¹ since the Lame Stream Media decided to change the spelling of Osama bin Laden to Usama bin Laden in an attempt to prevent their on-air gaffs of calling President Obama, President Osama and calling Osama bin Laden, Obama bin Laden, I thought it only fitting and proper to change the spelling of Barry’s last name to Ubama for this post.

Hope You enjoy this infidel kitty’s blog post, Ubama! ;)

    weeee!!!!!

  2. m2 says:

I read a report that they (Dear Government) were briefed in October about Yemen Islamic plane bombers.

  3. m2 says:

Was at the bookstore yesterday, Oh what a difference a year makes! Last year was over pumped with glossy Obama covers on anything from fashion mags to weeklies.

There was one there (a hard-news mag) with a dismal photo and the headline was “a failure after 1 year”….

    Hahahahaha!!

  4. Foxwood says:

“Ready, fire, aim. In all seriousness, what is Dick Cheney’s beef?”

The Lame Stream Media NEVER gave Bush a break. Obutthols balls need to be busted. PAYBACK TIME!

  5. VotingFemale says:

Obama promised the moon to radical leftists and pretended to be a centrist to everyone else… and he has managed to alienate everyone.

Sarah Palin is walking Tall and kicking Leftist Ass!

We are positioned to run off enough of the Leftist Rabble in Congress this year… THIS YEAR.

And Obama starts assembling the Obama War in Yemen. Perhaps Code Pink will don Camos and visit the troops in Yemen. lol

  6. VotingFemale says:

    gotta go make lunch… Tacos…

    be back after lunch :)

  7. rosehips says:

As they say, war is hell.

What’s the next step? Send in the troops?

We will never stop terrorism and hatred toward America by sending in troops to eradicate insurgents. We can kill insurgents, but not without collateral damage, which is fuel for recruitment of new blood.

  8. Foxwood says:

    “We will never stop terrorism”

Until we shoot them all DEAD DEAD DEAD!

  9. rosehips says:

    TP issue threatens southern comfort
Environmentalists say softest tissues aren’t eco-friendly
Donald Bradley Kansas City Star Print

“They’ll take my Ultra Soft Charmin only when they pry it from my cold, dead, aloe-smelling hands.”

Highly doubtful it will come to that.

We’re talking about toilet paper. Charlton Heston’s famous vow was over guns.

The issue over tissue in the bathroom – the really super-soft stuff – is more like the fight about the big SUVs loved by many Americans.

Anti-green, environmentalists say. Politically incorrect. Why should Americans use luxurious toilet paper made from old-growth trees when much of the world gets by with a far more basic and often recycled product?

So Greenpeace, the Natural Resources Defense Council and other environmental groups have pushed manufacturers such as Kimberly-Clark (Cottonelle) and Procter & Gamble (Charmin) to stop using wood from virgin forests to make tissue products.

Mountains of paper are dumped every day into recycling bins in homes, offices, factories and schools. Use that to make toilet paper, the activists say.

Time to roll off the big number: If each American family would buy one recycled roll just one time, it would save 400,000 trees, allegedly.

The problem, though, is that each time paper is shredded during the recycling process, its fibers get shorter. The shorter the fiber, the less soft the tissue.

And Americans, though saying in surveys that they embrace green initiatives, also say they don’t want to sacrifice comfort.

“The truth is that other parts of the world are further along in using recycled content,” says Kay Jackson, spokeswoman for Kimberly-Clark.

“The American consumer still wants softness, and they are speaking with their pocketbooks.”

Pulling back in a competitive market is asking a lot, manufacturers say. They also point out that only 5 percent of forest-industry production goes toward toilet paper.

Darby Hoover, a senior resource specialist with the Natural Resources Defense Council, understands the pressure of customer demand but wonders: Do we really need toilet paper to be as soft as it can be or do we need it just soft enough?

Environmentalists say that other countries – particularly in South America, Africa and Asia – seem to be OK with “soft enough.”

Greenpeace has come up with a “toilet paper guide” for consumers on which brands are environmentally friendly. The criteria are recycled content and the use of chlorine bleaches, chlorine having been identified with its own ecological ills.

“When you’re doing your grocery shopping or just stopping by the corner store to grab a roll of toilet paper, make an informed decision as both a consumer and someone concerned about the world’s ancient forests,” the guide says.

It’s probably no surprise that brands with names such as Green Forest, 365, Earth Friendly, Natural Value and Seventh Generation scored the highest on the Greenpeace scale.

Bringing up the rear: Charmin, Cottonelle, Angel Soft, and, of course, Quilted Northern, which sounds thick enough to keep someone warm on a cold night in Minnesota.

Some manufacturers say they are taking steps to become more environmentally friendly. More wood is from sustainable forests, and they are trying to up their recycled content.

Critics, though, such as NRDC senior scientist Allen Hershkowitz, point out that many of the reforms apply only to the professional market – schools, business, theaters, stadiums and restaurants.

Home is another tissue. There, many Americans still insist on the pillowy soft of virgin fibers.

Lisa Jester at P&G says the company is committed to the environment and takes seriously its responsibility to help ensure sustainability of the world’s forest resources.

“All the fiber we use comes from sources that practice sustainable forestry,” she says. “That means that the trees are regrown or replanted and the soil, water and biodiversity are protected.”

But environmentalists say old trees are still being cut down when recycling alternatives exist. And it’s not just about trees, they say. It’s about carbon dioxide and ecosystems necessary to wildlife.

“The large old trees are the ones that do the most good,” says Bill Grotts of the Heartland Tree Alliance, which is part of Kansas City’s Bridging the Gap.

“They absorb the most water because they have more leaf area and provide the most cooling effect.”

To him and others, that’s the bottom line.

  10. m2 says:

    Fox, rosehips,

Obama is a total failure. He hasn’t failed in creating misery and creating uncertainty/instability due to his ideology. But y’all have to come to terms with the man is now being judged by his actions.

    Sorry rosehips.
The less he accomplishes for the people, the more he will be criticized. From what I hear, he’s making Jimmy Carter look good.

It used to be awake and informed ppl criticizing… back in the early months when we knew who and what he was. Liberal voters still wanted to deny.

That’s not true anymore. He’s not only a failure. He is the worst kind of failure- a dangerous liabilty.

    And people know it, now.

    … Here we gooooo!!!!

  11. Foxwood says:

    Rose,
Have you ever heard Bin Ladin talk about the “paper tiger”?

The lesson was we don’t stay to finish a job. Pulling out does not finish the job. In fact, it emboldens them.

  12. VotingFemale says:

we will never stop terrorism and hatred toward America, regardless of anything done or not done.

they want us to die so they can control the world… it is not rational, it is just the way it is.

  13. VotingFemale says:

    back to the taco making…

  14. rosehips says:

the bottom line is: We can have soft tp to wipe our asses or we can have peace on our soil, but we can’t have both. So what do we choose?

  15. Foxwood says:

Have you heard the story of why Germany and Japan never came back at us?

It’s because we beat them to a pulp.

Like VF said, Rose. They want us DEAD. We have to kill them first. Period.

  18. m2 says:

There’s no concession in the Koran that says the part where Mohammed decrees kill ALL non-believers, is to not be taken literal.

and we’re all educated enough to SEE that the religion largely practiced in the non-west is a literal interpretation. And even here in the west, developed & at liberty, there are Muslims who align with the interpretation of killers.

I don’t see a difference from that of Naziism. They are the same. And we have Neville Chamberlain at the helm.

  19. samhenry says:

DOG drops from Hot Air balloon onto the deck of the great ship VF.

    Hallo, mates.

RH – while I generally lift my leg or just squat low and shake, I have eco-friendly tp in the bathroom. We need to buy tissue as if we all had septic tanks.

I also believe in a push back for big bugs due to fewer antibiotics and less anti-biotic soaps. It is hard to find soaps now that aren’t very expensive that do not have anti-biotic qualities.

As for Obama, well, I have written on my post so many times that the War in Afghanistan and the War on Terror will bring him down that I am all pooped out so to speak.

Afghanistan and review of intelligence should have been first on his list. While he did do that, he did not get it. More than a cursory review was needed and swifter action needed in response to requests from Generals on the ground.

All of that said, the War on Terror in general will make it impossible for any president to lead. Read my post that I just dropped down above.

  20. samhenry says:

I think it would be a very good thing if VF made ALL of us tacos. Actually VF, could you make mine a burrito? It’s my birthday. I just can’t drive to the emerald city for a Chipolte on such a cold day.

  21. rosehips says:

Foxy, yes I have heard the paper tiger reference.

“In Mao Zedong’s view, “all reactionaries are paper tigers” – superficially powerful but prone to overextension leading to sudden collapse.”

    foxy said: Rose,

  22. dancingczars says:

Unless Obama is planning on bombing the crap out of Yemen why pull our embassy. Isn’t his mantra “win with words”. Interestingly that was the motto of the 306th Psychological Operations PSYOPS unit I was in during my tour of duty in the Army. Call me Robin Williams as in Gooooood Morning Vietnam;-)

  23. samiam60 says:

Rose what exactly is this recent fetish about toilet paper, bydais, and echo friendly wiping systems?

  24. Foxwood says:

I guess we can all start using John Wayne toilet paper…

It’s rough and tough and don’t take crap off of no one…

  25. Foxwood says:

    Fox Famous Quote:

“Beat the crap out of them, then they know who’s boss.”

  26. samhenry says:

Rh – with a global war on terror the rules have changed. Al Qaeda has put us on the defensive through the artistry of a massive surprise attack as the Japanese pulled off.

The difference: this is a global conflict with multi-branches of militant islam. It is difficult to know who the enemy is at times.

The hard liners are, by their own admission, out to destroy the West – Europe and America. It’s hard not to react.

How we react will be the key. IMO, we need to park those heavy armored vehicles and train more special forces.

China is the wild card. They just may sit smugly on the sidelines and watch all of us kill each other and then move in and take over. I have read articles about this.

Read about China’s moves into Pakistan, Iran and their cozying up to India (to head off their rise to power) and the Russians.)

We are an easy target to drop due to our debt. There are articles out there today about how the money put into mortgages by Obama Admin has created more chaos in financing.

Sorry for the bad news. It is bad all around.

  27. Foxwood says:

    Fast decisive win.

    Nuke em’ till they glow.

  28. samhenry says:

You all really need to read my blogs on all that we are discussing. They are mostly backgrounders.

  29. m2 says:

The thing is DC, Obama probably will bomb. Which is why the fallacy of Leftism/Islam is so ridiculous. He will wage counter strikes- shaming his own ideology and conducting a bad and half assed retaliation which could have been averted if he spent less time bowing and more time acting like a commander. Like 2 year olds, they push and push…. Because of Obama. And he will be forced to retaliate -badly.

It does not pay to be an appeasers to murders is the lesson we learn from our Marxist CiC.

  30. rosehips says:

foxy, are you familiar with the expression: “it’s like finding a needle in a haystack”?

Imagine you are a traveling salesman and you sell needles. A farmer tells you he don’t need your needles cuz he has a large supply of ‘em back in the hay barn. You ask to see them and he takes you to the barn. “They’re somewhere in there” he says, as he points to several tons of hay bales.
What is gonna happen when the farmer needs a needle? Can you convince him that he can save money if he buys new needles from you? How is he gonna have time to grow food for his fellow patriots if he is spending all his days searching for that needle? and won’t the animals be pissed off if they don’t get fed?

foxy said: Like VF said, Rose. They want us DEAD. We have to kill them first. Period.

  31. m2 says:

    “Appeaser to murderers”

  32. rosehips says:

SH, I will read your post. thanks!

Ever heard of waterboard them till they spill the beans. It works. Ask KSM.

  35. m2 says:

So what’s the alternative? Sit back and get welfare from the middleclass business owners. If a plane or two of Americans blow up say, “Well f-ck em, there’s too many ppl on earth anyhow.”

  36. rosehips says:

Foxy, I actually have a roll of John Wayne t.p.
I am saving it for posterity, or my posterior…whichever needs it first. haha

  39. samhenry says:

GEEZE, VF, you are wondrous on how you keep up with breaking news – and the whip up an equally wondrous post in warp speed.

    I just do retrospectives, LOL

  40. samhenry says:

    FOX

“Let Allah sort it out,” LOL

Did I say that? No FOX did.

It wasn’t me, you can’t prove that it was me, no one saw me do it …etc.

  41. rosehips says:

m2, no I don’t think that’s the answer. But if we don’t “react” to each attack with military action we can reduce our debt and build an economy that is not so dependent on war. We can secure our borders better and concentrate on terrorism within our own country.
We can give aid that helps develop water and sustainable agriculture instead of sending war machines and guns to defend resources and land. And who knows, maybe the attacks will decrease…

m2 said: So what’s the alternative? Sit back and get welfare from the middleclass business owners. If a plane or two of Americans blow up say, “Well f-ck em, there’s too many ppl on earth anyhow.”

  42. Foxwood says:

It works with all bullies, Rose.

  43. m2 says:

Not to mention, Rosie- ur needle in a haystack analogy is a farce. Bush actually was infiltrating and destroying the network those 8 years when unemployment was a 5%.

The network was completely neutered, until Leftists started their propaganda war to gain power. That’s all they care about isn’t it?

Just reminds me of this useless show trial coming up which will hurt out security more, and make our ppl mad- NYC’ers, Obama voters!

That’s how it is with power greedy leftists. It’s whatever they can do to debilitate the country for their own gain.

  44. rosehips says:

okay, I know I sound naive at times but all I really know is we spend billions on wars that never can be won. What is the logic in that?

Foxy says we should kill them all but that would mean killing every last islamic person and those who find genocide reprehensible. You would have to kill me too if that is the only solution you can come up with.

  45. Foxwood says:

We need the military, Rose. Governments job is to protect us. What their job is not is welfare. We can reduce government spending by stopping ALL welfare programs.

  46. m2 says:

Rose look at history of 1930. This is me sarcastic, but it’s true- the only way to get out of the crippling depression Obama is bring us with his policies is war.

    It’s irony at it’s best.

The Leftist dictator who appeases murderers brings war and destitution. That’s some hope and change.

  47. m2 says:

For real, the war on poverty is top of the list!

    LOL!!!

  48. Foxwood says:

War CAN be won Rose. But not with a weenie President. Let the Generals fight the wars. They are the experts. WAR CAN BE WON, but not with that attitude.

  49. rosehips says:

m2, lol. I’m glad I have you here to keep me honest. okay, the needle/haystack analogy isn’t perfect…but I don’t think the network was even close to being destroyed.

Things seemed to be calming down there for a while I admit, but then we sent in more troops to Afghanistan and the “needle” jerked toward the red. Any coincidence?

m2 said: Not to mention, Rosie- ur needle in a haystack analogy is a farce. Bush actually was infiltrating and destroying the network those 8 years when unemployment was a 5%.

  50. Foxwood says:

    War is hell, Rose.

  51. Foxwood says:

    Civilians die in war.

  52. Foxwood says:

“Let Allah sort them out.” — Famous Foxwood Quote

  53. samhenry says:

    RH

You are not naieve, you are remembering all of the wars we have lost since WWII.

We needed more allies in Vietnam, etc.

NOW PM Gordon Brown is calling for a conference on Terrorism in Britain at the time of another conference in January. Obama is all for this. He now knows there is a War on Terror that is inescapable and he will be listening to others on how to fight it effectively.

I believe this has been a learning curve for Obama.

Don’t look to the past, RH. We are fighting a war that is – VF what is it called – the new configuration – ? I remember – asymmetric. This is new so read up.

We will have to take our cues from our enemy and we already have in Pakistan where we only have special forces on the ground and are hitting them from the air.

Remember, they have been more effective than we have been. Want to just give up and let a Caliphate be established globally?

  54. samiam60 says:

    Rosehips says
m2, no I don’t think that’s the answer.

    Rose,

It is exactly this Progressive Liberal Idology that has brought this Country to its knees morally, spiritually, economically, and militarily. Don’t you see these high and lofty ideals will never work in the real world of flesh and blood human beings?

End war and control the population. How very contradictive is that? Killing is Killing is it not?

Liberals are hipicritical to say the least.

  55. Foxwood says:

“When you fight a war to win it, the chances of winning the war dramatically go up.”
    – Famous Foxwood Quote

  56. samhenry says:

    RH – M2

It is in the constitution that it is Government’s job to protect us. Giving up on this will not do this job.

  57. m2 says:

I say we do what Bush did for 8 years (precision hunt and dismantle), and put the spoiled bratty lefties of the US legal/media/501c’s in jail.

    That will be real peace.

Of course we’ll have to impeach or remove Obama in order to have a functioning economy again.

  58. rosehips says:

dang, I could sure use a taco right about now.

  59. rosehips says:

lol SH you old dog. I had to look that one up:

“The term caliphate (from the Arabic خلافة or khilāfa) refers to a theocracy, the form of government controlled by the church, in this case Islam. It was initially led by Muhammad’s disciples as a continuation of the political authority the prophet established, known as the ‘rashidun caliphates’. It represented the political unity of the Muslim Ummah, and was the world’s first major welfare state.”

SH said: Want to just give up and let a Caliphate be established globally?

  60. samhenry says:

    RLH

As you remember, it was hippy, liberal protesters and their allies who were the main element in bringing the Vietnam war to a close. Then the country waxed weak with PC.

I am not a gun slinger and I don’t have a pickup with a rack in the back but

Ever since Vietnam when the people at home ended it, the government has gone into conflicts looking over their shoulder at civilians back home – what would they tolerate? What would the international community think?

Well, al Qaeda knows we are in knots with PC. They know that unless the US public can accept the fact that we are in a PROLONGED war that will be dirty – they will win. They can sit out there forever until it is “over.” Hell, they have been plotting revenge since the Crusades. They are both patient and resourceful.

  61. Foxwood says:

“Foxy says we should kill them all but that would mean killing every last islamic person”

There you go putting words in my mouth again, Rose. What was that word? Ass-u-me?

We don’t need to kill every last Islamic person. But if a household holds a terrorist and the house gets bombed, their might be some collateral damage. That’s war.

  62. Foxwood says:

You can’t bury your head, Rose. They want to kill us. We have to KILL them.

  63. samhenry says:

RH – Old Dog – LOL

DOG is no longer free of typos, RLH!

  64. rosehips says:

lol m2. so are you saying repeal the constitution and detain the libtards? Should they get a trial?

m2 said: I say we do what Bush did for 8 years (precision hunt and dismantle), and put the spoiled bratty lefties of the US legal/media/501c’s in jail.

  65. Foxwood says:

“Real peace comes after you beat the crap out of your enemy so bad, they and all the other nations will think a second time to f*ck with you again.” — Famous Foxwood Quote

  66. m2 says:

    I disagree wholeheartedly.

You were radicalized by Pelosi et al, rose. It’s doesn’t seem reasonable now however, to take in good faith the opinion of such politicians. Pending they just approved a federal employee raise on Dec. 11. Surely you see the lies of the Democrat leadership.

I however, can easily connect the lack of domestic terror- to reports I followed between 2003 and 2007, from military officials and commanders about the Al Qaeda network dismantling.

Sorry. But they feared Bush, like it or not. And the insugency of military in Iraq worked against the terrorizers.

The main thing I remember though is hearing “Al Qaeda is on the run”… And I’ll believe that person over Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid anyday. And not just because there was sufficient evidence to prove it.

  67. rosehips says:

foxy, when you say to kill the insurgents and their relatives, you are basically saying to kill them all.

Are planned airport scanners just a scam?

New technology that Gordon Brown relies on for his response to the Christmas Day bomb attack has been tested – and found wanting

    By Jane Merrick

    Sunday, 3 January, 2010

The explosive device smuggled in the clothing of the Detroit bomb suspect would not have been detected by body-scanners set to be introduced in British airports, an expert on the technology warned last night.

The claim severely undermines Gordon Brown’s focus on hi-tech scanners for airline passengers as part of his review into airport security after the attempted attack on Flight 253 on Christmas Day.

The Independent on Sunday has also heard authoritative claims that officials at the Department for Transport (DfT) and the Home Office have already tested the scanners and were not persuaded that they would work comprehensively against terrorist threats to aviation.

The claims triggered concern that the Prime Minister is over-playing the benefits of such scanners to give the impression he is taking tough action on terrorism.

And experts in the US said airport “pat-downs” – a method used in hundreds of airports worldwide – were ineffective and would not have stopped the suspect boarding the plane.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, 23, allegedly concealed in his underpants a package containing nearly 3oz of the chemical powder PETN (pentaerythritol tetranitrate). He also carried a syringe containing a liquid accelerant to detonate the explosive.

Since the attack was foiled, body-scanners, using “millimetre-wave” technology and revealing a naked image of a passenger, have been touted as a solution to the problem of detecting explosive devices that are not picked up by traditional metal detectors – such as those containing liquids, chemicals or plastic explosive.

But Ben Wallace, the Conservative MP, who was formerly involved in a project by a leading British defence research firm to develop the scanners for airport use, said trials had shown that such low-density materials went undetected.

Tests by scientists in the team at Qinetiq, which Mr Wallace advised before he became an MP in 2005, showed the millimetre-wave scanners picked up shrapnel and heavy wax and metal, but plastic, chemicals and liquids were missed.

If a material is low density, such as powder, liquid or thin plastic – as well as the passenger’s clothing – the millimetre waves pass through and the object is not shown on screen. High- density material such as metal knives, guns and dense plastic such as C4 explosive reflect the millimetre waves and leave an image of the object.

Mr Wallace said: “Gordon Brown is grasping at headlines if he thinks buying a couple of scanners will make us safer. It is too little, too late. Under his leadership, he starved the defence research budget that could have funded a comprehensive solution while at the same time he has weakened our border security.

“Scanners cannot provide a comprehensive solution on their own. We must now start to ask if national security demands the use of profiling.”

Mr Wallace added that X-ray scanners were also unlikely to have detected the Christmas Day bomb.

The Government is looking at millimetre-wave scanners for widespread use in British airports as part of Mr Brown’s review. They are safer to use than X-ray scanners because they do not emit radiation and do not require passengers’ consent. Pregnant women cannot go through X-ray scanners but there are no such health risks with millimetre-wave technology.

However, a Whitehall source revealed that the DfT and the Home Office had already tested both the millimetre-wave and X-ray body-scanners as part of an ongoing assessment of airport security and anti- terror measures.

But the security scare has caused national governments and airports to renew their interest in body-scanners. Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport, where Abdulmutallab changed flights en route from Nigeria to Detroit, is to activate 17 scanners it bought two years ago for flights to the US, despite EU advice that there are privacy and human rights issues.

Last week the US Transportation Security Administration ordered $165m-worth of scanners, using both millimetre and X-ray technology, from L-3 Communications.

Qinetiq had developed a similar millimetre-wave body scanner, but is now developing a sophisticated “stand-off” scanner which does not pose any privacy issues as it does not show a body image. Materials hidden on a body reflect back signals, showing up as a red alert on screen. Kevin Murphy, product manager for physical security at Qinetiq, admitted this SPO system would also not have picked up the Christmas Day bomb, but insisted that it could be used as part of a “layered approach” to security in mass transportation, which would also include monitoring people’s behaviour.

Mr Murphy echoed Mr Wallace’s doubts over whether the millimetre-wave body scanners being discussed by the Government would have picked up Abdulmutallab’s hidden explosive. He said: “It is conjecture whether or not these methods would have seen through clothing. I don’t think anyone knows.”

He added: “The solution is to acknowledge that there isn’t a single technology out there that is an answer to the whole problem.”

Each full body-scanner costs around £100,000. However, opinion is divided among aviation experts. Writing in The Independent on Sunday, Chris Yates, Aviation Security Editor of Jane’s Information Group, says: “Body scanning (whether it be millimetre-wave or X-ray based and manufactured by any of the companies in this sector), has a significant role to play in enhancing UK airport security immediately.

“Body scanning is only half the story, though. The Government cannot ignore the liquid aspect any more. Liquid explosive became a high-agenda issue following the thwarted transatlantic bomb plot of 2006 and is clearly implicated in the attempted downing of Northwest Airlines Flight 253. If the Government skirts over this aspect it will be nothing short of a dereliction of duty.”

On Friday, in an announcement on the Downing Street website, the Prime Minister said an urgent review of security at UK airports would be implemented.

Promising to react quickly to the “wake-up” call of last week’s attempted atrocity, Mr Brown added: “In co-operation with President Obama and the Americans, we will examine a range of new techniques to enhance airport security systems beyond the traditional measures. These could include advancing our use of explosive trace technology, full body scanners and advanced X-ray technology.”

A spokesman for BAA, which owns six UK airports, including Heathrow, said on Friday: “Any comprehensive review of airport security should involve government and the aviation industry, and should establish how a combination of technology, intelligence and the profiling of passengers can build a better defence against the unpredictable and changing threat from international terrorism.”

Responding to Mr Wallace’s claims, a DfT spokesman said: “Body-scanners are being assessed urgently as part of a package of measures to respond to the latest incident. Trials of body-scanners have already taken place and these are being assessed urgently as part of an immediate review of airport security.”

In the US, the “pat-down” search used by security staff was derided as ineffective – because officials are forbidden from frisking sensitive areas. Analyst Michael Boyd said: “To have people hold up their arms and just pat them – like I’m really going to carry a bomb down there. You know where you’re going to put it, and no one’s going to go there.”

Mr Brown has also convened a meeting for 28 January on the terror threat posed by Yemen, where Abdulmutallab is alleged to have undergone terrorist training.

In a fresh announcement yesterday, Downing Street announced an emergency cabinet committee meeting with senior ministers and intelligence chiefs to discuss the UK’s response to the attempted attack.

No 10 and the White House have agreed to step up efforts to tackle the emerging threat from Yemen and Somalia.

Now the pendulum may be about to swing back in favour of grassland. The evidence is stacking up that meat and dairy foods from animals grazing fresh pasture are healthier than the grain-fed versions. Pasture-fed beef and lamb contain higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants such as vitamin E. Pasture-fed meat and milk are also rich in a remarkable compound known as CLA, which protects against many cancers and heart disease. When animals are fed large amounts of grain, the levels of these health-protecting nutrients fall rapidly in the resulting foods.

Grasslands have another gift for humanity, one only now coming to light. Pioneering US farmers believe they could become a key weapon in the climate change battle. Scientists have long been aware of grassland’s ability to capture or “sequester” carbon. Grass leaves take in carbon dioxide from the air, converting it to sugars by photosynthesis. Some of the resulting carbon compounds are transferred to the roots and released into the soil through the normal cycles of growth and decay.

The CIA is concerned that the Terrorist Organizations around the world are developing new tools of Terrorism after the failed airline attack of last week.
Word has it that the Terrorists are developing a
” Crotch Caddy ” able to hold several explosive devises at one time including the dreaded
    ” Tampon Bomb “.

The Tampon Bomb will have a fuse instead of the standard string attached and will be long enough to hang down a pant leg and be lit just above the shoe.

In response to this new threat President Obama has order that all flights coming into the United States must now be No Smoking flights.

PLAINS, Ga.– A spokesman for the U.S. Secret Service says the agency is investigating an effigy of President Barack Obama found hanging from a building in the hometown of former President Jimmy Carter.

Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan told The Associated Press that the large black doll was found Saturday morning along Main Street in the small town of Plains.

According to footage from WALB-TV, the doll was hanging by a noose in front of a red, white and blue sign that says “Plains, Georgia. Home of Jimmy Carter, our 39th President.” A witness told the television station that the doll wore a sign with Obama’s name on it.

Good morning VF, Fox, SH and samiam!!!

SamHenry, this here article you shared last night is truly frightening -the level of stupidity, very sad!!

    SH posted:
Belching cows not the detriment to global warming originally thought if they graze rather than eat grains. Of course there is the argument reserving land for grazing in inefficient use of the land.

New Zeland is experimenting with a collar that goes on cows to measure methane. They will then breed cows that emit lower amounts.

Whooh a hard freeze in Florida! A neg 8 in MN! I tell y’all, this Global Warming is going to make the future tough to survive with Obama’s cap and trade reparations scam, and our total reliance on Islamo-Facsists oligarchies oil for heating the house during all this warming. Good thing we’ve got Obama’s green technologies to pull us through. Right? ….Right?

  175. m2 says:

I am trying to remember the green technologies Obama has given us since he graced us with his Presidency. So far we’ve got the “air up your tires” (and that was “campaign Obama”! What an amazing, giving man!) Second green technology given by Obama, “Caulk your windows and doors”…

I can’t think of anything else he has been selfless enough to give us.

Maybe he has something up his sleeve for the future.
