Republican upset in the race for a Senate seat held by Democrats for more than half a century.

Obama faced a no-win situation as he pondered whether to campaign with Democrat Martha Coakley. Had he decided against going, he would have enraged the base and been blamed if she lost. But a Coakley defeat following a presidential visit would be embarrassing, raising questions about Obama’s popularity and political muscle.

Once heavily favored to cruise to victory, Coakley is in a tight fight with Republican Scott Brown, a little-known state senator, for the race to fill the seat left vacant when Sen. Edward M. Kennedy died.

Losing the race would cost the Democrats their 60-vote coalition in the Senate. The president has been relying on that big edge to stop Republican filibusters and pass not only his healthcare overhaul but also the rest of his legislative agenda heading into the first elections since he took office.

A Suffolk University poll released late Thursday showed Brown with 50 percent of the vote and Coakley with 46 percent. The survey indicated that Brown’s supporters — a mix of disaffected Democrats, a large number of Republicans and a majority of independents — are far more enthusiastic than Coakley’s backers.

Wow … amazing how all these yrs. we (myself & folks I grew up with) interpreted the song differently.

We thought that the song was about a girl name Sally Annie in Louisiana; & that she & a guy were doing some”poon-tang” (poking) in collard green patch while her mother was working. We thought this was so when we were dancing because when the words of song ‘Poke Sally’ was uttered, our dance moves suggested a “poke” (lower-body dance movement for the poking of Sally).

Damn, I guess I better make phone calls to relatives to report that we had misinterpretation that song after all these yrs.

Haiti needs help, not tired harangues
    Kathleen Parker
    excerpt:

No one should be surprised that Robertson (Pat) invokes God’s wrath or Satan’s trade-offs when horror hits. Whether it’s a hurricane, a terrorist attack or an earthquake, one can be fairly certain that Robertson’s Ouija board will point to a supernatural explanation.

Invariably, he blames the victims or some third-party behavior favored by Satan and frowned upon by God. What was behind the terrorist attacks of 9/11? America’s moral decay. Hurricane Katrina? Abortion. Haiti’s earthquake? A deal with the devil.

Equally ill-timed and foolish, if not nearly as insane, were Limbaugh’s remarks upon news of the earthquake:

“This will play right into (President) Obama’s hands – humanitarian, compassionate. They’ll use this to burnish their, shall we say, credibility with the black community – in the both light-skinned and dark-skinned black community in this country. It’s made to order for them.”

Limbaugh, like Robertson, has been duly condemned for his comments. The fact that he in part was lampooning Harry Reid for the Senate leader’s now-famous comments about Obama’s light skin (as a political plus) does not diminish the awfulness of Limbaugh’s cynicism. What’s worse: Reid’s antiquated observation that Obama betrays no “Negro dialect” in his diction, or Limbaugh’s implication that an African-American president, in helping a devastated black population, might be trying to embellish his street cred?

Is it possible that Limbaugh doesn’t know Haiti’s history also includes the post-slavery oppression of dark-skinned descendants of slaves by the lighter-skinned descendants of colonialists who bred with the enslaved?

Surely, there should be the occasional time and place when circumstances transcend the usual and free us from the race-baiting and ignorance-pandering panhandling that characterizes so much of American politics: When God and Satan are given a holiday from the news cycle. When a president can be granted the pure motives of a good nation. When science isn’t an insult to the divine and no demon earns credit for human misery.

Haiti is one of those places. Now should be one of those times.

MA Sen: Special election update, Brown to win – updated
In a press release just published on his website, Charlie Cook has given Scott Brown a slight advantage in Tuesday’s special senate election in Massachusetts. Technically, Cook’s rating of the race remains in the “Toss-up” category but, according to Cook,
Republican state Sen. Scott Brown [is] holding onto a very narrow, single-digit lead over Democratic state Attorney General Martha Coakley. Given the vagaries of voter turnout, particularly in lower participation level special elections, this race could still go either way, but we put a finger on the scale for Brown. Emphasis added
Election Projection has followed suit – who can argue with all the polling data giving Brown a slight to convincing lead – and now projects Brown to win the election on Tuesday. I repeat, simply because I never dreamed I’d post these words. Election Projection now projects Republican Scott Brown will win the Massachusetts senate seat formerly held by the late Senator Edward Kennedy in the special election on Tuesday, January 19, 2010.

Update: It’s 51-41! The Merriman Group just released a poll showing Brown moving out to a 10-point lead! There’s way too much positive energy and positive polling data to deny that Brown has to be favored at this point. Pinch me, I’ve got to be dreaming! Hat tip: The Hedgehog Report

I used to eat raw garlic cloves. The boss at the job I worked at at the time told me to stop, because I smelled like a Vietnamese.

  397. Foxwood says:

  398. arlenearmy says:

Obama’s “truck” statement = “clinging to guns & religion”

  399. Foxwood says:

Yep, Arlene, you nos that us Conservative has a full set of teeth ‘tweens us all.

  400. arlenearmy says:

Its reported that Brown is having rally to counter obama/coakley event. I wonder if foxnews is going to cover it.

  401. samiam60 says:

Arlene or anyone really. Goggle Garlic.

It is an amazing herb and I can tell you it has helped me far more than anything they gave me at the VA Hospital. I got started on this in October when I was having trouble getting any kind of help or treatment from the VA.

Garlic is good for a whole host of things in life and I am glad to hear Arlene that you feel you are getting some benefit from it.

  402. Foxwood says:

It won’t grow my teeth back!

  403. arlenearmy says:

    Fox
you got dentures ? if you do, you better take good care of them, cuz obamacare is not gonna replace nothing.

my mom has a bad set of false teeth, so she trained her gums to eat stuff like apples. She had the toughest gums Ive ever seen.

  404. Foxwood says:

Not dentures, I got an insert for a couple of missing ones. I do alot of chewing without the inserts. :)

  405. Foxwood says:

Take a few punches to the face and your bound to miss a tooth or two.

  406. rosehips says:

don’t know if you know this sami, but I used to grow garlic commercially with my ex. But before that I worked in the film industry and I once met a filmmaker, Les Blank at a film festival in NY. He made this film, “Garlic is as Good as Ten Mothers” Just the title alone is genius. The guy was eccentric but brilliant.

and here’s a good one just for so

  412. m2 says:

    Wow this truck thing! Truck-gate!!

So the only way Obama can talk up Dems is too trash talk anyone who’s not an elitist/nutroot?

Sad- pathetic… I want a new president. One who has real priciples and integrity!

  413. samiam60 says:

Thank you Rose and SamH for the videos.

    I do appreciate that.

  414. samhenry says:

Hi Samli, M2 – what did I miss about Obama and a truck?

  415. rosehips says:

m2, I think they should call it tail-gate.
It took me a while to figure out what was up with the truck references.

I want a new truck. One with power and bio-fuelability.

    what’s a nutroot? or maybe I shouldn’t ask…

m2 said: Wow this truck thing! Truck-gate!!

  416. Foxwood says:

It went something like this, SamH.

Well, I was drunk the day my mom got out of prison
and I went to pick her up in the rain
but before I could get to the station in my pickup truck
she got runned over by a damned old train

  417. rosehips says:

SH, the event for Coakley today had a lot of truck references. I figured out it is because of this ad:

  418. arlenearmy says:

    SH
Obama was at Coakley’s rally today & he was talking trash about pickup truck folks & it sort of make you feel like a poor trash if you own or drive a truck. Brown drives a GM truck.

In other words, Obama said it in the same fashion as he did about “clinging to guns & religion”. You know, Obama’s code language for “redneck”.

  419. rosehips says:

I was riding shotgun one time across I-80 when a pretty good looking trucker passed us by on the right and as he flew by he flashed a sign that said “Wanna F#(k?”
Well, I was a bit flustered but not one to let an opportunity go by so I grabbed a piece of cardboard and scribbled a question of my own:
“How’s your Peterbuilt”? and as my comrade at the wheel sped up and passed that trucker by, I flashed that sign at him and tried to supress a grin.
My friend and I laughed and continued on along the highway and about 5 minutes later that trucker comes roaring back along side our little old car and I look up and see the back of his sign with an answer in large block letters. It read:
    LIKE A ROCK!

We tore out of there and never looked back. Damn he was cute.

  420. m2 says:

A nutroot is an alinskyite/communist… Obama is magically both a well funded elitist and a hateful terrorist like his buddy, Ayers and Bill’s communist wife!

I’m watching Golden Globes. John Lithgow just got an award for Dexter and the camera showed Michael c Hall (Dexter) and Jennifer Carpenter (his sister in the show and his wife)…

Jennifer Carpenter graduated with me. She used to sit right next to me freshman year in homeroom.

  421. rosehips says:

I heard Michael C. Hall has cancer. I’m gonna turn on the tube and watch.
wow, that’s cool that you went to school with her, although I have never seen Dexter.

  422. samhenry says:

Thanks FOX, ARLENE and ROSEHENRY for your for all that truck!

I think Obama is a little bit psycho – a little bit rock and roll.

He really worries me. Omanic Depression.

  423. samhenry says:

Well if you are all watching the tube, so will I. Arlene, will Mr. Arlene let you watch the golden globes or is it off his list lol. He’s pretty strict with the clicker.

  424. m2 says:

And Michael C Hall just won…

Rose, twilight is only good if you read the book, but don’t let that stop you from checking out Pattinson!!

I got Netflix streaming on my HD through a disc they sent that works with our Playstation 3. It is AMAZING, very DVD quality!

And all still for 8.99 per month!

  448. rosehips says:

haha, I guess I can’t watch Twilight on demand. however, I can watch the Twilight Zone. lol

Rod Serling of Twilight Zone fame used to live in Binghamton NY, where I lived for a short time.

  449. Foxwood says:

“But I bet The Funk is a funky guy, eh?”

I had to get my two cent in… Terry and Dory Funk were the bad guys in the Wastlin’ world. They had branding irons with the double x on them. There really is a Double Cross Ranch in Canyon Texas (just a few miles south of Amarillo). Get it, they were bad guys and lived at the Double Cross Ranch? One would get the refs attention while the other womped the opponent with the Double Cross branding iron.

Duck hunters spark nuclear weapons plant lockdown
    Duck in flight (generic image)
The men – who worked at the plant – were hunting ducks on their day off

A pair of duck hunters has trigged a security alert at a nuclear weapons assembly plant in Amarillo, Texas.

Officials locked the plant after getting reports of individuals in camouflage gear stalking across the road from the factory.

They turned out to be two plant employees who had decided to spend their day off hunting fowl.

The plant was briefly shut as a “precautionary measure,” a plant official said.

“They were just doing what people do around here,” said Carson County Sheriff Tam Terry.

“They just had a lot more company than they were planning on.”

The pair, who sparked the alert when spotted early in the morning carrying arms and dressed in camouflage gear, were later found in a nearby field setting up goose decoys.

No charges will be filed against the men who both had permission to hunt from the local landowner.

  483. LisaInTX says:

  484. tellitlikeitis says:

Arlene, You are right. I believe Coakley is doomed because he showed up.

  485. rosehips says:

I think Obama helped Martha. I predict she will win but there will be multiple recounts. It will be one of the most memorable Senate races in recent history. It already is!

Martha will be victorious in 2010. That is my gut feeling.
fyi, my gut told me Bush would lose in both 2000 and 2004. haha

  486. tellitlikeitis says:

The blessing in disguise will be a Coakley defeat. If Coakly is defeated healthcare is dead, Cap and Trade is dead. The socialism train will be stopped and off the tracks. The democrats will be blown out of their underwear.

  487. tellitlikeitis says:

Hi Rose, Welcome to the party! How are you?

An old hairdresser told me that too much hair dye at too many intervals will turn hair white like cotton.

Also, his lips are turning blue. At 1st I thought it was burnt dark brown. But we got several HD tvs in this house. I checked them all & clearly saw “white” hair speaks & a bluish tinge on his lips.
